I have been here once before, when it first opened and we enjoyed the visit. The only gripe we had was that it was very loud. We talked up the restaurant to our friends and were looking forward to coming back. We had friends come in from out of town and thought this was the perfect opportunity to revisit.
Big mistake. We ordered mozzarella sticks, which came with the smallest drizzle of red sauce I've ever seen. The flavor was decent, but so dry. I asked for extra sauce, and none came. I Asked two more times, and by the time I got it, the appetizer was cold. Strike one.
I ordered chicken parmigiana and subbed the spaghetti for a penne style noodle. The food was pretty bland. They didn't tenderize the cutlets, and the breading was on the burned side. Strike 2.
When the bill arrived, they overcharged us for the chicken. Charged $5 to switch the noodles, charged $17 for a glass of the house cab, and a whopping $23 for a Manhattan. Strike 3.
To be honest, the service was subpar. The food was just ok. It was so loud that we could not talk to each other comfortably, and the prices were outrageous. The one positive thing I have to say about the experience is that the gentleman at the host stand was very pleasant and quick to smile. Thank you for that.
The icing on the cake however, is the next morning I was violently ill. My husband seemed ok, so I thought it was just me until my friend messaged me and said his wife, who got the same dish except with veal instead of chicken, was also very sick all morning. I will not be returning.
