Trattoria Rosa Bianca is an authentic Italian BYOB located in a charming Victorian home in the heart of Yardley. The family-owned restaurant has a variety of seasonal menus showcasing delicacies from all over Italy.
At lunch, most of their pasta dishes are offered in full or half size portions, which is fabulous especially if you also want to try their homemade soups or variety of appetizers.
I shared the Spuma di Ricotta ($12), made of light & mildly sweet, homemade whipped ricotta cheese, local honey, pistachios, & crispy, buttery perfect, pecorino crostini. Two people can easily share this dish - (I took home half of the ricotta & used it at home for a flat version of eggplant rollatini!)
My friend enjoyed the Polpi - roasted octopus, crispy potatoes, ceci, & baby arugula.
For my entree, I chose the 1/2 portion of the Spaghetti with Homemade Sausage & Ricotta cheese. The portion was huge & I had the other half for dinner the next night. The sausage was delicious- coarse cut inside with lots of fennel, garlic, & red pepper flakes in a red sauce. The pasta was topped with a generous dollop of ricotta cheese, which helped calm the palate from the heat of the sausage. Perfect.
Another friend was seriously impressed with the presentation & execution of the Salmone Al Cartoccio, a salmon filet steamed in parchment with asparagus, potatoes, artichokes, lemon & thyme. ($30.) The fish was perfectly cooked & the delicate aromas filled the air when the parchment was cut open.
We were all too full for dessert.
This is a gem of a restaurant with a creative menu, seasonal menus, fresh ingredients, and real talent in the kitchen. The service is efficient, helpful, & not imposing.
I also just found out that Monday & Tuesday evenings they offer a 3-course meal for $25.00. You cannot do much better anywhere.
