Chicago restaurant and bar closures for 2021 - Eater Chicago

"Bucktown: Windy Kitty Cat Cafe and Lounge has closed its North Avenue location after four years with plans to relocate elsewhere in the city, ownership writes in a Facebook post. Owner Jennifer Tiner hasn’t yet settled on a new site but writes in the comments that she’s interested in Pilsen and South Loop. Tiner also promises a “proper cafe’ish” when the new space opens." - Naomi Waxman

We visited on a Saturday and had such a lovely experience. At the time, there was only one cat, SuperCali, but she was very sweet and friendly. She spent most of her time sunbathing on her cat post, but she let us feed her treats and play with her, which was a cute highlight. The cafe had a nice selection of options, and the reservation includes a complimentary drink or food item. I had the matcha latte, and it was really good. The staff was kind and knowledgeable, especially about the adoption process. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely return!

I had a wonderful experience at the cat café! Big Bear, the resident cat, is an absolute sweetheart—affectionate and adorable. He loves being petted and enjoys weaving through your legs. Also he played with us while in his bed, as you can see in the video. The hot chocolate and tea we ordered were perfect, making our visit even more enjoyable. The Tree House Humane Society’s facilities are well-organized, and it’s clear they genuinely care about the well-being of their cats. We had such a great time and would definitely visit again!

We booked a cat cafe visit for the first. The employees were well educated and happy to answer our questions about the organization and the cats. They do incredible work to help FeLV positive cats find good homes. We had an excellent visit in the cafe and the cold brew and London fog were phenomenally good.

Had a lovely visit with the one cat in the cafe (the rest were adopted! 😻) and got to chill, read, and color while sipping on the included coffee. $10 entry for a good cause!

Best cat cafe for anyone looking for one near. The staff were very kind and directed us to the room with the cats. Sadly, there were only two cats, but that wasn’t bad! They were both very adorable and affectionate. I’m looking forward to coming back again and see more cats! :)

Overall, I really respect the work they do and the care for the cats, so five stars for that! The cats seem very well taken care of. The only thing that threw me off a bit was when a staff member peeked and dashed from the window a few times and with a toddler in tow I get it that they’re protective for their cats. Maybe next time a quick wave or chat about the cats would make things feel more casual!

Easy to make an appointment for the cafe. $10 entrance fee with one drink included. Cute hand written menu with a nice woman running it. She was polite and answered all my questions. Was a little late with my group and she was very nice about it. The cats were all friendly and loved to be petted. Think they switch up the cats every now and then. Place was kept very clean and they had pillows and chairs to sit and toys to play with the babies. My allergies said no but my heart said yes. Absolutely recommend to anyone that loves cats

went with 2 friends from high school // the selection of drinks at their cafe is pretty decent // paid $10 to hang out with the cats for 30 mins + any complementary drink from their cafe // place was very clean and professional, surprisingly their cafe is really small and there were only 4 cats there (2 of them had to stay in their cage bc they were being acclimated) // they have a super cute area with cat goodies you can buy too // overall had a really pleasant experience + remember to book ahead!!
