My wife and I came here yesterday to celebrate an early Father's Day. We made reservations for 5:30 pm. Trillium is located in the Grove Hotel in downtown Boise, on Capitol near Front St. We parked in public parking for $6.
We didn't realize that the restaurant was located in the hotel. It's a nice hotel, and we made a note of it for future reference, in case we wanted to stay downtown sometime.
Turns out that at 5:30 on a Wednesday the place was not busy at all. In fact, in our section there was only one other patron. I liked that we had the place all to ourselves. The ambience is very nice, tables with comfortable chairs, a touch of elegance with a little bit of a retro vibe in the bar area.
Our server, and I neglected to get her name, was very nice, very helpful, and provided excellent service.
My wife had the short rib entree and I had the bison grilled cheese sandwich and fries. All delicious. I hesitate to recommend the lemon New York cheesecake, because we did not taste much lemon, which I love.
We're already discussing coming back to try the fish and chips. I recommend Trillium for the delicious food and excellent service.
