Went here yesterday. Delightful. Beautiful setting. Sat outside on a gorgeous fall day. Very knowledgeable and friendly server. Took excellent care of us and our dog. Some very good wines. Recommended.

I once was a member of troon since they opened up. And two years ago I dropped them they've gone through too many personnel their winemakers have changed too often and the wines have gone downhill and the prices have gone up. Here's a time when troon was doing really good and I enjoyed their wines I can remember the the Zen's, the deep red druid fluid when it was better. the fire and smoke was fantastic. Now they make wines for the younglings stuff that needs to be drank within one or two maybe three years. They have a beautiful area great for picnics hanging out and enjoying wine but they're wines are not what they used to be. Sending a photo of a wine when troon was blooming.

Our first experience here was lovely. Despite being busy and unfortunately short staffed, our server was so attentive and educated us wonderfully. We chose the wine tasting and she let us try a few extras, which helped with our decision on what bottles to purchase. The views are outstanding, the outdoor seating area is adorable and they even have a heated porch. We will be back!

Google
Gorgeous place and amazing wine. The guide advised the winemaker doesn't disclose certain notes of flavors but also makes sense since each person's palette is different. But I do like to know what I'm enjoying. Service is just fantastic and nothing beats the view

Stephanie Raygoza

Google
What a great place with a wonderful team there to help you have a memorable experience. We had a wonderful host who was so warm and welcoming. She went above and beyond and we'd love to go visit again.

I have been a member at Troon for longer than I can remember. Over all the years, owners have changed hands, staff has come and gone, and many changes have taken place. Through it all, the quality and service has been unwavering. Hands down, I will always bring my Friends and Family for the Troon experience. I grew up in the Applegate and have patronized most if not all of the vinyards, and the Troon experience can't be beat. Thank you for always making us feel like family, and for making my family feel the vibe too.

Michael is great, knowledgeable about wine and very informative. Troon winery is beautiful and Micheal enhances your stay every time. Haven’t had a wine I don’t like here!

Google
Delicious wine, beer, and cider plus a friendly and knowledgeable staff! The view from the tasting room proves there is never poor weather in Southern Oregon. We learned that the vineyard has a biodynamic scientist on staff to ensure the different grape varieties are grown in soil best suited for them- talk about devotion to your craft!!

Gabrielle S.

Yelp
Mike gave us an amazing experience! He made every aspect of our tasting exceptional- from being well versed on both the wine making process and the tasting profiles of all the wines to lovely conversation. The heated patio was a lovely option for a rainy southern Oregon winter day. We had a lovely time and will definitely be back with family and friends.

Danielle K.

Yelp
Beautiful location, friendly staff, and meaningful wine making. Being Oregon's only Demeter Biodynamic and Regenerative Organic Certified winery and farm, we definitely had to make the visit to Troon. We chose to sit outside at a shaded table amongst the flowers and butterflies. We explored the farm stand and played some lawn games before diving into our tasting flight. Troon's wines are unique and minimalist, using only native yeast and no additives during the fermentation process. Learning about how they implement biodynamics in their farming and wine making process was fascinating and you can appreciate the effort in each varietal. I only wish it wasn't so burning hot the day we visited because I would have loved to walk around more of the property.

Marjorie W.

Yelp
It's tough competition nearby, as if you only have time for one winery in the area, we'd give the edge to Wooldridge (largely for the food). But they work great as a double dip! Troon's relative strength is its big and pretty grounds to walk around. Like its neighbor, it offers beautiful views from shading seating areas, great service and great wine.

Yelp
Great wines in the Beautiful Applegate & Rogue River Valley in Southern Oregon. The service was outstanding only about 25 miles from Medford. They have been awarded many awards for their winery. I want to thank the winery for the two (2) free J-1772 Charge Point electric car chargers for patrons to use. They also have two Bocce Courts and is family friendly offering a play area for children. Pets on a leash are allowed.

Jesse M.

Yelp
The wine is good and the location is great. The valley is beautiful, especially at night. We went to the tasting room with no appointment and the service was excellent.

Mitchell A.

Yelp
First and foremost: Oliver made this review worth writing. Kind and prompt, Oliver is an expert in the subject, and possesses an unmatched hospitality. The world needs more Oliver. 10/10. The wine is some of the best *ive* ever had. Full of depth and dimension, it really helped to know what made the different elements pop in each drink. The atmosphere is beautiful, and the region is magical- even despite the smoke from the wildfires. Troon is easy to recommend for wine connoisseurs and normies alike!

Christina R.

Yelp
This is a must do activity if you're on an Applegate wine outing. The grounds are gorgeous with a lot striking views in the background. It is an actual working farm so there's a bustle of activity, which I truly enjoyed watching. If you've never had natural wines, you may think the wine is a bit odd but I find that funky quality of them adds to the interest. I think that Troon does an amazing job at what they do. We had made reservations online so we got to sit on the patio but we were also given the option to sit out in the garden. Each little area to sit is cute in it's own right and there was literally no bad place. Our server was great. She knew a lot and paced our tasting very well. I almost bought too many bottles to fit into the car but that's ok, it gives me a reason to come back again.

Polly S.

Yelp
Great service. Split a tasting and then enjoyed glasses of wine while walking around the grounds

Christine I.

Yelp
Yet another lovely trip to Troon. Troon is always our first stop when in Oregon wine country. I have never had or even seen the same servers twice and have always had an intimate and personalized experience. Troon clearly picks their staff as carefully as their grapes. Nate took care of us this Christmas Eve and made us feel like old friends, despite having other tables to take care of and being on his own. He made some excellent wine suggestions and was incredibly personable. Troon truly sets the bar, in wine and welcome.

Nicole S.

Yelp
If I could give more stars I would. Every wine I've tasted here during multiple days out have been amazing. I did a mixed flight today and each wine was better than the previous. I've been coming here since before they were named a top winery in the country and Troon never disappoints.

Tracy D.

Yelp
A biodynamic winery, great value, and their wine is delightful!?!!? What?!? ALL true!!! Their grounds are serene and inviting! They have friendly and knowledgeable staff. Strongly suggest trying their Garrigue Syrah, Zinfandel, Siskiyou Syrah, and their white blend. Please note: you can buy food here, but not plated. You buy the entire package (crackers, salami, or cheese curds) or bottles (mustard or jam), and they provide the plates and knives for cutting and serving.

Chris S.

Yelp
Very good friendly and knowledgeable service. Excellent wine choices. Easy seating. Dog friendly. Very nice place to spend an afternoon.

Yuli L.

Yelp
This is the second winery we stopped at during our winery drive. It was very close to Wooldridge, just down the street. Once you enter the driveway, you'll see the Spanish inspired villa, which is their main tasting room. The staff was very friendly, and they changed the sampling for us because we like whites better than reds. So instead of doing 1 white, 1 rose and 3 red, we got 4 whites and 1 Rose. The whites were light in flavor, but were "smokier" here. My boyfriend described them as "blue cheese like". Troon is known for their red wines, especially their Malbec. We tried a small sample of it, and it was pretty good. We walked around the vineyard and it's quite nice. We notice it is at a lower elevation than Wooldridge, so your Mountain View isn't as uninterrupted. However, the vineyard had a large backyard with fun amenities like a giant chessboard, Jenga and etc.

Leanh E.

Yelp
I really loved the location and outside area of the winery. It is truly beautiful. I wanted to really like the wine, because I believe in trying to develop sustainable ways to farm and promote organic processes. It is interesting how they use cow manure in horns to grow the wine. However, I did not care for the wine. The wine seemed cloudy and just ok too me. I will make one exception, and that is that I did not taste many of the reds, and maybe that is where their strong points were. I am no sommelier, so what one person might not like another person may think to so fabulous.

Leslie S.

Yelp
Wine was very good. Great service. Angie, AKA Mick (), was extremely knowledgeable about the wines and very friendly & attentive.

Matt L.

Yelp
Very pretty, knowledgeable staff but wine is just well, not great. We enjoyed the visit, since we miss being close to Paso and Napa, but hey, the wine is not good. One of the whites was good but was upward of $30 a bottle... And tastings are on the higher end as well at $20, perhaps the reason we were the only ones there when other places were crowded. Most places are $5 or $10. Overall enjoyed the visit, but hoping there is better wine to be found in So, Oregon.

Jessica W.

Yelp
I really enjoyed Troon! It is one of the handful or organic and biodynamic wineries in the area. They specialize in unique European style varietals. The staff was very knowledgeable about the wine and wine making in general. I throughly enjoyed the wine and tasting experience at Troon!

Mary U.

Yelp
Everything we tried was unique and lovely and went beyond the flight to order additional pours just to experience more. This is an amazing winery with terrific wines that will make "terroir" absolutely transparent for you. Just go!! Super knowledgeable staff who spend time explaining the unique qualities of each wine. Terrific experience and we will be back!

Dean Z.

Yelp
Bree was one of the best servers I have ever experienced when winetasting. She was very knowledgeable about the wines and the bio dynamic process. The white wines were very unusual and interesting. Red wines are real solid. We had a lovely tasting underneath the trees overlooking the valley.

Cyndie C.

Yelp
HH says that visiting Troon was a delightful learning experience. They were doing tastings in a gorgeous outdoor garden due to COVID precautions. The day we were there was beautiful and because it was not crowded we were able to have our choice of tables. Our hostess was very knowledgeable of all the various wines (I suspect she was family as she said she'd been working there for 16 years and she was pushing 30!) She introduced us to several varietals that we'd never before encountered -- Piquette, which is a very dry sparkling wine, and a Kubli Bench Amber which is slightly orange in color - something we've never experienced before. So glad we gave this place a try! Would definitely return if the opportunity presented itself.

Julie D.

Yelp
Beautiful property. Indoor and outdoor tastings. We liked their whites more than the reds. Very pleasant staff. Definitely worth the stop!

Juston G.

Yelp
Beautiful scenery, amazing staff, and always a pleasure to come and enjoy the wonderful wines. On Sundays they have live music and bocce ball as well as an awesome lawn to enjoy some relax time. Only suggestion I have is to maybe have a tour option to know the winery more intimately. Come check it out!

Uli B.

Yelp
We recently visited our friends who live in Grants Pass, Oregon. When they told us that we should go and visit wineries in nearby Applegate Valley, we looked at them with a kind smile that meant to portray: "We live near Napa & Sonoma Valley, do you really think your vineyards can reach our expectations?" Yet when we actually started our tour, we quickly realized that Applegate Valley will probably soon be a common wine reference as are the wine regions at home After a great lunch at 'Peace of Pizza', we spent a lovely afternoon in the garden of Troon Vineyards. Seriously, it was perfect: we spread out on the lawn: the adults, the kids and our dog. The kids played bocci ball and/or explored the garden, while the adults exchanged stories over a bottle of Druid's Fluid. Admittedly, I'm by no means a wine expert, but that bottle was great and reasonably priced. This visit will always be very memorable to me...if I see a bottle of their wines in the supermarket I will likely get one to relive that sunny afternoon in wonderful Applegate Valley...

S S.

Yelp
Wow! I have to say that Troon is one if my top picks for wine coming out of Oregon. I finally got to spend time at their tasting room in the Applegate Valley. Their outside seating is beautiful with a wonderful view. They're also dog friendly. Topanga guided me along and she was a huge help! It was only her second week and I was impressed with her knowledge as well as enthusiasm. Since I'm in Portland, I am really excited to check out their new tasting room in McMinville which will be much closer to home.

Donna S.

Yelp
Had a delightful visit at Troon today. Our "wine-ista", Angie, was charming and informative. We could not have asked for a better tasting experience! And the wine was good too!

Jen R.

Yelp
This place. Makes me want to move closer to go there all the time. Lovely grounds, free breadsticks during tasting and water in glass cups rather than plastic. The wine is simply put.. delicious. Grapes that are blessed by bagpipes and oak barreled rather than stainless steel is bound to taste good. But the fact that is still hand pressed to this day is such a lovely change of pace for a winery. Staff was super knowledgeable and kind. Music playing on the grounds, plenty of seating areas and a giant Jenga game make sitting outside lovely. Try the orange wine.. seriously. It's worth it!

Jeanne Z.

Yelp
This is the best winery in Southern Oregon and Applegate. I have been a member for several years and their wines are consistently superior to all in the area as well as throughout Oregon. They had a Valentine event with dinner and featuring their wines. The chef that planned and coordinated the dinner is what one would expect in 5 star restaurants. Troon has been able to secure competent, knowledgable , staff that make everyone feel very welcome. Their grounds are beautiful and wines are the very best. I am proud of them and grateful that such a class act is in my area.

Jessica W.

Yelp
Dani was AWESOME! She was so friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. She took the time to describe each wine, how the wine making process was different for each wine, literally any question I asked (which was a lot) she had an answer for. She was genuinely excited about the wines and Troon as a whole and it showed throughout our visit. The wines themselves are amazing and their reds are big and delicious! Thanks again to Dani for making our visit a truly memorable experience.

T B.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this place and the property is beautiful. We ended up buying a bottle of their granache, it is delicious. The girl who helped us was very friendly, and the view from their tasting room is beautiful. Thanks for a good time! Visiting from Lincoln, CA.

Denny B.

Yelp
WinesnobsSF has this as their favorite Vineyard/Wine. The staff are the most fun and knowledgeable! Always a family greeting when we arrive. The wines are FABLUOUS! Makes it difficult to choose! Love stopping by for a beverage and see those who have become friends! and of course, wine selections are always going home

Daniel M.

Yelp
Great location and very friendly winery. The parking is extremely difficult, as there is no control on how the vehicles are parked. Makes going here extremely difficult.

Sarita M.

Yelp
Lovely place to spend the afternoon. I am not much of a wine fan but I enjoyed their Rose "Jeanie in a Bottle" and their white wine. Their staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating to a large group while still taking care of the smaller groups there at the same time. Their grounds are beautiful and have a lot of things to do- like bocce, jenga, bean bag toss. Bring a picnic or buy some of their yummy cheese torts and crackers there. Do a yelp check in for a free tasting.

Kurt B.

Yelp
We enjoyed our visit. The new owners have made quite a difference! We had a small charcuterie that was delicious. Our server, Danni was very knowledgeable, personable and a bonus to our day! We will be back!!!

Lori A.

Yelp
Hey, Craig C.: No, I do not have my wineries confused. I went to ONLY your winery that day and yours was the last charge on my card. My issue is that I was told that someone would call me back and neither the blonde or the manager did (not to mention no initial return calls from my voicemails). Your initial comment ("You must have your wineries confused") and the lack of responses shows how much you think of your customers. Good luck to you. **UPDATE/LAST RESPONSE: Craig C, You. Don't. Get it. What is not a big deal is replacing my card. What IS a big deal is not returning your customers phone messages and then promising to call back and not doing so. And, no, having the manager call me back AFTER I posted a negative Yelp review DOES NOT COUNT.

Tory S.

Yelp
The rude comments and attitudes from the servers were unacceptable. One of the wine servers made a comment to another employee about the size of one of our girls in our group and the way that she was dressed. I will never bring our business back to this place.

Anna O.

Yelp
Bad service. Was not told about any of the wines poured. We had three people in our group. Bought one bottle of wine and asked to buy cheese platter and was told none were made. They opened a small package of oyster crackers to split amongst 3. We bought a bottle of medium priced wine and was not offered any waiving of tasting fees if bought a 2nd bottle. Will not be back!

Lona R.

Yelp
Troon Vineyard's is my favorite winery! Their Druid Fluid and Jeanie in a Bottle is amazing

Christina H.

Yelp
I've done my fair share of winery visits throughout California so when the opportunity came to visit Southern Oregon wineries, I jumped at the chance. I was not disappointed in what they have to offer and one of the wineries that stood out was Troon Vineyard. They have an absolutely beautiful property and I was pleasantly surprised with the lunch and dinner options they have on their "Troon to Table" menu. While we didn't eat there, the food we saw looked amazing. When we arrived, it was fairly busy at the tasting bar but that didn't stop Chris from getting us set right up. Their tasting flight consisted of two whites and the rest were red wines. White wines aren't my bag so I only tasted the 2010 dry Riesling and it was good but too sweet for my palate. The reds here were the best I tasted out of the 6 wineries we visited that day. The Druid's Fluid (love the name!) was a perfect mix of Merlot, Zin and Cabernet Sauvignon. I will be back to get some of that stuff because it was outstanding. Because I don't have a favorite varietal, I always tend to love the blends wherever I go. The 2007 Humbug Fire reserve cab made my legs melt. And, how awesome is it that they donate a portion of the proceeds of this wine to the firefighters who fight the wild fires in the area? As wonderful as all the wines here were, I left with one bottle of their 2009 Kubli Bench Zinfandel. It topped the scale but definitely came very close to all the others as my favorite. If money were no object and space (I'm borderline a candidate to be on an episode of "Hoarders" for my wine collection), I would have taken home much more. But, I'll definitely be back!

Nathan B.

Yelp
We visited Troon shortly after New Year's. It was very quiet, one other group showed up as our group of 9 was leaving, otherwise no one else was around. Beautiful setting, buildings are well appointed, with decent landscaping. The chalkboard tables were a fun choice, along with lovely art and interiors. The lady pouring our tasting was very pleasant and did a good job introducing the wines. The wine itself was enjoyable, simple and straightforward, not particularly complex, but very nice open flavors. A few detractors for an otherwise very pleasant time: it would be nice to have some small food dishes availabe to go with the wine, also although it was a nice place for Southern Oregon, the wine presentation was a bit more pretentious than the wine itself deserved. A lovely place, and we'd happily return. And, the wine must have been better than I thought, seeing as we brought half a dozen bottles back across the country with us. (of course, that may speak more to the low quality of swill that is passed off as wine in Pennsylvania!)

Jeanne Z.

Yelp
Great wine! I love the scenery & ambience here. The tasting room is immaculate, and the outdoor space is equally as gorgeous. On, nice Southern Oregon days I love getting a glass (or bottle to share) to drink outside. Last time I was there, I was pleasantly surprised that they let my 5 month old puppy go with me inside and outside on the grounds. I am forever indebted to Troon for that experience, and Remy (my puppy) adored it even more! The wines are superb, and are definitely above the average in the southern oregon, and applegate area. I am a huge fan of winemaker Herb Quady's unique style, and my taste buds can definitely tell when he has had a strong influence on a wine! Overall, I love every wine that they do, from their whites, blends, reds and to their Ports! The Rafting Guide Red really stands out to me, that is a very fun and approachable wine, and I like the southern oregon reference of the river lifestyle as well.

Wendy C.

Yelp
Had a wonderful time here wine tasting. Not only were there a great variety of Wines, the Tannat, being one of my favorites, but the hosts, Brittany and Nate, were charming and entertaining and my friend and I were very grateful for their hospitality. Shopping for wines for my restaurant is always the most fun part of my job especially when I come across a vineyard with great personality in both the vine and the person.

Alexander O.

Yelp
The oldest winery in the valley, and home to some of its best moderately-priced wines. The property is beautiful-- There's a shaded outdoor sitting area with bocce, jenga, and other outdoor games. This is my favorite winery for big groups, and a must-see for anyone on a wine tour of the Applegate valley.

Frank Z.

Yelp
One of the best winery's in southern Oregon. A must stop when in the area! The wines are awesome and nicely priced. A must stop when in Southern Oregon ! A nice way to spend a leisurely Sunday afternoon. Staff is awesome !Always go the extra step .

Jon L.

Yelp
Troon is one of my top Southern Oregon wineries hands down. Not only is their Grants Pass location beautiful, but the customer service has been one of the best; our names were remembered after our second time to the tasting room, who else does that? The wines at Troon Vineyard aren't good...they're AMAZING. My wife and I have two wine racks in our house; one rack is for wine we buy at wineries, and the other rack is for Troon wine. As for the negative reviewers on here reviewing Troon, I think they should try this winery again. Sit out back with a cheese plate, a bottle of Zin, and contemplate the really important stuff in life, like where to tasting next! That's what we do.

Janet L.

Yelp
We were sharing So Oregon's wonderful delights (wine touring!) with family from North Carolina ... Ashley was a wonderful and informative wine server, explaining the uniqueness of the variety of wines Troon creates...We all had a lovely afternoon and plan to revisit soon. Do not miss this winery when out in the Applegate. : )

Carol m.

Yelp
We were tasting in the Applegate Valley 10/30/2010. Most wineries post a tasting fee and also credit back to a bottle price. This winery did not post a fee or mention one. Charged us $5.00 per person even though one person had one sip and did not credit the fee to the bottle we purchased. When I asked about it the sales person was snippy and said that it was "customary". We had tasted that day at four other wineries and two did and two did not charge. When the charged it was posted or immediately stated. I will NOT return or recommend them in any way.

Lori D.

Yelp
Went here on July 3rd. Beautiful winery that we used to go to all the time. New owners now. The inside is bland (they need a designer). But worse, this blonde girl took my credit card and put it in the Square device and did not give it back. Unfortunately I did not notice at the time. I called that afternoon and left a VM with no return call. The next day they were closed for the holiday. I left another VM on July 6th during business hours. Called again same day and spoke with a nice guy who said their Manager was off that day but she would call me back and he would also leave a note for the "blonde" girl. I received no callbacks. Still don't have my card. Businesses should treat their customers better.

Carri K.

Yelp
This was by far our favorite winery of the day. Everything was delicious! My cousin even signed up for a wine membership there, Im so jealous! I thought they had the best prices from the wineries as well. The staff were so friendly and informative. They also have some very tasty mustards and jellies to try as well. Beautiful facility, beautiful grounds, fantastic wine at a great price.
