Small hyper-local art museum in a beautiful space—open, bright, & airy—celebrating local talent. If only every small town had one! Surrounded by outdoor art, too, in a quiet, shady, grassy knoll ideal for picnics & romantic chitchat. Free entry, plentiful free parking.

Quiet ambience, spent an hour in a gallery. Other one was closed for arrangement of another exhibition.

Visited this art museum about a year ago. Something to do before we went to the airport and ended our vacation. It was free (donations accepted), and enjoyable to walk around viewing the local art. Some was done very personally with emotion.

I peaceful place to ponder the excellent art and creativity of Northern California artists. Having a room set aside for high schoolers as they display their gifts and talents is awesome and encouraging as we move forward to the next generation.

This was my first time here at the Triton Museum of Art and I was not disappointed. The Bob Nugent and Robert - Jean Ray exhibits on display were incredibly inspiring. The building’s interior felt so sophisticated to pair with the art on display. It was a perfect experience to take in the creativity of those artists. I definitely recommend you visit.

Yelp
I had no idea this place existed until a Yelp search this afternoon for museums. I thought I had been to them all in the broader Bay Area but apparently not. This is a small but mighty and free museum. They have 3 exhibits/sections which were all very impressive and awe inspiring. They have some sculptures in the back which is a nice area as well. The staff were super friendly and chatty. They open the space up to events and I am definitely going to keep that in mind. It would make for a fun and elegant event.

Yelp
This was actually my second time ever at this museum, I came a couple years back when they had a chalk festival. If you ever get the chance to come show up both days so you can see the artist outlines, and when they start everything, and then day two to see the finished product!! This particular day I went with my dad and Brother to check out what new art pieces they had. We spent about an hour walking through and looking at everything. My brother, major in art and could tell us about different types of oil/paint that was used and how it would last over certain decades or fall off and crack ! Lol so I found the history of how well each artist project with withstand the time of life very interesting as well. I will definitely come back when this gallery changes to another theme! It also has a very nice park. I just wish there was a coffee shop or Matcha shop nearby! Hee

Yelp
I attended an event here last night and never knew this museum existed! What a wonderful museum that can fit an event here. The paintings and arts were very interesting. Very spacious. Great venue for any event.

Yelp
Beautiful space definitely worth a visit! Was there recently to support a friend's solo art show, BTW so so so proud of her accomplishments! Her work is there till End of August, go see it!! @ashiartist (Ayesha Samdani). Multiple wings inside, nicely maintained space. Love my first time there and wont be my last. Huge lot outside for parking.

Yelp
The Triton Museum of Art is a place to visit with friends, family, or even a date if you're looking for a fun activity to do. They often support Bay Area artists and although not too big, the environment provides a nice landscape for you to dwell in their art. Some of the art pieces are quite thought provoking. They don't have a lot of hours they open, but I hope in the future they expand their hours. I believe it would be awesome if they opened to see the sunset. It would have been really nice and beautiful to see. There are few people who go here and it is completely free. You'll find that they have book clubs and other activities going on if you want to get more involved with the museum.

Yelp
Feast for the eyes that feeds that need for the artsy-fartsy experience in your soul. Your local museum near Old Town Santa Clara. Quaint is a word often overused in reviews, but it succinctly describes the initial experience when entering the front entrance. I highly recommend becoming a member and attending some of the events surrounding new exhibits. A recent Ferlinghetti exhibit of his paintings was great. (yes, that same Beatnik and wunderkind who started City Lights bookstore in San Francisco). There was even a free flowing poetry reading that was emotional and vibrant. Brought a tear to my eye. This museum is trying to become more contemporary and I hope it continues to develop itself further as a place for art and conversationz

Yelp
Cute, if small, space. The exhibits are always interesting and usually have a local-ness about them. Really nice area, a good respite if you have business at the city complex, and a cool outdoor sculpture garden. They also have a historic house and sometimes classes.

Yelp
I visited Triton Museum of Art on a Sunday afternoon, and the place was pretty much empty, which was cool to have the whole place to ourselves. It is a really small museum, but what's cool is they have rotating exhibits, maybe about 3 at a time, so you could revisit multiple times and explore new artworks. The current exhibits are Lawrence Ferlinghetti: Painter, Poet, and Pacifist, Season II: A Group Exhibition with Chopsticks Alley Art (this included leaf messages for guests to reflect on their own seasonal change, as it is noted that seasons represent change in this exhibition), and Susan Krough: Expression of an Inner Life, which I was most interested and curious about since her pieces intertwine art and psychology, due to her background. The place is small and simple but there is a lot to appreciate. There is also plenty of space outside with several sculptures to explore. They do events here periodically and have a row of studios in the back as well. This is a nice art museum to have near home, and free of cost, with a large parking lot for convenience. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
I just attended an artist's presentation of the works of Hana Lock. Her artwork is so intricate, detailed, and complex it must be seen in person. Whether filled with color, or just black and white, Hana is able to bring up many emotions and feelings as one's eyes drift through the piece, from kittens to monsters, flowers to fish. It is fun to hear an artist's interpretations, techniques, and use of materials. Hana will have another artist's presentation on December 8, 2024 from 1 to 2 PM. She actually took the time to talk with me and is so sincere and modest. I have been going to the Triton for 40 years and it is a fine museum in a beautiful setting and well worth a trip for people of all ages. The Hana Lock exhibit was one of my very most favorites. TY Triton for bringing so many artists to us.

Yelp
This was a very nice activity to get out and go do with your partner. It isn't a huge place but it has a lot to offer. The exhibits were beautiful when we went and they were showing some drawing contest winners from local schools. There were a few pieces of art I would absolutely love to purchase too! Great atmosphere. The girls at the front were very sweet too.

Yelp
The exhibition is always great. They have online classes but I hope they offered workshops for adults

Yelp
I can't explain how amazing is the culture and places that support the art in South Bay Area. The Triton is one of my favorites small galleries.

Yelp
Sunday, 8/21/2021 - Checked out Triton Museum in Santa Clara, Ca. These are beautiful art! I was wowed going from room to room. The people in the museum were very nice and professional. This museum was very clean. It's echo-y, so if you've heels, it's really loud. Lol. The whole area here was so clean and nice. I like this museum. Check it out if you're in the area. A little tip helps them too.

Yelp
I found this place by accident on Yelp, when trying to maximize my time in this area since I hardly come in this direction. Plus a free museum and you can't beat that! I came in the right time with art that I was interested in like MAR 13 - MAY 2 | Pop, Funk, and Just Plain Fun! Because I am a huge fan of Margaret Keane. I saw the movie Big Eyes and was excited to see some of her art up close! The other arts in galleries were all nice and good to see something different that I would normally see in SF museums, Such as Chun-Hui Yu: Poetic Sentiment, Chan Spirit March 13 - June 6, 2021, Theodore Wores which I never heard of before but there's a large collection of his nature landscape from Yosemite and Bay Area locations from the City of Santa Clara's collection, City Views: Selections from the Permanent Collection March 13 - May 2, 2021 I am still trying to figure out what city it's from. There's a nice little garden in back with benches, you can eat your lunch there or read a book. It's a peaceful and relaxing setting. It's really worth a stop by to relax and enjoy the art. It's a small and interesting museum. During Covid time, museum store is closed, but there are friendly greeters by front door to answer any questions you have about the art.

Yelp
I finally made my way into this free museum. They had an interesting assortment of exhibits. I'm not a huge fan of art, but saw several pieces I liked.

Yelp
Was a great experience even though the museum is pretty small. Overall very talented work and great presentation

Yelp
This museum is like a hidden gem in the area, and I'm so glad I was able to see it. It's a very calm and peaceful area, easy and spacious parking, and the actual museum inside was lovely. It's not a huge place, but there's definitely space to walk around and to enjoy each art piece. There were some very interesting ones to see in here. Nice museum to unwind and just take in the artistic atmosphere. I attended a wedding here and it was just wonderful. Excellent job to all the staff and servers who made the wedding a success.

Yelp
I visited the Triton Museum of Art with a colleague as we will be hosting an event later in the year there. I was incredibly impressed with the art, location, staff, and actual venue. The art is unique and colorful; parking is vast and near the venue; location in Santa Clara is convenient; staff are friendly and efficient; and the venue is large and accommodating. I'm excited for the event.

Yelp
Extremely small, free museum of art. It took me around 30 min to finish the entire museum and this is coming from someone who normally reads every single sign. They had I think 3 exhibitions and several paintings that hung in the hallway. I enjoyed my time and liked how quiet it was. Parking was free.

Yelp
I found the Triton Museum of Art after searching Yelp for gardens and museums in the Sunnyvale/Santa Clara area. I'd been in the area for a local art festival and wanted to make the most of my day, having driven down from the East Bay. Triton is free all around, with both admission and parking at no charge. There is a small attached lot and ample street parking. The grounds it's situated on are lovely with a sprawling front lawn and then a back area with tall trees, benches and a modest sculpture garden. On a particularly hot day, it was pleasant to stroll and relax in that area. As for the exhibits, they rotate. I believe they focus on local artists and nearby there were even cottages that comprised small artist studios. I enjoyed what they currently have including Theodore Wores' California series-an interesting display of paintings that depict the South Bay when it was all rolling hills and orchards. The more contemporary exhibit of note is Anthony Riggs-some of which are featured in my photos. It was a unique combination of classical imagery with modern day themes in fantastical layouts and color. These two exhibits run through July and early August, respectively. It's a great museum space and they do host events there-in fact they were prepping for one this past Saturday afternoon. There's even a small coffee bar and gift shop. If you're looking for a short excursion to tack on to other activities in the area, this a well laid out and enjoyable art museum. Donate if you can-they have collection boxes at the entrance with no pressure from the staff. Even a few bucks a person will help keep this local gem open for everyone to enjoy.

Yelp
Pretty nice museum! I had some time to kill before dinner so I came here to explore. Some of the art was really interesting and some was very... Interesting... I enjoyed walking around and admiring nonetheless. It was a slow weekday, but the staff was very helpful and nice. It's a free, but they do accept donations! I took some pictures of some of my favorites below for everyone to admire! :)

Yelp
I really enjoyed this annual Triton Museum of Art Holiday Gift Fair. In part because it was a nice change to come to a fair that was more art focused. Everything felt slightly elevated and it was wonderful to see the abundance of creativity in the room. Favorites of mine were Breeta Toma's seahorse necklace, Green Lion Forge's beautifully repurposed wine bottles, and Michael Foley's gorgeous gothic-inspired portraits. You should definitely head on down, they're open until 6!

Yelp
This museum is not located near the highway but is a good place in the neighborhood. I love the sculpture garden. It also has plenty of parking space. For exhibitions, there are 4 sections and I spent slightly more than an hour to go through all of them. The museum is bright and spacious, and it has a small gift shop. It's free of charge but donation is highly recommended!

Yelp
FREE museum!! It displays art from local people and I think they switch out the art every once in a while. Overall it's very small, and there's a nice park behind the museum. The park is fairly small as well but nice to walk around with your friend or significant other on a cool day. I do give the museum 4/5 stars because the guy at the front desk was RUDE to us. Just because we're teens doesn't mean we're stupid, we just asked if there were any rules, we DID NOT however ask for the attitude. Not many people go inside so if you talk whoever is at the front will hear you since the building is quite echo-y. They have a gift shop--with extremely high prices. Not much more to say about it--it has art, that's about it. Probably won't be revisiting anytime soon.

Yelp
I love art museums- this one in particular is free, and also not very large. I consider this a positive, as it allows the limited number of pieces to shine without the viewer being overwhelmed by different exhibits. Featured artist right now is Holly Van Hart's egg-centric series in the main lobby, along with a smaller collection of Margaret Keane's work, coinciding with the release of the Big Eyes movie by Tim Burton. The two larger remaining rooms are currently showcasing recent competition and exhibition pieces of photography, painting, and mixed media. Lots of variety, some truly stunning works here. In addition to the grounds and gallery, there is a small but diverse gift shop with jewelry, art supplies, and various decor items- pricing is a bit high but quality is also very good. If you see something you like, I'd snag it fast as items here appear to be one of a kind.

Yelp
I saw only local, contemporary artists, each with their own room. That's about 3-4 artists for this small place. Restful atmosphere if a bit vacant feeling, like it's a hidden gem but also you wonder if it's any good... kind of like art itself haha. Good books in the store about cali art.

Yelp
Beautiful museum that I had no idea even existed. We booked this place for our company holiday party and I'm so glad that we made this choice. We were able to comfortably fit 150 people in this spacious venue, and probably could have had another 50-100 if we wanted to. There are three rooms in this museum all with different collections to view. The museum allowed us to turn one of these rooms into a mobile casino room, which are guests enjoyed a lot. We placed a DJ in one of the other rooms and used that as our dance floor. The third room was their Warburton room, full of their higher end paintings so we kept that just as an open space that people could use to walk around and socialize. Their main rotunda had ample room to fit in a lot of seating as well as two bars and our buffet tables. Carmen was a pleasure to work with, and made sure we had all our questions answered and that our event was carried out smoothly. Would highly recommend checking out Triton for your next event!

Yelp
If you have an hour or so to waste while you're in Santa Clara, this is the best place to be. Free admission, plenty of parking. First, take a stroll in the sculpture garden behind the building, then go in and browse though the current exhibition. Then it's time to buy a self service coffee at The Shop and look at pieces made by local artists that are for sale and pick some up as Birthday gifts

Yelp
As far as museums go this is not the best place; however, it is an awesome community area. Many local artists place their art here for everyone to see. Local schools also bring their classrooms here to show off the local art, which is awesome. Coming to this museum makes me realize how much a gen Santa Clara is as a city. We are the brink of industrialization and big business in this city that museums like this remind us of the small community this city once was. Don't' get me wrong. I am all for change and big development in Santa Clara, but visiting places like this remind me of my childhood in Santa Clara and how quant Santa Clara is. Ultimately, I came here to visit an art exhibit my neighbor made, which show cases everyone that lives around her( including me). In the exhibit, all her neighbors are showed in a unique pattern, shape, and texture, which the artist felt embodied their character traits. When I say embody l, I kinda mean it. In fact, each of her creations literally fill in a body shape. Check it out before it gets taken down in late August. Pretty sweet spot.

Yelp
I love FREE art museums. If art is supposed to be seen and enjoyed it should be FREE. I went for the "Landscapes: Rural and Urban Realities" now until 9/30/07. Lots of neat California landscapes painted & some photos. It's a small museum only has 2 big rooms and some on the walls around the inside of the museum. Small museum store. 2 drinking fountains, separate men/women bathrooms. Parking lot in the back, only 3 min. parking spots directly in front. No photos allowed inside, outside I took a bunch. There's a small sculpture garden outside. Visit: 1 (allow 20 min-1hr), I plan to go back for more exhibits. website: http://www.tritonmuseum.org/index.html Hrs: M-W 11-5 Thurs 11-9 Fri-Sun 11-5

Yelp
I love this little museum because: a. the free admission b. the bomb art classes, and c. there's always a contemporary art exhibit on display. When we came, it was the disposable art exhibit. I really enjoyed the variety of work and unusual pieces. There's a small hall where they display teacher work, that's pretty fun to look at as well. The gift shop... well it's just your typical gift shop. But I really like this place.

Yelp
The Triton Museum focuses on exhibitions by regional Bay Area artists and the art of California. It is spacious and well laid out and is available to be rented out for parties ~ the catering tends to be on the excellent side! Fun & educational art programs are offered for children. Annually the AVArtfest holds its art show & sale on the museum grounds ~ sponsored by the Alliance of Visual Artists(AVA), an all-volunteer, nonprofit, organization of artists in the South Bay Area. (Usually first weekend in June) On a philanthropic note, the museum provides bedside and class art education for more than 2,200 patients with long-term illnesses and disabilities at the Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford, and adults and children at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center annually.

Yelp
This is SUCH a hidden gem! Tucked away in Santa Clara surrounded by a beautiful historical park chock full of redwoods. There are three main exhibit halls with art from local artists and highlighting California's grandeur. The museum is nice and quiet on weekdays and an excellent escape... especially since it's free! Plan to bring a picnic lunch for the sculpture garden out back after your visit!
google avatar

Yelp
This small museum is such a gem! Nestled in a quiet neighborhood area and situated across from the city hall. The museum and parking are both free but of course donations are gladly accepted!! There is a small gift shop inside as well with reasonably priced goodies in case you wanna take a souvenir home. :) Since I stopped by on a weekday, there was barely anyone in the museum I felt like I can just soak in all the artwork. The museum is clean and not overly cluttered with exhibits. Seeing such gorgeous artworks by locals, I cant help but feel both pride and inspired. When I first walked in, I was automatically able to see Dorothea Lange's black and white shots along the walls and leading into the rooms. After seeing these photographs, its like I've come to know Dorothea as in meet her in person and learned about her life. Her shots were all so personal. Also currently on display is the ArtsAbled exhibit by artists that do not let physical impairments/disabilities like cerebral palsy stop them from creating beautiful works of art. Stepping into the room which showcased Julie Hughes' Nocturne, I felt that the glittering wall installation was so calming. As I got closer to the exhibit the reflecting light just made me feel warm and I was just reminded why its such a wonderful time to be alive". The last exhibit I came to see was of Cuong Nguyen's which from afar I thought were photos but in fact they were all portrait paintings! I was completely blown away by how he can so aptly portray realism and romanticism. I will definitely come back to see future exhibits. If you find yourself with some time in the afternoons, have a stop by Triton.

Yelp
This is a cute little museum across from Santa Clara City Hall. The place was completely empty when I arrived, but can't complain about free art and free parking which made the experience enjoyable. I highly recommend checking out Ray Ashley's Exhibit! The room had wall to wall paintings to keep your eyes occupied. Just wished the "hanging oranges" were still displayed in the Rotunda.

Yelp
Seriously, what's not to love about a FREE museum that is a venue for local artists to display their work? I'm ashamed to say that I've only stepped into this museum to peruse through the exhibition once so far, but after this experience I am making it a point to try to come during each new exhibition. Although this museum is on the smaller side, they have displayed everything in a way that you get the most out of the experience while giving every piece enough room for you to fully enjoy it without feeling cramped. There is ample parking in the parking lot to the right if you are facing the museum...and once again, it's free! I'd also like to mention that the volunteer staff is absolutely phenomenal. Now on to the exhibit that I went to. In conjunction with the Super Bowl coming to Santa Clara, the Triton has the Gridiron Glory exhibit going on through April 3, 2016. This exhibit is great for everyone, not just football lovers! There are a few interactive exhibits such as molds of the hands and arms of some famous football players that literally let you size them up in comparison to yourself. You can try on some of the protective gear that they wear, and there's even a room where you can try to throw or kick the ball into a target area. Another room holds display after display of jerseys from various teams, and plenty of signed memorabilia, and across the way there's yet another display of famous players' jerseys, television screens playing special moments in football history, and a movie that plays every so often. You can walk through the history of football, from seeing the uniforms and protective gear that was first worn, and see the progression of football to the modern day. This museum, and the Gridiron Glory exhibit, are most definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
Amazing local and free art museum. It looks like the works rotate often and the space is gorgeous. Loved the exhibits and that they host concerts and plays on the premises. Beautiful sculpture garden.

Yelp
This review is for Triton''s outside grounds and park. It's a beautiful little park full of redwoods...in Santa Clara! I find it enchanting. I walk my dogs there. It's grassy, shady and sunny, all that, in a kinda secret spot. The grassy area is large enough to let your dogs run, but there always seems to be a gentleman out there, watching (haha) and he will tell you not to. Fair enough! As you walk across the park you will encounter this beautiful house, built in 1866. It's the Jamison-Brown house, also known as the "London House", so called because many believe this is where Jack London wrote Call of the Wild. You can walk right up the steps and peek in the windows! Back to the park area, I have to mention the abundance of squirrels - who love to play tag with my dogs! They run up and down the redwoods and when they get to the bottom of the tree they stop and taunt my poor pups! I swear they stand there and giggle! It's hilarious - good fun, and a great way to start a day! There are a few sidewalks and benches so it might be a good outing for a senior (with assistance). Also some really nice statues and plaques around describing some of Santa Clara's history, particularly the people who lived on this very property. It's beautiful, and you can just walk around and check it out. When I go it's never crowded - usually 9-10- am and 7 pm or later. It's cool at night too - scary in a fun way 'cause of those redwoods.....

Yelp
There are two reasons I went into the Museum business: the first was a visit when I was 10 to Forry Ackerman's mansion in LA and seeing all the wonderful Science FIction memorabilia he had and the second was walking to the Triton when I was in High School. It's always been a nice little place to come and walk through the sculpture garden and then head inside and check out the rotating exhibits. There've been some really nice exhibitions of local artists that have opened my eyes. A special gallery installation set around a ship theme about 5 years ago had me bringing a bunch of my art-hipster friends down from the City to near universal appreciation. And it's free and the art programs they do for kids are good too.

Yelp
A wonderful, small, museum near Santa Clara University. Unfortunately they were changing out their exhibits when I went a few months back but I still really enjoyed the art in the one room that I went too. A great place to enjoy some free art when you are in the area!

Yelp
Football fans need to check out Gridiron Glory at the Triton. It is the most extensive and comprehensive exhibit ever done on American Football. (thru April 3, 2016) http://www.tritonmuseum.org/exhibitions_gridiron.php

Yelp
I live in Santa Clara and didn't know much about the Triton Museum of Art until last year. My friend told me you can rent the facility out for events/weddings. So my fiance and I decided to check it out (even though we knew we weren't going to pick this place as our site because it was our friend's dream place to get married). There are two options: Triton Museum of Art (holds about 200 ppl) or Jamison Brown House (holds about 50 ppl). I recommend engaged couples who are looking for reception sites to check this place out. The price is affordable. They also have a list of preferred vendors to go through. You can also hold events out on their lawn as well. The Triton Museum of Art is very clean. NO ENTRY FREE. I've checked out their art gallery as well. I was able to meet one of the artists that painted one of the pictures hanging in the gallery.

Yelp
It's small and cute and...FREE!!!!! Right next to Santa Clara's City Hall and other buildings full of history. The museum itself houses three exhibit rooms that contains local artists' work. The galleries change every few months or so. The main room is by far the largest with a high ceiling and plenty of light coming through the windows. The walls are painted a boring cream white but is necessary when displaying art pieces. You don't want the wall to be the center of attention now, if that was the case, then there's something wrong with the picture, lolz. They do have a gift shop with a really nice lady that works there, who is happy to answer any questions you have of the place. She is also very honest. I asked her if it was okay to take pictures for my blog and she admitted that photography is not allowed but people do it anyways so it was okay. I ended up taking pics of the main room to show how spacious it is. =/ She told me that people hold their wedding receptions or after parties here. There is also pamphlets next to the shop that gives not only the information of the museum but also of the other buildings surrounding it.

Yelp
We had the opportunity to rent out the Jamison Brown House for a commercial photo/video shoot that we did for a popular make up artist http://www.stylesbyann.com/. I booked the venue through Amanda (she hooked up a discount since I live in Santa Clara and our business is based in Santa Clara) and she was able to answer all my questions and walk me through the process. We showed up on a Sunday afternoon and Carmen helped us with the venue giving us a quick tour and helping to answer any questions. She was readily available to assist and at the same time almost invisible as she let us do our thing. The house is beautiful and is full of history! There are so many rooms in this home that pictures turned out great! Even with the sun moving as it set, we were able to follow it by moving to different rooms to shoot. Here are some examples of our shoot to give you an idea of what the house looks like: http://www.visiaproductions.com/2011/02/styles-by-ann-hair-makeup-fashion-shoot-nina-cung/

Yelp
We celebrated our lovely ceremony at this beautiful museum. Everyone loved it. Seeing the day in action in this well lit, open space with the greenery and flowers surrounding the building made our modest decorations still exquisite. The staff here are amazing before and during the ceremony. The only moment that threw us off was the night of rehearsal which was the day before our ceremony. We confirmed that date and time of rehearsal only once, and when we arrived with our entourage, the museum was closed. We still rehearsed outside and all worked out. Our suggestion is to confirm twice to make sure everyone is on the same page with rehearsal. Also, if Triton can lend the chairs so we don't have to rent chairs outside of this facility, that would also be great. Overall, the staff, the place and ultimately our ceremony turned out just perfect. We HIGHLY recommend this place. Thank you, Triton staff for allowing couples who don't have the money to spend thousands of dollars to still be granted the right to a gorgeous ceremony! Much appreciated :)

Yelp
This review is for the area behind the museum which has some cool sculptures and is a very peaceful, green, and serene place to hang out. I love that Santa Clara has this hidden spaces to enjoy.

Yelp
Came here in the beginning of May and they were in the midst of rearranging their art pieces so I didn't get to see much. Pretty much just saw 1 rooms worth of art because it was the only thing they had for public viewing. They also had another room that was "open" but there was an art class going on in there so we didn't feel too comfortable going inside and disrupting their class. The only redeeming factor was that it was free admission so I didn't feel as bad that things were missing. But even then I felt like it was a waste of gas getting there for not that much to see. The space, itself, is beautiful however I do agree with other Yelpers that it is much too deep of a contrast to the local art displayed on its walls. It is much more modern and stark than the art within the museum. I may come back when they have everything set up and ready to view but then again I may not. Not sure if I'd wanna risk it again seeing as it is a long drive for me.

Yelp
This review is based on the museum as a wedding venue. When my husband and I first checked out the museum as a potential venue, we immediately liked it because it was clean, modern and had indoor and outdoor space. The Triton has much more character than hotel venues we had checked out and the price was comparable. During the wedding, our guests were very complimentary of the venue, and a dedicated staff person was on hand during the event and she helped ensure everything went smoothly. In the planning stage, Amanda was very helpful and flexible as I contacted her multiple times to request information or make small changes. The only concern was that it seemed sometimes that my emails didn't go through and follow-ups were needed. But everything came together beautifully and I highly recommend the museum as a wedding venue.
