Best Restaurants and Bars in Ocean City, Maryland | Eater DC

"This family-style red sauce joint maintains a brisk business based on its reputation for slinging some of the top pies in town. It’s best to call ahead and do takeout at the peak of dinner. Try the “famous summer pizza” with mozzarella, fresh basil, sliced tomato, olive oil, and garlic." - Tierney Plumb

Wow. Incredible food. Came for dinner with my girlfriend and started with salads which were good but typical. Got the traditional white pizza which was awesome super fresh and crisp. Some of the best I’ve had. The white has onion on it which is the bomb as well. Got the tiramisu for desert which was super light and homemade. Service was super quick and meal was well priced.

Pretty good old style Italian food. We come here every time we visit Ocean City. The parking lot gets crowded, sometimes I park on the street nearby. Lines can be long, but it does move fast. The food comes out at a fast pace hence the high turnover for tables. I really liked their pizza- had a nice chew and good tomato sauce. My wife enjoyed the clams with linguine with white sauce and my kids loved the shrimp scampi and meat ravioli pasta dishes. When you need a break from seafood or Beach food this hits the spot.

We were in town on vacation and looking for some pizza and wings and this place showed up in our search. Upon entering, everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was quiet and inviting. We were seated quickly with no wait, at a booth and there was plenty of room for five, making it comfortable for all of us. We ordered mozzarella sticks, pizza, and two orders of wings. The food came quick and was delicious.! Dare I say the best wings I’ve had in a LONG time. Everyone left full and happy. We could not suggest stopping in to this little gem to enjoy your next meal if in the area! We will definitely be making this an annual stop!🫶🏼

I ordered a takeout pizza, which was delicious. We ordered the meatlovers with cannoli and it was excellent in every way. The cannoli was huge and delightful. But… going to the counter to place our simple order… was… an experience. Speaking of the lady who took our order: I’ve never had a person seem so personally offended to have to take our *simple takeout order. I was wondering if she thought i had insulted her mother or something. But then I saw that’s how she treated everybody. I hope her week has since improved because man that interaction was unpleasant. The other employees seemed fine. If you wait in the restaurant for your takeout pizza to be ready heads up, they won’t let you know even if they see you sitting there. You’ll have to go up and ask if it’s ready, and hope that it is because you might get the dirtiest look of your life from the order lady just for asking. But the pizza was great!

Ordered the large supreme pizza to take back to our hotel. It was ready quickly and tasted fine. I guess I found out that I'm just not a huge fan of big topping-pieces, but that's totally a personal preference.

Google
One of the BEST Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to. The food was amazing and tasted great. You could tell they make it homemade it tastes amazing. The place is really clean and is a really cute place to eat. 10/10!!!

Google
We had dinner here on our last night in town. We split a large Supreme Pizza along with some cold Yuenglings. Excellent pie! Best news? We have half a pizza for the ride back home to SC tomorrow. Awesome service.

It’s everything you want with a true local spot. Make sure you get there early because summer time gets crazy with the lines. Even the carry out lines are long. Make sure to try the following top items: Clams Linguini Pizza Chicken Parm It’s a great vibe inside. Even reminds me of an old Pizza Hut. :)

Yelp
A small Italian homestyle restaurant across from our hotel while on holiday. Place seems to only be open for dinner and quite popular. The interior is old school with stained glass lamp shades (all different and none matching), and the wooden booths are small and tight. A lot of tables available though. Our server did not seem to be very familiar with the menu. Could not describe items for order. The food came in an odd order. Side of bread came last. Some reviews mention garlic bread but this was just regular bread with a side of butter. Kids meals seemed hearty. Tenders were tasty. Burger bun wasn't great. Chicken parm was yummy. Hawaiian pizza was alright. The sauce is too salty. The crust too hard/crispy. The cheese had burned onto the pizza and the pineapples were not sweet enough to overcome the saltiness of the sauce and Virginia ham. Overall we liked it for the "nostalgic Italian American home cooking." Someone who appeared to be the owner came by to check on us. That was nice of him.

Yelp
Super busy weekend but a review on take out pizza. The dough is unique. But not in a good way. Super dense and undercooked. The underside was as white as a paper plate, but not soggy. Just a super dense flavorless dough. Have a full glass of water with each slice otherwise you won't be able to get it down. The cheese is SUPER greasy. Even a white pizza had the cardboard soaked before we got it home. Wish it soaked into the crust... People were nice. 3 stars is very generous but the place looks cool.

Yelp
Listen. This joint is making delicious pizza. While it has thicker crust than most, it's not Detroit style or deep dish- but the flavors and "ambience" transported me back to the little Italian joints in Chicago suburbs- the small mom and pop shops I grew up on. Thick cheese flavored by all the greats - not just the mozzarella - stands up to their crust- so everything is perfectly balanced. I loved the old school stained glass light fixtures and dark wood booths - just like the old days. Don't change a thing!

Yelp
Been almost ten years since my last review, time for an update! We dine here every time we visit Ocean City. It's an old school Italian restaurant. The service is fast so don't be discouraged about the long wait times. It is a bit of a wait if you have a larger party than 4 though. Can't go wrong with any of their pizzas and pasta. My wife says this place has the best clams in linguine with white sauce. I've had their lasagna and other pasta dishes, and it tasted great. I believe their pastas are homemade. The owner is great and so nice.

Yelp
If you're driving through OCMD or beachin' it - stop by TL for the best pizza in town!!!! It's been around for more than 35 years, when you walk in it takes you back in time. The pizza is absolutely delicious and you MUST have the homemade sauce to dip it in. That sauce...is liquid gold! I love the fact that one of owners walks around talking to customers and making sure things are up to par. Staff is also friendly :-)

Yelp
Lombardi's is a staple in ocmd. Pizza is great, if you're looking for something quick and need a pizza this is the spot! Always know the food will come out well but this is def a casual Spot. 10/10 for a pizza place

J B.

Yelp
AMAZING!!!!!! Staying right across the street from Lombardi's and saw the good reviews. Wife and I were looking for a change. What a good choice. Showed up around 7pm on a Wednesday and it was about 3/4 full. Little loud but still could have a normal conversation. Service was super quick fast. Like damn fast. After our orders were taken, it took about 10 minutes for our food to arrive if that much. It flew out of the kitchen. Wife got the shrimp scampi with angel hair pasta and said it was delicious. I got the veal parm entree and it was probably the best I've ever had. Everything tasted so fresh. Our wonderful server kept bringing refills on my soda before my cup was half empty. I do go through soda pretty quick at meals. Got a cannoli to go and it looks so yummy. Didn't get to try their pizza but a table close to us did and it looked delicious. Will have to try it next time as I saw a lot of reviews saying it was the best in OCMD. If it's anything like our meals today, I can't wait to try it. Excellent service, excellent portions, can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Tagged along for dinner with my friend's family on a Sunday evening. Parking was a breeze as they have a big lot right outside. Despite the pretty sizable crowd waiting out front our party of 5 only waited about five minutes and we were promptly seated in a booth in the back. It's a little tight inside, weaving around the tables and bar area proved a bit difficult especially since it was so busy. The restaurant is dimly lit with traditional Italian decor on the walls. Our server was quick and offered good recommendations. I ordered the chicken fettuccini and despite the photo it actually tasted quite good. You need to mix the sauce in yourself as they clearly have the noodles separate from the sauces in the kitchen. The Alfredo sauce was delicious, they said all sauces are hand made. The shrimp with vodka sauce was also great. Our meals also came with a bread and butter basket. I was impressed by how fast our meals came out. Overall I'd recommend Lombardi's, I'd like to come back and try their pizza. I'd eat their pasta again for sure! The only issue we had was the huge table of children that were sat next to us which is not the restaurants fault. The dining room inside was quite loud and unfortunately we had to scream over the table to be heard during the entire meal.

Yelp
Pretty good food!! We ordered one Chicken Parmigiana and one Chicken Parmigiana with Vodka sauce instead of the classic sauce. I definitely liked the one with Vodka sauce better but both were good! The chicken was cooked well but too salty (and I appreciate a good salting). It came with a few pieces of bread with butter that was okay. I would definitely return for their pasta sauces.

Paulina E.

Yelp
It is one of the best restaurants in Ocean City. The food was delicious. The service is great, and the place is clean with a nice environment.

Julianne N.

Yelp
How do I even begin... for starters the flys were all over my food and drinks. I couldn't even finish my food, flies landed all in it. My sister in law got chicken Alfredo and the chicken didn't even taste right it looked off to begin with and looked like cat food. My food was shrimp scampi and it was bland with no flavor and dry. If I could give this place a 0 star rating I would. I wouldn't recommend anyone going here. Waste of money!! The fly even ran away with the tip...

Yelp
Best spot in ocean city! Smells like home! Just like a proper mom and pop Italian place like you'd get in NJ, NY and CT. Love it. Feeds my soul to come here and manga!

R. S.

Yelp
Excellent! One of the best Italian food places in Maryland. Excellent service. The owner is in the dining room asking guests how everything is. Not out of politeness, but because he truly wants his guests to have great experience.

Yelp
Food is delicious, you have to get the pizza. Definitely going to come back. Service was nice, the whole feel of the place is awesome.

Yelp
Food is always consistent here and served fresh and piping hot! Best pizza in the area and pasta with meatballs is delish! Reasonably priced for the quality and portion sizes!

Yelp
Truly, you have not been to Ocean City if you have not eaten pizza at Lombardi's! The service is excellent, fast and smooth. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, it is a cozy homely hospitality. Every time I have come, I have met the owner and he cares about each customer's experience at his restaurant. I really enjoyed eating the veggie pizza, it was nice of the staff to be accommodating for a half and half to split with a loved one.

Yelp
YESSSSSS! If you love pizza then you will love Lombardi's! I had heard a lot about this place and they did not disappoint! The ambience is a little dated, but works for the type of restaurant it is. It was clean and comfortable. We ordered a large half Cheese and half Meat Lover's as well as a large Lombardi's Famous Summer Pizza. They were all very tasty. The crust had such a great flavor, which just complimented the pizza even more. I will say the Meat Lover's is very stacked with...meat! For the type of crust, it doesn't hold very well and you may need to eat it with a fork. The Famous Summer Pizza was so fresh and delicious and buttery. Such a great balance of ingredients/topping and SO good! The hostess and server were all friendly. It was decent service and they checked on us throughout our dining. 10 out of 10 recommend!

Yelp
Love this pizza!! Our favorite place for dinner in OC. Been coming here for decades. Amazing Italian food!! The pizza is 10/10

Yelp
First time person here. Had the MD crab soup, it was super thick, like a stew. Tasted ok though. Ordered a pizza. It was ok. Nothing bad but nothing WOW either. If you couldn't tell this place didn't dial my number. But I will say that the place was packed in the off season at 7pm. To go orders were steady. Perhaps it's just me who is not impressed.

Yelp
Really tasty and affordable pizza. Fast service. Nice old school decor. They even put the extra pizza in a box for you to take home.

Yelp
Trattoria Lombardi's is an casual Italian restaurant for a family meal. We stopped by during prime dinner time and were told it would be a 30 min wait. I was expecting it to be much longer because the restaurant was packed but they got our group of six seated well before the quoted time. Our sever, Anna, was fantastic! She really made a great meal that much better because she was so attentive, helpful and checked in frequently. We started with several appetizers which we shared family style: wings, mussels, garlic bread, mozzarella sticks, calamari. They were all amazing! The wings were a huge hit! We then decided to split a few pies: pepperoni, veggie and summer. The veggie pizza was incredible! Definitely the dark horse of the night but everyone loved it! We split a few bottles of wine and enjoyed a great dinner with friends! If you're in the area looking for a good, casual Italian meal you can't go wrong with the appetizers and pizza here!

Yelp
We are from out of state and I had a hankering for some pasta and carbs. I read the reviews and felt that we chose really well after looking at the other options in-town. Skip the salad and get the entrées because the pasta I ordered was absolutely fantastic. It was so fresh and cooked perfectly al dente. The chicken was outstandingly delicious. The sauce- exquisite. It was just what I wanted and it's easy to see why locals keep coming back. We didn't order a pizza but you could tell that it was very hearty. The tables around us got one and it looked quite good. We got both the tiramisu and the cannoli for dessert. They were great. I think the owner was hanging around the bar area. He seemed like a genuinely welcoming person and full of character and happy to see his regulars. That kind of charm is fleeting these days, so it's refreshing to see presence like that. As for the ambiance, people who are saying it needs a pick me up, eh. I disagree. It reminded me of going to your local Italian place when you were a kid. There's nostalgia and warmth in the low hanging Tiffany fixtures and charming old booths. I quite liked that. And the salad wasn't bad, just unremarkable. it's just not what I was wanting. And the entrees absolutely made up for it. You absolutely cannot beat the prices and quality of the food with the service here. The portions are "Midwest" approved and sure to leave you full. We will definitely be back the next time we are in OC. Try to get in before the dinner rush if you can! It's popular for a reason.

Yelp
I am a huge snoot when it comes to pizza. This place knocked it out of the park. When you first walk in it smells just as good as it tastes. The lighting inside is very nice, not too bright and not too dim. My only complaint is that the booths you're sat in are hard and uncomfortable but I imagine it's expensive and hard to take care of cushions. It was super busy in there with sit downs and take outs. We didn't wait too long for our server to bring out our pizza. My other complaint is that we had ordered a veggie pizza and the veggies were not evenly distributed among the slices. But on an uptick the crust was evenly baked, a nice golden brown. It had a nice crunch to it and it was nice and airy inside. The cheese was nicely distributed and they did not skimp on the cheese. It had a very nice pull to it. The sauce was just right, evenly distributed and not piled on. Usually if I order from Dominoes I have to ask for extra cheese and extra sauce. This place I did not have to ask for that. Our server was attentive but limited. We did not get asked if we would like a refill on our sodas and she came back twice to see how we were doing. The restaurant itself was clean and very inviting. The table behind us had employees that he kept going over too and talking to them. Also there was a single mother with her daughter in front of us that he kept going to but never once stopped by our table. All in all, the food was wonderful and I do plan on coming back.

Yelp
Pains me to downgrade my review of Lombardi's, but we've been served too many sub-par pizzas lately to ignore the trend. Are they under new management? Quality has gone down.
google avatar

Jay E.

Yelp
Kudos to the owner who stepped in a found us seating. He treated us like we are part of the family. He looks Italian or Greek (none of that matters) he also looks like a made guy but kind and welcoming. Mr. Owner you made us feel right at home. We are visitors from out of town. Pizza and service is GOOD. This place seems busy all the time, so the food speaks for itself.

Yelp
Full disclosure: I haven't stopped by Lombardi since 1996 when my family and I were guests of locals. Tonight I decided to break the dry spell and get carryout. A large meat lovers pizza. I arrived and was greeted by friendly a team member and placed the order. A little more than ten minutes later, I had my pie, paid the bill, left a tip and headed to my hotel. The pizza is incredible and it really is the best in town, bar none. Lastly - the restaurant is a time capsule. Not much has changed over the years and that's pretty comforting.

Don T.

Yelp
Really disappointing. We've had better frozen pizza and the wine selections/brands were pitiful. We've wanted to try Lombardi's for years of coming to OC, MD. Autosphere was way cool.
google avatar

Manuel L.

Yelp
Pizza was good but everything else was not so great. Manicotti was so Fri like it was made and sitting for a few weeks until ordered. Pizza was very good though.
google avatar

Kyle L.

Yelp
My family went to Trattoria Lombardi's for a quick and easy dinner. The restaurant has a lot of seating and can easily accommodate large groups. Their food is solid, but their pizza is probably your best bet. My mom ordered their basic salad and it just looked a little questionable. The place is loud, but it's very family-friendly.

Yelp
A tasty and huge Italian restaurant in OC! We came at 6:15 on a Thursday in August and were told it would be a 20 minute wait for 2 - we were seated in about 15 minutes and the wait wasn't bad. There was a whole crowd of people waiting but luckily it moved quickly. Muscles in garlic & wine sauce was okay. I wouldn't order again. I got the 1/2 liter of wine and, being bad at knowing quantities, I asked if it was like two glasses worth and was told yes. I should have paid better attention in a hook - it was actually 4-5 glasses worth! Nice for the price. Glasses were small, so if they were bigger it maybe could have been 2-3 glasses. We each ordered a side salad. We didn't see it in the menu but we weren't told it wasn't an option when ordering. We ended up being charged for a typical salad. I guess that's the norm - so if you are hoping for a smaller side salad at a smaller price, just know it won't happen. Prices were decent though. Caesar salad had super good dressing. Delicious & good portion size! House salad was just okay. Food came out decently quick. Huge potion for eggplant parm! It tasted good, nothing too crazy. Penne in shrimp scampi was over cooked and the flavor was missing garlic. Overall shrimp scampi wasn't great. But the watery leftover sauce was nice to dip bread in, and there was a good portion of shrimp (8). The restaurant itself was loud, busy, and overstimulating. One of the tables I was sitting near is where they brought all the dirty plates and cups before taking it back, so that made our dining experience a bit louder. The lamps hanging over each table was super pretty! Just a ton going on in this giant restaurant. I would come back to try the pizza since that's what everyone raves about, but other than that I'm not dying to go back.

Yelp
Never had such "Authentically" BLAND pasta/sauce! We were seated next to the busser station. My step daughter was splashed with something that came over the wall onto her shoulder. When something was said to the lady, she looked at the other lady standing there and rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulders! When we mentioned it to our waitress she blew it off! Never again! #shouldvegotthepizza

Paul H.

Yelp
Been going there since 1979. Always very good. Maybe the best Pizza on the Eastern Shore. Worth the drive from Rehoboth
google avatar

Mia C.

Yelp
Even on busy nights, we always have had a great experience with this restaurant! From their pizza, wings, cheese steaks, and desserts, this is a solid, homey spot! Make sure to ask about which lamp was donated from a customers personal home!
google avatar

Damian C.

Yelp
Ordered 2 takeout pizzas. The place was clean. Regular pie with half mushroom and half pepperoni. Second was a white pie. They provided crushed red pepper flakes for toppings upon request. Food was delicious and service was quick and friendly.
google avatar

Joy F.

Yelp
Got a carry out order Thursday night- one of the best meals we had while in Ocean City! Delicious, good quality ingredients, felt filling without making you feel overindulged. Would definitely go again! The pizza was especially tasty.
google avatar

Vic S.

Yelp
Because of so many good reviews, decided to check this place out - Food is ok, not five stars but mediocre. Few times older lady at the carry out section had such a nasty attitude, won't be coming back just to avoid her. The rest of the staff and servers are good, but there's plenty of good places around not to have some old woman spread her misery on to the customers.
google avatar

Yelp
Always our first go to when we get to Ocean City MD. Last time I had the lasagna which I have no word to describe it. This time I had the chicken parm over linguine. Again did not disappoint me. There is something about there sauce. I wish I could buy a gallon of it. The waitress was very good . Only thing I can complain about is they don't have unsweetened tea. But I love the place!
google avatar

Karen P.

Yelp
Nothing has changed in here in the past 20 yrs - and I LOVE it! Always reminds me of old time Ocean City! Food is always great. Pizza is exceptional! A great place if you have kids - the noise won't bother anyone!

Yelp
Great family owned locals spot. The pizza is very good almost NY style , love the meat sauce,

Yelp
Lombardis has been around for ever and is a Ocean City family favorite, I have to say that this pizza ranks my top 3 hands down, being from New York I definitely know a good pizza and this is not just good it's excellent pizza, everything that I've tried on the menu is really really delicious, the service is always top notch, with the nice friendly owner that walks around just to say hello and ask how things are going. Love this place

Dc D.

Yelp
Causal ambience with a classic decor that feels like the mafia at the beach . Food is always fresh due to the busy customer traffic and they manage to always put but smiles in their face with friendly services. Food and Beverages Basic beers and wine, soda drinks. We had a family size pepperoni pizza, a personal size pizza with olives and artichokes, chicken parmigiana and veal parmigiana, all very delicious in reasonable price. Recommend!

Karen L.

Yelp
May 2024 - A revisit after 12 years of previous disappointment with group of 4 & bill of 200.00 including tip. Service & prices very good. Pasta & Caprese salad outstanding. Not opposed to frozen food if processed correctly BUT ... calamari, meatballs, & veal parm were obviously NOT taken care of properly. Proved to be frozen all around. Vegetables in Cacciatore were cooked to mush. Ugh!!! Will visit again but probably just for pizza
google avatar

Laurie P.

Yelp
We moved from NJ to TX for 8 years and got used to saying "That's not what real pizza tastes like". We've lived in MD for 2 months and had a bunch of boardwalk pizza, so I was craving a great seafood pasta when we came to Lombardis. They did not disappoint. It was so good, so fresh, so authentic. But, we sat at the bar and pizza after pizza was placed next to me waiting for servers to deliver. I have never longed for a slice more in my life. I literally bought a pie to go (in theory to bring to my daughter, but really because of the FOMO) Check it out, you'll be happy you did!

Yelp
It's noisy, it's bustling, and I would expect nothing less from an Italian kitchen! We arrived at 5:15 (Tuesday evening, late July) to a full parking lot so we fully expected to wait to be seated. Happily we were able to get in right away even though most tables were full already. When we left about 45 mins later there was a long wait. So, gauge your arrival accordingly. This is a locally owned Mom & Pop and it has that feel. Dark wood booths and trim. A bar off to the side. A collection of Tiffany lamps, one per booth. Charm, charm, charm. As for the food, our table had three different orders. The Summer Pizza (Mozz, toms, and basil) was delicious. The ingredients tasted fresh and the crust had a nice chew. The Meat Tortellini in Alfredo was heavenly. Hubs said he didn't know what they put in it, but it was fantastic, and he's right. And MIL ordered the spaghetti with marinara. Since she can no longer eat larger portions, they let us order the child's portion, which was perfect. This is a highly recommend for me. Would definitely eat her again. Or, get a carry out. The carry out window was poppin' too.

Yelp
Anywhere I happen to visit, I always look for a decent NY style pizza place. Luckily, Ocean City seems to offer more than a couple of choices but this was the closest one to the condo we had on the beach so this was it. This place exceeded my expectations; to be fair, I wasn't expecting much, but I hoped it would. First, this isn't necessarily a pizza parlor, though it has the hardware, but a full-on Italian restaurant that just happens to serve good pizza. No conveyor belt pizza here, they use actual pizza ovens and the crisp crust and melty cheese WITHOUT BURN MARKS tell the tale! You seem to get a lot more burn marks with conveyor belt pizza; maybe it's the quality of cheese or the cooking time but whatever it is, I've learned to dislike it. The pizzas were made to order with custom requests, no mistakes, and the wait time was agreeable considering the place had a good deal if inside diners as well as takeout orders- it was a little full in there! We walked around the strip mall, checked out the souvenir store and roughly 20 minutes later, our pizzas and salads were ready! There was a pleasant vibe to the place; not quite homey, but definitely comfortable. The manager/owner came by to ask us about our order and to assure us it would be just as we wanted. Nice old guy. I could see us coming here for dinner now that COVID restrictions are relaxing; we wouldn't dream of doing it until we'd gotten our shots but now that's done- we're good to go! At least for this year. If you're ever in OC and hankering for a NY style pie, I definitely suggest you check this place out. We'll be back!

Yelp
Came here on Sunday. It must have been after the lunch rush because it was dead. The food was great, the service was just ok. Our waiter kept talking to another employee who seemed to be the cashier in a foreign language. We ordered the Fried Mozzarella, Lasagna & Chicken Alfredo. The Lasagna was our favorite. I'm the sauce was perfect. It was a good size but it only came with bread. The Chicken Alfredo was just ok. It needed more flavor. More shredded parmesan cheese. The Fried Mozzarella was fresh. The pasta came with bread. The bread wasn't warmed up, it was cold and served with butter. We also ordered have a litter or wine. Which is pretty cool since a lot of places in the US don't do that. The prices were really cheap. They are located in a strip mall and we found parking right away.

Yelp
We keep coming back here every time we visit OC this summer, we love their pizza, especially the supreme pizza. It's awesomely delicious, filled with generous toppings and the crust always feels the same as it fresh from the oven even if they are overnight leftovers pizza. Besides pizza, we also ordered the entrees like lasagna, but the portions were too small in my opinion. Their kid's menu, especially the pasta options turns out really good, also they treated their little customers really sweet by providing breads and butter together with the kid's menu. The first couple times, just before the cases of Covid 19 went up again this couple weeks, we experienced dine-in dinner there, even though the place was super crowded, but the customers were still comfortable enjoying dinner. But last night, we decided to order take out, which was still a decent experience with 35 minutes wait. If you're around OC and think about there delicious italians pizza, please plan ahead whether your dine-in or takeouts. Enjoy!
