Quite possibly the worst ever boerewors we've ever had. The skin on the sausage was so thick we couldn't eat it. The sausage was tough and dry. $127 for 3 1kg packs. I'd return the other 2 if I could. No use by date on the packs. I had to wonder how long they'd been in the freezer 🤔

I used to love coming here but for quite some time their slicer has been out of action and I have had to put up with super thick slices served by a guy who didn't really seem to care too much... Next time I will buy a slab and cut it myself... Sad to see a good biz go downhill... I won't post up pictures to give these guys a chance hut just not acceptable in current format

Stopped by the shop on March 2nd to buy some biltong. The quality is good, but the cut is quite thick, which may not be for everyone. It was also quite pricey—$40 for 200g. But if you like biltong give it a try .

Today was the last time I will support this business. The young guy had the music blaring so loudly after three times repeating what I wanted and him not hearing me, I had to raise my voice a little and he snapped at me not to shout at him. Unprofessional and rude.

Charged me $53 for 300g of Topside Biltong, website says its $36 for 500g

Met with the owner's daughter at the stand - she has the most in-depth knowledge on every product and was so excited to tell us everything about all of the meats. Even when we would mention just a little thing about the flavour of something, she would eagerly burst with energy and engagement and tell us about how much she loved certain products over others. We ended up sharing a really enjoyable experience learning about South and West African cured meats, and just to talk on the food itself - it was absolutely divine! The nicest, fattiest, warmest of spices jerkies I've ever tried. Definitely come by! Also the biltong is divine and soooo cheap

The biltong tastes great but Tribal Tastes is a strangely inconsistent experience. First visit: Employee let me sample the wetter and drier versions of the traditional biltong. Both versions are $9 per 100g. I'm told that there's a minimum purchase weight. Second visit: Two employees working there. I ask again for samples of the wetter and drier traditional biltong. I'm told there's no drier biltong, and am instead pointed to a different dry jerky that's double the price per 100g. As I'm deliberating my choice, I overhear one employee tell the other to charge more for drier traditional biltong—even though (1) I was told there wasn't drier biltong and (2) I was previously told both versions were $9 per 100g. There was also no mention of a minimum purchase weight this time, even though I did not meet it. The way the biltong was sliced up (thickness, size) and packaged (double-layered paper bag vs single layer) also varied greatly between both my visits. Overall, I have no issue with the biltong itself—I think it's delicious. However, the inconsistencies in customer service and pricing has created a slightly dishonest impression of the business. Hopefully this review can get things sorted out!

Guess we shouldn’t have gone the weekend before Christmas, they must have been in a rush to get the biltong out for sale as it was under seasoned and under cured. Taste and texture was that of raw meat. Definitely worth the drive to Tony’s meats in the west or east instead.
