We arrived around 6:30pm on Friday (no reservation) and were seated immediately. It’s a lovely setting, seating was comfortable and it was about 75% full. Live guitarist who played beautifully, the reason for the 5 stars for ambience.
Our waiter was excellent, very attentive, and often asked if we needed anything further. The one blonde pony-tailed woman who brought our paella out and slapped the pan down on our table and didn’t say a word was probably the only black mark I’d give for service, but everyone else was excellent.
For tapas we ordered pork belly pave (just ok, probably wouldn’t order again); gambas al ajillo (overcooked and hard, sauce was ok, definitely wouldn’t order again); grilled octopus (I expected more flavor here so was disappointed). We all enjoyed the braised short rib empanadas - seasoned well, meat tender, nice pastry - would recommend. As for the paella mixta, it was nice. Seasoning and recipe depends on what you’re used to and what part of Spain the recipe is from. Super tiny shrimp, small cubes of chicken and pork, and the mussels and calamari were tiny but I sometimes forget this is Vegas and not a coastal area. Having said this, I still think it’s worth a try as your taste and experience might be different from what we experienced.
