Where to Eat in Cornwall, UK | Bon Appétit

"The gardens showcase outrageous palm trees and tropical flora thriving in Cornwall's temperate climate, with contemporary sculptures interspersed throughout; our favorite was the James Turrell installation set into the hillside, whose oculus brings the sky seemingly within reach. It's a bit of a trek to get to, but well worth it—if you're lucky you may be the only visitor." - ByChris Morocco

Lovely walk with fantastic views. The sculptures around the gardens are lovely but I really enjoyed the walk and views. Lots of seating opportunities. Depending on which route you take around the garden there is a steep incline which you can go up or down but you can avoid it completely if you’d prefer. We took our 2 dogs and it is very dog friendly. Plenty of parking. The cafe looked busy when we were there and we didn’t use it but it seemed very popular. Have been to Tremenheere many times over the years and will continue to go for years to come.

My second visit and I wasn't disappointed but delighted that it still excited me as much as the first time. Was a warm day and we took the the dogs so the shade and stream kept us cool. The wonderful ferns and pools with sculptures hidden but revealed around the next corner. Sculptures to allow to to process and make your own opinions, sculptures with hidden meanings, sculptures that display a feeling and allow you to explore and understand what the artist was conveying. To top it off a wonderful cafe to talk about your experience and refuel . ❤️

Cornwall is not short of gardens, and with the local climate they all appear to be amazing, however Tremenheere stands out head above the crowd. With the paths that keep inviting you to explore and the amazing views and sudden vistas it is certainly amazing. It is also full of contrasts... Whilst calming it triggers curiosity, whilst poetic it is bold. On top of that there is an amazing restaurant on the grounds, with food served in manner which entices you to try and then finish each and every bit.

I came here for a dog friendly afternoon out. What a lovely place. It’s very steep so not for everyone but I did see someone with a pram. There are step-free paths all around. The steepness makes for loads of amazing views across to st. Michael’s Mount. Many interesting sculptures which seem sensitive to their surroundings. Beautiful planting as well in a jungle style. Really enjoyed our visit and the dog was knackered so bonus points.

Today, 11th September 2025, I was again the driver of the Newquay Lions 🦁 Minibus 🚐. I took the "Beaches & Cream", Newquay W.I. here for this week's excursion. This was my 3rd visit here. The Cafe/Restaurant is a little expensive, but always great food & service 😋. There's a gift shop, a garden plants 🪴 shop with a great view of St. Michael's Mount. Always a great day out. 😎🦁

Been living in cornwall 2 years & taking holidays here for donkeys years and I'd never heard of this place. I'd been missing out. I went today on a locals special offer after spotting it on Google maps. What a treat, free parking, gorgeous cafe, shop, toilets and picnic area before you even reach the gardens. The team there say 90 minutes to go around, we took our time and ate and ended up there 5 hours, we didn't see it all either. You never knew what plants, colours or sculpture treats you were going to find around the next corner, and the views were spectacular. Staff were friendly especially the guy in the succulent shop, very helpful and great tips, can't wait to come back and sort my garden out for summer. Weather was gorgeous. I particularly liked the sky room watching the clouds. What an absolute gem. More people should know about it. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic!! We were not expecting this amount of amazing things to see. I recommend visiting if you are on holidays or living around here. Beautiful and such an enormous varieties of plants flowers art, all with great views of the mount. We will definitely be back. Only down we paid full price even if we live locally, high season it is!!

We have previously visited the restaurant and the succulent shop but not had time to visit the gardens, so glad we made time this trip. I personally didnt get a lot of the sculptures but the gardens and views are stunning. A lovely place to visit. Plenty of places to sit, relax and just enjoy being in the gardens.
