10 Spots for Poke in Charleston | Eater Carolinas

"Tres Palmas owner Wyatt Morris loved the stripped-down poke he had on a research trip to Hawaii, so he decided to bring his variation to the Mount Pleasant shop, where he specializes in smoothie bowls. Find large chunks of ahi, avocado, cucumber, edamame, and a little extra crunch from crispy fried onion strips in his hearty bowl." - Parker Milner

8 Best Smoothie or Acai Bowls in Charleston | Eater Carolinas

"Follow this wandering food truck throughout the Lowcountry for overflowing acai bowls. The boujee bowl comes with layers of peanut butter, big chunks of fresh fruit, and a large serving of granola. The best way to track the locally-focused truck is via Instagram." - Parker Milner

If you want a nice healthy açaí bowl this is the place! I am more used to açaí that is a bit sweeter, and the açaí was also pretty watery. Great flavor combos and quick service!

Katie Bryant (FreshFitKate)

Google
The only place I will grab an acai bowl from and have been for years. I love that Tres only uses healthy ingredients. My favorite bowl is the choco bowl fresfitkate modified. I substitute nutella for organic peanut butter, add protein to the base, gluten free granola and bee pollen on top. So delicious!!!

Google
I like that it’s not too sweet. My friend is an açaí connoisseur and he loved it.

Google
We had the acai bowls. The ingredients are fresh, and the acai wasn't oversweetened like it usually is in other places. The staff is very friendly as well. We are visiting from CLT and will surely be back to Palmas Acai when in town

Google
Super yummy Acai Bowls and very reasonably priced. Great flavor and friendly service. Love that they use Nutella in one of their Bowls 🥣 😋.

Google
Very tasty smoothie bowls. Fruit was fresh, and combinations of flavors they offer are good. A small is filling!

Google
Obsessed with their açaí bowls and the mango smoothie is THE BEST 📸@coastal_blonde

Google
Truly the best Acai and poke bowls in Charleston! Always fresh and delicious. The ONLY thing I’d change is longer hours 🤪 Sometimes I want a poke bowl for dinner and other local places aren’t worth it!

Yelp
I'm so glad I finally went here. I had been meaning to come for a while because I have seen my coworkers get the bowls for lunch and was super peanut butter and jealous. So I finally went after work. I got the choco bowl because chocolate, and it did not disappoint. It was so yummy, and I didn't feel too guilty about eating. I felt like I was eating dessert. It was very rich, so if you don't like intense chocolate flavor you may opt for a different bowl. My coworker recommended the peanut butter bowl so I may try that one next time. The gal at the counter was very friendly, and my bowl was made to order very quickly. The inside was nice, but there isn't really anywhere to sit. May be intentional due to covid. Definitely will return!

Yelp
A group of us waited outside at 830 on a Friday morning and after waiting outside for 15 minutes, someone finally came outside only to say they don't open until 9 and wouldn't be able to serve anyone for another 15 minutes. If this is true, the location should update their hours on this site as it's inaccurate. And I question why an açaí bowl location would choose to open so late when most customers come in the morning. All of the patrons outside left when they were told this.

Yelp
Great service, big portions, friendly staff, average açaí with crappy plastic spoon. I hope they get new spoons.

Yelp
I have been going here since they were just a food truck and they are amazing! I love their Acai bowls, they're the best in the area by FAR. Yes, they are a little on the expensive side but the owners and their mother are the kindest people, and I don't mind supporting their growing business. 10/10 would recommend!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious açaí bowl, & vegan friendly! Friendly and knowledgeable staff! I ordered the Boujee bowl, This is made with Açaí blend, granola, raspberries, banana, blueberries, coconut, chia seeds, hemp hearts, bee pollen, cacao nibs, peanut butter, honey drizzle. Of course to make it vegan and fit with my allergies. I asked for no coconut, bee pollen or honey drizzle, they were very accommodating! My only regret is ordering cacao nibs I asked the guy if it was chocolate and he said no but didn't tell me what it was so I just decided to try it but unless you know what they are and like the taste of them don't order them (or order on the side)... they are crunchy and very bitter. Can't wait to be back!

Yelp
Got a wonderful tuna poke bowl from Tres Palmas Açaí. Portion size was better than many poke places. Would 100% recommend. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I read all the reviews of how this was the best açaí and I was very disappointed. Not only was it overpriced (açaí is usually expensive but this was ridiculous) $11/$13 I bought 4 bowels due to reviews clambering that this was the best they had ever had and I realized I'd been duped. There was not much açaí and way too much granola and seeds. It ended up being dry. The taste was not good. If this was the first time I'd had açaí I would never get it again. Fortunately I have had a lot of it and know what it should taste like. I would not come back here.

Evelyn T.

Yelp
Açaí doesn't taste like açaí, it tastes like banana and nothing else, tastes weird but def not açaí

Chloe P.

Yelp
HIGHLY recommend the boujee bowl if u love peanut butter like me. This place was so good I wish I lived near here so I could come more often !

Anson C.

Yelp
This is my favorite acai bowl spot in Mount Pleasant. Their fruit is always fresh and their bowls are consistent in size and taste. Other acai places have fruit that seems to have been cut a few days prior, but not here! I will mention that they do tend to be heavy on the granola and toppings, so sometimes the amount of acai isn't proportional to the toppings, but it is still amazing! (If you're trying to get more acai, get a large bowl, the toppings stay mostly the same but you'll get more of the acai base). I always get the choco bowl which has nutella, cacao nibs, and fruit and it's always perfect! There is another acai place nearby, but if you're stuck between the two, this is definitely the one to pick!

Yelp
Amazing acai bowls!!! Such generous portions and lovely people working there. I heard about this place through the KC Double Take bloggers. Will be visiting again next time I'm in town! Highly recommend.

Annie C.

Yelp
The poke bowl was delicious- but I only had 3 pieces of tuna in my bowl. Actual count. For the price? I don't think so. Very unfortunate bc the actual taste of the bowl was great. But I get a poke bowl for the poke.

Saige S.

Yelp
Amazing açaí. Literally the best I've had in Charleston. I come at least once a week and it never disappoints! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Très Palmas is such a great açaí spot! Not only are all of the workers so kind, but the quality is spot on every time! They have so many options too, always so tasty no matter what I decide on! I love the atmosphere of the store and I love popping up to their trailer! Not only are their signature açaí bowls so delicious, their smoothies are also amazing! Even their non-açaí, smoothie bowls are so so good! Highly recommend to anybody in Charleston or visiting.

Yelp
Such good food!! The most amazing fresh Poke and Acai in town! You can text them your order and they'll let you know when it's ready! So convenient!!

Yelp
One of my favorite açaí places. The boujee bowl is the way to go if you're a peanut butter person.

Gonzales D.

Yelp
My new go to for açaí and smoothies! The food and staff are both amazing. Moving from CA I've been searching for some good acai and this is it. Quick and easy.

Nathaniel C.

Yelp
Best Açaí I've ever had!!!! Hands down the best.....and don't ever forget it. The açaí is the purest and they don't skimp on the toppings ever!

Taylor P.

Yelp
I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS WEAK ASS, HIGHLY OVER PRICED FOR NO REASON, MEDIOCRE ASS, WANNA BE AÇAÍ SPOT!!! This was definitely the worst Açaí spot I've ever been to. So many red flags on my FIRST visit to this store. The picture of the owner smiling was taken right after I asked for his name and he wouldn't give it to me. Since he didn't want to give me his name we will refer to him as Dylan. Dylan was very rude to me when I told him I didn't like the açaí bowl because all I could taste was banana. He claims because he told me the ingredients ahead of time that he had to charge me for another bowl (even though I only took a bite of my first bowl). When I told him I just wanted a refund instead of paying for another bowl he told me they don't do refunds, some more words were exchanged and when I told him I was going to leave with with another bowl or a refund he told me "okay look, I'll give you your refund if you turn around and walk out that door!" The whole thing escalated after he said that. I simply wanted a refund and not have to pay for 2 bowls; when I didn't even start or finish the first one. This review deserves 0 stars. I've never met such a rude owner who purposely ran customers away.

Yelp
Amazing!!! Totally will be back. We just moved to the area and we're craving açaí. I got the small boujee bowl! So fresh and great flavor and combinations! Probably the best açaí I've ever had! Staff was friendly and helpful too.

Nick W.

Yelp
Best acai bowls in Charleston hands down. Nowhere else is even in the same ball park.

Yelp
Used to be a food truck and now they have a storefront! Hours vary. Check their Instagram for daily locations and times. Today, they opened at 11 and there was already a line with 6-7 people waiting when I arrived a couple minutes before the store even opened. And soon after another 6-7 people were waiting behind me so they definitely have a great customer base. They have both acai bowls and smoothies as well as cold brew made with counter culture coffee. I tried their tropical bowl with mango, kiwi, bananas, coconut flakes, hemp hearts, granola, bee pollen and honey drizzle on an Acai base, and it was good. The ingredients all work together well with good crunch and flavor. The fruit was perfectly ripe and fresh. I've had Acai bowls in the past that i thought were a bit more flavorful but it's been so long, maybe my tastes have just changed. All the bowls are about 9-14$ depending on the ingredients and size and some even have peanut butter, chocolate chips, and Nutella. I would love to see a caramel or dulce de leche topping one day. It's a small space with only a few chairs for seating and it gets very loud inside with the blenders and music going so a little difficult to hear your name called when you're waiting if you're not near the counter. Overall a great place.

Yelp
definitely the spot to hit for a quick acai bowl! the service was fast, and it was in a neat shopping center.

Yelp
Gotta be the best açaí places I've ever tasted. The people in there are always so dang kind, no matter what. They've got so many bowls to choose from, from tropical tasting ones, to my personal favorite the chocobowl (you need to try it) I'm a huge foodie, and I've been to many many açaí places and this one is HANDS DOWN The best.

Courteney S.

Yelp
Hands down the best Açaí bowls in the area - they are the only comparison to the incredible Açaí you've had outside of the country.

Peggy B.

Yelp
Tasted amazing! Went for my first visit today and had the boujee bowl. It was delicious! Friendly staff and quick service. I will definitely be back.

Perrin P.

Yelp
best acai ever. seriously ever. i love to travel and always try to get acai when i'm traveling, and nothing has ever beat tres palmas, even in charleston! always love coming here and being greeted with smiling faces and amazing food! don't waste your time going anywhere else- tres palmas is where it's at!!

Suzanne F.

Yelp
My daughters went here for lunch yesterday and both of them became sick with food poisoning. They will definitely not be going back EVER.
