Chef Daniel Asher Is Building Golden’s First Food Hall | Eater Denver

"Set to arrive by late winter at 701 12th Street, Tributary Market & Drinkery will be the smaller of Golden’s two new food halls — a 3,000-square-foot space housing eight food and drink stalls. Owned by chef Daniel Asher and restaurateur Josh Dinar, I expect Asher’s planned “micro restaurant” and a cocktail bar to anchor the hall alongside local vendors already secured: Kona Bowls, Woodgrain Bagels, Generous Coffee, and a sandwich shop by the chef of Denver’s Brider. Asher says it "will very much be a hub for Colorado agriculture and growers and makers and artisans and crafters," and his other projects (including River and Woods, an Israeli restaurant in LoHi, and a Turkish food stall at Broadway Market) suggest the kind of culinary perspective he brings." - Josie Sexton

We had breakfast and afternoon snacks here several times and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food for a hotel restaurant. The Birria Quesadilla is fantastic- you can ask for it even if it's not on the menu. Breakfast items were huge and service was friendly.

It's definitely a great add to the Marriott experience. They are all amazing. Starting with the amazing service from Chelsea on the bar and Rene managing behind the scenes. When I am on SAT, it is my pleasure to come after every long day of work. I even tried breakfast, and they do have some great chilaquiles. I will come back again and again..

Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection! We tried the brunch menu and one dish that stood out was the sweet tea bacon. It is thick cut, had a smokey taste, and was really tender. It had a nice big bar that separated the two dining areas. Definitely recommend this place for some delicious eats!

Google
Top notch food and service! We booked a business dinner here with bourbon pairings and education. It was amazing! Big props to the chef and so much credit to Fernando and Katrina, who took care of our group. Fernando even had more bourbon education after Woodford Reserve shared their knowledge. Everything was beautifully prepared and cooked to perfection. If you have an event in San Antonio, this is a great spot to host a large group of clients.

My Partner and I went for Easter Brunch on 3.31.24. I was so excited because it was the 1st time in 14 years that I wasn't hosting or going to a family dinner for Easter. I even made reservations a month and a half early. So the big day arrives and I'm wearing my dress I bought just for this event. It starts out well enough. We are seated at a table for 4. Then a few minutes after we are seated, we ask for a waitress so we can order some drinks. Then a few minutes later they ask us if we can move to a smaller table. Ok... We move because we think that they have some people coming who need that space. There were around 3 tables that seat 4 that were never occupied the whole hour we were there. Not sure what that was about. Then the table we were re seated at had this huge wheel chair taking up the whole side of the table. It was a small table. It didn't belong to anyone that we were aware of. None of the staff mentioned anything. One of the waitresses did say oh, no it can stay there without any further explanation. My Partner asked if it could be removed from the table. The manager and others had a conversation about it while looking over at the table. It was very uncomfortable. My Partner wasn't rude when asking for it to be removed. I guess they thought they were rude because that set the tone for the whole meal. Please correct me if I'm wrong but you are supposed to get a clean plate each time you visit the buffet right? The plates were big and there wasn't room for more than 2 plates at a time. For example, if you have your main course and then are ready for dessert, there's room for another plate. Nobody comes by to pick it up. You have to ask, it was pretty awkward. The tip was already included for the meal so in no way were they going to be cheated out of it. My Partner ordered a drink also and tipped on that. The food was ok and they did their best to keep it stocked. Overall, I'm trying to focus on the positive experience that I had being with my Partner. If we decide to have Easter Brunch somewhere next year, we might try somewhere else.

Google
We went to celebrate my mother's birthday it was disappointing because we thought it was an actual restaurant inside the hotel but it's actually in the lobby for people come in and out and check in and check out the menu section of plates I expected something to eat with fork and knife but it's mostly sandwiches, although the food fills the plate it still seems a little expensive for just sandwiches and fries the chicken tortilla soup was served in a plate shaped bowl more like chili. I made reservations online 3 weeks in advance thinking it was going to be a nice fancy setting

Immediately after check in it was time for lunch. The bar area was lively with lots of movement. Our server was friendly. The Old 18 burger minus the bacon was delish UNTIL a long strand of hair was in my next to last bite🤮. The manager, Russell apologized and asked, “is there anything I can do” 🤔 I’m not sure what the protocol is in this situation? No thank you on another meal. It wasn’t until he said, “This happens in 5 Star restaurants”, that I was even more disgusted. Understanding that these things happen, this was the absolute wrong response. Tributary, are hair nets a thing of the past? Overall, great bar with a good vibe but management could use sensitivity training.

Google
Restaurant in the lobby of the Marriott. A little expensive but amazing service and very delicious food. I'd say generous portions as well. I had a few drinks as well as snack and lunch one day. All good!

Yelp
Ended up eating here twice. One to go at the hotel room. One down in the lobby. It's a nice clean ambiance and look. Waiters and bar top employees are great. Very nice. The burger was pretty darn good. Now I'm a sucker for a in n out 3x3. But this was decent. Good price and the duck fat potatoes were awesome. The quesadilla was decent. Very cheesy and oily but the Birria and sauce was delicious and rich. The second dine experience was even better. Probably because I grabbed the 8 oz filet mignon cooked medium rare. It was near flawless. I've had some great steaks and this was one of the top

Yelp
My Son had an event in San Antonio and everyone pretty much stayed in the same hotel. We arrived late the first day, so I was so grateful to see a small walk in bakery/convenience store and full service restaurant and bar inside the lobby of the San Antonio Marriot Rivercenter Hotel. It was packed the entire weekend we were there! So the big and popular restaurant was Tributary, located right when you walked in the hotel lobby. Since it was late and I hadn't had dinner, I decided to order something and take it up to my room. I decided to go with their Tributary Burger. It's a 2 patty smash burger with all the fixings plus cheese slices and bacon. Of the sides I chose their potatoes fried in duck fat. Oh my gosh, when I picked it up, it smelled so good, lol. I was so exhausted, it didn't even occur to me take a picture, but I posted one, so you can see how yummy it looks! Their burger is SO good, I had one the next night too. After being on my feet all day walking up and down the Riverwalk, then going to my Son's concert, I wasn't going anywhere else, but up to my room. Their burger is THAT good! So are their fries, and you get plenty of fries to share for sure. So if you're ever in downtown SA, stop in and have a meal at Tributary. I'm sure anything you eat there, will be good!

Yelp
I went here during San Japan with a group of 8. We were seated fast, though the food took a while to come out. The barbacoa nachos were able to feed several people and tasted pretty decent. The pepperoni flatbread was good too. It wasn't particularly spicy tho. We ordered for the whole table and it ended up being almost $15/person, not bad.

Yelp
Surprisingly good for a restaurant / bar in a hotel. Went three times (once for breakfast, once for lunch, once for dinner) and it was consistently good. The portions were also generous, and the prices reasonable. Strangely this was the best food I had while I was in San Antonio, which is odd because usually hotel food isn't good. But this hotel is in the middle of a touristy area full of tourist traps with mediocre food.

Yelp
Barbacoa Nachos were huge, and very delicious. David G. Was an amazing server, very personable.

Yelp
Best wings I've ever had! Why? Large juicy fresh as large as my wrist wings. No breading, all wing. Light traditional buffalo sauce. Dusting of chives. House ranch-ish dip. Plenty of celery and carrots. It was a meal. Fast and friendly. I wanted to eat drink and get to bed fast. That happened. Friday during the dinner rush. Good job Alex

Yelp
We decided to eat here after we checked in to the hotel. It was pretty busy but they did get to us relatively quickly. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. We have eaten at other hotel restaurants on the Riverwalk and this definitely would end up on our Top Five List. We had The Wedge Salad, Smoked Chicken, and The Brussel Sprouts. We finished with The Sweet Potato Cheesecake. The service was prompt. The atmosphere is busy and a little noisy. This is expected of a restaurant lounge. The food was very tasty. We are planning on stopping by tomorrow evening again.

Yelp
Breakfast at Tributary was convenient, friendly service (David from Monterrey, MX was such a gentleman!) and solid food. The seasonal fruit bowl was surprising large and delicious. Coffee was good (you can use the 2 drink voucher there if you want). Good place to use up the $25 food & beverage credit.

Yelp
The food was amazing and the portions were huge! Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Food came out a little slow for our lunch hour at conference but we made it back in time. Super comfortable chairs and environment.

Yelp
Was here for an event and decided to grab a bite with a co worker. We split the Brussels sprouts and I got a burger. The Brussels sprouts we way too large a quantity. They could halve that portion and price. But I liked the sweet flavor and the savory blue cheese on it. The burger was as I ordered it. It's like a smash burger- more thin patties versus one large thick patty. It was good. The onion rings were ok. The service is worth mentioning. They were slammed with our event upstairs in the ballroom and hustled the whole time. We were never forgotten.

Yelp
Great food for a hotel! We enjoyed the nachos as a late lunch. Such a big serving! Definitely shareable for 4 people!

Yelp
Great place for food and drinks. We had a large group every evening for several evenings and for the most part, service was good. They were very busy due to two simultaneous conferences going on. The place was packed.

Yelp
Showed up at the restaurant for our reservation for the Easter brunch that they offered in their website. Upon arriving at the restaurant at our reservation time we were informed that the Easter brunch had been cancelled. We drove 1 1/2 hours to a cancelled brunch. We were never informed of the cancellation. Poor way to run a business! Not a dependable restaurant. Never again!

Yelp
We were seated fast, The barbacoa nachos were great to start and menu was good. Amazing food an service.

Yelp
Sat in bar area after checking in. Me and my cousin ordered two beers. The bartender was not friendly at all towards us. Took her time even taking our order I had to wave her down multiple times. She finally comes takes our drink order and when asked to open a tab my cousin gives her his AMEX and the attitude instantly changes. Checked on us multiple times. Energy definitely changed. My other cousin got off his work call came down and sat next to us. He asked if he can put in an order of fries she gives him a hard time says Kitchen doesn't open until 4pm it was literally 3:57. Very weird. We finished our beers and left. We usually go rounds but the nasty service had us get up and explore the downtown area near the river walk.

Yelp
I'm staying at the Marriot Riverwalk in San Antonio and decided to check out the hotel restaurant since the ambience seemed nice. However as a vegetarian/pescatarian the lunch options were very limited especially since any thing fried like the shrimp was also fried with other meat/mushrooms etc. I ended up with the vegan salad which looked pretty but got pretty boring after a while. I'd have liked some different textures, some seeds or even some avocado. While the citrus vinaigrette was nice I basically felt like I was eating a big box of the spring mix. My friend got a chicken sandwich and seemed to enjoy it though! I got the Mexican coffee chocolate cake for dessert which wasn't great, wish I had gotten the bread pudding instead. This was more of a mousse rather than cake and overall was just eh. The service was fast and they seemed busy, love it when they bring the bill before you order dessert tho.

Yelp
This is located inside the Marriott hotel my Fiancé and I stayed at during our long weekend trip to San Antonio. We came here every night of our stay to utilize our two complementary glasses of wine, and dessert. We also came here one night for dinner. Our server Fernando was outstanding. I don't believe we had him the first time due to sitting at the bar, but the next night we sat at a table a little out of the way for a more quiet setting and he sealed the deal to come back every evening. The house red and white wine was very tasty, we tried quite a few desserts and our server recommended his favorite and it did not disappoint. His outgoing and welcoming attitude really made our stay that much more enjoyable and we enjoyed wrapping up our nights here with him. Whether you are staying at the hotel or looking for a place to stop in, I highly recommend passing through.

Yelp
I absolutely enjoyed eating here while on vacation. I had the tequila shrimp and grits which cost $36. Overall, I thought this was a bit overpriced. However, the food was amazing and the customer service was great. Although my waiter was very busy serving multiple tables at the time due to our work event, a lot of the other servers and staff members were able to assist. David our waiter provided excellent customer service, he was very nice, and personable. The food was a 10/10. However, there wasn't many items to choose from as the menu was only one page long. The seating was also comfortable as this restaurant has high tops, low tops, and bar seating available.

Ange G.

Yelp
I got room service, and this is how my short rib lasagna showed up. It was an okay meal, but VERY lacking in appeal. Will not order this again.

Laurie R.

Yelp
So I joined some friends, who were there for happy hour. I just made it (12m). But the waiter didn't show up for quite a while, and I missed the happy hour. The margarita was excellent for happy hour standards. Glasses and dishes were never cleared, and my friends left for our dinner reservation while I waited for my check. I asked about the happy hour pricing and she went to the elevator to take a picture of the happy hour hours to prove to me that she was right. Margarita, good, but I will not be back. Going to Yard House, better service &prices for sure!

Yelp
Nice open area that is trendy. Food is good. Tried salmon, and flautas. Definitely Recommended!

Yelp
Menu is not updated, no fish options. The wait is long and they take about 10 minutes to come and offer you a drink order. The service is not good and not worth the wait. We left before the water was brought to the table.

Yelp
This little restaurant located inside the Marriott hotel in Downtown San Antonio serves up big bold flavored dishes! I was pleasantly surprised with the level of presentation as well as taste of their burger and sweet potatoe fries. They don't offer gluten free buns but will hook you up with a ton of extra lettuce if you ask. The fries were honestly the highlight of the meal for me. They were perfectly crispy and sweet! 10/10 would visit again.
google avatar

Yelp
We decided to try this bar due to the pictures of the wings in the elevator. When we got there and saw the menu the only wings was the buffalo wings. So we went ahead and ordered it . When it came to our disappointment it wasn't anything like the picture we saw . So I asked the waitress and she said she'd only been working there for a couple weeks and has never heard of any other wings . By this time we had already ordered other food as well and was disappointed with the other food as well . The fish and chips was cold . The steak was over cooked. The Brussels sprouts tasted old . So needless to say we were disappointed
google avatar

Klash H.

Yelp
The service was prompt. I always appreciate prompt service. I didn't order a drink. I only had water. I ordered the red fish with the herbes greens. It's like a stew of greens. Some consider it a gumbo due to the Haitian influence. Everything tasted good except the foro. I never had it before but it's similar to rice, thicker and mushy. I just don't like mushy textures. Others may really enjoy it and it's something I have never seen on a another menu outside of Louisiana.
google avatar

Jodi M.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Pleasantly surprised for a hotel restaurant. We ate there almost every night because it was so good. The salt and pepper shrimp is amazing!
google avatar

Kristina D.

Yelp
Great burgers, fries, service and atmosphere! We live across the street at the grand Hyatt and it was so convenient to grab a reservation on open table and walk over for lunch!

Brad H.

Yelp
The room service they offered at this Marriott was less than desirable. $46 Ribeye steak came in a TOGO box with plastic cutlery. Not what I was expecting for the money. It was well done on one side and rare on the other. I guess the average of the two sides did equal a medium but it was almost impossible to cut with the plastic knife provided. The chorizo sausage dip was lukewarm, as was the guacamole dip. The Marriott should clarify how this is served. Definitely not ordering from here again during this conference. You'd be better off getting carryout at the Yardhouse that is next door to this property. Sorry Marriott.

Yelp
The Marriott hotel front desk clerk told us that our free breakfast for Elite members would be at Cafe Bocadillo, a Starbuck like cafe. But, when an employee of Cafe Bocadillo told me that Tributary also serves breakfast to Marriott elite member, I had to investigate. After speaking with managers of both Tributary and the Marriott, I was told that I could partake in the breakfast buffet at Tributary. Partake we did. We would've eaten at the buffet all three days, but, we needed a quick breakfast on two of the three days during our stay. The breakfast buffet had the usual buffet items like scrambled eggs, sausage, fresh fruit and smoked salmon. They had an omelet station where you could order almost any type of egg. They did a great job in replenishing the food. Our empty plates were cleared off our table quickly. It was a good buffet and a better breakfast than I could get at Cafe Bocadillo. Yeah, I'd choose Tributary over Cafe Bocadillo for my free Marriott Elite breakfast every time, if I had the time!

Yelp
Very friendly staff that went above and beyond! Excellent steak! Great pretzel with homemade beer cheese and mustard. Definitely coming back. Fernando and Melinda made our stay excellent!
google avatar

Samantha O.

Yelp
The servers were lovely, and the food is good, but management has SEVERELY understaffed the servers. I waited for 45 minutes before I could even call someone over to ask for the menu. Confused why there would be a total of 2 servers for ~30 tables during lunchtime.

Brett G.

Yelp
Not bad for a hotel restaurant! High prices, that's normal for a downtown hotel restaurant anywhere. You always pay for convenience! The food here is actually good, though! Service was great, too.
google avatar

Brenda C.

Yelp
Nice spot to wind down. The service was fast, we didn't need a reservation. The waitress was on point the entire time. The food was tasty and great portion size. The drinks were also very well prepared.

Michael A.

Yelp
They we a little overwhelmed at the time but the food dod not dissapoint. By far the best fillet I have had in YEARS. Bravo!!!!

Andrea M.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here for Valentine's Day! Unfortunately for us we didn't like the courses so much until the beef tenderloin came and was cooked to perfection!! The potatoes and broccoli served with the tenderloin were terrific as well. The service we received was outstanding and because we weren't huge fans of the courses, the staff worked with us which we GREATLY appreciated!!! The staff was very friendly to us and the drinks are delicious!! Would definitely come back just maybe not on a limited menu. Fernando Reyes is an awesome addition to the team.

I.am.myself H.

Yelp
Our family stayed in Marriott Rivercenter hotel for a 3-day weekend. It was also a convention weekend so it's 45 minutes to even told 2-hour wait everywhere in the area. The last day we decided to eat in the hotel (Tributary) to save us time. It was the best decision ever. EVERY SINGLE DISH we ordered was great. Chip and salsa was real chip and good salsa. Burger had so much flavors and chicken wings were crispy, not greasy, and was seasons perfectly without dripping sauce. Their food was elegant and casual. There are way too many touristy restaurants that offered expensive bad food at Riverwalk. We will definitely come back to Tributary when we visit Riverwalk next time.

JeanMarie H.

Yelp
Had dinner and drinks at the bar. The bar staff, especially Celina and Alex were fabulous.

Harlan W.

Yelp
I'll have to give the breakfast buffet for $25 probably 3 1/2 stars. A bit pricey. There was plenty of friendly staff on hand. Many were walking around looking busy. I'm not really sure what purpose that they were serving? A lot of it's just self service. At the omelette ordering station, that chef finally had to bring out my food. I had given him a gratuity and not the table server. After waiting while it sat slowly getting cold! Let's face it there just isn't any pandemic customer services anymore.
