The 16 Best Restaurants to Visit on a Colorado Mountain Road Trip - Eater Denver

"On down to Leadville, Treeline is a newer addition to the country’s highest elevation food scene. It opens daily for happy hour and dinner and serves a comforting new American food menu alongside an extensive wine list and winter cocktails. Come warmer weather, the rooftop patio is a nice perch overlooking this historic city." - Josie Sexton, Eater Staff

Google
This was such a great stop on our way to Aspen. We were looking for something quick, and a food truck was closed. The service was very quick even though the fried chicken was obviously homemade. And there were some fun looking cocktails as well. The homemade fries, AKA potatoes, were also delicious. The atmosphere is really cool, with an original brick wall and vaulted wood ceilings. The light fixtures were neat and the bar was cool.

Google
The ability to cook meat is questionable but they're vegetables and drinks are delicious. The lamp pasta that they were raving about was overcooked and straight up disappointing. And the garlic cheesy bread although it was delicious tasted like Rosemary cheesy bread and not garlic cheesy bread but it was still delicious so I'll give points to that. And our service even though we had two waiters was flat out disappointing the only time we saw them what is when they took us our food and drinks and three times when we tried waving them down to express our concerns on the food they ignored us.

Came in at 3:30 on the dot during the skijorring competition. We were able to get a seat at the bar. Service was fast and friendly. Food was great. The curry had some odd sides that were weird together but individually they were excellent. Everyone in my party loved their meals and cornbread was a great app to share.

Google
My friends and I had an excellent meal here after skiing at Copper Mountain. The service was fantastic and our server had alot of great recommendations. The price was fair and the food was very good overall. We will certainly be coming back next time we are in the area, and would highly recommend stopping in.

My dinner guests and I went to Treeline for dinner today. The drinks were great. The vegetables were great. The asparagus, the mushrooms, and the cream spinach were delicious. But every dish with meat is subpar. My steak was NOT medium rare it was medium well done. My dinner guests' lamb pasta was overcooked pasta with unseasoned lamb. The herb chicken was unseasoned and disappointing. They had water on our table that had just been sitting there for who knows how long. I poured water into my glass and found a bug in it. One of my dinner guests had to give the lamb pasta back to the kitchen and asked for a strawberry salad instead. But I had to call for my server multiple times. They saw me and only turned away instead of approaching me. We had to ask another waiter to find our servers so we could get a different item from the pasta for her. The strawberry salad had either completely burnt bacon pieces or almost raw bacon. When we spoke to the server about the bacon, she responded "some chewy, some crunchy for you!" Note: the salts and sugars at the bar were uncovered and sitting there. Unsafe, unsanitary, and made the salt/sugar less flavorful.

Rooftop was bomb! Food left a little to be desired. Wontons were not filled very much and cheesecake flavor just didn’t work. Overall good atmosphere

Google
The restaurant offers a simple, modern, and exceptionally clean atmosphere. The food is of excellent quality, and the staff provides very friendly service.

Google
What a bad experience. TLDR: food is good; service is not good; place wants to be fancy, but isn’t. Getting sat was just weird. My wife and I walked in and there were about 7 employees just standing at the bar. Finally after a minute of awkwardness, one approached from the back to say that the “host would be right with us”. When we were finally greeted and asked if we had a reservation, I said no. She said something to the effect of, “we can make that work, but we’ll need the table for a reservation at 7”. Cool, I don’t care. I don’t need to know your reservation details. But let’s be honest, the place was half empty and when we left at 10 minutes to 7PM, it was still half empty. And you clearly had plenty of staff… Next, Alberto. Which I only know was his name because it was on the receipt. He barely said anything and stopped by the table as infrequently as he could get away with. We ordered an appetizer and when we finished, he mumbled something about keeping our silverware. Now this place is trying to be fancy, and replacing the silverware after an appetizer is something any decent restaurant would do. Is it a big deal to keep your silverware, no, but when you’re trying to be fancy enough to serve some courses “ala carte”, it just doesn’t fit the vibe. Also, after we finished eating, we weren’t even asked if we wanted another drink or desert. Fine with me, I guess you don’t want more of my money. The food was good. Was it better than dingy place on the other side of town that knows exactly what they’re serving and where. No. The bruschetta was good, but it was literally one piece of bread with a giant dollop of ricotta on it. The dish also felt incoherent, peppers and pine nuts were out of place, but I think the peach, balsamic and ricotta did well together. The fried chicken sandwich was good. The chicken breast was cooked perfectly. Moist and tender. The potatoes apres ski was just ok, the bacon was kind of piled at the bottom and the cheese half melted. I would not recommend this place to those visiting Leadville

Yelp
This restaurant is a great place to eat at. It had great music, the food is delicious! I love the vibe and atmosphere of this place. We had the sweetest waitress named Amanda. She was one of the best waitresses I've met and would love for people to experience her Joy that she brings. Now the food. The photos are of my meal. They have appetisers and salads, soups, sandwiches, deserts, and entres. I just wanted a little bit of everything. I definitely would love to go back again and try it again.

Yelp
Treelike Kitchen was a wonderful stop for dinner on our weekend to Leadville! Our friends we dined with had been there before and highly recommended Treeline and I can definitely see why with their unique offerings, friendly staff, and fun (family friendly) atmosphere. They were even able to accommodate 4 adults, a baby, and a kiddo on short notice with making a reservation a few hours before when resy said they were all booked. I tried their soup special while my husband ordered the Crispy Chicken Sandwich. We also shared some Crab Wontons. Our friends so kindly shared their Colorado cornbread which for sure was the star of the show! If we're in the area again I would definitely come back for the great service and atmosphere!

Yelp
We were here for my friends wedding reception! The vibe on the inside is very cozy and the room that was rented felt like a warm mountain lodge. The servers were fast and efficient and able to adapt to different diet restrictions of the people there which I greatly appreciate. As a vegan it was very nice that the menu was labeled so I knew what was safe to eat. I will say I wish there was more than curry as an entree that's vegan. The main vegan things are side dishes. As far as the side dishes I got I will say I am very pleased. I thought the sides would be small in size but they were great serving sizes and I really only needed one side. I loves the squash it was rich and filling without being heavy and the pumpkin seeds added a nice crunch. The potato's were FABULOUS there were garlic cloves in the potato's and they were so tasty. The potato's were seasoned so well and so filling. Overall very satisfied with the sides I got I just wish as far as entrees went that there was maybe another option other than curry.

Yelp
Treeline has me committed to coming back to Leadville asap! Everyone who works here is extremely friendly and kind, the food and drinks are delicious and the location is one of the best in town. We stopped here to try and grab a reservation on a busy weekend night and the team did what the could to squeeze us in later in the evening (we got there at opening). While we were there we grabbed bar seats and enjoyed drinks and the cornbread which was fantastically delicious. Everyone was kind enough to allow us to bring drinks outside to enjoy the Pride parade too! When we came back later that evening for dinner, it was so hard to choose what to try with so many great sounding options on the menu. I ended up with the crab wontons and blackened cod. I really enjoyed the crab wontons, the sauce was different than what you may normally have with wontons but really nice. The blackened cod is an absolute star. The seasoning was great, fish cooked perfectly, and a really good size portion. Don't believe that you won't get good fish just because you're in a landlocked state and up at 11,000ft! Thank you to the team at Treeline, you're all fantastic!

Yelp
I've had good food here but tonights special, the pork, was so soupy and mushy. The rice and fava beans are alright, but they didnt save the dish. On the plus side, I really enjoyed my cocktail (the moscow mule a get a bottle to share among your party.). Our waitress was also super nice; my parents were handing out googly eyes among our group because they had just seen everything everywhere all at once and our waitress humored them by putting it on her shirt. She also patiently explained the menu to both sides of our table so that all of us could hear everything. I've never been seated outside here but I'd like to come back and sit around the fire with the provided blankets. Super cute! I would just order a more tried-and-true entree.

Yelp
Got takeout from Treeline and it was great. Those potatoes are so good. Great salad and meatballs too. I usually don't have high expectations for a mountain town restaurant with high yelp ratings, but treeline is as good as the reviews say!

Mary Beth K.

Yelp
Had a great dinner. Had to wait as we didn't make reservations. They had a Great fireplace to keep warm.

Yelp
I don't like slaw and I feasted like the slaw king. Had amazing asparagus, smashed potatoes and vegetable curry dish. Leadville's best! We have reservations two nights in a row. Pro tip: get a drink and go up to the rooftop

Yelp
The service was good waitress checked in multiple times. The French onion soup was good, the croutons and cheese made for a good mix. The atmosphere and ambience was very nice and a good vibe for my anniversary dinner. The lavender drink was very fresh and tasty. However the 19oz steak special was terrible. It came with mashed potatoes that were just absolutely swimming in oil. There was zero flavor. My plate was so covered in oil I felt like I was in a kitchen nightmares episode. I do not think this meal was worth near the price I paid.

Yelp
Decent dinner spot for a variety of American foods in Leadville. I ordered the Leadville Lamb Pasta ($22) - the pasta was pretty good, but there was not too much lamb and just a lot of tomatoes. It was also a bit watery and could use some more flavor. The goat cheese on there was pretty good though. I also got the Creamed Spinach Greens ($6), which were pretty tasty. For dessert, I tried the Chocolate Mousse ($7), which was definitely the best part of the meal. The mousse was really light and fluffy with a delicious cocoa flavor and was not overly sweet. The prices were generally quite reasonable. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The service speed was rather quick. There is a nice indoor seating area with lots of seating along with a nice outdoor seating out front with a fire pit. We had to wait for 15 min to be seated on a Thursday night. I would give Treeline Kitchen 3.5 stars if I could, but will bump it up to 4 stars because of the nice environment and bonus points for the fire pit outside the entrance.

Yelp
The chicken sandwich is lip smacking good! My hubby and I tried the pomegranate lavender virgin margarita and the grapefruit virgin margarita, both were delicious but we wish to have received more for the price. Refreshing. The Mac and cheese was ok. The carrot cake was well made, I appreciate the variety of ingredients- pecans, raisins and lots of carrot. Frosting was balanced too. Kids chicken tenders (2 tenders)- were well seasoned and cooked well too. The 5 stars go to that chicken sandwich. Winner.

Yelp
Unfortunately every time we've tried- it's closed. Even Fourth of July! We went by on Sunday and someone said they were turned away "we have enough customers."

Yelp
WORKSPACE REVIEW: Not only does the Treeline seem like a great dinner spot but it also functions as a co-working space during the business day! It opens at 8:30 and only costs $12 a person for a day pass. Our experience was great here. There is tons of space, not to mention a secret upstairs area that is so quiet and relaxing (with a nice comfy couch!) Upstairs was a bit chilly in the morning but it quickly warmed up. Margaret was super nice and showed us around when we got there. She also brought fresh coffee upstairs along with bottles of water if anyone wanted any. Definitely recommend stopping here if you work remotely and are headed through Leadville. Very convenient lunch spots around too! Pro tip: if you work here long enough happy hour starts at 3:30 (:

Yelp
This place has to hands down be one of the best restaurants I have been to in general and I have been to a lot of restaurants in my time as a Yelper! The atmosphere, the servers, as well as the food is all top quality and is sourced from local sources. The drinks are very unique and they all give it just enough of that good alcohol flavor to make you feel refreshed, yet have a good buzz after. Not only that, the location has to hands down be one of the most beautiful places I have been to. Just one step outsides and you are surrounded by beautiful mountains and amazing scenery. If you are ever traveling to Colorado and are looking for places to visit. Leadville, Colorado's Treeline Kitchen has to be one of those places! Will be coming back here for a years to come!

Jacob O.

Yelp
Good service, better food.. Just order the BBQ pork and beans with the cornbread and thank me later. One of the best meals i have had in a while. Prices not crazy either compared to some other mountain cities. Nice Christmas decor also.

Yelp
Great spot in downtown Leadville. Wide variety of dishes to please all palates. Server was knowledgeable, checked in regularly and very friendly.

Max C.

Yelp
This is what a dining experience should be like. A fresh take on cod (how they get it so fresh in a land locked state is beyond me) and potatoes, creamed spinach that puts Horn & Hardart to shame. Brisket pasta that has more brisket than a restaurant accountant would allow. Food is seasoned well but not to hide the innate flavors. Service was expeditious but unobtrusive and upselling was kept to a minimum. The only caveat was the decibel level coming from the sound system. As much as I enjoy Sirius/XM's 90's rock station I like to engage in conversation I can hear while dining out. But otherwise a perfect dining experience.

Yelp
We had an AWESOME dinner! Service was incredible. We had a 6:30 reservation and we're ready early so I called and they said they had a table ready at 5:15. When we walked in they pointed us to our table already set for 3 with waters set and waiting. Literally EVERY item we tried was delicious!!! To start we had the tuna tartare, beets and mushroom burrata. Mains were Bistro Steak, Beef Brisket Pasta and a Pork Chop special with heirloom tomatoes. Each was full of flavor and delicious! Can't say enough good things about the service and the incredible food.

Yelp
Great experience at Treeline last night. Had a reservation for 7:30 and we were seated right away. Great drinks, incredible food. The service was also good. Will be coming back.

Shannon K.

Yelp
Fabulous dinner with delicious drinks and small plates. Started with a round of cocktails and salads. Shared frito misto, chicken, butternut squash, creamed spinach greens and fried wings. So good!

Derek R.

Yelp
Great ambiance. Great service. Fair prices. The food, however, is center stage at Treeline. The Pot Roast, Vegetable Curry, Colorado corn bread, and roasted chicken were all delicious. Save room for desert as well... the blueberry peach cobbler was the honestly the best cobbler I've ever had.
google avatar

Yelp
Didn't even take a pic of the food. It was bland and i got the mash potato and tomato salad. Service was good as we sat at the bar.

Yelp
I am on the fence about this place. The staff, environment, and some of the food is fantastic. My family started off with the spinach artichoke dip which had a hint of spice to it with plenty of spinach and artichoke and some cheese. It was very good! The drinks were amazing. We got the aspen aspre and the kickass mule. Regarding entrées I got the dinner special which was a pork with a type of cherry sauce on top. That was amazing! It came with asparagus and some kind of grits side which were not up to par with the pork chop. My girlfriend got the roasted chicken which was very disappointing. It was very bland. Once you got past herb crusted skin, the meat did not have any flavor to it, as if none of the spices penetrated the skin. Luckily our server was amazing and made amends. I am on the fence on whether or not I will come back to this place.

Yelp
Hot Toddy's, Lamb belly appetizer, Beef Stroganoff and Pork Shoulder and shared the marinated beets. Staff was very helpful. The design is beautiful. Reasonably priced too.

Yelp
Came in the fall and ate inside - a treat! I love the architecture. It's a nice place to sit and look around, with unique wood ceilings, wood posts between booths, and uplifting blue paint. The shrimp scampi with garlic cream sauce was excellent! Friend got crispy chicken sandwich which he enjoyed. They have a full bar and mocktails which was great for me since I had a 2 hour drive ahead of me. This is a shining spot in Leadville. They have space heaters and a fire pit outside. A draw! Seating at the bar can be faster than getting a table. When I came in winter early this year - No utensils provided for takeout. Winter squash was not good - felt like watery baby food and the contrast of the pumpkin seeds wasn't good. I was expecting a nice pairing. It felt like mush with a couple of random crunches. Artichoke dip shined and baked max & cheese was more like lasagna. Friggen loved all the layers of cheese, each with a different consistency.

Yelp
Back again and Super delicious again!.. and the service was great as usual I'm glad we came back to this place
google avatar

Yelp
What an amazing little gem in Leadville! The food was extravagant and delicious. The staff was kind, friendly, and professional. We will definitely return on our next trip!
google avatar

Yelp
This family owned restaurant absolutely lived up to all the wonderful reviews. The service was excellent...thanks Sal! We loved the homemade tomato soup...so flavorful and fresh. The meatballs were in a lovely, sweet tomato sauce, the crisp, smashed potatoes were salted "just right" and the shrimp scampi was full of garlic and was just delicious. We will definitely come back to this great spot on our next visit.

Tom M.

Yelp
Been here a couple times, love it, really the only option in town for more upscale modern cuisine. Food and service have been amazing every time I've been here, with one exception. The burrata was served as only a half ball, which was very disappointing. Instead of getting to cut into a perfect sphere we were served a lumpy white mess, which still tasted pretty good. It just felt skimpy, I've never been served half of a ball of burrata, robbing me of the joy of slicing into it. On the positive side, blackened cod was great! It's not easy to find good seafood around here. Cocktails were fun and interesting, and desert was incredible. Highly recommend going here but don't order the burrata unless you love disappointment.

Susan F.

Yelp
Inconsistent and expensive. But so few places to choose from in Leadville so you just have to hope they're having a good day.
google avatar

Jesse K.

Yelp
Treeline was the perfect spot for a romantic dinner to conclude our trip to Leadville! The service was friendly and fantastic. We indulged in the tuna tartare which is highly recommended, the lamb shank special (DROOL), the shrimp scampi, a spicy margarita bottle, and finished with an espresso martini. The espresso martini was second to none as it was perfectly made with a good balance and sugar-Tim! I also personally complimented the chef on the lamb shank which was one of the best I've ever had.

Yelp
First time to Leadville and Treeline was recommended. It was a Thursday night, about 6:30-6:45, and the the place was not very busy. When we asked for a table for 2, the hostess hesitated and spent some time searching for a table on her tablet and I said we'd be happy to eat at the bar; she thanked us but said she had a table for us. I was curious and checked their website to see if we should have made a reservation and according to the reservation app (Resy) it was wide open for both the dining room and hightops in the bar. Every 15 minutes, there were tables available for the remainder of the night, so we thought it was odd she made us feel she was doing us a favor by seating us. We were taken to a table, had a great dinner (delicious food) and ordered a couple of drinks. The second drink took a little while to get, but there were still 4-5 empty tables of 4. At about 7:45, halfway through our second drinks, the hostess appeared and said they needed our table for a reservation. NEVER ONCE did she tell us our time would be limited. Even the people next to us were shocked as they, too, looked around the restaurant at the other empty tables and agreed it was rude to ask us to leave. When we did leave, no one was was waiting in the entryway/lobby. Had the hostess said that we needed to vacate the table at a certain time, that would have been just fine--at least we would have been warned and would not have ordered a second drink. Also, had we known, we would have sat at the bar as we offered to do!! But we were in the middle of enjoying our second drink, chatting, and sharing pictures we had taken that day, when we were asked to leave. Because the food was delicious, we were considering returning the next night (tomorrow), but right then and there, we decided not to. My husband was so irritated, that 30 minutes later, he walked back to the restaurant (we stayed just a block away) and he peeked inside; there were still open tables. Again, we would have had no problem making it a quick meal had we known we had to leave at a certain time. We felt embarrassed leaving and extremely irritated. So I recommend making sure up front if you will be kicked out!

Tyla R.

Yelp
Where do I begin? Spent 3 nights in Leadville, tried to get in the first two nights with no success then wised up to the fact you need a reservation. Was it worth it on night 3? Well there was a mixed review from our table. I had the lamb pasta and it was fabulous, the lamb was so tender and there was this dollop of goat cheese that just made the dish! My husband had the beef stroganoff. Now not your home made beef stroganoff from granny's, but very tasty. Only complaint was the egg noodles were mush and I mean that literally. Expressed that tidbit to the server but she didn't seem to care. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Two kids had Mac n cheese and the potato apres ski (fancy term for loaded baked, then mashed, then fried potato). They were thrilled. Other kid got the special which was seared ahi tuna steak. She was giddy too. Finally we also had the tuna tar tar, well I guess we had that first because it was an appetizer, and it was a big hit. So as you can see other than a mishap on the egg noodles in the stroganoff and lack of interest from the server, this place is excellent......don't forget that reservation....
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
The food was ok but over priced. Service was order at the front, take a seat and food delivered to your table. I had the steak with mashed potatoes and picked onions in a balsamic vinegar. Way to much vinegar, so much so that it took my breath away. The steak was very good, the mashed potatoes were soaked in the vinegar from the pickled onions.... Kathi had the shrimp scampi and says it wasn't that bad.... Nice bar.
google avatar

Kendra K.

Yelp
Loved this spot! Great service, amazing fresh food and beautiful views. Highly recommend coming here if you are in town and defiantly sit on the rooftop if you can. We had two beers, spinach artichoke dip, baked Mac n cheese and a fried chicken sandwich and everything was great.

Kenny C.

Yelp
Every year we visit and the food is terrific with a great staff and service! Highly recommend when in Leadville make Treeline a must stop to eat!
google avatar

Yelp
Easily one of the best restaurants in Leadville. We were able to get in and seated despite the restaurant being quite busy. Great drink selection with seasonal flavors. Food was FABULOUS. Creative flavors, and a truly talented kitchen!

Jessica C.

Yelp
This place is tucked away in the main downtown area of Leadville and is super cute inside! Service was on point and the happy hour drinks were delish. Food was also tasty too. Mom and i ordered the lamb pasta, fruit crisp dessert, and salmon special . I will say next time I will pass on the artichoke dip. But we will be back for sure!!

Marty M.

Yelp
Not good. First the menu was changed there wasn't cornbread. After reading a previous review I guess we got lucky on that. My wife ordered the chicken sandwich and it was barely warm and you can't even get mayo for it. I ordered the fried chicken, it and the chicken for the chicken sandwich were precooked both were hardly warm. They came out in within 5 minutes. The fried chicken was so small the leg was the size of a drummette on a wing. Had to ask for salt and pepper. It was slow there tonight but the waitress never checked on us or refilled my ice tea. There are not a lot of choices in Leadville now we have one less. Boy I miss The Grill.

Sarahi P.

Yelp
Peaches! What a fun vibe you get right away in this kitchen. Had an awesome experience passing by and trying their unique cocktail and pork chop dish; flavor combination with the peach topping was well done. I recommend if you want to have a relaxing sit down meal with top notch attentive and friendly service in Leadville, CO. p.s. the mash potatoes were heavenly!

Yelp
Great food, great staff and great atmosphere. And the fried chicken is gluten free AND in a GF fryer. Highly recommend.

Yelp
There aren't a lot of high end restaurants in Leadville, but Treeline is the notable exception. Their menu, though not huge, has some wonderful dishes. I don't eat meat, but their blackened Cod, salmon, honey glazed tofu & Chick Pea Curry are terrific! They've got some really creative cocktails - and their bartenders don't skimp on their pours! If you can, ask to sit on the rooftop - the view is spectacular!

Stephen M.

Yelp
Our experience with Treeline Kitchen was horrible. First, we show up and are told they are full, and the wait exceeds how long they will be open. So we make a rooftop reservation for the following evening. We show up the following evening and can not be seated on the rooftop due to a "private event" we didn't even see anyone up there. Ok, enough of that let's get to the food. We had a party of 6 and our bill was just shy of $200 this price is insane for what we got. Let's start with appetizers. The cornbread was a joke. It was the thickness of a pancake and burnt to a crisp. The crab Rangoons were over fried and had zero filling. The fried chicken was under cooked. And the biggest let down of them all was the $24 Lamb pasta. We expected this dish to have a nice large pile of lamb but we were hard pressed to find any. The smell of the sauce was almost nauseating. Alright, now the service. When we asked for water, the waitress basically pointed at the 2 half empty water containers on the table and said we have water in the glass containers. Oh really??? I had no idea those were there. There is a reason we wanted more, so just bring it when we ask. Lastly it took forever to get our outrageous bill so we could get the heck out of there. Oh, did I mention it was hot as heck in there.

James B.

Yelp
Why would you drive all the way to Aspen when the food at Treeline in Leadville is better. Family run , this is a gem of a restaurant. Menu is terrific with daily specials. As the owner said, " it's all about flavor" and of course ingredients ( locally sourced as much as possible, lamb, beef, pork) . I had lamb one night black cod the next. Starters ( wontons stuffed with crab, beet salad) are great. The service team makes you feel like a regular. Booths have zinc tops. The bar is great and the bartender is a pro. Rooftop view is unmatched. Kudos to Christina and Eric and their family for their great hospitality and delicious food.

William S.

Yelp
The only reason I can't give five stars is the limited beer offerings. Where are the local brews? Food is amazing though. Save some space for dessert. They slay.

Emily C.

Yelp
Awesome spot with delicious food and beverages. Very pricey which makes sense for the area- limited access for delivery drivers etc. fresh ingredients, wonderful service, and an intimate setting.

Yelp
We were in Leadville for a few days for some hiking and ended up at this spot twice. We showed up on a Wednesday to a killer wait but was able to make reservations for later. The next time we preemptively made reservations. They had signs posted apologizing for slow service and our waitress apologized multiple times the first night but I thought it moved along fine. The second time did drag, but that was more due to an inattentive server. Both times the food was great and the prices were right. I had the fried chicken and chicken sandwich and Mac and cheese. We also tried the peach bruschetta. The corn bread looked awesome but was massive and we didn't feel like taking it on. Overall great spot if you are in town. Bonus points for the fire on the patio out front.

Yelp
The host at the Airbnb we were staying at recommended Treeline, so we decided to stop by. They have a great rooftop outdoor seating section that has views of all the mountains around the city, and a great view of the city's main street. The view was worth eating there alone. I went with a chicken sandwich and baked mac and cheese. I asked what they had for heat and they offered me a side of their chili sauce. The food came out pretty quickly and we started eating it. The chicken sandwich was good, juicy, and the chili sauce was the perfect thing to top it with. The mac and cheese was a little less on the cheese side, but it was good and not too heavy like some mac and cheese. The chili on top of that was great. My wife did the jalapeno corn bread and the chicken and she enjoyed her meal. We did a marshmallow ice cream topped cookie in a skillet for dessert and ate it up in seconds. The total before tip was around $37 which felt very reasonable as we had two meals, two sides, and a dessert. As I said, the view was definitely worth a couple bucks as well. Great meal and we would stop back...though I don't know if I'll ever be in Leadville again.

Yelp
Yep! Definitely lived up to the hype of the other reviews. Wife and I both had some super yummy grub and a kickin cocktail to boot! Reasonable prices too!

Yelp
Of all the places I've eaten in Colorado, Treeline gets the gold. Seriously, from atmosphere to the service to the abundance of locally sourced fare, this place is outstanding. Sit at the bar or grab a booth, and be prepared for a gastronomic delight. We shared some starters (jalapeño corn bread, and Roasted Kale) and added two sides (Colorado Greek Salad and Mac and Cheese). And these where tough choices given the menu! Plenty of wines and local brews to join the fun too. I'll submit, dear reader, I'm bummed I didn't save room fo the deserts - they look that good. But now you know... Enjoy!
