The 33 Best Restaurants in Providence, Rhode Island - Eater

"Tricycle Ice Cream transforms childhood treats like Push-Up pops, dipped cones, and Choco Tacos into gourmet desserts. Co-owners David Cass and Gio Salvador started their business as a three-wheeled vending cart selling gourmet ice cream sandwiches in flavors like Callebaut chocolate ice cream on salty pretzel cookies and Thai tea ice cream on toasted coconut cookies. After a few years, they expanded their sweet vision into a storefront in 2019, giving Salvador a chance to mastermind even more creative combinations." - Jenna Pelletier

I got the Lady Grey Macaron ice cream sandwich and it was the best sandwich I've ever had. The Earl Grey flavored ice cream with the lemon curd is a really good combination. It is also nice and big and was just all around delicious. I highly recommend!!!!

Pricey and impersonal. Directed to order on a tablet rather than register. Placed order on tablet that had great images of the items. Entered credit card and address I go and paid online. Then was asked if wanted to make an account and said yes only to be asked again for demographics. Rather than just import from the previous screen. Food quality was disappointing from what was pictured on website. Tacos were not filled and had only about 1/2 of the ice cream was missing from the servings from what was in the menu images. Disappointing as well in its appearance and presentation. And the sorbet push pop was full of large air pockets so it was short changing the actually product as well 😔. I had high hopes for the place and it has potential but unfortunately the product did not match the hype of the menu. There are much better options in such a restaurant rich environment as Providence.

Sweet inventive treats!! First time there and will be back!! Got the Dave’s coffee ice cream cookie sandwich and a peanut butter chocolate taco - both tasted like super high-quality ingredients and a perfect marriage of texture and flavor in a creative dessert ❤️ Pro tip: let them thaw for ~15 minutes for maximum enjoyment. (If you can wait that long) Takeaways: ⭐️go back to try more flavors ⭐️crunchy and sweet ⭐️get 1 of each: taco & cookie sandwich

To start, their ice cream and sorbets are the BEST. Such unique flavors and options to choose from! We love their ube sandwich, passion fruit sandwich, Thai tea sandwich and matcha ice cream sandwich. Their calamansi sorbet also is amazing. They also have a cute seating area behind their store. What makes them outstanding: In short, my husband left his wallet at their store by accident one Sunday afternoon. We are from Boston, so when he realized he couldn’t find his work ID, we called around and thankfully, they had his wallet! We drove a bit over an hour to Tricycle to come pick it up. Even though they’re closed on Monday, they kindly let us in and treated us to ice cream sandwiches for our long commute back!!!! Absolutely mind blowing to us, as it was our fault in the first place for leaving my husband’s wallet there. This kindness speaks volumes about what kind of business this is. Such a wonderful Asian-owned local business that should continually be well-supported. This is a MUST VISIT spot in Providence for their flavors, but their service really tops it all off. Sending lots of love to Tricycle!

My kid may have said it best after his first bite of his ice cream taco: “This is almost like Heaven.” For a small place, there is a great variety of flavors of ice cream sandwiches, tacos, drumsticks and more to suit almost every taste—from more typical chocolate-type offerings to matcha, ube, and more. The servings are huge, so bring your appetite or plan to split an order with a friend. Very pleasant service. There is room for about six people to sit inside, and there were picnic tables outside too. We will be back!

I’ve been coming here for almost 5 years. Staff has always been friendly and recommends on how to wait until eating. Very savory flavors, favorites are Strawberry Cone, it’s dipped with white chocolate and has a white chocolate bottom. Second is the fruity pebbles taco, with fruity pebbles ice cream and a Brim on the taco with fruity pebbles. Small area for seating, but this is a treat to take home and enjoy.

Amazing little shop on the corner. It’s super cute inside and reminds me of a high end chocolate shop. The owner is extremely nice and friendly. The ice cream sandwiches and ice cream tacos are to die for!!! They’re super affordable for the size and quality as well.

This place was made for me. I wanted to try so many things which was made obvious by the fact that I got enough for 5 people. My husband and I shared: - Fruity Pebble Taco - Passion Fruit Drumstick - Bananas Foster Blondie Sandwich Everything was fantastic. The passion fruit drumstick was my favorite followed by the bananas foster blondie sandwich. You really can't go wrong though. It seems like it's not really made to be eaten there because they warn you to wait a bit to let it soften before eating it.
