La Botte

"A modern and welcoming contemporary bistro situated in the heart of Stresa’s historic centre. Run by an entire family, the restaurant serves modern and imaginative fish and meat dishes where the focus is always on seasonal ingredients. The interesting wine list also includes a selection of wines by the glass." - Michelin Inspector

We had such a wonderful experience here! The food was absolutely excellent, full of flavor and beautifully presented. The elegant interior and cozy atmosphere made me feel instantly relaxed, and the staff were so warm and attentive.

Disappointing Experience Despite the Hype. I recently visited this restaurant, drawn by the buzz surrounding its Michelin star. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. First, the ambiance is almost non-existent — no thought seems to have gone into the design or atmosphere. The interior is bare and uninviting, and to make matters worse, there’s no air conditioning. Dining in such conditions, especially on a warm day, made it hard to enjoy the meal. Service was equally underwhelming. The owner greeted me with a smile, but it felt more forced than friendly — the kind of politeness that lacks genuine warmth. As for the food, which should be the highlight: the portions were surprisingly small, even for a fine-dining place, and nothing on the plate stood out. The flavors were bland, presentation basic, and overall it was difficult to understand what earned this place a Michelin star in the first place. In short, the restaurant relies heavily on its reputation rather than delivering a truly special dining experience. I left hungry and unimpressed. There are plenty other restaurants in Stresa with a Michelin star which are better.

Trattoria “La Botte” is a true gem! The food was absolutely amazing - homemade, full of flavor, and deeply rooted in local tradition. The charismatic owner brings so much warmth and character to the place; it’s clear this is a real family-run labor of love. Everything felt authentic, welcoming, and simply top-notch. We will definitely be back!

Good food, nice basic flavors! Service was very friendly we got a spot without reservation only 5 minute waiting.

A wonderful experience. The hostess and her son are passionate and charming. The food is innovative. Sabrefish was a first. The peas and lemon tart amazing. Great wine list. Clerico’s Langhe performs better than the cheaper Barolos. Stresa deserves a place like this.

Superb risotto and pasta primi dishes, with interesting combinations of flavours, with a good selection of local wine.. highly recommended

Obviously i’m not a local. If you’re visiting then you’ve definitely got to try this restaurant. For me it was a little pricey, but worth every penny the meat was tender and full of flavor. The French fries were the best tasting fries I have ever had in my life. I should’ve found out what kind of potato they used so I could make them myself. The dessert was the only item that left me unfulfilled. Give this place a try.

An absolutely fantastic restaurant, small but very cozy. The food is good, really good. The menu: Tartare-ok, the pasta is simply magical, as is the fish. Unfortunately, the service was slightly lacking, but not too bad—they forgot to place our order. I think we were just unlucky, but we will definitely return there since we liked the atmosphere and the food. Thanks
