Tres Dos Tres - Review - Sawtelle - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Former Dodger Adrián González is already onto his second restaurant opening, a Chipotle-esque Mexican concept that’s next door to his first spotSlizeria(which opened last month). At Tres Dos Tres, named for LA's 323 area code, pick from build-your-own tacos, burritos, bowls, or baked potatoes with proteins like carne asada, adobada, or filet mignon. There are also eight salsas of different heat levels available, enough to put theHot Oneslineup to shame." - Cathy Park

The Baseline: For a Mexican fast casual restaurant the flavors of the food must make use of the prime Mexican ingredients (corn, beans, chiles, rice, cheese, and meats), preparation of sauces/salsas must be fresh, the meal portion size must make me feel full, and service must be efficient. Food: Pretty solid flavors for the Carnitas bowl I bought here. The carnitas was well seasoned and the melted fat was mixed into the shredded meat. The beans, veggies, and chilis were well integrated into the bowl. It was also well priced at a little under 11 dollars for the portion I got. Service: Good service and friendly when I ordered. Made sure to offer me salsa and other items. Ambiance: Clean fast casual seating and the restaurant is new/clean/organized.

This is Chipotle but juiced up. Their signature salsas bring so much flavour to the burrito bowl and the people who run the store are so exceptionally kind. They kept asking what I wanted more of and recommended a bunch of their salsas. Their roasted pineapples are amazing !

Google
Very very delicious .! I had the carne asada burrito, no after taste, carne tasted like carne.. not prepackaged, the salsas now that’s a different story .. all delicious but be aware of the habanero one lol that one is fire 🔥 just a small drop goes a long way,! Highly recommend this restaurant., will definitely return. As you can see my picture the burrito is all gone, yummy!

Sawtelle doesn’t need anymore ramen shops or boba stops. But Sawtelle does lack fresh, affordable Mexican food. Look no further than Tres Dos Tres. Came here for grand opening weekend and this place is legit!

Google
Great food. Affordable prices. Friendly staff. Nice neighborhood. Would recommend the bowls and papas. I might Doordash them again.

Google
Fantastic spot to get your Mexican fix. All ingredients I’ve tried are proper fresh, the asada, the chicken, very good carnitas and both black and pinto beans. You can go carb free without the rice and tortillas to make this a high protein and high fiber (beans) meal. And also salsas are very very good and freeeeesh. Tip: Order on their app for rewards.

Google
Delicious burritos and tacos, generous portions, fair pricing ($10 - 12), super clean, and the nicest employees. Everything tastes fresh and my burrito is always stuffed to the max. Parking is free underground for 30 mins with validation (show the receipt). I go here at least once a week 🌝!

My new favorite place. Super tasty, fresh, and healthy! Loved all of the delicious sauces! I recommend all to try every single sauce! Very affordable prices. Great service from the workers as well. Thank you!

Yelp
Since I had to return to office, I decided to go explore the new eateries and I am so glad Tres Dos Tres was one of the first places I visited. The restaurant is essentially a more gourmet Chipotle (or as owner Adrian Gonzalez told me a 'more Mexican Chipotle') and I say that as a point of praise. All of the ingredients were extremely flavorful and portioned out wonderfully. My burrito was bursting at the seams. I had a hard time deciding what meat I wanted to get so I was very happy to hear that you can do half & half if you want. It really lets you try more on a single visit. The interior is warm and inviting. It's very clean and 'hip' in all the right ways. It is a bit small, but most eateries in this area are. You can tell this is meant mostly to cater to people grabbing food to go. But, if you do choose to eat here, there are very nice tables to enjoy your meal. Staff was wonderful. They were happy to answer any questions we had and seemed to take pride in making our meals. I did, however, feel bad for the workers in the back. You could tell they were still working out their ventilation because a lot of the smoke from the grills were wafting all the way in to the main eating area. It made the whole place smell amazing, but it meant that the kitchen was just full of smoke. That couldn't be good for the chefs. In all, I will absolutely be coming back here for future lunches. And I am always telling coworkers that they gotta check it out for themselves.

Yelp
I genuinely like this place. Do I think it is the most authentic Mexican food? No, BUT if you take it for what it is, it's pretty good. The tortilla is made fresh, the portions are decently sized and the prices are not too bad! Think of it as a slightly more authentic Chipotle, with MUCH better salsas. We stopped in for a quick dinner and were VERY skeptical because it's Mexican food... on the Westside... I came in with very low expectations but was pleasantly surprised! The meat was flavorful and juicy, ample sides to choose from and the salsas actually had some kick! Service is very friendly and there is ample indoor/patio seating. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Some are saying this is worse than Chipotle? Absolutely not. While the concept is the same, 323 is definitely better. The burritos are huge, everything is fresh, service is friendly, and you're definitely gonna be stuffed. I got a burrito and by recommendation from the employee I got the pork since it was freshly made and juicy. And while it definitely was, I wish I got carne asada since that's what I was actually in the mood for. Thankfully I got a carne asada taco on the side to try that out, and it was definitely good. I was gonna happily say guacamole doesn't even cost extra here, but I just checked my receipt and it does. $2.40 for guac on the burrito, $1.20 on the taco. But they won't give you a heads up when you other, something to keep in mind. Overall, I wasn't sure what to expect coming in, but it definitely better than my expectations, and I would come back. While it might not be the best place to get tacos in LA, it's still really good, and better than any franchise burrito spot.

Yelp
Stopped by on Friday, 09/05/25 for the first time with my boyfriend. Located in Sawtelle, Los Angeles, we stumbled upon this place; my boyfriend saw this on Instagram and we wanted to check it out (relatively new location). Ordered the following to-go: - 1 Rice Bowl (Carne Asada, Brown Beans, Mexican Rice) with Flour tortillas on the side = $12 TAX (9.75%) = $1.17 OVERALL TOTAL = $13.17 ************************************** - 1 Burrito (Carnitas) = $10 TAX (9.75%) = $0.98 OVERALL TOTAL = $10.98 My boyfriend got the burrito and I got the rice bowl. This place reminds me of Chipotle. The bowl was okay - portions weren't as filling and generous as Chipotle. Very clean inside!

Yelp
Overall - 9/10 - I came for the grand opening deal on Friday, where everything was $3 this weekend. The store was similar to Chipotle, but it had a more wonderful flavor compared to Chipotle. The food place has ample seating and was pretty empty when I visited because it was the day before their grand opening. The service was quick and the staff was very attentive and answered all my questions. Food - I got a Carne Asada bowl with most of the toppings. The staff were nice and were able to walk me through all the different options. For the bowls, burritos, and tacos, they were a build-your-own style. You would start with your grains & beans, meats, a wide selection of your typical Chipotle-style bowl toppings, and a larger selection of salsa. The salsa bar reminded me of the salsa bars in the Mexican restaurants. The salsas all tasted very fresh & I liked the mild tomato salsa. For the bowl, the size was decent, and they had a lot of wonderful toppings to choose from. They had a wonderful selection of salsa to pair with your bowl. I always enjoy the green salsa, and the tomato salsa was also wonderful. The meat had a wonderful flavor, and it paired well with the salsa, and the Chipotle sauce was a good complement for the bowl. Overall experience - I loved the experience of the food and the build-your-own experience at the food place. I feel that it is a similar price to other fast-casual Mexican places with a similar bowl/burrito/taco experience. The food was wonderful, and I would try out different meats the next time I come to visit the Mexican place again. I took takeout, so I did not have a photo of the food that I ordered.

Yelp
New Mexican restaurant on Sawtelle in the Olympic collection! Similar to Chipotle, this is a build-your-own plate, casual restaurant. 1. Choose your style: taco plate, burrito, bowl, or baked potato 2. Choose your base: rice, beans, quinoa (extra charge) 3. Choose your protein: carne asada, pollo asado, carnitas, veggies 4. Choose your sauce - lots to choose from with different degrees of spiciness 5. Other toppings like veggies, onions, pico de gallo, cilantro, etc. Corn or flour tortillas made to order. I got a carnitas bowl with rice and beans and Mayan salsa. Spicy! The bowl came with 2 tortillas. Looking forward to coming back and trying the other sauces. Lots of flavor, fast service, and plenty of tables for dining in. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Many are comparing this to Chipotle, which is true, but it's the worse version. The rice is mushy, the beans are goopy, the meat isn't as tender or flavorful, the toppings are lesser quality ingredients. The one good thing going for this place is the dugout macha. It's listed as one of the spiciest, but it wasn't spicy at all. I mean, none. However, it was super flavorful. Oh well, gave it a try.

Yelp
Been here twice and they have really good bowls! The chicken is good, toppings are fresh. I got the spicy pineapple and spicy bell peppers in my bowl and they added that kick! I got all my salsas on the side and flour tortilla on the side. It was great! Their guacamole is also delicious. It is very clean and new inside. Highly recommend!

Yelp
My honey loves the Dodgers, so he wanted to check out 323 when we were going somewhere close to Tres Dos Tres. We ordered the taco plate to share, just to get a taste of the offerings. We ordered an asada and a adobada taco. Both meats were tasty! The brown beans were really good, and the rice was nice too. The only issue is the freshly made tortillas fell apart right away--didn't even get one bite before they split. The two guys working the counter were really friendly and helpful in explaining choices! Inside has a pretty mural; seating is typical fast food tables. We plan on going back to try more! Go Dodgers!

Yelp
This place is absolutely better than chipotle. So I'm going back for lunch and enjoying a carne asada bowl. Yummmm

Yelp
For the portion this is awful. I got tiny portions for two burritos and two tacos. It left a nasty taste in the mouth. You need to give enough meat in the burrito or tacos. Never coming back again!

Yelp
I wanted to see what all the hype was about!! Yes I agree same like chipotle but when it comes to the service & food there is no comparison. I ordered the carne asada burrito with pinto beans... super delicious! There was no after taste, when I eat chipotle I burp, heartburn and a horrible after taste that's the reason I stopped going but I'm glad this place open.. One thing for sure beware of the habanero salsa it's literally fire !! all the other salsas are good too!! Loved the service, it wasn't packed which you can enjoy your food, 2 thumbs up! Will be a returning customer.!

Yelp
Our family made it to 323 Friday evening during their grand opening. three of the four ordered carne asada as our protein, wife and daughter enjoyed with their burrito, I had the tacos and other daughter ordered the chicken bowl. We also ordered a side of chips and guacamole. I also received a side of black beans and rice as part of my taco plate. The server added cilantro, grilled onions too but no shredded lettuce as they ran out. The tacos were tasty as well as the burritos and bowl. I would pass on the rice next time as it was not very tasty or appealing [think thick clump of starch]. Maybe the best items we ordered were the chips and guacamole! The chips were thick, crisp and seasoned well and the guacamole was super delicious. We look forward to trying other items on the menu but will skip the rice next time!

Yelp
We stumbled across this spot driving to our apartment the other week. Decided to come here for dinner tonight and it was insane! Puts Chipotle to sleep! We got a bowl and a potato and the salsa was incredible. I got the pineapple salsa and my husband got the Mayan which is super spicy. The carne asada was sweet and their fajitas veggies were so good as well. Great pricing great portions and nice staff! We'll be back!

Yelp
Delicious food and amazing service! So tasty. Very convenient location. I especially loved the chips and salsa.

Yelp
2 tacos with pork and bean and rice, the pork was over cooked the tortillas were dry and the whole things was cold. Will not go back ,I think Chipotle is much better.

Michelle N.

Yelp
I was not as impressed as I thought I would be. I had the chicken burrito and was ok, wish it was hotter. Tortilla felt slightly greasy. Employee needs to spread the ingredients when assembly burrito instead of piling all in middle. Saw another customer ordering the taco plate , the rice and beans portion was so small just a couple tablespoons at most.

Yelp
Delicious, healthy and they are so NICE! Read a review on yelp and it was new in our neighborhood. Super fast, fresh and YUM. We did two bowls- I did veggie only, the quinoa and black beans so good. Hubby did pork and also high delicious marks! Looking forward to trying potato next time. Staff very friendly, and very clean too!
