Travelers Thali House Will Close In June - Eater Seattle

"Travelers Thali House — the popular all-vegetarian Indian restaurant that has been in Beacon Hill since 2011 — recently announced on its official Facebook page that it will be closing soon. June 1-2 will be the final weekend of service for the restaurant, known best for its vegetable-filled thali platters: small stainless steel bowls filled with combinations of butter dal, smoky mashed eggplant, fried okra, and other Indian specialties." - Gabe Guarente

Cute place serving average Indian food. The servers were not at all in a good mood the day we went. They were quite rude and not helpful at all. Their menu is quite different and has the potential of being amazing, I wish I got what I imagined seeing the menu. they also have a little pantry, where you can buy some basic spices and other grocery.

A quaint lovely place serving Indian cuisine. Though the name says thali, which is their speciality, they have an alacarte menu. The food is excellent : not your typical Indian fare. Wish the service was also on par. The staff are friendly, but getting attention and food does take time.

Pretty close to authentic Indian home made food... only less spicy. Only reason for deducting a star is chapati.. it was frozen one. Had full size thali, and i was able to finish it along with a lassi. Staff was super friendly. All in all I will come back again. Forget to mention.. salty lassi was pretty spicy and one of the best I've had recently. Edit: bumping to 5 start after my 2nd visit. Don't miss Seattle's best salt lassi.

One of the best indian food places I have ever been to in USA. Its a new regional taste every month and the preparations are tasty and worth a shot. Definitely recommended!!

Loved it. The food didnt have the oily quality found in a lot of other restaurants. It allhad such a fresh "homecooked" feel. The restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere and the people there feel comforting if that makes any sense. Their samosas are the best somosas I've ever had.

Good food. Lack spices a bit, but I can’t blame the chef as it’s based on how people prefer in States. Good thing is they serve / cook freshly prepared meals. So when we asked for thali we had to wait 1 hour . Exactly!!!! That too during the time of LUNCH on weekend. So be prepared for that. Pack some snacks which if you wnna go over there. Apart from that it’s an authentic restaurant. both special thali and normal Punjabi thali are good. I would go for a war for the gulab jamun they serve. :) PS: Kindly like the review if you find this helpful. Thank You

We ordered assorted pakora, a banana lassi and 2 full thali. The pakora were really nice. The thali was presented really well, however, the taste was average.
