I believe this farmer's market existed before last summer, but it was tiny and took place on Starkweather across the street from Lucky's. Since last summer, the farmer's market has been going strong at Lincoln Park every Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 pm.
This is a really nice little gathering of families, singles, dogs, kids, and musicians. There are about 10-15 vendors, ranging from the hippie who sells flax cookies to chefs doing demos from places like Dante or Greenhouse Tavern. Sometimes Ohio City pasta will be there. There's a stand devoted to hot sauces, one to pierogies, one to cheeses from grass-fed cows, and a bunch to fresh fruits and/or vegetables. And there's usually a live band playing to add to the mood. It's nice to stop by and just walk around, because it only takes about 5-10 minutes to make your way around to each stand. And if you're not sure what to make for dinner, you can get any number of meats too.
Tip: if you go a bit later on, like around 6:30, you may see more discounts for vendors needing to sell stuff (I got 2 croissants for the price of one this way). However, in the case of when the awesome pie guy is there from Solon, you'll want to go early because all the best pies sell out!
Definitely worth visiting at least once!
