Yelp
I've been visiting a lot of boutiques and gift shops on the Eastside and I've started to get a bit bored. Simply put, I keep finding the same merchandise over and over again.
Treehaus, on the other hand, had a ton of pieces that I've never seen before, either in Los Angeles or elsewhere.
This shop carries a couple lines of interesting jewelry collections (I particularly liked the more industrial/brutalist of them), a range of adult and baby clothes and an interesting and eclectic line of eye wear. While the adult clothing skews toward femme, I would describe many of them as unisex, which fits the cool queer/feminist vibe of the shop.
There were a lot of cool housewares that, again, I've never seen before. These range from the practical (metal soap dishes) to the purely aesthetic (fun art prints of famous spots in LA.) Lots of retro designs can be found to decorate your living space.
Other things I really enjoyed: a human bone and organ ink stamp collection, fun notebooks and adorable stuffed animals. And of course, they had a great collection of books and cards.
Prices were on par for quality. It's very middle of the road for a gift shop or boutique.
The clerks on duty were friendly and personable. I would definitely have felt comfortable going to them with questions.
I will definitely return the next time I'm shopping for a friend.
