The Best Spots for Afternoon Tea Service Around Nashville | Eater Nashville

"Quaint and cozy downtown Franklin is an excellent setting for afternoon tea, particularly inside Triple Crown Bakery. Located in an adorable bungalow right off Main Street, the bakery offers the ideal option for a quick and more casual afternoon tea. Enjoy a pot of Harney & Sons tea with a butter spritz cookie in beautiful antique china at any time during the day at the very approachable price of $10 for one person, and $18 for two. Add on some of the bakery’s buttery pastries or cakes for an extra special afternoon delight." - Ellen Fort

This place is a must if you’re in Franklin, it’s such a beautiful experience, they have a wide selection of pastries, everything is so delicious and so detailed oriented. All the pastries are freshly made, we tried the almond croissant, the potato quiche, the raspberry thumbprint and the chantilly coffee. Everything was so good, the croissant is big enough for 3 people.

Google
Absolutely beautiful bakery with the largest almond croissants we've ever seen. The place is beautifully decorated, right down to the adorable pink stove in the yard. My husband and I shared a cheesecake brownie, my two favorite sweets in one! I highly recommend!

Google
This was one of the cutest little coffee and dessert shops! The decor was adorable and I love how they kept the charm of the old house. The dessert was very good with a lot to choose from. Definitely recommend!

Google
We did the Afternoon Tea and it was one of the best we’ve had in the area. The scone (the mark of a good tea) was amazing, the other pastries and sandwiches were fresh and delicious. Everything was of course adorable from the plates to the spoons, and service was wonderful.

Google
We stopped by this lovely bakery while walking in downtown Franklin. The pastries were so delicious and the lattes and lemonade were great. We especially liked the decor. It was very whimsical from the curb appeal to every inside wall. It was quaint and comfortable, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at this bakery. Service was great too.

We were there to celebrate motherhood. The retro atmosphere and decor made one feel like they were stepping back into time. The tea service, plates, utensils, tease and teapots and tiers presented sophistication and elegance. We had a pleasant and memorable experience.

Google
The cutest bakery! It has so much character and charm. We got a fabulous cake for a colleague for her retirement. DELICIOUS! Coming back to try the pastries

Google
This place has such delicious treats! Their staff were very helpful in describing what things were and what recommendations they had when I asked. We were very impressed by the tasty treats. We got several things, including the cream cheese brioche, ham and cheese croissant, bacon quiche, strawberry pop-tart, pistachio macaron, lemon poppyseed macaron, along with a coffee and hot chocolate (drinks were okay). They have a small indoor seating area with a handful of tables among tea-room-like decor with pictures of famous weddings and pretty plates on the walls. The tables inside seat 2–4 people at each. They have more seating outside at tables and picnic tables. They say they’re animal friendly. I recommend stopping here! There’s one bathroom inside.

Yelp
I had one of the best carrot cakes I've ever had at Triple Crown Bakery. It was perfection! And such cute presentation. The bakery is adorable and delicious. My husband and his friend had the chocolate chip cookies and they both really enjoyed them. The ladies at the counter were very kind and patient with our indecisiveness haha. This is a great little bakery with lots of charm. We loved the outdoor seating and if we're ever back in Franklin we will definitely stop by!

Yelp
This is the cutest little place with both indoor and outdoor seating. Adorable indoor seating for 2-4 people with a variety of tea time chairs. Various seating outside with heaters on the patio and lovely soft blankets to keep you extra warm. The staff is friendly and welcoming and was so quick to bring out our order too. The pastries are phenomenal. Great flavor and freshness. We had both the muffin and the scone warmed up - highly recommend. Their in house hot cocoa did not disappoint and we loved the little extra valentines touch!

Yelp
Love! As you already know from the pics, this is in a small house. When you walk in, the bakery case is right in front of you. It's a very small space by the door where you wait. Don't be overwhelmed by the line because it moves fast, and it looks worse than it is since the space is so small. We met people in line who had already been there once that day and were back for seconds. They have a variety of things and they cycle through new things throughout the day. They even have several gluten free options and several coffee, tea, or hot chocolate drinks. I opted for the fruit tea, and it was nice. Sweet tea but not too sweat. We also got the s'mores tart, coconut custard cake, double chocolate cookie and an oatmeal cookie. The biscuits looked great. Ugh I regret not getting one. Everything was wonderful. The coconut custard cake was my fav. I didn't care for the whipped cream on top only because I don't like whipped cream. But after ditching that mmmmm the cake was so light and coconutty. It's a 10 for me. The s'mores tart was stellar and served on a graham cracker crust that was chunky and yummy. Both cookies were nice and chewy. If I lived closer, I'd go every day to see what's new.

Yelp
Super cute spot!! So many delicious looking desserts to choose from! Service was friendly, very cute items for sale too.

Yelp
This was the cutest little hidden gem. If you're wanting a quick pastry they have plenty to choose from. And they also have really good hot chocolate and tea selections.

Yelp
Picture this: a cozy little bakery tucked away in Franklin, TN, where the scent of freshly baked pastries wafts out the door. That's how we found this spot--by following our noses and the line of people waiting for their turn to grab some deliciousness. Yes, the wait is real, and yes, the bakery is tiny, but for the right folks, it's 100% worth it. I grabbed the sausage and biscuit scone, which somehow pulled off tasting like biscuits and gravy minus the gravy. Genius, right? And the almond croissant? A flaky, buttery masterpiece that I almost didn't want to share. Almost. Now, the only downside: the wait is long, the space is even smaller than it looks, and seating is a bit of a scavenger hunt since folks linger over their tea and coffee like they're in their living room. But hey, if you're up for a little patience and creativity in finding a spot to enjoy your goodies, this place will reward you with some top-tier treats. Pro tip: go early, bring a to-go plan, and definitely don't skip that croissant.

Yelp
Cute gem that felt very homey upon entering. They have a wide variety of bakery items (both sweet and savory) and answered any questions you have. I enjoyed the hot chocolate (Saturdays and Sundays only) + took cakes to family back home.

Sana J.

Yelp
Very pleasant and nice atmosphere! Great service! Enjoyed the dessert! Very kind and welcoming customer service! :)

Yelp
Darling & delightful & delicious! It's all about the ambience at Triple Crown, and they've got it in spades with mismatched chairs, delicate glassware & an all-around cozy, home-y feel. I ordered the cream cheese brioche; It was overly indulgent it all the best ways. Every bite was like the best part of the cinnamon roll (the center.) On a person note, I used to boycott Triple Crown cause I worked for a competing bakery in Franklin. But I'm ready to wave the white flag and admit: Triple Crown is the sweetest spot on Main St!

Yelp
First of all I wish I would have purchased more! I bought the most absolute amazing pop tart I have ever eaten. It was truly delicious I have to return here before I go back home. I also bought a delicious chocolate chocolate cookie. So my drink was a homemade hot chocolate with homemade whip cream again the best hot chocolate. The lady who brought me my drink was as so sweet, great service. It's a really cute place I sat on the porch outside.

Sarah B.

Yelp
Fantastic service. Biscuits and gravy on the weekends is the best. When they have chicken pot pie it is a must but you have to go early because they sell out. Best bakery in Franklin. Indoor and outdoor seating is limited. Lots of tea options. Seasonally decorated.
google avatar

Monica J.

Yelp
Staff is kind and quick to help. The decor and vibes of the bakery are very well thought out and cute! The baked goods are affordable and great quality. Favorite bakery in Franklin! Only heads up is that the seating is very limited, so plan to come at a non-peak time if possible!

Yelp
First time visitor. Why so long?.... I have no idea. I've heard great things for years but today was the day. They have a great location in a cute house just off Main Street in Downtown Franklin. Parking is "Franklin parking" but if you are good to walk, there are lots of spaces many of them without charge. Staff was very pleasant and efficiently getting customers through the checkout counter. I picked a couple of mini quiche and a couple of muffins to bring home. The quiche were very good, nice flaky crust, good flavor without being overly greasy. We sampled the Tomato/Goat cheese and the bacon. Both are items I would order again. Got the morning glory muffin and it was really good, large and chock full of nuts, raisins and goodness. Pretty filling though so yes, you could split it especially if you are having anything else. Took me a while to get here but I'll be back soon!

Yelp
Wow! We noticed this place while looking for parking. It's so cute we had to stop!! Looks like a cute little tea house. All the desserts looked so good!!! I tried a thumbprint cookie. Very moist and perfectly baked! I also tried the lemon blueberry trifle. Perfection!! Staff was friendly which made it nice since there was a long line to get in.

Yelp
SO CUTE! everything here looked delicious. i tried the chocolate chip cookie and gave it a 6.5/10 because it just wasn't my style of cookie but it was good. my friend gave it an 8/10 the frittata was an 8/10 love it inside. such cute decor and the bathroom is so cute also

Yelp
I ran into this place when I was visiting my parents in Franklin this week and ended up stopping in twice. It's a darling historic home, renovated with a decidedly British accent and perfect for high tea. There's a dining room or you can walk up to the case and take your treats to go. The butterfly tea lemonade was as delicious as it was beautiful. Im a sucker for that purple ombre aesthetic, but it wasn't overly sweet. My niece and I enjoyed it after a walk around the historic Franklin Square. But she and I have a sweet tooth, so we went back for the pastries and cake. She chose the hostess style chocolate cake and went straight to the cream filled center. It was the way you wished those store bought snack cakes taste. I chose the homemade pop-tart and sliced a piece off for the next few days. It was as good the first day as the last. These folks know their pastries. Definitely worth stopping in regularly and a great addition to Historic Franklin.

Yelp
Stopped in again this year and it was so good! Highly recommend all of the fresh baked items! Super cute and the service was friendly! Definitely a must!

Yelp
Everything is wonderful! Have been for afternoon tea and a sweet cookie as well as for lunch and when visiting for bakery items I revert to a child in a candy shop - I want it all!! Had a speciality Bunny Birthday cake made for my granddaughter and it was spectacular. I also had a Yule Log that was beautiful and delicious. I picked up a pair of the moment BD cake and it was yet another perfect product! All in all the work they do is incredible on all Fronts!!

Yelp
A darling bakery with a delicious assortment, located in a quaint historic house in Downtown Franklin. There's a small indoor tearoom perfect for 2 + three tables to accommodate a party of 4 to enjoy the vintage decor. There are several outdoor seating spots too. The tea for 1 or 2 is a delightful presentation & includes a scrumptious little shell-shaped cookie that is the perfect amount of "unsweet" & pairs well with any choice of hot tea. Too many favorites to mention, including some GF flavors.
google avatar

Yelp
the pastries here are UNFORGETTABLE. Like literally so crazy, I'm glad Franklin is a little drive away from me otherwise it'd be dangerous I often I wanna go here. Everything we got was delicious, but the tiramisu was my favorite. Franklin also just had the cutest downtown - very fun to walk around after all those carbs b
google avatar

Rylie L.

Yelp
Pastries here are amazing, iced coffee isn't the best i've had but it does the job! Decor is super funky & fun, indoor and outdoor seating, street parking!
google avatar

Yelp
We stopped in today for the first time and it did not disappoint. We waited in a short line and ordered various desserts and cookies to try. I picked out the Hummingbird, The Dark Chocolate dessert, Tiramisu, flourless chocolate torte, Strawberry Chand Chocolate Chip cookies and Snickerdoodle cookies. They even had Taylor Swift cookies for her Album Release today.
google avatar

Samantha W.

Yelp
The shop inside is cozy and has a wonderful Southern vibe. The staff is very nice and helpful. They have an amazing selection of desserts. They also accommodate gluten-free and I highly recommend their peanut butter chocolate bomb. The brownie I got was really good but had weird patches of salt. The prices are also high but is expected for the area. I do recommend this bakery!

Yelp
Wonderful historical house in downtown Franklin offering luscious bakery treats and some lunch items. Counter service is always friendly and prompt. Grab a pastry and a seat on the front porch and enjoy!

Yelp
We ordered a strawberry shortcake for my wife's birthday. The cake looked good but the cake was dry with tasteless frosting.

Yelp
I want to like this place more than I actually do. It's so charming I wish I could give it five stars, but some of the desserts earned no greater than three stars. However, spectacular customer service and exquisite charm were sufficient to sway me to a four-star conclusion. Situated in a house built in 1915, a bright display of sweet treats welcomes you into a space decorated with antique furniture. It couldn't be any more quintessential Franklin than it is! With tarts and cheesecakes and baked goods of all kinds, the choices are mesmerizing. I started with a mini vanilla cheesecake that had absolutely no discernible flavor. The cake, the cream, and especially the graham cracker crust were completely devoid of any sweetness. As charming as this little shop is, in that moment the rating had already plummeted to three stars. But the cream cheese brioche saved them! With ample amounts of a sweet cream cheese mixture and bits of cinnamon streusel atop the softest brioche bun you've ever tasted, this might be the best item you could order at Triple Crown! While the desserts are hit or miss, the atmosphere and wonderful employees won me over. While not a five-star experience, it's definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
Very cute spot in Franklin! Their croissants are huge and so tasty! The bakery has ample seating and a very cute decor!

April H.

Yelp
Although the shop was cute and the pastries were pretty (looked better than they tasted) the manager was quite rude and seemed rattled by having the shop so busy. The bathroom is down the same hallway they use to bring food out. Which is crowded. As i was waiting for the restroom the manager shouted from the shop down the hall to me "go across the street and use the restroom over there!" I have no idea where she wanted me to go but I was in the middle if eating lunch with my family. It was just so rude and unnecessary. I later emailed to let the owner know and she was just as rude! She said if i was so unhappy she would refund the cost of our lunch. Honestly, thats not what i was after but her attitude made me say, " yes, do that please " She never did........ Not worth the calories or aggravation!

Yelp
If you love all things bakery and being transported to a different place this is your new stop. I love the feel of the space and the baked goods are a bonus

Yelp
This is a cute little bakery in an old house right near Main Street in downtown Franklin. The staff was super helpful and friendly (and patient!), and they have a wide variety of treats. We were buying some Christmas Cookies for friends, and I couldn't resist the Couch Potato Cookie. It looks a little crazy, with chocolate chunks and Reese's bits and pretzels and potato chips, but it was super good! All of their sweets were absolutely beautiful. They also have a small room for sitting to enjoy your treats, as well as a couple of tables out front. Definitely a good spot to take care of your sweet tooth when you're in the downtown area!
google avatar

Yelp
Grateful to have a legit bakery in town. Walked in on the day of my daughter's 13th birthday - a weekday - and they had a good selection of gorgeous cakes ready to go. Added a cute little topper and some candles and it ended up being a really pretty cake! We have also stopped in for pre-made sandwiches for lunch and we got both the chicken and the egg salad. Both were great! Definitely recommend stopping in here for a quick lunch downtown.

Yelp
Went back to their new location and it was a fabulous experience! Love their decor and they have indoor and outdoor seating. Ordered their iced coffee and regular coffee and both were good! Decided to try their cinnamon roll and everything croissant. The cinnamon roll was good, not the best we have had in the area but delicious. The croissant itself was huge and flaky - baked to perfection. The filling was a cream cheese and the croissant had everything seasoning on it. It was oddly delicious - a good savory choice! If you need a pastry warmed, make sure to ask, Their bathroom wallpaper was absolutely adorable. Customer service was great and prices on par with other local bakeries. Great dining experience!

Brad T.

Yelp
Wonderful baked goodies. Wish we could've tried it all. It's very quaint and "British" inside with a nice comfortable sitting area.
google avatar

Yelp
Super delicious pastries, the cinnamon roll was so decadent and the cream cheese frosting was just perfect. The blueberry muffin definitely lacked blueberries but still had a nice flavor.

Yelp
I fell in love with this delightful bakery in the middle of downtown Franklin, TN this weekend. The decorations outside were so creative and fun for the Halloween season (see pictures). Being inside was nostalgic for me, reminding me of the mom and pop bakeries that used to be everywhere when I was a kid. For some reason, it seems like places like these are few and far between these days. The displays were gorgeous inside. I had 0 intentions to on buying anything (because I was stuffed before I walked in), but couldn't leave without the pumpkin cheesecake after I saw it.

Yelp
We finally made it over to TripleCrownBakery in downtown Franklin and everything we tried was soooo good ! Highly recommend taking the trip out there or stopping in if your in the area. We really enjoyed the pastries we ordered, the were so phenomenal we order a few to take home. Sweet little tea shop decor. Service was friendly , girls were patient and nice. Only side note would be thier Red Velvet cake was not a true Red Velvet, just red dyed cake mix still tasty but disappointed . Even though we had a delightful time, I am giving by four stars because sadly, I have to agree that the cake here needs improvement. If you read this management, please consider improving your cake flavors and density ( not thrilled with the syrup soaked cake, was it anticipating a light, but flavorful balanced cake) . We will definitely be returning for Tea Time as well.

Yelp
What an incredible bakery! I've never seen such an aesthetically pleasing and well ordered bakery; especially the display cases! Works of art! Stopped here for breakfast and had such a hard time deciding what to order. Went with the basic scone and it was the best I've ever eaten. Twice the size and density of a bakery I formerly frequented. And the chocolate cookies are excellent. I'd give them 5 stars if the coffee had been good. Surprisingly, they served me a French-roast and it wasn't even their proprietary house brand. I didn't know any of this until after asking for "a coffee." I came back a second time (later date) and asked the young ladies working the counter what kind of coffee they offered. They said: "Only one kind and I think it is medium roast." I said "Please ask" which they did and came back and said "Yes, it is medium roast." Long story short - it was dark roast again. I love good coffee and just can't abide dark roasts such as French and Italian. They taste burnt and hide the quality of the bean. So - as much as I love good coffee, I'll still come here because the pastries are fantastic but I'll know to order hot tea. Baked goods lovers - rejoice! Coffee lovers - order the tea. Also, this is not a cheap breakfast place: 1 coffee, 1 hot tea, 2 small pastries set us back $25 with tax and tip!

Kris R.

Yelp
Unfortunately, our experience at this bakery was quite disappointing. When we arrived with my family, including our baby, we were still walking in the doorway when we were asked to shut the door before we were fully inside. Once we were inside waiting in line, we were told to leave our stroller (which contained our belongings) outside. Just a few minutes later, the staff asked the customers behind us to wait outside, even though they were already inside the door. The overall treatment felt quite rude and unwelcoming, prompting us to leave and go to the bakery next door. It was an unpleasant and unprofessional experience, and we never even got to try the food.

Beth J.

Yelp
drip coffee tasteless and coffee cake stale. Looked so cute but food did not impress. Was hoping it might be a destination breakfast place for a small future event but will keep looking
google avatar

Rene S.

Yelp
We stopped in for a little snack and to check out the bakery. What a cute place! The food is amazing and the setting is darling! We had a few treats and tea... the staff is friendly, helpful and very pleasant. We had the blueberry lemon cake, the pop tart and an oatmeal cookie the food was great! I wish we could have tried more/ but the portions are very large ... next time. I highly recommend trying this little gem! The ambiance is lovely!

Yelp
such a cute spot! got the egg and chicken sandwiches, cookies, chocolate cake and the specialty coffee and everything was amazing. the decor is also very unique and the staff is okay only complaint is they didn't seem like they were paying attention i had to do two transactions because the cashier forgot a couple of items. i had to repeat myself multiple times but the food made up for it. also the owner is very sweet and attentive.

Julia W.

Yelp
Amazing, shabby chic bakery right off the main drag in Franklin. Sat outside and read my book for an hour the other day and it was great! I've been eating the same giant croissant for 3 days! Thanks triple crown!!

Yelp
Wonderful little bakery with yummy desserts .... Very creative! When we have an event I love to pick up an assortment!!

Yelp
All things made from scratch. We Found it! This Bakery, come coffee shop, come tea house, come lunch spot, is the best spot for anyone with a discerning palate. The Food, Staff, & Atmosphere are A#1!! Anne

Yelp
Favorite place to meet a friend and enjoy the fresh made daily pastries! It's the closest thing to Paris France in Franklin!! Great service! Great selection! Love this downtown Franklin bakery!

Lori K.

Yelp
I know I already left a review but life has changed and I must update it immediately. As much as TCB has my heart, I've been required to avoid gluten which meant avoiding them. I went in this morning to pick up some treats for someone else and noticed they have several gluten free options! I tried the gluten free blueberry muffin and OMG! This didn't taste gluten free at all. Normally I can still taste a little bit of oddness with gluten free flour or there have to be multiple flavor profiles to hide that funny taste but this tasted perfect! I had it warmed which might have helped but regardless, it was so much deliciousness! I saw the macaroons are all gluten free and they also had an almond raspberry thumbprint cookie that was gluten free. Will have to try those next time!!

Marie S.

Yelp
My husband and I would typically purchase about $60 worth of pastries when we would stop in here but we have come to realize this place was not worth what we were spending. Customer service has gone downhill drastically in the past year, the quality of ingredients is low and the overall taste of their products is mediocre. The staff used to be very kind and welcoming but the girls currently working the register are condescending, unwelcoming and cannot handle large orders or too many questions from customers without getting flustered and even visibly frustrated. Worse yet though is the quality of their products e.g., their cakes are soaked in simple syrup (gross) and there is something very off about the flavor of their quiches to the point we've had stomach aches from them. The only thing Tripe Crown still have going for them is the adorable ambience of their bakery.

Phillip C.

Yelp
My experience was horrible. I bought a birthday cake from the case over the phone. When it was picked up, they gave us the wrong cake. So, I had to drive all the back to get the right cake. The bag the cake was in had a sticky substance on the bottom, which then got all over my passenger seat. When I'm paying $70 for a cake I expect a much higher level of service.

Jen J.

Yelp
Cute bakery with lots of options. Loved the chocolate on chocolate cake I ordered for a birthday.
