Google
I am happy that they had one Keto option. The ice cream was creamy and delicious. We were there during the Fourth of July weekend. It was a long line but a fun experience to stroll around and hang out at the ice cream shop.

Google
Great place for a scoop or 2. Check their hours before you go. Try the bourbon breakfast it's delicious. Buy a pint or 2(of ice cream. They also sell drinks

Google
I LOVE the ice cream at Treats! It’s fresh and light and they have interesting flavors. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly. I tried the Saffron Rose Pistachio and it was amazing. Hub had Cookies & Cream and Bing Cherry and loved them both. Don’t miss this sweet (pun intended) spot in Nevada City!

Google
This place is amazing. My husband has gluten allergy and the owner came out giving advice and what they can do. The ice cream is fantastic. They are very responsible and knowledgeable about allergies. If you are celiac, you are safe here and they protect your safety.

Google
Best Icecream I ever had in USA, period! Bing Cherry and Saffron Rose Pistachio are especially exquisite. Will be back soon..

Google
Treats is hands down the best ice cream around. About half the flavors are made in house and the rest are brought in; all are equally delicious. Some of my faves are the housemade mint chip, with such a strong real mint taste, it's divine, light, and SO refreshing on a hot day; butter brickle is so creamy and buttery delicious; coffee tastes like legit coffee and also makes an amazing milkshake 😋; peanut butter cup is rich chocolate ice cream with swirls of peanut butter - one of my very favorite flavor combos. Oh, I could go on, it's all SO good. Bonus, the waffle cones are made fresh in house, are always crispy fresh and so good, and it makes the shop smell divine when you walk in. Staff are all super friendly, no matter how busy it is. Sprinkles are free, a favorite of my 6 year old daughter, who has been loving coming here since she was old enough to eat ice cream. Our family favorite!

Google
I brought my Great Grands and Great Nieces for some devine hot chocolate. It is, without a doubt the best hot chocolate any of us have ever had. It is not super sweet, but nice and rich. Almost like a dark chocolate (not sure it is though). Nicely decorated and a nice bathroom for customer usage.

Google
Treats was such a great find! The shop is adorable and the staff were friendly. There was a wide selection of unique flavors. My friend and I got the Saffron and Pistachio and it was AMAZING. Just the perfect hint of saffron. Ingredients were super fresh.

Yelp
Cute ice cream shop and many different flavors to choose from. It give me a smaller version of Gunther's vibe but I still prefer my fav place Gunther's. It's a small shop so not lots of spots to sit but if you get a spot it's a nice cozy place to eat your treats.

Yelp
Wow what a cool city that's only a stones throw from us in Reno. We were headed to Sacramento and wanted to make a detour to check out Nevada City. I told the kiddos "we will find an ice cream shop when we get there" and boy did we. This great place is nestled in this cozy town as part of the historic area. We loved this shop as it was cozy, clean and welcoming. I got a homemade mint chip ice cream which was made with spearmint and very refreshing. My wife got the coffee flavored ice cream and thoroughly enjoyed it. The kids got their chocolate ice cream and wore half of it before we left. It's definitely worth the cost and visit. Will definitely return.

Yelp
Kind of an obligatory stop if walking around Nevada city. Line can be brutal during special event days, so prepare yourself. That being said, it is legit quality ice cream, always yummy and creamy....plus standard rainbow sherbet for the kids. I got the key lime gelato which was milky, not to too tart, and a nice refresher. Added plus, especially relative to most of the downtown shops, it's spacious inside.

Yelp
Excellent idea to stop and get a handmade waffle cone here. The ice cream is really special, and step above most places. I decided to try the mint chip and it is made with fresh mint, so refreshing! I got a small scoop of it with the double chocolate. My hubby ate his Mocha Almond Fudge so fast, I didn't get a bite! We choose this treat instead of lunch.

Yelp
This sweets & treats shop is located in a charming historic building in Nevada City (but of course!). I'm always fascinated by the crafting of the ceiling tiles in these spaces. There's always so much to absorb about the architectural details while enjoying their delicious ice cream dishes. The walls are painted in light colors, highlighted with some simple items to highlight the historical character of the interior. Since I've had to go to a non-dairy diet, I appreciate so much that an ice cream shop offers sorbets or ices made without milk/cream. Their website lists their vegan flavors, which all sound so tempting, which enticed us to try Treats. Our niece also has to avoid dairy, so she was all in for stopping by. They do rotate those flavors, so the one I wanted to try the most wasn't available that day, but I was able to enjoy a tart citrusy lemonade sorbet which hit the spot on a warm afternoon. They were short on staff for part of our visit, but the young man working diligently was joined by a co-worker who had been taking care of something in the back. They were friendly and handled the guests as quickly as possible.

Yelp
Treats in Nevada City is a must-stop for dessert lovers. Their handmade ice cream is incredible, especially the unique mint chip, which is fresh and unlike any other, and the super Oreo, loaded with rich, chocolatey goodness. Every scoop tastes special, and the service is kind and they help you make the right decisions. A unique and cute shop with Victorian feels!

Yelp
as cheesy as it is, treats is SUCH a treat. we did have to wait in line, but don't let that deter you -- i promise, it's SO worth the wait. when you first walk in, they have old ice cream scoops hanging i'm the doorway (such cool decor)! the menu options are endless, with tons of flavors for all ages and dietary needs (vegan, gluten free, etc.) the staff were all extremely friendly while accommodating our party of 12! Olive, Jaden, Taran, and Rhett were so helpful and patient with us, and made it such a seamless process for us to order and taste some samples! the flavors taste exactly how they should with no artificial tasting flavors. the mint chip threw us for an unexpected surprise with spearmint instead of peppermint. it was fabulous! parking is limited to street parking -- which there are so many fun shops to check out nearby, even if you have to walk a ways. no outside seating, but sitting on a curb never hurt nobody! our visit to treats was the perfect way to beat the heat. drooling over the raspberry chip ice cream reliving how fantastic it was! can't wait to be back :)

Yelp
Always the best ice cream! Homemade ice cream with every flavor so delicious. The service is always wonderful with the friendliest people. It is lovely inside with little tables available for sitting down to enjoy your ice cream and a festive happy environment. I highly recommend Treats!

Yelp
Was up here in December for Victorian Christmas, and stopped in for ice cream the day before. Lots of unique flavors and creations, looks like hand-created. Staff knows their stuff, was able to comment intelligently on every flavor we asked about, as well as the short history of the town and the insider "scoop" (sorry, couldn't resist) on the best hangs in town. Ice cream was really good - we had various selections of ice cream, gelato and sorbet. Next time we're up, definitely strolling over for more!

Yelp
Delicious flavors. Friendly and helpful staff. Fair prices. Indoor and outdoor seating. Options for non dairy/vegan.
google avatar

Chris T.

Yelp
The best ice cream... made in house with a variety of flavors, many unique along with the classics. Friendly staff. Can get very busy and street parking is limited. Prices are on the higher side but it's so good and it's nice to support local businesses.
google avatar

Allie L.

Yelp
The service was great, I love that you can taste the flavors before getting them. It allowed me to make sure I got a flavor that I would enjoy. The space is nice and clean with great lighting. I got the bittersweet chocolate and rhubarb swirl, they were both delicious. Definently come here to satisfy a sweet tooth!

Michelle L.

Yelp
The art was interesting. The seating was classic olde style table and chairs. Our family had a pumpkin, coffee, rainbow sherbet/lemon custard, and cookie dough/monster cookie dough. All excellent. Service was quick and polite. We stopped by on a Thursday evening and it was plenty busy.

Rick S.

Yelp
Bro.. no words can describe how disappointing it is to receive a fkn paper straw.. you're not saving anything and it makes the experience shit. Please get plastic straws back
google avatar

Imelda R.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the chocolate brownie gelato- rich, smooth and tasted the brownie bits. I ordered peanut butter ice cream for my dog and pint of strawberry for my family which they enjoyed very much. The farm-style decor welcomes coziness and service was friendly-courteous.

Yelp
I love a good scoop of creamy, delicious ice cream, even more than the average person does. While the ice cream was good, I wasn't impressed. I prefer Jeni's or Salt & Straw, just so you know on which side of the spectrum my ice cream preferences lie. This ice cream was less creamy and rich, and the portion sizes were on the smaller side. My friends, however, said it was some of the best ice cream they'd ever had. This place holds the small town charm of a little ice cream shop, from the cute seating to the wooden floors. It's located in an adorable, quaint downtown. They have several flavors to choose from, but they only give you a certain amount of samples (it was either 3 or 5). I was searching for the exact flavor I wanted and was genuinely interested in their unique offerings, yet when I asked for another sample, the employee said that was my last one. I was a little taken aback, because she said it very abruptly. Was it a joke? Was she serious? Well, she didn't indicate otherwise, so I settled for Oreo Cookie, but the service left a bad taste in my mouth. I appreciate that they offer vegan choices. They also put rainbow or chocolate sprinkles on kids scoops, which was a huge hit for my kids. I would've appreciated more kind customer service and clear signage about the amount of samples offered.

Yelp
The staff is so nice! The ice cream is delicious they have tons of flavors. I would eat there even during winter.

Yelp
What a cute surprise, beautiful building well preserved with absolutely delicious ice cream. I tried the Lemon Custard but ended up with the coffee flavor since coffee flavor is my go to! I couldn't pass it up, also it smells amazing as soon as you walk in. The best treat to get when passing through town

Yelp
I went to a Treats ice cream shop in Nevada City with a family member on Memorial Day. I had a vanilla milkshake. It was so good, that I had a second one. These were two of the best milkshakes I have ever had. The staff offered superior customer service, and the patrons were very friendly. The atmosphere that permeated through this shop was incredible.

Yelp
Best ice cream ever!! It was a chilly fall day in Nevada City but my stance is that it's never too cold for ice cream. And from the steady stream of patrons, I'm not alone in that. Located in an historic building, they made the space cozy and inviting-even including a fireplace to warm up by. Their flavors run from basic (chocolate chip) to innovative (rose, lavender and vegan brown sugar to name a few.) I got the Vegan pumpkin and it was wonderful. Not too sweet and full of true pumpkin flavor! It wasn't too heavy and a had light texture without being too icy. It was the perfect treat after a day of walking and exploring town. Great locally owned homemade ice cream. A must try.

Yelp
We didn't have any ice cream but were definitely hoping for more from the chocolate chip cookies and apple pie.

M P.

Yelp
Place is good, but wish they had more consistent vegan options like vanilla and chocolate flavors.
google avatar

Yelp
Went to eat some ice cream 4 minutes into opening and there was already a line! The line was going by quickly and the inside was adorable. The staff was great and let us try some flavors! I went with the Saffron Rose Pistachio and my fiancé got the cookies and cream. Both were super delicious! Highly recommend coming here if you are in Nevada City!

Yelp
- Locale Destination - It's on coyote st and main st in Nevada city. Ambiance: cozy, roomy, cute. Lots of inside seating. Lots of outside seating nearby. Hours: weekdays - 1pm-9pm. Weekends - I hope they open more (I don't remember). Many places in this town are closed on Mondays. Menu: drinks, ice cream - scoops to sundae. Service: friendly Parking: street meter parking *** Ice cream *** Flavor quality: surprisingly high. Not as good as Bi-Rite in SF, but really high standards. 1/2 of the ice creams aren't theirs - I've only tried their own ice creams. Pretty high standards! It could be a touch bolder, but good. Flavor choices: from standards to adventurous ones you would find in SF - saffron, blueberry matcha etc. Right up my alley. Not too big (which is good), but good ones. Perfect. Some vegans. Consistency: hard, which I love. Sweetness: not too sweet, perfect. Price: $4.5 for tiny kid's scoop, $5 for 1 scoop, which is bigger than ones in SF. $7 for 2 flavors. Their own ice cream is more expensive than others (she didn't reveal the sources). Portion: 2 flavors get you 2 big scoops for $7. I prefer smaller portions for 3 flavors. Overall quality: this is surprisingly a top high-end SF level ice cream! Bi-rite is #1, and here's #2 - I've tried dozens of ice creams in SF. Pretty good! - Gluttony Expedition - Saffron, rosé & pistachios: each ingredient was not too overwhelming, nicely done. Violet: very subtle but I love those delicate flower flavors. Good. Hibiscus lemon sorbet: it was more like lemon than hibiscus. Light, not too sweet, more like lemon. Not bad. - Conqueror's Deduction - As a super finicky ice cream connoisseur, I'm truly surprised at the quality. Their own ice cream is unique and more adventurous flavors. Not-their-owns are more standard /safer American flavors. I do like it!

Yelp
Great variety of locally made ice-cream flavors. Its a cute little shop with quick service.

Yelp
They had a house-made basil flavor of ice cream! Ok maybe I am getting ahead of myself. This place is great, and open late! After dinner when I am on vacation, I will look up some ice cream places and enjoy a cone while walking around. I was happy to see around 9 pm that Treats was open. We waited in a moderately short line and saw that there were a lot of very unique flavors on this menu. They had a house-made basil flavor! I decided to go with a safe mint chip house-made flavor. It was so good! They also had non-dairy flavors. My fiancé enjoyed the coconut flavor. The ambiance is great in this place. They have pictures of cows, plenty of seating, and really friendly servers. I saw one of them putting M&Ms on a cone with tweezers! I appreciated him not using his hands. They have a really nice patio and are across the street from a bar where they have live music, so we really enjoyed the atmosphere. I recommend this place and cannot wait to come back to patronize them again.

Yelp
Before there was Salt and Straw, there was this place: A very cute ice cream shop with rare, thoughtful flavors, often housemade. Exactly the kind of small business you want to support.
google avatar

Anya T.

Yelp
I am not a chocolate person but I love their bittersweet chocolate ice cream. Just a small cup of it nips my sweet tooth away. I'm sure their other flavors are good but I always get the chocolate

Yelp
Was so delighted to find vegan ice cream here! All the vegan flavors are made in house; there are 1-4 flavors available on any given day and are always changing, with some regular staples (all made with a coconut base). Their vegan ice cream is hands down the BEST I've ever had, in my 10 years living a vegan lifestyle! All the flavors I've had have been delicious, super flavorful, and refreshing, with just the right level of sweetness. I prefer only a bit of sweetness and find almost all ice creams to be sickeningly sweet. So far, my favorites are matcha, lavender, coconut, peanut butter, and grape. My suggestions: allow people to bring their own clean, reusable container to cut down on waste, and use more sustainable options for disposables and takeaway containers. Thank you for having cruelty-free, vegan options that don't require enslaving, exploiting, and abusing cows for their bodily secretions.

James R.

Yelp
How this place has a 5 star rating is beyond me. Some rude woman behind the counter snapped at me telling me I couldn't even order an ice cream TO GO because I had my dog with me. Bear in mind this was a 7 pound Yorkie I was CARRYING, and we had no intention of dining in the establishment. Now I have no intention of ever coming back, and I'll be certain to tell everyone how terrible their customer service is. Fire your workers, or at least the tool policing people who just want to get an ice cream to go. In fact, go to The Chocolate Shoppe a block over. Their workers are friendly and don't snap at customers for carrying a dog in to order. By the way, be warned. They are 100% reporting bad reviews and attempting to have them removed.
google avatar

Elisa R.

Yelp
The long line is worth it for the best ice cream place in town! Featuring a unique selection of flavors, many made in-house, this place has been a favorite ever since it first opened. I recommend the mint ice cream--made with real mint--and the saffron rose pistachio. You can't go wrong ordering here, they have drinks, ice cream, and desserts for all seasons! As a bonus, it's in a great location downtown and has a cozy yet spacious, vintage-inspired interior. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Austyn L.

Yelp
Best ice cream I've had. The flavors stand out. The freshness lures you back in. The staff is always friendly and quick. As for the interior...love the old charm. Ties everything together
google avatar

Charles B.

Yelp
We have been a few times. Top notch ice cream in a great quaint downtown setting. This is fairly expensive, but typical of other high quality ice cream places.
google avatar

Rumeet R.

Yelp
This is one of the cutest ice cream shops I've been to. I love the cookies and cream ice cream and whenever I'm in Grass Valley, I have to drive over to Nevada city to have some ice cream from here. In the summertime, the line stretch out the door and wrap around the porch. If you're in the local area, I would definitely recommend to stop by to get a quick ice cream. They have some quirkier flavors but they will definitely give you a sample if you're willing to try something. I have some ice cream here. I enjoy walking around the downtown Nevada city. It's pretty lively especially during the summertime. There's often festivals or celebrations that occur in the downtown area.
google avatar

Lindsey J.

Yelp
This place is amazing! I have been there several times and tried pretty much all the flavors. The flavors are wide in variety from a typical vanilla and peanut butter chocolate to a unique saffron rose and lavender. During the covid pandemic, I was relieved to see the shop was providing masks and hand sanitizer to the customers at the front door. And I noticed that they were not doing sample spoons for flavors due to the covid-19 changes. I elected to get my favorite Mocha Almond Fudge & was not disappointed!! Always my go to!! I like to get one scoop in a bowl but with a homemade waffle cone piece.
google avatar

Liz C.

Yelp
Really great quality ice cream. My absolute favorite is their Butter Brickle. They have delicious fresh waffle cones too.
google avatar

Shelly A.

Yelp
Excellent quality ingredients!!! Best ice cream you can get. No corn syrup!!! Friendly staff.

Yelp
I have never had something quite like this. The raspberry flavor was so unique and special I just can't get over it. Honestly a delight if your near by I would recommend you stop by for a sweet cold treat!

Jeff F.

Yelp
Great life-changing ice cream! Can be VERY busy so expect to set aside some time to get your scoop. Be early. Small hometown business.

Diana F.

Yelp
Super tasty ice cream with some unique flavors and friendly atmosphere! I had the mint chip made with fresh spearmint- yum!

Yelp
Excellent ice cream! A solid 5-Stars from 149 reviews... yes! people love you on Yelp! Here's another 5-stars to add to the love. One of our favorite things to do in towns is to look for a local ice cream shop. We happened to see the store sign (and the huge ice creams adorned on the store front) after visiting the Chamber of Commerce, we stopped by for cones and we enjoyed our choices of flavors.. it was the perfect dessert after lunch. They have a wonderful menu of unique flavors. I ordered a double scoop on a cone. I was happy that they had my favorite, Mocha Almond Fudge. The other scoop was Oreo Cookie. The ice cream was fresh and delicious, very natural flavors! Rich and creamy and homemade... obviously made with love. Hubby liked his mint chip, they use real mint leaves?? They also have gelatos, sorbets and other snacks like baked goods. Good news for vegans, they offer vegan options. The interior has plenty of table seating and this shoppe that's located on Main Street is easy to get to. It is just across the Chamber of Commerce. Don't miss this local gem when you are in Nevada City! Review #1176

Swanny T.

Yelp
Better diagnosis and communication! Charged for unnecessary services and took advantage of a pet owner and pet!
google avatar

Dawn P.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting Nevada City and I am so glad I stopped here! The staff were so friendly and the place is super cute! The waffle cone was so crispy and fresh I could have eaten it plain! The girl recommended the bittersweet chocolate ice cream and I regretted getting the smaller scoop! It was amazing! I can't wait to go back! Everyone should stop at this cute business!
google avatar

Satnam B.

Yelp
Quaint ice cream store with both indoor and outdoor seating. Service is friendly, you can try free samples before you buy ice cream in a cup or cone or as a milkshake. Just over priced ice cream, nothing too special that a Baskin Robbins does not have other than an old time charm to the place. Be ready for a long line if your passing through Nevada city.
google avatar

Linda H.

Yelp
Omg soooo good! The cutest ice cream store I've been to in a long time. The decor was just perfect! I love ice cream shops that really get creative with the flavors and this place did just that. Tried the saffron rose and pistachio , rhubarb sorbet and bourbon breakfast. The last two were phenomenal. Hands down get those again. I also appreciated the tip to get the bourbon breakfast in a waffle cone, it really did go well together. The saffron pistachio was subtle in flavor which i guess is a good thing so it's not too overwhelming. Would def come back hands down. Would tell everyone I know to come here as well. It won't disappoint.
google avatar

Lindy S.

Yelp
Best ice cream in town! And the added bonus of being a stop on the Fezziwig trail! Try all the flavors....
google avatar

Lynn D.

Yelp
Darling ice cream shop with some very interesting flavors! I had the lemon custard and will be ordering that when I return (maybe next weekend!) because it was delicious-very creamy and full of lemon goodness! We purchased the chocolate peanut butter cookie and pecan pie bar to take home and were so glad we did because they were both delicious!

Woffie Girl O.

Yelp
Old Fashion Ice Cream Shop in Downtown Nevada City!!! Very cute interior decor that will take back in time!!! Good variety of ice flavors. Old time favorites & interesting fusion ice creams!! I had the Safron Rose Pastaccio! It was delicate flavor of Safron infuse with a hint of rose & Pastaccio!! HEAVENLY!!!! If you come to Nevada City, this is a MUST!!!!

Yelp
The ice cream was fine, but the single scoop cup was rather pricey for the amount given. Otherwise, the server was pleasant and efficient.
