"What seemed like just a couple of hours later, we were back at the table, this time indulging in a dinner of roasted Ontario duck breast at Trius Winery & Restaurant (prix fixe from $66)." - Travel + Leisure Editors

"A Decadent Brunch in Niagara-on-the-Lake Though Trius has an excellent menu for all meals, this is one brunch I will never forget! Trius's "Farmers Market Brunch" created by acclaimed chef Frank Dodd, is all sourced locally; each of the three courses are accompanied by one of their wines. (Basically, any wine pairing with a brunch is my kind of brunch!) The highlights of our brunch were the mains. My dining companion had the hamburger (and it's unlike many you would get in Toronto ). My favourite dish was Marc's Foraged and Wild Mushrooms. It includes: Icewine Smoked Salmon, Everspring Farm Duck Egg, Hillebrand Herb Ricotta House Focaccia Bread and Arugula Salad. It is then served with the Trius Barrel Fermented Chardonnay 2011. I cannot begin to explain the explosion of flavors in this meal - how the gooiness of the egg compliments the sweetness of the salmon and the compliment of the wine with our meal. Our server was jealous! I liked having the option of cheese instead of dessert. All cheeses are Canadian and perfectly complimented from our waiter (who is also a sommelier). With the backdrop of the vineyard and fountain from the patio, Trius is truly the best of the best in Niagara on The Lake. Don't forget to get a tour of the wine cellar, which showcases over 300,000 bottles of sparkling wine ageing. There are also a variety of events at the winery throughout the year such as movie nights in the vineyard. This was one of my top three experiences during the trip."

Had such a lovely experience at Trius Winery Restaurant in NOTL. We started with their sourdough baguette and rosemary crackers served with a delicious trio of dips — everything was so fresh and beautifully presented. For the main, I had the Atlantic halibut filet, and it was cooked to absolute perfection — tender, flavourful, and paired so well with the sides. I also had a glass of their Trius Rosé, which was light, crisp, and just right with the meal. The service was top-notch — friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome. The ambiance was peaceful and elegant, making the whole experience extra special. Definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to!

My partner and I had the best experience at the winery tour. It was more than expected with all of the “Instagram-able” photo-ops, facts, history, and a super close look into the different parts of the winery. Barry was AMAZING and made our tour awesome from the get-go, knowing so many facts, answering tons of questions, & his warm & passionate personality did not go unnoticed. He is definitely an asset for the tours / company!!! I will definitely be recommending the tour to others. 10/10 experience!

Google
Trius Winery Restaurant My Forever Favorite in Niagara Wine Country I’ve been coming to Trius since 2005, and after my 15th visit, I can say this with certainty: I will return until the end of time. There’s something magical about this place. Every visit feels new, the menu is always evolving, yet consistently full of mini culinary wonders. From the first bite to the last sip, Trius never misses. The Food Every dish was a piece of art, bursting with flavor and creativity. The presentation alone deserves a round of applause, but it’s the depth and balance in each bite that keeps me dreaming about my next visit. And yes, I am completely obsessed with their infused red wine butter. I'd come back for that alone (and feel like I got my money’s worth just from that spread!). The Wine Pairing Here’s where Trius truly shines. We had done the Trius Experience Tour earlier, so we already felt like pros when it came to their lineup, but having the team pre-select wine pairings matched to our menu made us experience their wines in a whole new way. It was as if we were drinking them differently—more connected to each dish, more immersed in the moment. When I mentioned during the reservation that we were celebrating our friends’ 25th anniversary, the team surprised us with a complimentary glass of bubbles. It was such a thoughtful touch, and it made our friends feel genuinely special. Service Our server was the embodiment of warmth and professionalism, smiling from start to finish and effortlessly guiding us through the experience like we were longtime friends. The Vibe We ended our final course on the terrace, golden hour light spilling over the vineyard... it was the kind of moment you want to bottle. Absolute joy. Price For the quality, care, and attention to detail, it’s more than fair. In fact, it feels like a luxury experience without the pretension or sticker shock. And now, with their well-deserved Michelin Guide recommendation, Trius is officially on the map, but for those of us who’ve been here since before the accolades, it’s always been a star. Did we buy a few bottles?? You betcha! The brut rosé- no explanation here The Wild Ferment Chardonnay was a favorite, textured, expressive, and beautifully balanced. The Trius Red remains a go-to for its bold yet smooth character. And while the Icewine, from their sister property Wayne Gretzky Estates, leans on the sweet side, we never say no. It’s pure Niagara tradition in a glass and we love it for that.

Very comfortable environment with delicious foods, nice professional staffs. Full of European style dishes that is not easy to find in Toronto. The Ghost Creek Riesling 2021 was surprisingly good. We bought 2 bottles home with the 20% off coupon.

I’m not sure I’ve had a better meal. Excellent service from Patrick and other members of the team. Description of each dish as it was delivered and paired with some of the best Ontario wines. Wish I remembered to take a picture of the smore dessert before it was gone. Delicious!!

We recently hosted a private event in the beautiful Red Barrel Cellar at Trius Winery, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, every member of the team was courteous, efficient, and genuinely warm—making our celebration not only seamless but incredibly enjoyable. A special shoutout goes to Ms. Janice DeSilva-Pearcey, the Hospitality Coordinator, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Her attentiveness, professionalism, and flexibility were exceptional. Janice guided us through every step of the planning process with helpful advice and thoughtful suggestions, making what could have been a stressful experience smooth and worry-free. I wholeheartedly recommend Janice to anyone planning an event at Trius. She is a true gem, and we are so grateful for her support. Thank you, Trius Winery, for an amazing event!

Google
4 Stars for the restaurant and 3 stars for the wine tasting. The restaurant was really nice. Had a three-course dinner with wine pairing. Really like my starter and dessert and had a rly high expectation of my main course but the halibut was unfortunately a lil bit overcooked. Came back the another day for wine tasting, the operation needs more improvement. Was in a huge line and waited for so long. Only one bartender was working. The second bartender came only when there’s only one group left in the line.

Had a great night! The food looked amazing and tasted even better. Comfortable atmosphere and excellent service made the experience even more enjoyable. The Riesling wine was outstanding.

Yelp
We came here before back in 2020 and came back for lunch today since Trius got a Michelin in 2024. For lunch, there is 2 course option for $70 and a 3 course option for $85. For the 3 course, you can choose 1 main, 1 appetizer, 1 dessert or 1 main and 2 appetizers if you like. The server took the time to introduce the dishes and told us what was popular and he recommended. The duck toffee apple was my favorite. The cookie is filled with duck liver pate in the middle with a bit a pistachio surrounding it. It tasted like the apple slices were soaked in ice wines and I absolutely loved it. Smoked salmon was very fresh but the warm waffle on the side was a little disappointing as it's small didn't have any taste. Pork chop is quite thick and meaty and not dry at all which was great.

Jamie A.

Yelp
This is a pretty high end restaurant. The plaza to walk in is nice with the store and an outdoor bar, that wasn't open when we were there, with a lot of nice outdoor space. We all got a flight of wine, which they have several to choose. The wine was ok, none of us liked any enough to buy a bottle. The server that brought out our food had longer curly hair, which we ended up finding in our food and on one of the glasses. This made the experience disappointing. The main waitress was extremely apologetic and brought out a different appetizer and gave the flight for free. The arancini was really tasty with a nice crunch on the outside and cheesy flavor on the inside. The salad could have used something else and may have been because I went light with the dressing and topping. The rhubarb angel food was light and tasty.

Yelp
Love this place - right next to the Wayne Gretzky winery in NOTL. Be sure to grab lunch for a beautiful and imaginative four course dining experience while looking out to the rolling vineyards. Perfect little insta worthy photo spots are everywhere to showcase a girls weekend or a romantic weekend trip. There are many tour opportunities available to learn more about their wine production and history. It's important to grab a reservation ahead of your visit because spots fill up very quickly.

Robin H.

Yelp
Wow! We had the best meal...for appetizers I had the gin cured and smoked Atlantic salmon and my husband had the liver parfait, both outstanding! Flight of wine was a hit too. For mains, maple brined grilled pork chop was perfect as were the scallops. We sat outside with a great view of the vineyard. Excellent service. All in all, one of the best meals we have had. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Trius has a gorgeous property not to be missed. Make sure to book a guided tour of this magnificent winery. When your done you can enjoy some dinner in their onsite restaurant. With speedy service and a smile I received my wine Tastings, I recommend the reds and the incredible ice wine.

Denise H.

Yelp
Beautiful and scenic Winery located in niagra on the lake. There is a restaurant on site to grab a bite to eat.You can book a tour of this magnificent winery. With fast and friendly service I received my wine tasting I enjoyed the reds and my favorite was the ice wine, it was so tasty.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Wonderful winery in the heart of Nola! Very good reds and the icewine is the best in the area. The staff was helpful in picking out a red for a new wine drinker. It's very elegant inside and upscale.

Emily R.

Yelp
We did an impromptu wine tour and Dennis was our guy. What a great guide! He offered all the best photo ops and answered any questions we had. Not to mention the wine we had was great! My favorite was the rose and ice wine while my husband enjoyed the red we tasted In the barrel room. I'm sad I didnt pick this place for my bachelorette trip years ago!

Jen R.

Yelp
This is a owned by the group behind Gretzky Vineyards. It's a big place and plenty to see and lots of people around. Wines are actually pretty good. The parking situation is not bad but it's busy

Yelp
SERVICE: 5 FOOD QUALITY: 5 DRINK QUALITY: 5 ORDER TIME: 5 AESTHETICS: 5 NOISE LEVEL: 4 MENU SELECTION: 3 OVERALL EXPERIENCE: 4.57 We decided to have dinner at one of the wineries while vacationing in the region, and this one had amazing reviews so we made a reservation. When we arrived we were amazed at the beauty of this winery, and pleased with the service of the hostess. The restaurant smelt and looked impeccable. Our table was beautifully, set and in a perfect location to look out at the winery. After sitting we looked at our menu which was very small, and you choose either 2 course or a 3 course option. Naturally I went with a 3 course because the dessert looked absolutely amazing. Everything I ordered was superb, and I loved every bite, but the portions are small so if you're starving make sure to fill your belly before going to this restaurant. I also had a wine flight, and I loved every single wine I ordered. It was so good that I wound up buying a few bottles to take home. The dessert , Nanaimo bar, was probably one of the best desserts I've ever eaten. The pure decadence of this masterpiece dessert had me wanting more. Forewarning, the menu is continually rotating so make sure to look on their website at their menu to make sure you see something you will like before making your reservation. Overall, this place was a pure delight. Their menu is small, but they are able to cook, and prepare those dishes to perfection. The wine is also amazing, and definitely worth getting a flight to taste many of their options. If you're in the area and need a romantic experience this is a great place. If you see the "Nanaimo Bar" on the menu don't miss out on an opportunity to taste a dessert that is out of this world.

Yelp
Excellent ambience and service. High quality food with menu designed by chef with fantastic local ingredients. Spent 2.5 hours in this fabulous place and we are definitely coming back. Service is top notch. Table was ready for us even 15 minutes before our reservation. Waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations. All food was delivered promptly and with care. Squash soup was a bit sweet but still very good. Chicken liver spread with cranberry jelly was a fabulous mix. Salmon was one of the jucieist and best prepared that I had in a while. We skipped the pairing option and opted for their Shiraz, which was a great choice for our menu. We topped it off with an ice wine, picked one that was not too sweet and that went great with the chocolate cookie. Highly recommend to visit them, spend time in their winery and shop, then endulge on a great donning experience!

Ritu D.

Yelp
We came for a group event and had the back outdoor space with live music and a bar. The food was served indoors at various "stations" with wine pairings. They made a separate plate for me with all vegan and gf items. It was so delicious! At the dessert course I was able to have strawberries and candied walnuts but there were cookies, bars, berries and whipped cream, ice wine, etc. Then they brought out sliders so people were eating all night and not drinking on an empty stomach. Staff were wonderful, the indoor seating rooms were lovely and the outdoor tables and chairs were fine. The washrooms were messy and could have been cleaner.

Maria P.

Yelp
We came here in late September 2022. My husband got the blind flight and enjoyed the experience (even though he only got one right ) We shared a meat and cheese board and brought home wine back to NY.

Jason C.

Yelp
Of the three wineries we visited in Niagara this was the middle of the pack. There's some shade on the patio area for your tasting. We opted to not do the tour but the grounds seemed nice enough. The tasting itself was fine, priced around the same as other wineries. Wine is really a matter of taste but I can't say anything here blew our minds. We ordered one of the snacks from the tasting menu, same answer. Service was good enough but not excellent.

MoShai G.

Yelp
Visited Trius Winery for NYE and had such an amazing time. This winery has the best photo ops and guide! We had a small group and was able to truly enjoy the tour. I do wish there was 1-2 more tastings on this tour it would have capped it off great

Nelli T.

Yelp
Trius is a beautiful winery that's right next door to Wayne Gretzky's winery. There is sidewalk access to walk between the two. Since the winery can get busy, we booked a reservation for mid-morning and got a great seat on the patio. We bought a tasting which came with generous pours and bubbles to start. Order the meat and cheese "jar"-cuterie to nibble on as you enjoy the wine!

Alaleh P.

Yelp
Went there for my birthday. We were greeted by one of the friendly staff upon our arrival and were directed to our table after we scanned the CODIV-19 questionnaire QR Code and showed her our mobiles. She asked us to check out when we were leaving. We were provided with a drink and lunch menu and our host welcomed us, congratulated me on my birthday and served us a complimentary Rose. Then we were served with bread and red wine cheese and kitchen snacks. We ordered a bottle of Trius Sauvignon Blanc to share for all of us. We had the option of 2 course lunch (either appetizer and main or main and dessert) for $60 and 3 course lunch for $70. We ordered Salmon for appetizer, Atlantic Salmon and Beverley Creek Farm Lamb Sirloin (medium) for main course and Black Forest Pot for dessert. The food was delicious and perfectly marinated/cooked. It was a wonderful experience and we enjoyed great service, view and ambience. One thing they can improve on the birthday occasions is serving a piece of cake with a candle to the birthday person.

Tanisha B.

Yelp
I went on the trius wine tour and had the best time. The best part was the igloo and ice wine and it is a wonderful place for Instagram photos.

Amy L.

Yelp
Rude staff, poor booking service. There was a mix up with the restaurant bookings that ruined our visit to Niagara.

Valerie T.

Yelp
Had the opportunity to visit this winery back in May 2019 when I visited Toronto. My friend and I had booked a one-day tour to Niagara Falls, so this winery visit was included as one of the final stops of that tour. I don't have much expertise in wines, and we also only spent about 30 minutes here, so I don't have much to comment. However, I normally don't like wine, and I was expecting to not like the wine tasting event. It was my first time having ice wine, and one sip and I was IN LOVE!! I have a huge sweet tooth, and ice wine is on the much sweeter side. Our guide explained all the different ice wines they offered, and I was disappointed to learn that they're not allowed to ship to the US :( I bought two bottles at the airport when coming back... they're expensive and the amount is small, but I liked it a lot!

Michael D.

Yelp
Trius is quite the operation, with a winery, restaurant, store, tasting room, "Brut House" plus a few other nooks and crannies for those looking for photo oops for the Insta. It is a stunning place catering to a various groups from casual to the finest. The restaurant is the epitome of fine, with red velvet chairs oozing decadence. We sat on the lovely patio next to the gurgling fountain and a view of the grounds. From the get go, the staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Our server Anthony knew the wine list in and out and helped direct us to the tastings, as we love to try everything. The wines honestly blew me away, well-made but with depth and character making the wines next level. Starting with the amuse Boucher, the runners were able to describe every bit of each dish in detail, and the presentation went beyond, every piece of each dish meticulously laid out. The flavors did not disappoint. With a set price-fixe menu, you have the option of two or three courses. For the price, we opted to include all three, and glad we did to extend this marvelous experience. Trius is an experience, one that is worth it at every level. We heartily enjoyed every course and the wine tastings that we chose with them. The setting bucolic, the service impeccable, and the flavors beyond satisfying. Don't know when we will return to the area, but it is too on our list when we do, and I will keep an eye out for the wines wherever I am.

Prachi T.

Yelp
We took the tour. nice experience. But the place was very dusty. The deco in the cellar hadn't been cleaned in months/years. A little disappointing considering how much we paid for the tour. Otherwise i liked they had non alcoholic options and we got to keep our drinking glasses. Example of dusty bubbles in attached picture.

Crystal N.

Yelp
Lovely restaurant for dinner! I always like coming here for their three course menu. We started off w a complimentary glass of bubbly since I'm a wine club member, followed w complimentary bread w butter and cute pate cones. For starters I had a gin infused smoked salmon and for mains I had their duck. Their duck is cooked to perfection!! Love it every time. They also had great dessert but by that time we were so full we had to take it home!

Amy B.

Yelp
The most instagrammable winery. Would be great for a bachelorette party. Has a restaurant but it was under renovation when we were there. The staff was so nice. So convenient that it's right next to Gretzky so you can walk to both. I loved the sparkling wine cocktail!

Dennis C.

Yelp
Great environment and great food complemented by great service! What else can I add? A must try if you make a trek to Niagara on the Lake. You should make reservations ahead to avoid waiting. Proper Covid precautions were also followed.

Andrew M.

Yelp
This is as good as it gets folks. The food is superb and the staff paired our wines and were so attentive and nice. Not to leave the wines out. There some of the best wines in the area. Please take someone for the memorable time and great meal.

Don W.

Yelp
We have eaten at Trius several times over a 10+ year period. A meal at Trius is not just a meal, it is an "experience". If you are looking for 2+ hours of relaxed fine dining for lunch or dinner, this is the place for you. If you are looking for something inexpensive and quick, you will want to head elsewhere. For this lunchtime visit, were greeted table-side by our server Walter who introduced himself as our "host" today. He was true to his word. All members of the serving team are clearly well trained in both food and wine. The lunch/dinner menu is limited to either a two or three course lunch or dinner selection from a half dozen options for each course. A wine pairing option is available for each course and those were spot on for our meal. Walter's wine service? From the use of the proper glasses for each wine, to the presentation of the bottle, to the detailed description of each individual wine and its pouring, were all expertly executed. Well done Walter! Each and every food item included in each course was described in detail along with its cooking technique. Everything was delicious! In order to receive the full Trius dining experience, I recommend making a reservation and requesting the large main dining room which has a more formal ambiance and feeling to it. This experience does not come inexpensively but well worth it for an enjoyable time while in Niagara on the Lake. It's what keeps us coming back.

Michael M.

Yelp
Been here a few times now and I've always enjoyed the scenery and wine here. This place sells some pretty decent rosé wine, and I always seem to grab a bottle of it when I visit. They also sell their infamous frosé (rosé wine slushie) in their shop which is super refreshing but a little overpriced at $12 for a small cup. This winery is definitely a beginner friendly winery, and I would say that it's quite catered to the young generation of wine drinkers who love to drink wine and take nice pictures to flex for instagram. For those interested, this place has a ton of instagram-worthy spots - plant walls, stacked wine barrels, clean walls, open space, a entire rose wall (I believe this is reservation only), and an entire pink room complete with an indoor swing and other props (I believe this is also reservation only). This place is definitely popular for bachelorette parties.

Margot B.

Yelp
Hot day in Niagara-on-the-Lake but what a refreshing tour we experienced at Trius! The winery is associated with Wayne Gretzky (same properties that are connected) so there was something for everyone ! The wines were not too sweet and their Rose was our favorite !

Alex M.

Yelp
Best food I have ever had. Service and wine was amazing. Had a gluten allergy in the group but the server was more than accommodating to the allergy. She was very Knowledgeable of the menu and the wine parings. If you enjoy food that excites your taste buds to a whole new level this is the best place around. Compliments the the chef and the whole staff.

Cyndie C.

Yelp
This is a beautiful property. We visited on a very busy Friday afternoon, and I felt like the service was very impersonal. Our server gave us a memorized speech and didn't spend any more time with us than necessary. The wine was okay, but did not stand out among the wineries we visited. The fries the guy at the table next to us was eating looked phenomenal though - will remember that and maybe order some in the future!

Sophia K.

Yelp
Wine tasting and cheese at Trius was not good. The server was trying to up sell us some wine package and all we were looking for was just a place for tasting. Tasting wine was not good, I actually ordered all whites which were not even cold. We also ordered a cheese platter to share and as you can see it was tiny, didn't come with a plate, forks, knifes.. very unprofessional. Overall an unfortunate experience.

Jim R.

Yelp
We've visited NOTL for 20-something years and the food scene has always been underwhelming for us. But that was before we tried Trius. We always make it a point to stop here for wine tastings, but have never thought of dining at the restaurant. We ate here last weekend and the experience was fantastic. From the tomato soup shooters and sesame/goat cheese waffle cone starters to the duck sampler appetizer...all the way to the halibut entree...everything was incredible. The inside dining area is beautiful, but we sat on the patio next to the fountains and overlooking the vineyard. It was idyllic. The service was too-notch. Our waitress was fun and helped us through the menu and the servers explained each food item that was delivered to our table. My only (minor) quibble was that it was very pricey for the portion sizes. But it was on par with other winery restaurants in the region, and the experience was much better. We will definitely go back.

Sapna K.

Yelp
I came here for my birthday a few weeks ago with my boyfriend and experienced both the wine tour as well as the restaurant. The wine tour was great, we both really enjoyed, however the food at the restaurant was a bit of a let down. The winery was beautiful, and the rooms that we toured were absolutely adorable; great for taking pictures! I also think we were lucky and nobody else had booked a tour during our time slot, so we essentially had a private tour! Our tour guide was super friendly and fun as well, and made it an overall very cool experience. When we got to the restaurant, we were served complimentary champagne for my birthday which was very nice. For food, we started with the baked baguette and red wine butter, which was okay. We were also served the kitchen snacks with included this crispy fried dumpling stuffed with lamb, and salmon crudités. I enjoyed the dumplings, but the salmon crudités tasted quite fishy and not fresh at all, served on an almost soggy piece of flatbread. Next came the butternut squash soup that was topped with goat cheese and candied walnuts. In all honestly, it was a little too sweet and sugary for my taste. For the main, I ordered the lamb sirloin which was served with seasonal vegetables, mashed potatoes, and a little lamb pot pie. I wasn't really a huge fan of the lamb, it was a little fatty for my taste and not super flavorful. I did however love the lamb pot pie, but it was so small, there wasn't really much of it to enjoy. My boyfriend ordered the duck breast for his main, and also felt it was on the fattier side and tasted a little bland. Additionally all the portions of food were super small, and overall I just wasn't a huge fan of the meal. I'd come back here for the wine tour, but probably skip out on the restaurant next time!

Meera K.

Yelp
Beautiful venue and patio for dining! Did the fixed menu which was slightly over priced for the food and not a lot of strong vegetation options however still delicious and enjoyed the vibe. Would recommend for a fancy evening with friends or loved ones! The burrata was quite creamy and different than expected but very yummy topped with local peas that were AMAZING!! I could eat a bowl of the peas alone. The scallops were cooked very well and tasted very fresh! Will be back for more wine, vibes and yummy food

Yelp
My family visited the Niagara region during the Easter long weekend and we happened to stumble across Trius on Yelp when we were looking for a place for lunch. We were impressed by the high reviews so we decided to give it a try. The area that the estate occupies was absolutely gorgeous. They had multiple venues for different purposes, such as hotel space, conference hall, dining room, and wine tasting store. We went to the dinner room first because we were pretty hungry. Unfortunately, it turned out that since we arrived at 3pm it was past their lunch hours, so they only had an appetizer menu for us. We decided to go with the Heroes Platter because on paper it looked like it had the most food, and was also the most expensive option at $38. When they food arrived we realized they weren't kidding when they meant appetizer size. The platter was a sample of various cured meats and cheeses, each in small quantity, probably good for only 2 persons maximum. However, they did provide unlimited bread so at least we weren't still starving when we left the dining hall. We then went to the wine store because my family really liked the glass of wine at lunch. After talking with the bartender who facilitates the wine tasting, we realized that we got to taste 3 wines for $8 (including the most expensive $90 ice wine!) and the amount is refunded if we end up buying a wine worth at least $25. That was a pretty sweet deal! The wine tasting was really popular and the bartender tried his best to serve us the wines and gave a little detail about how it was made. We ended up grabbing 2 bottles home. Overall, I think it was a pretty good experience. The decor at the entire space was amazing. The food was kinda meh and definitely overpriced, but that's what you should be expecting at a high end restaurant I guess. I did really enjoy the wine tasting experience though and they had wines catered for all price points.

Janet T.

Yelp
My fiancé and I had the BEST experience at Trius. We were celebrating our first time seeing each other again after being apart for one year with the border closure. Our waitress acknowledged this and brought out complimentary champagne for us. Our waitress was so wonderful explaining the different wine pairings with our meals. We ordered the 3 course meal and it was absolutely delicious!!! Everything was presented so well, so refined and prior to serving our dishes they would explain what each dish was. We absolutely loved our experience and highly recommend this place. We cannot wait to go back!

Cher A.

Yelp
I had a really good experience at Trius Winery and Restaurant. Before we sat down, we asked the employees if they could accommodate someone who is both gluten and lactose intolerant. To my surprise, they told us everything on the Fabulicious menu could be made lactose and gluten free. I was really impressed, so we decided to dine at Trius. The waitress was really efficient and continuously refilled our water glasses and was very hospitable. After ordering our three courses, our waitress brought us two loaves of bread (one was gluten free and one was traditional bread for the table). The gluten free bread was the best gluten free bread I have ever had at a restaurant. In fact, it was so good the waitress brought me a second mini loaf to enjoy. After enjoying our bread, we were brought ice wine popsicles to cleanse our pallets before the meal. These mini pink popsicles were absolutely amazing! They tasted delicious and the element of surprise added to our enjoyment of our dining experience. The Appetizers: My friend and I both chose the butternut squash soup to begin our meals. The soup tasted really good and I'm glad I ordered it. Main Courses: For our main courses, my friend and I both ordered the Fish and Chips with a slight variation. The waitress told us the breaded fish could be made gluten free but I opted for the grilled fish option and my friend chose the breaded fish option. The grilled fish was really good and arrived with heavenly gluten free fries. The fries were delicious! It's still always a treat when I can eat fries at a restaurant, so I was quite excited. My friend really enjoyed her battered fish. She said the texture was really good and it looked much prettier than my fish on the plate. Dessert: For dessert we both ordered the apple pie. Mine was a quinoa gluten free apple crumble, which was the best dessert I had in months. It was full of flavour and exquisite. I loved the crunchy topping and juicy apple filling. It was the perfect way to end the meal. My friend ordered the traditional apple pie and she really liked her dessert as well. Hers came with yummy ice cream, which I wasn't fortunate enough to enjoy. If I could make a suggestion to the restaurant it would be to have a dairy free ice cream in their kitchen as well. All over, I would return to this location for another meal. The price was a bit high per person but it was worth it.

Yelp
This was one of our favorite wineries. Good wine, good ambiance, services was OK other than waiting a while to be seated when it was early and a ton of open spots. Only thing we did not like was the price. Very pricey for just 3 sample wines.

Yelp
Atmosphere is cold. We walked in and wanted to enjoy a glass of wine outside but we weren't allowed to use the outdoor bistro area as we didn't want to order food. When we went to the winery gift shop it didn't feel like a place we wanted to have wine. We decided to at least buy a bottle and stood at the bar so we could ask a couple of questions before selecting a bottle. Nobody came over to help although there were people working. We still selected a bottle on our own and walked to check out. Even there the service was strange no questions as to how we found everything, no personality about how we are enjoying our trip, etc. it felt that we were not appreciated as customers.

Yelp
Second time coming here and the food does not disappoint! The service is always great - very friendly and attentive staff. I had the beef rib eye and Icewine Niagara peach tart for dessert. The rib eye was cooked perfectly and paired with the right amount of well seasoned vegetables. The blueberry cheesecake was really good - the toasted marshmallow and lemon curd were delicious! I also had a bite of my husbands desserts which was the blueberry cheesecake bars and they were a bit too sweet for me but my husband enjoyed it. Highly recommended - great ambiance, great views and delicious wine and food!

Yelp
Trius Winery and Restaurant is located on the south side of Niagara Stone Road just east of Concession Road 6 slightly south west of Virgil. Trius Winery and Restaurant has a pretty decently sized parking lot but because of the popularity of this place it was almost full when we arrived. There's a store and other several buildings leading up to the main "street" where most of their structures appear along with an outdoor patio to the left serving drinks and small plates like pizza. We didn't spend too much time here but we did come to have a drink before heading out and about in the Niagara on the Lake area for the day. The patio has a seating area but there's no table service. It's basically order at the bar and they take the orders to your table. I just got a round of drinks for us (2 glasses of Riesling, a rose and a frose (frozen rose). The area was sort of busy but it was a seat yourself kind of place so some tables were more comfortable and had shade while some with the metallic looking plastic chairs in the middle weren't necessarily covered and were sunny. With so many wineries in the area, I liked Trius' more traditional look with making multiple buildings and what appears to be a street as opposed to some of the more modern supercomplexes.

Yelp
The rose frose is a must! Especially on a nice sunny day, this is a tasty boozy refresher!

Yelp
Came here randomly with 2 friends for a fancy dinner experience. We were totally impressed and everything was well worth the big price tag. We did it asian styles and shared everything : a 5 course dinner, a share platter, and two mains, and a bottle of red. Everything was so good. We ended paying about $110 per person including tip and tax. Would def come back here to indulge again. Great ambiance, great service, decadent food.

Yelp
I am not a wine drinker. But the explanation of the how to drink iced wine and how it is made was enlightening. Our guide helped us to appreciate that you drink it by placing it under your tongue, let it rest for 5 seconds, and the swallow. Rather than allowing it to touch your tongue. The taste is certainly different.

Yelp
Very nice winery in the countryside. Staff was friendly! We only tried the Rose slushy because we were so hot on July 4th. Would recommend.

Yelp
This is one of my all time most favourite restaurants, not only because of the food, but also because of the wonderful ambiance, as well as the amazing service. My sister and I ordered the sharing Soy and Ginger Marinated Flank Steak bowl and my parents, the sharing Trius Hero's Plate and they were both delicious! They were super fresh and you could really taste the quality of ingredients! Afterwards, we took a lovely stroll through the vineyard towards the Wayne Estates which was a very nice experience. All in all, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area- you definitely won't regret it!

Yelp
My review is for both winery and restaurant. Winery: Very beautiful winery and the grounds are well kept! The design is more modern compared to other wineries in the area which is great for taking pictures Restaurant: The service was great! The food however was not the best. They are trying to be innovative and fancy but the dishes just don't work (at least for me). The portions are TINY! For example the steak was about 4 Ounces which is IMO more of an appetizer than a main. Generally not a good sign if you're leaving the restaurant hungry after paying $100/plate... The verdict: definitely worth visiting but skip the restaurant :)

Yelp
Service was good, however the mix of ingredients just didn't work, creating strange flavours.
