"A Bowery restaurant space that has seen lots of turnover in recent years has met its latest match. Gia Trattoria, an Italian restaurant said to be owned by Gino Sorbillo, a chef from Naples, has shut down after just four months." - Emma Orlow

This place is a 'gem'! Call ahead for a reservation as its loved by all the locals. Its small but quaint with feeling of Italy all around you. We were fortunate to get a table outside. Sophia did not hesitate to bring us out a fan to insure we were comfortable. The food was exceptional. My fish was cooked to perfection. We ordered other dishes (there were 3 of us) and they were also beyond delicious and perfect. Everything is homemade which means all the pasta is made from scratch in the kitchen. You won't find better Italian food anywhere. This is a family run business which takes great pride in each detail and dish. Our server, Sophia was not only beautiful but was also a daughter of the owners. She was so engaging, warm and friendly (no matter how busy she was) she made our experience so delightful. Can't wait to return with friends when in the area. Thank you for sharing your family dishes with us!

Google
An absolutely outstanding dining experience! Every dish was bursting with flavor, and you could truly taste the care and passion that went into preparing the food. I ordered the lasagna trio, and it was hands-down the best lasagna I’ve ever had. As a new resident of Naples, I’m thrilled to have found this gem—I’ll definitely be coming back time and time again!

Google
I usually don't leave bad reviews but this place sucked! I order chicken soup, it had a bunch of scrambled eggs in it like wtf lol. I ordered trio with lasagna & manicotti. The sauce taste like chef boyardee literally I kid you not worst italilian I've ever had, sauce was lacking flavor like no herbs or onions really anything in it. I usually go to capriccios off pine ridge ,if you want good Italian food go there instead!

Google
A lovely local Italian restaurant with borderline kitschy decor. We were a party of six on a vacation week and were able to get a table easily. Food was delicious. Notice: no pizza on the menu, which might matter if you have picky eaters. And the dessert menu is great, and written on plates. A little pricey.

Google
Wonderful place, authentic Italian food. Staff was great. We also enjoyed the accordion player who stopped by our table.

Google
When the menus suggests you have to try the meat lasagna …you try the meat lasagna and it didn’t disappoint! Hubby really enjoyed his dish as well! We well be back for more food! Salad was fresh as well! Sorry we were too hungry and ate right out of the container

Google
This is an excellent family owned italian restaurant! We tried the lazagnetta as an app, and 2 of the specials (carbonara and trio parm). All their food is super tasty and you can tell it's all home made! We will definitely go back. Don't forget to make a RESERVATION, it's always full!

Google
Great menu! Calamari appetizer was so tender and delicious. Pastas were all very tasty. Busy little place so, while service was good, it was a little slow. Decent portions and prices.

Jim L.

Yelp
Wonderful reasonably priced food with excellent service. Comfortable setting and not too loud.

Jeff N.

Yelp
Excellent service. The food was superb. Zero complaints from anyone in our party of 4.

Yelp
We count on Yelp when we are in a new area to guide us. We thought from reviews it was going to be amazing and it is just around corner from our new home. The service and Atmosphere were wonderful and from the reviews they seem to have a great local following. We were treated well. Unfortunately the food was just ok. The bread was great, but the olive oil was meh. The Braciole was rather tough and chewy and the sausage casing needed cut. My Cavatelli ranged from mushy to Al Dente. Overall definitely not a 4.5 rating. Maybe just an off night, but too many other choices that we found that are better quality food.

Corey C.

Yelp
My family absolutely loves Trattoria Mangia! The service is great but the food is amazing! I'm fairly critical of Italian food and I must say that every dish I've had here is wonderful. The homemade pastas and sauces are great! Tonight for me it was the Chicken Parmigiana feature with Pomodoro sauce. Delicious!! I wish I had taken pictures but everything was so good that I couldn't delay digging in. Thank you, Trattoria Mangia for another wonderful meal!

Alessandra V.

Yelp
my parents were obsessed with this place since last time they came to naples so obviously we came back. if you want authentic italian food with a family closeness this is the place. the bread is delicious. i got the trio dello chef and it was everyones favorite. comes with lasagna and cannelloni and manicotti. so good! we ended the night with a cannoli which was perfection.

Deborah K.

Yelp
Bread was fabulous! Service was fine. Our lasagna was mushy and need more flavor. Salad was excellent.

Yelp
After reading the reviews I figured I'd give Trattoria Mangia a try. It had these glowing reviews about its authentic Italian food and how it's a must try and you won't be disappointed blah blah blah. Well I was disappointed and actually bothered that I dropped almost $300 (which includes $55 on a bottle of wine) on some of the worse Italian food I've had in a long time. Geez where the heck do these people eat giving this place 4-5 ? I will admit I probably have higher expectations then most especially when it comes to restaurants rated 5 stars but this place is a 3 max. Olive Garden makes tastier food and that says a lot. Okay before I go off Trattoria Mangia is a cute place, nicely decorated with cute relics which gives it a cozy feeling. The staff was friendly and service was okay but none of that matters when the food is not that good. To begin with Trattoria needs to get rid of that cheap greasy, tasteless olive oil that's on the table. It's just pure garbage! Water and bread came out relatively quick. The bread was served warm and was not bad but I made the mistake of dipping it a little olive oil, salt, pepper & cheese sauce I made. The cheap flavorless olive oil just ruin it. Anyway, started off with 2 appetizers La Fragaia (fried calamari) & the Guazzetto (mussels). The Fragaia came with 2 shrimp, some calamari and a whole bunch of zucchini (all lightly battered and fried) looked great but was tasteless/bland except for the zucchini. The Guazzetto (mussels) which came in a nice fresh tasting tomato sauce was pretty good. The following entree's were ordered Penne alla Vodka - tasteless, I've had better vodka sauce out of a bottle. Veal Modo Mio - paper thin all you could taste was the breading Flounder Francese - another tasteless entree, I knew I was eating fish but very bland. Shrimp Scampi - the shrimp were good, the sauce was below average. Note: all entrees were ordered with linguine because we were told it was homemade however, the taste fell short. Your choice of salad came with each entree. We went with the Ceasar salad which did come out on a cold plate ( 1 point) however dressing tasted store bought.. Trattoria Mangia is like cruise ship food it's looks so delicious but when it hits your mouth you're like "it's terrible" I love trying new places and do rely on Yelp reviews to guide my decision but it hurts when everyone over rate's restaurants.

Yelp
Una bella amore. Make reservations or else McDonalds Owner/hostess/server is a charmer. Huggable

Evelyn T.

Yelp
GREAT Authentic Italian restaurant! The service, ambiance and food was amazing! Highly recommend.

John B.

Yelp
Great food. Great service. Real Italian food. Nice decor. Naples best Italian restaurant .

Mark S.

Yelp
A cozy venue with authentic cuisine. Best kept little secret... I would encourage people who are interest in a great meal that is reasonably priced to try this place. You won't be disappointed!

Bob D.

Yelp
One of top 5 in Naples Fl with it's numerous Italian restaurants!! Only place with Granma's original cooking. Place is inadequate in size and comfort but not enough to not matronize.

Jeremy D.

Yelp
Absolutely excellent experience. The service was excellent. Everyone was extremely friendly and attentive. The water glass never went empty. Food was delicious. My wife and I live in Boca and still cant find an Italian restaurant that we truly love and want to frequent. Too bad Trattoria Mangia is located in Naples. If it was in Boca, this would be in our regular rotation. I highly recommend and will 100% return next time im in Naples.

Ines D.

Yelp
Such an excellent dining experience. Reservations are highly recommended, because I walked in without them on a Tuesday at 4:30pm and the place was filling up fast! I was seated but told I had to be done by 5:45pm because the table was reserved for another party. The decor was cozy and inviting, the staff was super friendly and they had me in and out in no time but without rushing me. The food was excellent with very large portions. There was more than enough to take for my lunch the next day. The quality of the food was superb! My dinner came with a really fresh side salad and warm bread. If you're searching for good Italian food in the Naples area, then I highly recommend you stopping here.

Jonathan K.

Yelp
Food was terrible $27 for a parpadelle pasta with freezer burned pasta and 3 oz of sauce with 1 oz meat and 1 mushroom. Upon arrival a manager immediately asked if I needed more sauce, kinda coincidental she knew. I found meal very expensive considering the quality of food. Wondering what people are eating that are giving good reviews. I work on 5th Ave and food is a bit cheaper, but better quality. Kudos to them if they can survive with this price and quality.

James D.

Yelp
This is the best true Italian restaurant in Naples fl. Like a restaurant in amalfi.coast. Terrific food and waitstaff is the friendliest you can find. Veal Marsala was outstanding and seafood as fresh as can be. Sophia is fantastico . Make a reservation, a must.

Unique V.

Yelp
Great food and service. Thanks for having outdoor seating and avoiding spices. Too much perfume inside.

Allen H.

Yelp
$25.00-30.00 dinners deserve more than a paper napkin. Requested a cloth napkin and did get one. A 3" x3" inch of Tiramisu dessert should not cost $12.99

Yelp
Last night we unexpectedly ended up on the road home from Miami and pulled up a restaurant to eat dinner at. Mangia came up. We called and put in our name and got to the restaurant about 8. We had a wait of about 15 minutes and got seated inside. The place, inside and out, was packed, and we saw many happy faces when diners were eating. Our server was Susan and she did a good job. Our appetizer was absolutely delicious! I forgot what it was called, but it was the first thing on the menu. We shared a main course, which was pasta with Vodka sauce. It could have come out a bit hotter, and would have been better if it was, but they were slammed busy. One of my favorite things about the restaurant was the "family feel"- with the owner seating people, grabbing drinks for those waiting, and seeing if everyone was being taken care of. Toward the end of our meal a young woman came over to box up our food, and we found out she was the owner's niece, Ghia (I think), here fresh from Italy 3 weeks ago! She was beaming to be in America and we had a lovely conversation with her. Give Trattoria Mangia a try, you will probably enjoy it!

Rebecca G.

Yelp
Very nice family owned restaurant. Quaint atmosphere, outstanding service and authentic food. Highly recommend- will def be back!

Kathy M.

Yelp
Authentic, delicious food. Good service. Just a bit tight but worth it! Menu offers a great variety

John R.

Yelp
We love this place. Every single dish and every single experience. You will not be disappointed the pastas are phenomenal

Tony B.

Yelp
I finally tried Trattoria Mangia after hearing so much about the place and I think the food is OK at best. I ordered the Cavatelli di Mare and the shrimp were not tender my wife ordered the Pollo piccata which was very salty, overall not very impressed there are much better Italian restaurants in the area.

Craig B.

Yelp
Great food and pleasant service. It is always a pleasure to go to experience Italian and home made pasts

Peter R.

Yelp
Excellent. My wife and I were visiting family in Fort Lauderdale and were driving back to our hotel in Fort Meyers. We stopped along the way to grab dinner and we were both in the mood for Italian. We found this small, very unassuming, location and decided to give it a shot as the food looked great. The food was exceptional. The service was exceptional. The restaurant, while small, is very well decorated and made you feel like you were in Europe. We were both shocked at how this relatively quaint spot would have such incredible food- the owners actually travel back to Italy for a couple of months every year and to say this was authentic is an understatement. The sauces were light, but extremely flavorful and the pasta was a perfect al dente. You can tell the pasta was homemade and the quality of the food is clearly a priority for the establishment. The proteins were cooked perfectly and the calamari appetizer was exceptional. The light lemon sauce with artichoke on a lighly cooked calamari is one of the best preparations of the dish I've ever had. The dessert, Tiramisu, was so good! It's a great size portion for two people, but honestly it's so good you may want another! The server even gave us chilling instructions as were taking it back to the hotel that night. This was a genuine treat that we were not expecting. It's a bit pricey, but for what you get it's worth it. Certainly a place for a good date night or a special event.

Joanne C.

Yelp
I tried this place last year and then again this year. Both times extremely disappointing! Food lacked flavor and presentation. Calamari was like rubber rings. Looked liked it came out of a frozen bag. Veal special was drowning in a brown sauce which was supposed to be in a creamy porcini mushroom sauce. Veal was also very tough and of poor quality. Cavatelli which claims to be "homemade" was rock hard. The glass of Malbec wine tasted like it had been open for quite some time! The prices are ridiculously high for what you get and the portions are on the smaller side. We did complain to our server about the veal dish but she did absolutely nothing to make us want to come back. Teeny tiny spot in a strip mall.

Roberta R.

Yelp
Mangia offers good Italian food at reasonable prices. Nice service and atmosphere. Highly recommended

Bob D.

Yelp
Had reservations at 7:15; still sitting outside at 7:50. No excuses.... Frustrating to wait at neighborhood Italian Restaurant.

Kristin W.

Yelp
Simply not good. If you are in strip mall, you need to make up for it with exceptional food. If you're downtown, you might get away with average food. Either way, the last reviewer about the rubber calamari was correct... we didn't eat it nor our meals which we took home to be polite, but they went into the dumpster before we got home. And if a dish says it should have sun-dried tomatoes, putting in stewed tomatoes out of a can is not a substitute.

Graham Z.

Yelp
As a lover of the vodka pasta, I am here frequently! They are very good for dinner and friendly staff!

Lori A.

Yelp
This is the best Italian restaurant that I have ever experienced. The food is amazing, truly authentic & the best sauces ever. Be sure to call in advance to make a reservation, especially if you want a table outside. The staff is great & everyone makes you feel like family!

Andria F.

Yelp
This full plate hold my leftovers. Wish I could have eaten more. BROCCOLI RABE SAUSAGE AND CAVATELLI this dish was delish. Service is spot on, My husband had pasta fagoli soup, and trio pasta dish that was also a very large portion and also delicious. We highly recommend Trattoris Mangia and certainly will return.

Lisa C.

Yelp
Went with a group of friends! Reservations & sat outside. Food & service were very good!

Christine I.

Yelp
My husband and family are Italian so this is a MUST place to dine. Not everyone can satisfy the taste buds of real Italians, but for this family , they love it. Fortunately we live right around the corner.

Margo C.

Yelp
Great food, nice people! Be sure to make reservations as it is a small family run business.

Linda Marcos ..

Yelp
The food is the real deal, as is the ambiance and service. Although somewhat pricy, We'll be back. It's tough finding my moms gravy, this place gets me there every time.

Gordon S.

Yelp
Had excellent experience first visit however last night was really bad food came out really slow was cold uncooked and frozen vegetables still frozen clearly the kitchen was overwhelmed Sue our server tried really hard to make us happy and is to be commended sad

Andrea G.

Yelp

Mary Ann J.

Yelp
Delish authentic Italian food. The bolognese was my husbands fav. I over the grouper special. Small spot. Great service.

Kathy R.

Yelp
Best Italian in SWFL, true authentic Italian. They have the best chicken Alfredo. They also make everything from scratch and have amazing hospitality

Nicolette M.

Yelp
Trattoria Mangia is a tiny little place in a strip mall that was a great find! On a recommendation from my tile installer we made reservations to try it out. It was a busy place at 7:30 but by 9 it was nice and quiet. My husband and I both had the veal porcini. It was served over homemade fettuccine and was very good. We also shared a Caesar salad and we have no complaints at all. The service was great considering how busy it was. Wine list had some excellent choices not just Chianti or Super Tuscan. The decor is an interesting miss mash of Italian paraphernalia shush I thought was charming. Yes on this one!

Diana B.

Yelp
Atmosphere, friendly service, Italian song's playing and wonderful food makes this place a hidden gem

Robert W.

Yelp
The food was ok not as good as I expected. For the neighborhood it caters to definitely overpriced. The service though was very good. I may try it again and maybe another dish might be more flavorful. I had dinner that should have had a lot of flavor but was very bland.

Ed W.

Yelp
Trattoria Mangia is awesome! Great ambiance and excellent service that goes perfectly with their homestyle cooking. From the moment you walk in you can help but feel the warmth and coziness of this place. Seriously... just like walking into a friends home. The wine list isn't big but has a little bit of everything. Dinner was great and plates are pretty big. Fried Calamari: perfect crunch and it comes with fried zucchini and the sauce is light and tangy. Fresh fish: grilled and comes with veggies or other 2 sides of your choice. Veal porcini: Delicious, lots of mushrooms and the sauce is creamy ... not heavy. The place gets packed so plan ahead.it isn't a big restaurant and people here come to eat and talk.... there is no rush when you are at Mangia's table. Definitely a great place to come and have dinner with friends and family.

Donald B.

Yelp
Great place to eat in Naples. Authentic Italian food made with love. You can't go wrong here, we go back every time we're back in Naples.

Art K.

Yelp
Triple pleasure with great food, service and cool ambiance. We had very attentive waiter/waitress.

Lori M.

Yelp
The chicken piccata was inedible. It was overcooked while the pasta it was served on was undercooked.

Peter B.

Yelp
Mangia's is a smaller restaurant, but it was packed for a Wednesday evening with pouring rain. We thought they'd have cancelations because of the weather . . . No such luck. Every table was filled when we were there from 7-8:30. Al fresco dining seemed popular because all the tables outside were full. We had reservations and we waited less than 10 minutes. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere was pleasant and the food was absolutely amazing! We had veal modo mio, cheese ravioli and their fish. The most impressive food we've had in Naples for a locals favorite hangout. Our dishes averaged about $25 each and so worth it. Don't miss the family owned gem. Will return weekly.

Anne T.

Yelp
Tiny place. Get a reservation if it's hot outside. Sitting on the sidewalk next to a gym and a nail salon and Aldi as the anchor of the shopping center is not my idea of "dining" but I will make an exception for this food. Stopped to try it on the way back from the airport. No tables inside so we sat out with the parking lot view. With food like that who cares. Eggplant with homemade pasta was the best and that's my go to dish for all Italian. My husband had the fish special and it too was outstanding. If it's not extremely busy the chef will make you anything you want if he has the fresh ingredients. A tiny little gem tucked away at the end of a strip mall. Some times you've got to be brave.

Manhattan B.

Yelp
Horrible service. Horrible food - unless you like cold "made to order" pasta. And horrible experience. Save your time and money and go anywhere but this place.
