The least expensive Michelin-starred restaurants in Spain

"Led by chef Víctor Martín in the kitchen with Noemí Martínez overseeing the dining room and wine cellar, this Valladolid address serves a 'Como en casa' (Like at home) menu of three hors d'œuvres, two starters, one fish or meat dish, and a dessert or selection of cheeses, with dishes that change with the seasons and a contemporary vision founded on tradition. For a small supplement, the team’s wine-pairing recommendations let you tap into a superb wine cellar. The 'Como en casa' menu costs 40€, excluding drinks (except water), and is available for lunch from Wednesday to Friday." - The MICHELIN Guide

Trigo

"It has always been said that wheat (“trigo” in Spanish) is the gold of Castille, hence its historical importance to the region. The restaurant, located just a few steps from the cathedral, reflects the strong passion that chef Víctor Martín has for his cuisine. Alongside his wife Noemí Martínez, a renowned sommelier who runs the dining room, he focuses on creative and contemporary cooking with strong roots in tradition, and is based on his relationship with small suppliers and their superb local produce and ingredients (vegetables from Tudela de Duero, pigeon from Tierra de Campos, chestnuts from Cacabelos etc). Not forgetting traditional pork products from his native León and the occasional seasonal fish dish. Allow the kitchen to treat you to their flights of fancy, accompanied by a wine from the splendid cellar." - Michelin Inspector

Very complex and creative dinner. We got the largest course menu and everything was fresh and well done. The place is small and cosy on a side street of the city. I felt the bread and dessert was what filled me up, without that I still wouldve been hungry I think. Overall great experience and price.

Visit #2 2025 As with our first time, the cook’s wife was extremely friendly and welcoming, taking the time to explain not just the dishes, but also the stories behind them and the local producers involved. Everything was truly excellent and creative, and we were fully satisfied. The only downside was that it all felt way too rushed — less than a minute between each dish. I’m not sure if they needed to leave early, but the pace was far too fast for us. That said, I would still gladly come back. ⸻ Visit #1 2021 This was, overall, a good experience. We had the set menu at €55. The pastela de paloma and tarteleta de atún were good, but the aperitivos were rather underwhelming, which isn’t the most engaging way to start a dinner. The first main dish didn’t really improve things, but everything changed with the langoustine — from that point on, it was excellent. The staff were very nice, and the service was good. Wine, coffee, and water were reasonably priced, but I found it incredible that bread was charged at €4 per person.

There are three choices in the menu, we chose the middle option, I was expecting a bit more chic dishes to make with local meat and vegetables options, like asparagus which in the season now, maybe not in this option. We all felt the service was a bit rush and pushy, after we expressed it, finally slow down at a pleasant pace. We wanted more bread to eat with the cheese dish, but there is no one to notice us and we tried get someone’s attention, was still not successful, so we finally had the cheese without bread. Must be my expectation too high for a Michelin restaurant. Overall, great richness food, hit all channels! Enjoy a lot anyway ❤️😊

One of two Michelin-starred restaurants in the city. Exceptional quality food and also pretty affordable for a fine dining restaurant. Overall, a fantastic experience for a special occasion.

The luncheon here brought a series of mavelous, refined dishes, accompanied by a selection of excellent wines. Attentive service under the watchful eye of the proprietress. The restaurant has a generous, welcoming atmosphere and a great quality/price ratio. A most highly recommended restaurant for an optimal culinary experience in Valladolid.

The tasting menu is very difficult to praise enough: quality of ingredients, preparation, presentation,... To this, you have to add the wines discovery trip arranged on the fly. True professionals.

Google
was a good moment overall It was a set menu for 55 euro Pastela de Paloma and tarteleta de atun were good but overall aperativos were rather disappointing which is not very engaging for the start of a dinner. The first dish was not really better but it all started with the langoustine and then it was really excellent. Staff is extremely nice and service is good. Even with limited Spanish we come to share on bodega Alberto that we had visited the same day and we had the opportunity to taste the DORADO. It was great !! Thank you for that. Prices are ok for wine, coffee or water but I found just incredible that you have to pay for bread: 4euro per pax. Music was super painful for me

Yelp
One of the best dining experiences I've had in Spain (or the world, for that matter). This small, elegant restaurant is tucked away on a quiet side street in Valladolid. If you were not looking for it, you might pass it by completely. The interior is equally unassuming, with simple, modern (yet comfortable!) decor, a warm palette of golds and browns and gentle ambient lighting. The most dramatic decor element is provided by individually vased tufts of moss placed at the corner of each table. When we were there (around 9:30 PM on a Thursday), the restaurant was nearly empty. In other places this might make for a slightly awkward or isolated dining experience, but at Trigo it felt exclusive and pampering. Trigo's menu evolves with the season and their winter selections were outstanding--from the orange-pumpkin starter to the amazing mushroom and truffle pasta (my favorite course!), to the entrees (I tried the rabbit, which was tender and hearty and not at all gamey), and even the wine (a clean Ribeiro from Galicia). The service was also excellent and very friendly and after our dinner we stayed to chat with the chef and his wife for a few minutes. Dining at Trigo was the highlight of our trip to Valladolid and I am very tempted to return just to experience Trigo one. more. time.
