Enjoyed a very good lunch here during the Troy Restaurant Days 2012. Although pricey, the food is excellent from the soup and the bread, and the butter that goes with it, to the main entrée and the dessert. Everything was delicious. The wait staff was also very good with no need to ask for more water and with the service being updated before the next course emerged from the kitchen. The atmosphere was quite nice as well with wonderful decorations, soft lighting, and light piano music playing in the background.

I knew of Tre Monti from friends, they told me to check it out if I wanted a fine dining experience. To my amazement Tre Monti was everything and more than what I expected. I told the wait staff that they were like the Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons of dining. They pulled your chair out and sat you every time you left your seat, placed a napkin in your lap, and everyone wore suits and ties. In addition they didn't rush you or check in every five minutes. It felt very European. In Europe they let you enjoy your meal with your date or friends and don't bother you like many restaurants here do. All you have to do in order to get your waiters attention is give a head nod and they're on you right away. The food was good, many interesting plates but what I was most impressed about was the atmosphere and service. The manger came to our table when he noticed we wanted a photo and took one immediately. He was very warm and cheerful. I highly recommend this for an intimate night out, as I came here for a day late Valentines dinner. Just be sure to realize this will be an expensive night out but well wroth it. Also dress up, if you do not you'll feel very out classed and may even be asked to leave, I'm not 100% sure but I would not chance it. I hope this helps. AJ was my waiter.

We have been to TreMonte several times and been very pleased. We loved it so much, we recommended it to several others. But last night we were very disappointed. there were four of us that went. We were very disappointed in the menu. I don't know when it changed, but I think it could have been a lot better. Two of us ordered the Veal Ravioli and though it was tasty, the quantity was more like an appetizer, not a dinner. The other two ordered Rib Eye and it was ok, but nothing to rave about, and it was supposed to come with roasted vegetables and potatoes, it came with potatoes, no vegetables. Someone is not paying attention. So disappointed.

What I thought would be a fabulous evening turned out to be a huge disappointment. There were only 5 people in the whole restaurant. The lighting was bright, music inappropriate, the waiter brought the birthday girl the wrong dinner, then argued that's what she ordered, my side was brought out as an appetizer and we had to wait forever for our check. The food was good but not great.

Google
Went to Tre to celebrate my Mom and Dads anniversary. Wait staff friendly and attentive. The food very pricey, which is fine, but when the food is just ok, then it's not acceptable. The ceasar salad was suppose to be in a light crisy parmesan bowl..couldn't even break a piece off, the salad not what we were expecting, very dull in flavor...prawns ..overcooked and dry...not sure what was in the mashed potatoes, but also lacking in flavor....I know presentation is on many chefs minds these days, but to order a $70 rib eye and have 5 slices of the steak on your plate....please...When trying to have high end restaurants....yes the wait staff holds up, but the food is what is expected to be outstanding...will not return

Google
I made a reservation to celebrate my wife and I's 25th wedding anniversay. When I arrived, I discovered the restaurant was closed to the public that evening. Why, I wonder, did they accept my reservation? I can understand the restaurant being closed for a special occasion, but I cannot understand why they accepted my reservation (they even e-aMailed me to confirm the reservation). If something changed, the least Tre Monti could have done was contact me to cancel the reservation. I did not appreciate the embarrassment to my wife and I to arrive for dinner and then be turned away. The person I talked to told me they had not record of my reservation which is a mystery to me since I did receive a reservation confirmation. A very disappointing and embarrassing way to celebrate one's 25th wedding anniversary.

Google
Excellent Don't expect to order traditional Cesar salad or tiramisu .Most of every thing is nontraditional and that makes this place more interesting than any other and that is very good .Attentive wait staff , great food A spectacular menu from pasta to fish and don't forget ambiance and decor are very appealing .Love this place they really deserve the price just received at our magazine best restaurant of the year Definitely we will be back

Yelp
Incredible food! The shrimp and calamari fritti was perfectly cooked. Especially loved the shrimp!! Both the bolognese and la nonna were delicious. The handmade pasta was the cherry on top! Pumpkin tiramisu (seasonal dessert) was like eating autumn in a single bite. Great flavors for a November night! Only downside of the experience was the loud main dining room. It was a full room with seemingly nothing to absorb the sound. Overall, I can't wait to return and try more dishes!

Yelp
Antica Nova is tucked behind the San Marino club and has been updated to a modern Italian restaurant. We arrived with a reservation and were seated promptly, the crowd was diverse with families, friend gatherings, and couples of all ages. Our service overall was fine, not particularly attentive or friendly but it was end of the dinner rush on the weekend and it seemed she was juggling a few larger parties so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. What does bother me was our server was not well educated on the allergens and made no initiative to find out. My allergy is mild and only when consumed so I stuck with foods I knew were safe but I could never recommend Antica Nova to any of my family who have more severe allergies because I have no faith the staff is properly trained or cares. The sommelier, however, was very knowledgeable and came to our table with great recommendations when they were out of a wine my boyfriend chose. The food is good but I wasn't thinking about it anytime after. Usually a really good meal has me telling everyone about it and thinking about it the next day, but this was just fine. We would go back and try it again but are in no rush. I appreciate they had a vegan section which made ordering easy, it's actually one of the reasons we chose to come here. The bruschetta was hard to eat due to the chunks of artichoke, I was expecting a more finely diced topping but it was delicious and well prepared. Our entrees were good, but average. I was happy to see the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. It's a space that is often neglected but can really ruin a dining experience when overlooked. There's a lot of thought into the ambiance, styling and aesthetic of the restaurant which is nice but I would love to see the overall service and food match it.

Yelp
The building is stunning -- clearly it must have been something significant before, and it's worth a visit just to see the space. Unfortunately, the service and atmosphere didn't quite live up to the impressive setting. We came as an 8-top and started at the bar. The solo bartender was clearly overwhelmed managing a 30-plus seat bar. She spent more time dealing with the computer than actually making drinks, which slowed everything down. At this price point, management should consider how that affects the mood -- in a good crowd, a lost shot of Tito's here and there is just the cost of doing business. Our server at the table was young and just okay -- polite but not particularly engaging. We ordered a variety of appetizers and pastas. Everything was good, and prices were reasonable. It's solid Italian if you're there for pasta, though I didn't see any of the steaks to judge that side of the menu. Desserts were a mixed bag. The tiramisu and cheesecake looked underwhelming but tasted fine. The cannoli had an odd crunch, which I think was granulated sugar that hadn't been fully incorporated. One big miss for me was the lighting in the dining area -- bright LEDs that really detract from the cozy, romantic atmosphere you'd expect in a nice Italian restaurant. Overall: Good food, mid-level service, and slightly under-mid ambience.

Yelp
I really enjoyed it. We had a good sized group, about a dozen. Everyone's food looked great. The calamari was awesome, the bread, fantastic. I had the veal parm. Man it was so good. I need to go back and try the organic made in house pasta, heard rave reviews around the table. Service was exceptional. It's off the street behind the San Moreno club so not really visible from the street-gps it, worth the effort. Oh, the cannoli! Mama Mia, Holy Cannoli!!!

Yelp
Hands down, my favorite restaurant. Antica Nova is that rare mix of elevated and effortlessly cool. The service is always immaculate--everyone there is real, raw, and genuinely kind. You feel taken care of in the best way. Whether you're posted up at the bar or dining under the string lights on their stunning patio, the atmosphere is just beautiful. And the food? Out. Of. This. World. I've had nearly everything on the menu at this point-- the veal parm is a knockout, the rabbit pasta is unforgettable, the gnocchi melts in your mouth, and don't sleep on the grilled Caesar or the seafood risotto. You literally can't go wrong. Antica Nova isn't just a restaurant--it's an experience, and one that keeps calling me back.

Yelp
I've been here a few times since they've had new ownership. This has been the best Italian yet for this building. The waiter recommended the Tagliatelle Bolongese. It was bland and watery. We also tried the chef special of the Fettuccine Norcina. It was good. It could have been better with larger sausage crumble. The truffle was very mild. Apps -The Octopus, shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly. The pepper sauce was unique. It would have been nice to have a lemon wedge with the antipasti. The seafood needed more tart to the finish. The must order that will bring me back to this restaurant - Tartufo. My friend had the Cassarece. I came back for the Gnocchi. The Tartufo sauce is well balanced and mouth watering. Truly a prize truffle in this dish. This is entree the wait staff should recommend. A perfect end to the meal was the Creme Brulee. We will def be back.

Yelp
One of our favorites in Michigan. Thank you for having lots of vegetarian and vegan. Delicious and nice atmosphere.

Yelp
Authentic Italian cuisine in a beautiful setting. Loved that the chef came out to chat and offer recommendations a nice personal touch. I'll definitely be returning!

Yelp
A "Hidden Gem", a slice of Italy, ANTICA NOVA, located directly behind the San Marino Club on Big Beaver in Troy. From the amazing food, the excellent service, and ambiance, Chef Anthony Giannola's passion for Italian cuisine makes every visit feel like a family gathering. Highly recommended!

Yelp
very nice, food is fantastic and waitress very knowledgeable. The dishes are all organic and everything is made fresh

Yelp
Newer restaurant in the area. We visited on a Tuesday night at 8pm and only 3 other tables there. Our server Scott was very nice. We started with the bread basket and dipping oil and it was delicious. We got beef tips for the appetizer and they were cooked perfectly but the zip sauce was lacking flavor. For dinner I had the veal limone and it was excellent. My friends both ordered filet and were happy with them. Lastly we shared a pistachio cheesecake and it was very good. I would definitely return and try more of the menu

Yelp
Right from the start that me and my partner stepped in this restaurant we we're seated and helped right away the service was amazing, Servers were very polite. Food was 10/10 super delicious with lots of flavor, menu was unique in my opinion I have never had anything that I saw on the menu. Well served no to much or to small portions, cocktail's incredible definitely recommend.
google avatar

Tamara K.

Yelp
The food was decent Italian but no adjustments can be made to what you order. No substituting pasta for potatoes. No customizing the cocktails. And the restaurant is too expensive for that. No type of accommodations made and that isn't a good experience to me.

R Z.

Yelp
I have been here a number of different times & days. It has never disappointed!!! The food is wonderful! The service is excellent. My husband & I always recommend the restaurant & friends & family respond back to us w only good things & thank you for the recommendation. It is one of our favorites!

Yelp
The food was amazing. The atmosphere was very nice and the ambience was great. The decor was very chic. I will definitely go back and I will recommend it to my family and friends.

Yelp
The setting remains one of the best in the area. I am happy that someone is again making use of the old Tre Monti space. The hostess was gracious and the waiting area before we were seated was warm (with a fireplace) and comfortable. Walking to our table, we passed the station where they fresh-cut prosciutto to order. Our server was friendly and helpful throughout the meal, despite the fact that he also had a large table next to us. The manager came over and helped my date special-order a dish from the menu, as she was trying to avoid any breading. The food and the pacing were all excellent. The only downside I saw was a limited cocktail menu that could probably use some updating.
google avatar

Renee N.

Yelp
The ambiance is nice in the main dinning area. They love pistachio in their food, the pistachio cheesecake is pretty average. It's basic Italian food, unfortunately really nothing to ride home about. The wait staff are phenomenal!

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic new restaurant. You feel the wow factor from the minute you walk in. The ceilings are high and the decor is amazing. There were four of us. Three of us had a different pasta dish and the fourth person had salmon. We were all extremely pleased with our entrees. The food was reasonably priced. We will be back and I highly recommend you try Antica Nova if you share our passion for unique Italian food.

Judy A.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant. Amazing cocktails. Authentic Italian menu. Our server Mirna was very knowledgeable about the menu. Food was delicious

Yelp
It was just a subpar experience from start to finish. Made a reservation for anniversary dinner. Had to wait for the table for a while, thinking they were busy with dinner rush but the restaurant was empty. The service was off putting, like we were a bother. The drinks were delicious and probably only reason to go back for. The food was bland, unappetizing. Not sure why the vegan vegetable option was more expensive that the chicken dish. Never got the desert menu, and when we finally asked for the check, they mentioned that it was our anniversary. We won't be surprised if the place is closed in the next year.

Linda C.

Yelp
I ordered pasta and asked for sauce on the side and the kitchen said they would not do it. They said the pasta would be sticky-I said that would be fine but they still would not leave the sauce off. I generally order the sauce on the side and have never been to a restaurant that would not accommodate. I agreed to light sauce, but unfortunately, when it came out, it had too much sauce for my taste. Disappointed they could not accommodate a simple request.

Yelp
Six of us went for a birthday dinner. Antica Nova is a cross between a family restaurant and a more upscale restaurant (which is what it wants to be). The food was okay, nothing WOW about it. The appetizers (Caprese, Calamari, & Arancini) were mediocre, the bolognese was bland, the best meal ordered was the Veal Parm. The waiter was very pleasant but the service was very slow. There are too many other good Italian options in metro Detroit for me to go back here.

Arthur O.

Yelp
Ambience was incredible service top notch food was terrific. I had a vegan crisp bruschetta that was very unique a grilled Caesar salad with an excellent addition long time ago became the new fat but now you can't find it anywhere I loved it. I had some veal and chicken, veal salt and Boca and a little chicken masala again exceptional.
google avatar

Howard S.

Yelp
We got there and they told us it was closed for a private party. We did not see that info on their website. We were disappointed.
google avatar

Deborah D.

Yelp
Met some girlfriends for happy hour and enjoyed the bruschetta, caprese and calamari. Will definitely be back with my husband for date night to further explore the menu. Service was great and the ambiance was lovely.

Yelp
Arrived at 5:20 on Friday, we wanted to check out the happy hour. 6 hosts standing at stand when walking in, they told us the only place they serve happy hour is literally at the bar and they could put two chairs all the way at the end (looking at a wall with wine bottles) not very appealing. All the while, had many two tops in bar area , asked if we could sit there. She said she had to go ask the manager and he said no. The only table for walk-ins is over by the fireplace and can't order happy hour at all. Decided to try the table and order dinner. It was very close to fire and the only other table in restaurant part , it was probably 80° in that location 2 feet from the fireplace. We asked the waiter if we could move or turn down fireplace and once again had to ask a manager and was told that's the only table in whole restaurant for walk-ins. Seems very strange in there and the vibe is off . I don't think anyone ever asked the manager. There's a lot of people just standing around waiting for tables and not many patrons. Can't comment on the food because we left went down the street to Cooper's Hawk and had a wonderful dinner . Obviously won't be back and would not recommend to others

Tom J.

Yelp
Great food and service at a reasonable price. I will definety return to Antica Nova.

Kathy V.

Yelp
We had a fantastic happy hour with a group of friends this week. The calamari is absolutely delicious, and also includes some shrimp, which is really unique! We also ordered the trio of bruschetta - caprese, artichoke and mushroom, and ratatouille. $10 glasses of wine, beautiful ambience, and authentic Italian offerings. Highly recommended for an after-work meet up!

Heather H.

Yelp
First time in for myself and my fiancé We had a reservation but decided to stay at the bar because Lo was SO sweet and had us laughing the entire night she really is something special, she took a million photos of us and gave a tour of the building and guided us through the menu with patience and honest opinions. The calamari was incredible, we loved the lamb chops and the Prosecco chicken dish! we chased our tequila shots with minestrone soup broth (first time for everything, we loved it ) The aesthetic of the building is gorgeous, the staff are playful and obviously very close friends, this is our new weekly date spot! 10/10, we love Antica Nova!
google avatar

Kristina A.

Yelp
The restaurant in itself was nice and the main dining had a good ambience, but that's where it ends. We started off with drinks, dirty martinis with blue cheese, stuffed olives didn't know that we were gonna be charged extra for olives in our drink $17 to be exact... I don't know everywhere else I go usually are included with the drink cost at $16-$20 a drink. That's ridiculous! Then we started with appetizers. We had the seafood salad, which is an embarrassment for what they give not only was it not good but $21 for three pieces of shrimp and three scallops kind of obscene and go to DonFrancesco's and get a huge seafood salad for $28 that could feed for And it's good then we went to our entrées, which all of it included potatoes like the other reviewer said no adjustments could be made no substitutions no add-ons kind of ridiculous for a high-end restaurant that you can't make dietary adjustments but here we are. Potatoes that came with the entrée raw for all four of us. Entrées were OK at best, not worth the price at all for fine dining. We told the waitress about our potatoes being raw and offered us lemon cello shots, which were not that great the whole experience was kind of disappointing. This is a one and done and never again!

Emily G.

Yelp
Amazing food and drinks, great atmosphere, bartender had good dad jokes. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

Yelp
I've been here twice. The food was great. The drinks fantastic. For a brand new restaurant they have their act together.
google avatar

Cheryl C.

Yelp
The food was excellent. Our party of eight enjoyed the charcuterie board, fried calamari and shrimp, and bruschetta along with the great bread with olive oil dipping sauce. The EVOO was bright green with minced garlic. Exceptional. The seafood pasta in white sauce was exceptional with fresh baby claims and mussels in the shells, shrimp, and scallops over spaghetti. The bolognese sauce was served over homemade noodles. The fettuccine Alfredo was served table side in the authentic manner (no cream). The veal was excellent. The tiramisu was generous and worthy of sharing. Service was a bit slow, except for the water which was refreshed quickly. The ambiance was excellent, but the acoustics were poor.

Sarah K.

Yelp
This review is for multiple carry out experiences. We were excited for a new, higher end Italian restaurant to replace Cantoro. Unfortunately, Antica Nova has been disappointing. First, the carryout process is extremely difficult. The staff answering the phones do not seem to know the menu, and have difficulty taking the order (it took 15 minutes to place our most recent order). Second, the portions are minuscule. The gnocchetti al piacere, with truffle, for $30 with no protein, didn't even cover the bottom of a very small takeout container. The $15 caprese consisted of 4 tomato slices, 2 very small pieces of mozzarella and 2 small pieces of basil. The most basic home chef could make a more impressive caprese in their own kitchen. $100 for 3 tiny dishes that leave you still hungry. Third, the process of picking up the order is chaotic. The food hasn't been ready at the quoted times, and somehow, it is received cold. The first experience was fair, the food had decent flavor and we wanted to give it a second try. We will not be returning customers, I would not be surprised to see this restaurant close before Christmas.

Bridget M.

Yelp
We gathered for a fabulous meal last night at Antica Nova and it was a wonderful experience! The staff was excellent - attentive and gracious. The wines selected were perfect with our appetizers and entrees and served with care. The food was beautifully plated and delicious. We will be back ---- soon! Bridget M.

Yelp
My husband and I visited for one of our first date nights out since having our baby. I was feeling quite tense and nervous being away from the baby but that quickly changed after getting swept up in conversation with our bartender, Lauren. She was so bubbly and personable and didn't make me feel like a burden for asking a thousand questions. The ambiance of the place was gorgeous and made for a relaxing meal. Food was really good and we will definitely be returning!

Diana T.

Yelp
Food was good. Went for a private event, service was slow. We were delivered wrong food but it got corrected. Great atmosphere it's a cute spot.

John J.

Yelp
This was our second visit in two weeks, and our meal was perfect. Food is tasty and plentiful. Our favorite server Katrina executed a flawless service. We sat at the bar while our table was prepared and had a great conversation with the bartender about scotch whisky. We were celebrating our anniversary and this was the perfect place. Can't wait to go back!

Delanie D.

Yelp
I've celebrated both my birthday and my younger sister's birthday here, and each time has been nothing short of perfect. Anthony and his team handled every detail and unexpected situation with professionalism, grace, and genuine care. The atmosphere is stunning, the service is exceptional, and the food is consistently phenomenal. Truly the best restaurant in Metro Detroit -- a place that makes every occasion feel special. Highly recommend!

Dino's L.

Yelp
Had the pleasure of going to Antica Nova's for Apericena (Happy Hour) yesterday. The service was wonderful and there were so many great options! Fun craft cocktails & wine by the glass were just $10. The food was outstanding, the appetizers were literally enough for a full meal. I'll be back, for sure. Highly recommend!

Karen Z.

Yelp
Awesome food and service I had the scallops so so good Loved the bartenders to best Martinis

Yelp
Great authentic Italian food. Simple to elegant, there's something for everyone on the menu. Grilled seafood salad was great, so were the gnocchi. Loved the lemon cake dessert. I've been a few times now, trying new things each time, and they've all been delicious. The design and decor of the place is beautiful as well.

Rebecca C.

Yelp
If I could leave 10 stars I would. I just moved to the neighborhood and I found this place on yelp. The ambiance is very classy and regal. The prices and portion sizes are very generous. I sat at the bar and I was greeted by a beautiful, bubbly, bartender named Lo. She recommended the calamari and the sliders. Both were amazing! She was so friendly and welcoming. I am getting married in the summer and she is helping me to plan my wedding reception. My guests are going to be blown away! I will be back very soon. The staff is going to know me by name.

Marisa F.

Yelp
Wonderful service Katrina and Mirna were amazing! 10/10 good yum service even better!

Paul T.

Yelp
The food and atmosphere were great. We will definitely be going back. I was not sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. Our waiter did a great job, and the service was very good. I only expect this place to get better, and I wish them the best of luck.

Michael K.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful, authentic and delicious! The service was timely and knowledgeable and the pasta dishes, especially shined. I had a seafood stew with mussels, clams, shrimp, and fish, and it was delightful. The dining room was comfortable and tables are spread out. I look forward to my return.

Paula T.

Yelp
We attended a 70th Birthday party this weekend at Antica Nova. What a wonderful experience. Everything was perfect! The food, venue, and service was outstanding. We are already planning to go back to Antica Nova for our next dinner out.
