Let's first start off that this is my updated review, it's crazy because I was the first to review this place and the man behind the counter was so nice and accommodating.
But to my dismay, yesterday I ordered a small tres leche cake for mg mothers surprise lunch. I called asked how much would a small cake be, the lady over phone informed me that it would be $20. I said perfect, let me call you back to confirm order. I called 2 times, no answer. I gave up, I receive a call back and she tells me they can make the cake, and it would be $25, if I would like to pick up Friday night, or Saturday morning, I said Saturday is fine,
I ordered a tres leche with caramel filling. To my dismay I get there, I wait for 10 mins before she comes out. Then Karina (owner) gives me her back as if she didn't want me to see it. I ask Can I see it, she goes yes, she shows me. I ask, is that coconut, she goes yes, I'm like ok. The filling is still caramel. She goes no it's coconut filling, I go I'm confused. I ordered a tres leche cake with caramel filling. She's like, oh yes you did I'm sorry, were all human we make mistakes, would you still like to take it. We can make another for you in 10 mins. I ask you can make one in ten minutes? She goes yes i Can, she then proceeded to explain to me that, we are human we make mistakes. I ask was it you that took my order over the phone, she goes yes it was, I go what was the order, she goes caramel, so then I ask why would you make me a coconut cake. She then says I'm sorry I made a mistake. I go, I have guests waiting, I have to leave, what's the status of the other cake, and she then gets mad, and goes you have to wait, you know I don't feel comfortable selling you the cake, that was a second after I informed her, I will be updating my Yelp review as you as the owner are just rude.
A group of people walk in, i walk out because I said ok. Then I realized I was already charged for the cake. I go either I get a refund, I take the coconut cake or you give me the new cake. She gets frazzled she didn't realized I was already charged. She tells me ok I will give you a refund. She then proceeds to explain to me that we are human I'm mad, I go how long to refund. I go ok, but if I order caramel, you can't give me coconut, it doesn't work that way. She pulls out $5 from the register says here's 20% off the coconut cake, and some cream to wet the cake. I'm in awe, she did that because she realized I was going to continue to explain that being rude does not help her business. And I asked her is there some sort of discount for this cake since it is the wrong cake.
To my dismay I get to my apartment, I live 2 blocks away, and I find out, grandma is allergic to coconut.
I still had to go to another bakery, get a cake and be late to the surprise lunch.
Will not be returning. Thank you Karina, for your horrible service, and running my surprise.
The cake looks nice, we just threw it out, because I was so mad, and this cake just was an annoying process.
It looks good, can't tell you how it tastes since we didn't try it.
