"This classic-style restaurant with a recently renovated dining room is situated on the street that runs through the village of San Nicolò. Although the menu features some meat dishes (on Sundays in winter, this includes specialities such as boiled meats, anolini pasta in broth, and typical desserts such as ciambella cake with zabaglione), it is particularly renowned for its wide selection of fish options. At lunchtime during the week, there’s a choice of simpler recipes, but if you ask, staff will be happy to offer you the longer evening menu." - Michelin Inspector

Starting with the appetizer-the ravioli was incredible and even the salad with the balsamic reduction was so tasty. The second dish: osso buco in Milanese risotto-OMG and sliced piedmonte beef, sliced-so tender with a salad...then homemade Tiramisu in a mason jar for dessert was the way to end the mealone of my favorite places in Milan for sure

The bad points is because the owner. He is rude and stressed person even when we were only 3 tables with clients. BUT the food is so good! Is a good trattoria to go if you doesn't matter the manners and a meaning person serving you and you want to eat well.

Just had a lovely meal at this trattoria tonight. The service was attentive and kind but not overbearing and the food was really lovely too. Given it was our last night in Milan we decided to go for the classic Milanese dish of Ossobuco and veal cutlet which came in very hearty portions. To our great surprise we seemed to be the only customers the entire evening - I would highly recommend this trattoria to any visitors of Milan. It is just a five minute walk from the Duomo and the staff speak excellent English.

Enjoyed the Risotto with saffron very much! Very authentic Milanese cuisine, do try this place if you are in Milan.

Google
Really good restaurant with great quality of food and service. There is an air-conditioning system inside, 5-star importance for me, and English speaking lady. We ordered Osso buco and ravioli, 1/4 wine and sparkling water. Food were very nice at the reasonable price, 60 euros-ish.

Avoid. I understand the boiled meat cannot be freshly cooked but even after reheat, the part of meat on the bone of one piece of meat was still cold and raw. Price also unreasonably high, not suited for the food quality. For the side dish, it's not bake potato and potato chips with vegetables for 6 euros but each cost 6 euros. Unbelievable.

Google
Great place for quality cotoletta milanese. We arrived at end of lunch time full house but they managed to find us a table. Great food and super nice lady who served us. Fantastic tiramisu as well

Yelp
My wife and I had a wonderful meal here recently. We actually had antipasto. Primi Piatti and Secunda Piatti. Portions were generous but not huge. Food was superior. They really know how to cook fish here. Risotto was very good and the ravioli was top notch. The service was beyond friendly and very helpful. Prices were reasonable. If we lived in Milan we would come back often. .

Yelp
The service was very good although we overheard our server making many different recommendations for wine and food than she did for us. The food was just ok. I thought the risotto Milanese was perfectly done aldente. The sea bass dinner smelled slightly fishy and the flavors didn't marry together well.

Yelp
We were in the area seeing the sites and decided to stop here based on Google reviews. We arrived on a Thursday around 12:45 without a reservation. We were seated immediately. The restaurant appears very small when you first walk in but they have a large room downstairs. When we first arrived there were a few other seated tables. At 1:00 the people started arriving in droves. All local business folks on their lunch break. We felt very lucky to have been seated so easily. They offer a special lunch time menu with very affordable pricing. We ordered off the regular menu as what we were looking for was not offered on the special lunch menu. We ordered risotto Milanese and the osso buco which came with the same risotto. We also enjoyed a beer and glass of wine. Excellent service and wonderful food. We will be in Milan for a few more days and hope to get back for dinner. P

Yelp
Made a reservation about a week before arrival. At first we were a little skeptical. Not a person in site so we walked slowly and peaked in. The place was slammed so we went in. We looked around and not one empty table and then we were walked down some stairs to a cave like room...one table remaining and it was ours. We're the only non Italian diners. It was Mother's Day so the atmosphere was lively. Our waitress was charming with perfect English. She told us that she had been saving the table for us! We ordered the Cotoletta di Vitello alla Milanese with potato chips and the Pumpkin Ravioli cooked in a butter sauce wit crumbled Amaretti Biscuits and Lemon Zest. Complimentary Milanese Meatball served with pumpkin purée. The veal Milanese was cooked perfectly, tender and moist. Needed some salt but that's about it. They provided enough lemon which was nice. The pumpkin ravioli was awesome, could have been dessert. The flavors of the butter, pumpkin, amaretti and lemon really melded together. We shared each meal which made for a multi course meal. The homemade potato chips were thin as razors and were to die for and somewhat addictive. The Milanese meatball was my weak link. Ok, nice touch and thought. Would highly recommend with a reservation. Prices are in line with Milan if not a little less. Our lunch with wine and coke was right at $50 EUR. We forget you must ash for the check! No problem

Yelp
Excellent Milan restaurant. Great dishes. Don't miss it. We started with the shrimp risotto. The sweetest shrimps. The steak Milanese is the best I had. Enough for 2 people but I managed to eat it all. Not a tourist trap restaurant in a nice area. Enjoyed a lot.

Yelp
Followed Yelp blindly based on the few reviews and so happy we did. The food was amazing from the first course to the last. Wine was priced very well and the portions were large. Service was quite excellent, food came out hot and you could taste the homemade feel of the food. Ravioli, Osso Bucco, and steak were amazing. We come from California and had a very memorable meal at La Colonna. We have been here for 3 weeks and this one tips the list. We ate upstairs in a very nice, quiet, and well lit restaurant. Highly recommended.

Yelp
We had the best "polpetta alla milanese" (meatball). Not a fan of Risotto but the Risotto ala milanese was delicious. The cotoletta was also delicious. Lastlty, the velvety and sweet tiramisu was 10/10. Highly recommend.
