Tre Lune Hollywood - Review - Hollywood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Tre Lune is an all-day Italian spot in Hollywood with an original location in Montecito. Perhaps eating mediocre pizza and salad that tastes straight from the bag is more forgivable when Meghan Markle and Oprah are near, but on Sycamore Avenue, they make for a boring meal. The warehouse-like dining room is cold and echoey with oversized stock photos of people eating pasta on the wall. Tre Lune’s best feature is the bar, which is open all day, and the only place in the neighborhood where you can drink a negroni at 1pm. If you’re looking for a late afternoon drink, Tre Lune is a decent option. But if you’re hungry, keep walking. Food Rundown Mistcanza Baked goat cheese over grilled tomatoes tastes pretty good, but at $21, they don’t make up for the side of sad mixed greens that belong in a supermarket salad kit. photo credit: Brant Cox Diavola This is not blatantly offensive pizza, but it’s also deeply unmemorable. The crust is thin and a bit dry, and although it’s topped with chiles and spicy sausage, there’s no heat whatsoever. photo credit: Brant Cox Fettuccini Mare e Monti If we’re going to spend $44 on pasta with lobster in it, we want to see said lobster without the help of reading glasses. This bowl does not meet that requirement. photo credit: Brant Cox" - Brant Cox

LA’s New Restaurant Openings

"Tre Lune, a longtime Italian restaurant from Montecito, has opened a new location in Hollywood. The monochrome dining room has white brick walls and a bunch of black-and-white artwork, while the menu features classic staples, like a margherita pizza, fettuccine alfredo, and chicken marsala." - cathy park

Google
Great place! Happy to have this restaurant just around the corner, true Italian feel , great old fashion and pasta , professional stuff and they have balsamic, salt and pepper on the table all the time , important for me and pretty rear in LA Was great to seat half outside half inside , fresh air but still comfy and not cold. Highly recommended

Google
A cute setting in an upcoming hip area. However, the food was very disappointing. At such high prices, one would expect a much higher standard. I don't like to give negative reviews, but they definitely need to up their game. We decided to try it after seeing the five star reviews, which are obviously very inaccurate. Their pizza is quite good and the server Gaby was very sweet and eager.

Tre Lune Hollywood is a delightful addition to the Sycamore District, seamlessly blending Montecito charm with Hollywood flair. From the moment we arrived, the staff—owner, Maitre D, and staff welcomed us with genuine warmth, making us feel like long time customers rather than first-time visitors. Our table by the fireplace added a romantic touch, perfect for an intimate evening. I began with the homemade Caesar salad, a refreshing start featuring crisp romaine, anchovy fillets, and savory pizza-bread points that elevated the classic dish. The minestrone soup followed, a hearty and flavorful medley that proved the best way to enjoy your vegetables is in a bowl of this comforting soup. The menu offers a variety of Italian favorites. The Gnocchi Tartufati—pillowy potato dumplings in a truffle cream sauce—are a standout, delivering rich, earthy flavors that linger pleasantly. The Linguine alle Vongole, with fresh Manila clams in a delicate white wine sauce, showcases simplicity and elegance in perfect harmony. While we skipped dessert this time, the house-made options like tiramisu and cannoli are tempting enough to warrant a return visit. The restaurant also features a charming back room with a wood-burning pizza oven and a five-seat pizza bar, ideal for private events or a cozy dining experience. Tre Lune’s Hollywood location captures the essence of its Montecito predecessor, offering a chic yet comfortable atmosphere adorned with black-and-white portraits and warm wood accents. It’s a perfect spot for date nights, special celebrations, or simply indulging in authentic Italian cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in Los Angeles.

We had an amazing evening at Tre Lune in Hollywood! We were thrilled to be seated right away for our party of four. The ambiance is ideal for both a romantic date night or a nice family meal, exuding warmth and charm. We enjoyed the Margherita pizza, a delightful salad, chicken parmigiana, tiramisu, chocolate mousse, and a carajillo to round out the meal—each dish was phenomenal. The pizza boasted a perfect crust with vibrant, fresh flavors, the chicken parmigiana was succulent and expertly crafted, and the tiramisu + mousse were clearly made with love. The carajillo added a delightful finish to the night. The staff was welcoming and attentive, elevating the entire experience. Easy parking was a nice touch, making the visit seamless. Tre Lune is a true find, and we’re already excited for our next trip. Highly recommend this spot for anyone seeking exceptional Italian fare!

Google
Tre Lune is a delight. The atmosphere is open and charming, the host and servers are warm and classy, but all of that is overshadowed by the SPECTACULAR food. I went with my boyfriend and parents, who are Italian food snobs, and we all left impressed. The buffalo mozzarella was bright and delicious, the tomatoes in the salad were sweet and meaty and delicious, and margherita pizza transported us back to Florence. We tried a couple cocktails and wines and all surpassed expectation. The street is quiet with plentiful free street parking right out front as well. I’m tempted to keep this a hidden gem in Hollywood, but it was honestly too enjoyable not to share!

Google
I love this place! I’ve been twice and both times have been excellent. The food is pricey, yes, but all nice Italian restaurants in this neighborhood are pricey. The prices aren’t misaligned to the neighborhood average for this style of restaurant. The chicken parmigiana is fantastic! Thinly breaded, just the right amount of marinara and cheese. The Chilean sea bass special was also delicious. Service has always been great. The little indoor/outdoor alcove in front is very charming and cozy with the fireplace. The sidewalk tables are also cute. Definitely a go-to spot for a special occasion.

Google
Everything from start to finish from the service, hospitality, and atmosphere was phenomenal. We used to drive up to Montecito to visit their location there often and it’s great to not have to make the trip when we crave Tre Lune now. If you’re looking for a great date night spot with attentive service and a beautiful, relaxed, upscale vibe look no further. We sat outdoors and really enjoyed it.

Google
Excellent meal created by Chef Juan Carlos and his staff. Friendly service and an amazing meal and atmosphere. Started with the beef carpaccio and Tre Lune Salad, and then had the pepperoni pizza and a delicious pasta dish with spicy sausage. Desert was creme Brule and tiramisu. Great first week of service for this brand new restaurant. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Beautiful atmosphere and excellent service, upscale yet comfortable, with truly great vibes. The food was outstanding. I wish I remembered the name of the appetizer our wonderful server, Kyra (hope I spelled that right), recommended, because it was unforgettable. A must-try is the tableside Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe: creamy, flavorful, and so satisfying you don't even need a protein. The Linguine ai Gamberi was another highlight, each ingredient shining on the palate in perfect balance. And whatever you do, don't skip the tiramisu, light, not overpowering, with just the right blend of cream and espresso. Absolute chef's kiss. Can't wait to to be back!

Yelp
Great location in Hollywood. The food was excellent as was the service. They offer patio seating and a wide menu selection of Italian favorites.

Yelp
A fantastic new addition to the block. The chef is dishing out incredible plates. The bartender, staff and management are fantastic with the customers and since it looks like Gigi's is closed now. Ugh! This could be the new spot on the block. The cocktail I ordered was spectacular. I ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes in a lemon sauce with capers - incredible! Everything's a little spaced out in the dining area, but once the lights came down, it tightened up the atmosphere and made everything a little more intimate. Will be back for sure!

Yelp
The Montecito location has always been a favorite of ours, even though it's a bit of a drive. So I was thrilled to hear they were opening a spot just 30 minutes away! We celebrated my birthday weekend at the new Hollywood location, and it was everything I hoped for and more. The staff was absolutely phenomenal, warm, attentive, and welcoming. While the menu isn't exactly the same as Montecito's, the gnocchi alone was worth the visit. Truly out of this world! I was enjoying myself so much I didn't even take a photo

Yelp
Such a fantastic Italian experience. Charcuterie board was amazing, pasta impeccable. Great wine list and amazing dessert. Service was incredible.

Yelp
It goes to show when SB restaurants try to make it to the big city they are are strong minor team just not ready to play in the big leagues. We really like this restaurant in SB, but the beauty of that city kinda adds to the overall experience and makes you think it's better than it is. A bit of an illusion. We love the location on syacamorand really hope that they take some time to better finesse the food and take some of the great simple gastronomy from the now closed neighbor Gigi's. We'll be back to enjoy the first class bar and keep our fingers crossed the food catches up.

Yelp
Great, warm service, good food and best vibes. We were there for a super early dinner at 5p. Started with the frittura mista di pesce and had burgers for main - washed it down with great martinis made by Aaron. It was a terrific afternoon.

Yelp
There are plenty of classic and fresh choices of pasta, and all of the choices are great. The sauce always has very textured flavor that complements the pasta perfectly. The service is very warm to complement the great ambience. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I've walked by Tre Lune so many times and I'm glad I finally gave it a try. My partner and I went last night and everything was excellent. We were pleasantly surprised since we hadn't heard anyone talking about it. I had the Linguine ai Gamberi and he had the Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe. Both dishes were delicious. I can't wait to go back and explore more of the menu.

Yelp
Love this new neighborhood spot! The area is lacking for a nice place to do a business lunch but Tre Lune is perfect. Beautiful atmosphere, great music, lovely table settings and a nice patio. The food was excellent, tasty and fast. I had a Caesar salad and we all shared a pizza. Pizza had a beautiful thin crust. Salad was fresh and very tasty. Service was attentive and friendly. My new fave!

Yelp
I was excited to try this place. The restaurant is really well done with great ambiance. It feels a bit like you're in NY. I was definitely disappointed in the food though. Very average and very overpriced. If I'm going to pay 40$ for a bowl of pasta there's other places I'll go to. A couple dishes we had were pretty good but really not worth it. Service was ok. It's new so maybe it will improve but most likely won't be going back.

Jasmin H.

Yelp
Was expecting something very good after hearing that it was new and from other reviews relatively good. Once we got to the restaurant it was extremely bright inside at 8:30pm. Which was very unromantic. We got a dish that had a long white hair in it, the waitress took back the dish didn't apologize and acted as though it was normal. After we got the bill, the dish wasn't even complimentary till we said something again that there being hair in the food. The food was ok. Honestly they need to work on the ambiance greatly. It felt like a dining hall. :/ wish I was able to leave a happier result. Hope they take this feedback seriously and make a better impression for others.
