DO NOT eat here under any circumstances. Please take the time to read why;
Our experience at this restaurant was horrible on every level. I have been to Italy uncountable amounts of time in my life and calling this restaurant “Trattoria La Sicilians” is an insult to the whole of Italy.
To start off with: The bread which was served with „olive“ oil. The oil was just basic sun flower oil with a horrible aftertaste of garlic, absolutely disgusting.
We ordered the bistecca and the pollo, both of which were served as the „family portion“. According to them, that’s just a bigger portion, for double the price. Though really it is a scam, as you pay double the price for a slightly larger portion.
The food was horrible. So horrible in fact, that for the first time we had to leave the restaurant during dinner. The pollo was soaked in some pre-made sauce and was so overcooked, that it was incredibly chewy. Not to mention the bistecca, which was an absolute joke as well. It was overcooked, far more than what is considered „well done“ and covered in a greasy garlic sauce. It was basically inedible. (You can convince yourselves by looking at the attached images)
The worst part of all were the drinks;
First of all the wine was mediocre at best. However, the price was not. A glass of wine cost $14.
The Beer we were served, expired in October 2016. (Note: This review was written in August 2019). Serving spoiled beverages is absolutely unacceptable and presents a HEALTH RISK to anyone visiting this restaurant.
(Attached image shows expiry date of beer)
So please do yourself a favour and don’t eat here.
The service was also poor, as the restaurant was crowded and had a very hectic atmosphere.
