Trattoria I Masenini

Unfortunately our experience at Trattoria I Masenini in Verona was very very disappointing!! From the moment we arrived the service felt rushed and cold. It wasn’t just inattentive it honestly felt like we were being pushed out the door and the manager in particular gave off a very unwelcoming vibe as if he couldn’t wait for us to leave. There was no effort to make us feel comfortable or even acknowledged beyond the bare minimum. As for the food it was a mixed a couple of dishes were okay not great, but passable, but others were well below expectations and just not enjoyable. For a place that presents itself as a quality trattoria, the execution didn’t come close to matching the reputation. Overall, the combination of bad service and hit or miss food made it hard to enjoy the evening and with so many wonderful dining options in Verona, I’d recommend looking elsewhere especially if you care about how you’re treated as a guest.

I'm sure we went to this trattoria on a bad night. There were only two waiters and they were struggling to keep pace even though there were quite a few spare tables. The result was slow service that really detracted from the overall meal. The waiters worked hard but they were struggling and we almost had to stop them as they dashed to the kitchen so we could get bread, olive oil, drinks and actually place an order. When it arrived the food was very good. My ravioli was well balanced and tasted lovely. My tuna was cooked well if not that exciting. I would be tempted to try I Masenini again but not on a Monday. However given the large selection of excellent restaurants in Verona it would not be at the top of my list.

The food was all good but quite variable, some parts were excellent and some a bit lacking. For instance I found the pork belly to be a bit on the tough side and the skin a bit chewy. The fillet was ordered sangue but came rare. The bread was a big disappointment for me. The rolls tasted industrial, reheated from frozen, although I think they were actually made on the premises, Service was friendly but slow. Four courses took 2.5 hours.

We hosted our wedding dinner at I Masenini and it was absolutely perfect. Angela and the entire team created the most wonderful atmosphere in the restaurant and the food was delicious. We started with an aperitif and finger food on one side of the restaurant and then continued with seated dinner at a big table in the second room. The food was of amazing quality, beautifully presented and just so yummy. Angela is a great host and took care of every little detail in planning, preparation and on the day. She made sure that we did not have to worry about a single thing. I can only recommend hosting a special event at I Masenini. Needless to say that we will always cherish this evening and come back very soon. Thank you so much for this special night, it was everything we wished for!

Great restaurant in the very heart of Verona city centre, very close to the Arena and convenient also for the opera festival. They specialise in traditional Italian cuisine with a modern touch. Great food, amazing location, vast and fine wines selection. Definitely recommended.

We had a very good meal here. Best risotto I have ever had. The filet was perfect. Loved the mashed potato and onions served in the little jars!

A very traditional place in the heart of Verona. Food it fresh and very well prepared. Something for everyone, including vegetarians (one of our party had chosen a vegetarian meal and it was as good as everyone elses). Highly recommended, be it a romantic dinner or meal with colleagues.

I had an excellent dinner. Incredibly nice place located just on the other side of Castel Vecchio, in the city centre of Verona. Looks nice both from the outsides and also from the inside. The decor are really well done and they contribute to create a cozy atmosphere. You can see the kitchen and the chefs working from the min dining room, a thing I always enjoy. I ordered the Spaghetti with garlic, olive oil and shrimps: they were really good. But the best thing I ate were the eggplant with tomatoes and mashed potatoes. Oh my god that way sublime. It tastes super good, couldn't have enough. The fresh bread and breadsticks were incredible as well, such a nice flavor. That was the first time I ate in this place, and it sure won't be the last.

One of the top restaurant in Verona , great fish menu' but even meat and amazing wine list . When I'm in Verona il there every night I'm stay there , so please try , and say hello to Blendi

Fantastic! A wonderful location next to the Castelvecchio, and the food is wonderful! We had the appetizer of Prosciutto with pickled vegetables con dividere (divided between us), and then shared two pastas: Ravioli con peas, mint, and bacon (fresh, buttery, and lovely) and the rigatoni with a polpo (octopus) and olive ragu (rich and stunningly tasteful!). Definitely worth a return visit!
