"The freshest seafood and perfectly seared steaks have been the norm at this Griffin Road mainstay for 75-plus years. Christmas Eve and Day will be no exceptions. As with any day, reservations are as much of a must as that 14-ounce king-cut prime rib when you’re super-hungry."

The 9 Best Steakhouses in Broward County | Eater Miami

"Billed as “South Florida’s oldest and finest steakhouse,” this is not a false statement. Originally opened in 1949, this Griffin Road institution is generationally beloved for its affordable-meets-memorable spreads. Case-in-point, a long-time special is its two one-pound main lobsters, a salad, side, and rolls for $39 on weekdays."

Restaurant was recommended by a coworker; was very hesitant to visit. However, co-worker became credible source when they recommenced a much smaller Mexican restaurant which blew my mind. Therefore, it was time to try T. Acres. Took my family randomly one day in the week, it was packed. Service was great and the wait time was short. Nothing was disappointing. From appetizer to main course, even drinks which I rarely order was wonderful. Both Les and Wendy were very attentive despite being busy. They both gave great recommendations. My family had a great time. Looking forward to take my mother when she comes to visit…I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The family wants to go back soon.

Google
Excellent service from JJ highlighted the great food. Honestly, my wife's center cut filet, one of the first ever that I've tasted with real flavor, was so good that it made me regret my end cut prime rib. Our friends were very happy with their lobsters and the tomahawk veal chop. We ate too much by the time we added in both appetizers and dessert. Would definitely return.

i recently visited Tropical Acres at 2500 Griffin Rd, in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I was there at the banquet hall for a high school reunion. I just want to compliment how the hall was set up, the bars serving so many drinks, and the chaffing dishes being kept filled and the servers serving so many people. A great job

Google
The food is great and they are fast. As another reviewer noted- I also had James and he was terrific. I had the center cut filet and fries. It was cooked exactly how I asked and in 2025 was still a decent price.

Google
Outstanding service by James (and Jay) - seriously it's been a long time since I've had such attentive and kind service that really is so memorable! Food was excellent: we enjoyed the crab cakes and you can't beat the $39 2 lobster special! Their homemade tiramisu was tasty and I'm excited to try their award winning homemade key lime pie I bought to go (that is also really reasonably priced compared to other places)! I will definitely return soon!!

I was visiting from out of town, and really wanted a steak. I walked in and was told I could wait for a seat or sit in the bar/lounge area and be serviced right away. I opted to sit in the lounge. Tony and Nick at the bar are good guys. A+ service, positive energy, and very attentive to people’s needs. The steak on the other hand was a bit disappointing. I ordered the signature filet mignon. I love filets because it’s a lean, tender cut of meat. The filet I received was chewy and lacked flavor. I don’t think it was seasoned at all. Tony and Nick had offered some steak sauces and even brought me a couple, but a good steak shouldn’t need any sauce. I melted some butter on it and added pepper and it was okay. At the end, Tony gave me my receipt, but when I went to pay, someone charged me for the wrong table. I point this out and Tony made it right and even gave me some type of voucher. Mistakes happen, and this wasn’t a big deal to me. Long story short, I don’t know if I’ll come back. This is solely based on the steak I received and what I paid for my meal. Maybe I’d give it another shot because of the voucher I got and the service. Great service at the bar. Subpar food for the price. Good atmosphere.

True old school cool South Florida 50's feel. Huge range of ages visit there. Great prices and the food was very good.

Google
A classic steakhouse. Gabby and Evelyn were fantastic. Food was perfect. There’s a reason the place has been around for >70 years ❤️ Ask for a side of fresh horseradish to go with the creamy, it takes it up a notch.

Yelp
Had dinner a couple weeks ago and it was delicious as usual. Our waitress Diane Billy was excellent! Attentive and very personable. Thank you for the experience! Definitely four star!

Yelp
Brought my daughter to celebrate her birthday we had a very nice night Diane and Santana were exceptionally attentive and very friendly we appreciate the great service we had filets that were cooked perfect and thank you for the complimentary pie we will be back

Yelp
Been going to Tropical Acres for years, were just there again last night. As always, great service, and I am addicted to their "Signature Filet". My wife had an issue with her Strip Steak, they swapped it out no problem, and her meal was awesome! Jackson is the manager and part owner, and he runs a tight ship! No matter what, you will be happy there!

Yelp
Yes this is a long but thorough read so be prepared. Tropical acres steakhouse in Dania beach. I have never been here before so this is my first time dining and a very objective review Made a 630 reservation and that was on purpose as I figured that would be the busiest time of day so a good gauge to measure. I pulled up and the lot was packed, I parked way down at the end cause I can use the exercise. Didnt realize how big this place is and how many they can seat. Walked in about 625 and there were 2 people ahead being seated. I have my info and they said it would Be a few mins but by 630 I was at my table. Within 2-3 minutes my server Gabriella welcomed me and asked had I ever been there before and went over the special with lobsters. I explained no but I knew what I was going to order as I had looked in advance. Also I'm not a fish or seafood person nor a prime rib guy My drinks were out promptly and my salad was brought out with the nice hot rolls right away. The salad and dressing were good and dressing wasn't overpowering. I ordered the filet mignon and Gabriella asked if I wanted it butterflied as it would come out faster and might be a longer wait if not so I said sure. I also had the baked potato and ordered a side of the steakhouse mac and cheese. By the time I finished the salad I waited maybe a few minutes more and my dinner was out maybe by 7pm Gabriella checked on me quite a few times to make sure everything was ok. When my drink was empty she came by right away to ask if I needed a refill and came by again before the end of the meal to just refill the drink unasked. I was too full for dinner for dessert. The one mistake was my own in that when they butterflied the steak I should have asked them to cook less as the steak was a little overcooked for my liking but now I know for next time or maybe I just wait it out a bit longer. Would I come back? Definitely. I had a very enjoyable meal and fantastic service. Gabriella was tipped well for the great service and the small talk when she heard I was from NY I think the mistake people make is people compare this to a 5 star Michelin establishment(yes I know there is no such thing, I was being overdramatic to get a cheap laugh) in their expectation and that's just unrealistic. The value of the meal I don't think can be beat, if you want that Michelin place you're also gonna pay 2-3x the price. As an aside note directly to my left diagonal was a table for 3 and one of the ladies ordered the 6 oz prime rib. She wasn't happy with it and I could make out part of it where she states to her party oh it doesn't look like the picture and it's so small. (6oz to me would be the appetizer for me lol, not sure what she expected). The issue here is she never tells the server who came back over a few times. It wasn't until he asked if she wanted to box up the rest did she say something to him. Now they did the right thing and took off the charge for her dinner but meanwhile now she continues to complain afterwards about it. The poor server looked kinda defeated but I'm not sure why she didn't just bring this up from the start and once he's apologized and taken the meal off what additional can be done?

Yelp
We decided to take our friend to Tropical Acres for his 40th birthday. We were thinking about Eddie V's which is a higher level steakhouse altogether, but wanted to try the cool 70s retro ambiance of Tropical Acres. It definitely reminded me of being in a Brady Bunch episode! I wasn't sure of a dress code, so told my friends polo, button shirt and long pants should get us by. Surprisingly we were overdressed as the majority of the men were super casual in cargo shorts, worn t-shirts and maybe Hawaiian shirts. We're definitely in FL. Some of the senior citizens did dress up. Bottom line, don't worry about what to wear. Reservations were easy to snag on a Tuesday night for four of us. We arrived at our reservation time and promptly seated in a booth. Cocktails were excellent so the bartenders know their stuff. Tuesday is wine night and most of the wine bottles are 50% off. The higher-end wines are only 20% off but we still went for Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Excellent wine for red meat. Erik, our server, was fantastic. He definitely knows the menu and was friendly and cordial throughout our dinner. He tag-teamed with Evelyn who also was fun, enjoyable and was constantly keeping our table and tableware up to snuff. The meal was paced right. Salads were fine. I honestly have never had escargot served this way: The snails were shelled, small and almost appeared drowned and scooped into a bowl. They tasted just ok. I had to ask a friend what the other appetizer was because it was unrecognizable and unappetizing. What looked like 3 meatballs smothered with melted cheese were actually stuffed mushrooms. They tasted better than they looked. Our 14oz Rib Eye steaks came out maybe needing more char, but were cooked to the right temperature. Unfortunately both our steaks were a bit tough and chewy with too much gristle. I'd be surprised if these were prime cuts. Luckily I tasted my friend's 10oz Prime Rib, and that was delicious...I should have went with my intuition! Our friend got a complimentary cheesecake slice with candle. The dessert cart was rolled out. In another first for me, some of the desserts were just photos, not samples of the real thing. We went with a photo of tiramisu which was passable. Summary: Ambiance 4 stars, Service 5 stars, Appetizers 3 stars, Entrees 4 stars, Dessert 3 stars. When we come back to Tropical Acres, and I'm sure we will, please remind me to order the Prime Rib.

Yelp
We went to Tropical Acres yesterday for a friend's birthday, and we were blown away by how great the service was. Erik and Evelyn were the perfect team, and I hope we get them as waitstaff the next time we come. We started our night with cocktails, which were tasty and priced right. I got an Old Fashioned, and the rest of my dining troupe had Dirty Martinis with stuffed blue cheese olives--now that's a bonus for sure! Oh, speaking of drinks, on Tuesdays, they have half price bottles! We ordered a bottle of Caymus b/c it was a friend's b-day, so we were treating him. As for food, I got the Prime Rib, which was super tasty. I added a hint of salt before eating to heighten the flavor, but I'd definitely order again. Another dining guest got the filet and said it was amazing. My two friends who ordered ribeye steaks said they were a little gristley but tasted great. It must have been a fluke because both of them had dined at Tropical Acres previously and said they had never ordered a steak that was chewy. Some of the apps and sides we tried included the escargot (very tasty), stuffed mushrooms (I've had better; these needed to be cooked more), and creamed spinach. As for atmosphere, Tropical Acres is your old school 70s/80s vibe steakhouse. It likely looks the same inside as it did 40-50 years ago. But, to me, that is cool. It just adds to the overall vibe. I'd definitely hit up Tropical Acres again--maybe even for Happy Hour. I hear they have an awesome one!

Yelp
One thing I love is a locally owned business!! And with Tropical Acres being the oldest steakhouse in Broward, how can you not give it a try?!? Inside is upscale and 1950s, New York vibes! They have live piano and other musicians on occasion. I always get the petite filet with mashed potatoes and whatever seasonal veggies are available. Escargot is my favorite appetizer to get bc I love the garlic butter sauce!!! Forever bread service is a good perk!! I have NEVER had an issue with the temperature of my medium rare preference, and the creme brulee is the perfect ending!! Their cocktails are good and they have a nice wine selection. I come here on date nights or solo to belly up to the bar. The servers are always attentive and friendly. Lots of them have been working there for YEARS!! (That's a good sign!) Don't forget about the butcher shop!! We get lots of cuts for the family BBQs at quality better than most grocery stores, and their pricing is fair. I will ALWAYS pay a little more to support local businesses!!! And I'll always go back to tropical acres ;)

Yelp
There nothing like an old school steakhouse and this one is right down the middle of the fairway. I visited Tropical Acres as a part of a bachelor party and would definitely recommend to anyone in the area. The service was great and the dining room was cozy and very elegant with its signature wood carpentry. Steaks and seafood were amazing as well. Wonderful night out with the boys eating steaks at this fine establishment.

Yelp
The target audience for this place is older people. There's lots of large parties here which is the main clientele they have. It was very loud in the place and hard to hear people opposite of the table from you. The customer service was great. The food is alright, I don't personally like steak so I got the seafood platter. That fish of the day was very oily/buttery rather than the flavor of the fish coming though. The portion sizes are nice since they come with a side salad and a side (i got a baked potato). Prices are expensive here though. I wouldn't personally go back, but older people seem to love it. They serve all their food on these hot steel plates so they come out hot. However, they're heavy to move and also hot for the customer when it's accidently touched.

Yelp
We are practically neighbors. We live one block away from this place. After living in my house for almost 20 years, the time has come for a visit. After learning about their happy hour deals, we decided to try it out! The happy hour deal is decent. In addition to the drinks, they also offer a number of small-portion appetizers. We decided to go with a few of the items on this visit. The Coconut Shrimp were fried with good flavors, even though I am not a big fan of coconuts. The TA Wings were interesting. It was grilled, dressed in nice BBQ sauce, and tasted good. Also, the escargot was one of our favorites. Like the sauce it came with, and the escargot was soft and juicy. Last but not least, I also like their Fried Zucchini Slices. I know we ordered many fried dishes, but this one was fried lightly, and I can still taste the zucchini, not just the grease from the fryer. All in all, it was a good visit. The place was busy during happy hours. It took a while for us to get our food and drink orders, but the bartender did her best given she was the only bartender working that night.

Yelp
STEAK STEAK STEAK...This family owned steakhouse has been here for seventy-five years. As you enter, a gentleman wearing a suit, is playing casual dinner tunes on a classic black piano. (will play Billy Joel upon request). The tables are covered in old school white cloth surrounded by green chairs and silverware wrapped in black cloth napkins. Two massivi 22 oz Porterhouse steak which was cooked perfectly and tasted great and came out quickly. Key lime and strawberry cheese cakes for dessert.

Yelp
For my husband's birthday, I decided to treat him to a special dinner at Tropical Acres Steakhouse, a longtime favorite of his. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated in a reasonable amount of time, considering how busy the restaurant was. Our waitress, Diane, was an absolute delight. Her warm personality and attentive service made our dining experience all the more enjoyable. From start to finish, every aspect of our meal exceeded our expectations. To start off, we indulged in crisp and refreshing salads--his a Caesar, mine a house salad with the restaurant's creamy blue cheese dressing, a personal favorite. I opted for the shrimp scampi, which, outside of tgeir steak is a favorite of mine. Meanwhile, my husband savored every bite of his perfectly cooked porterhouse steak, accompanied by a classic baked potato. The attention to detail in every dish, combined with Diane's exceptional service, made my husband's birthday dinner truly memorable. We left Tropical Acres Steakhouse feeling satisfied.

Yelp
We had Les and Evelyn tonight. Everything from the reservation to the check was excellent. The server was attentive and the food came out exactly as ordered. Very old school interior warm and charming. Also live music tonight. Highly recommend.

Yelp
My favorite steakhouse in South Florida! It's old school done right every time. I've been here a hundred times. James and Mark provided excellent service. We knew to make reservations early in the fall. It was special because my mom came from Michigan with her husband. I usually cook Christmas dinner but decided to spend the day with mom relaxing and looking at old photo albums. We arrived just on time for our 4:00 pm reservation. It was raining pretty bad but I didn't want to be late. The staff at the check in desk were kind despite the large crowd of people. We were given table 151 and then were told to wait. I didn't mind at all. It gave us time to look at the menu and for me to think about what I want to buy the next time that I pass by the butcher shop. We ended up being sat at table 81 which was cozy and has newly renovated seats in the booth. The Caesar salad was on point! I truly think they should sell their dressing. I will be first to buy a half dozen bottles of this heavenly goodness. Almost every restaurant has Caesar salad these days but real Caesar salad dressing is hard to come by. The rolls were warm and it's always comforting to see the same square pats of butter wrapped in gold foil. My mom had the rack of lamb. She has travelled the world and eaten in some of the best restaurants, Mom was ecstatic with how perfect the lamb was. It was the cook and the quality that impressed her. Mom also loved the sweet potato casserole. Her partner had the holiday turkey dinner and was pleased. They even brought him a side of extra gravy. My daughter had the filet mignon as she always does. It was perfectly medium rare. I got the surf and turf because I love their filet and their lobster just add much. It was the best surf and turf dinner I've ever had in my life. The lobster tail was sweet and juicy. The filet was huge, perfectly medium rare and the mashed potatoes on the side were the best holiday comfort food one could ask for. We had a wonderful time together. Mom leaves today and won't be with me for my birthday on Thursday so it was extra special to have time with her at Tropical Acres. The family that owns this establishment is dedicated to providing the best. I can't wait to have another Yelp party here with friends!

Yelp
Show me a steakhouse and I'll show you how to get a great meal without all the meat with feet! Let's start with my veggie broth French onion soup. Then the group! It was char broiled and delicious! Tropical Acres Steakhouse, South Florida's oldest steakhouse, has a rich history from its origins in 1949 to overcoming challenges like fires. The char-broiled technique is used at this spot. Food is cooked in an open pit. It's become a signature, and the enduring loyalty between the staff and management contributes to its continued success. Service was so fast. Waters constantly filled.

Yelp
We are not sure what the hype is all about. The food was not up to our expectations. Both our meals were very salty. My husband had steak and I had lobster tails. I was told no salt was added but they were smothered in butter which has salt. It took a very long time to get our food. When it came my husbands came out first. I had to wait a while. Then my meal came without the vegetable. It finally came. We have no interest in returning.

Yelp
Had a nice meal with some friends for a birthday. This place has been here forever but they remodeled it looks really nice inside. they have an early bird between 430 and 5:30 PM and you get soup, dessand a drink with your meal, salad and side already comes with the meal. The prime rib was cooked just right and the 2-1pd lobsters are $35 for the dinner, just for the lobster and salad and side. it is better to go early because our waiter was right there at the beginning and then when It got busy later on it was hard to find her, it gets really busy. I had a nice slice of ice cream cake for dessert. There are so many great choices to choose from the fillet on a stick was very good and tender along with your fresh vegetables, and the smashed sweet potatoes are really tasty . They have a great happy hour in the bar area with some very good appetizers on the menu. The French onion soup is loaded with lots of cheese. You get to enjoy your meal with live piano music while you're dining.

Yelp
This place has all the charm. The best food, servers and bartenders. Tony is truly a master of his craft with cocktails and service always being above five stars. I always bring my friends from out of town to visit. Thank you Tony and Nick for always providing the best experience .

Yelp
Service was amazing from the host to the server. Peter and Kerry made a great team and did a great job of telling us about the menu and specials. Twin lobster $39 and tomahawk steak 32 ounces was $90. The steak was good but just slightly tough. I would get the lobster special again but not the tomahawk. It was still satisfying! This is a great spot for families, gatherings or date night. Parking is easy! They do offer entertainment here so check the schedule. We will be back here in October, we got he frequent flyer card!

Yelp
This is our favorite steakhouse. It reminds us of the old Hollywood places with the piano player and the delicious steaks. Tonight we were a group of 5. Laura and Arther were a team that were our servers. That's another thing. You get 2 proficient people assisting you with your dining experience. This team was top notch. Our water was always filled and we didn't need to ask for anything but a box for our leftovers, lol. The table each ordered the fillet. It was cooked perfectly to each of everyone's preference. Some of us ordered the wedge salad that comes in a chilled plate. Some ordered the French onion soup which comes with so much cheese. I ordered the breaded shrimp. It was so delicious and crispy. The shrimp were a nice size and fresh. The table ordered the key lime pie to share. It wasn't my favorite. The lemon blueberry cake is better. If you're looking for an amazing steakhouse that's reasonably priced and has impeccable service, this is your place.

Yelp
When steak is on your mind make it a point to stop in to enjoy this SoFlo staple. For years Tropical Acres has been serving top quality steaks and fresh seafood. If you're in the area, I highly recommend a nice steak dinner here. Service and the great ambience will make you a regular.

Yelp
Love the lobster. My friends and I enjoy going there for special occasions. The lobster is cooked and served just as I remember from my childhood.

We always have great food, service, and the best cocktails! Thank you to Eric and Evelyn for the wonderful service. Excellent spot to relax and enjoy the best steaks and seafood.

Yelp
Finally tried this classic steak house. I had the special of twin one pound lobsters with a salad, side and rolls. Yummy. My husband had a 10 oz filet with salad, side and rolls. With the side of mushrooms and two glasses of merlot, $135 total. About half the price of Burns in Tampa, but not quite as 'old school'. The service was excellent. Felt like a nice steak house. Food was great. Didn't feel like Frank Sinatra would walk in, but definitely a date night place.

Yelp
I've heard so much about this steakhouse,, so I wanted to try for myself. I was fortunate enough to come here for a birthday dinner so my experience was not relative to a regular reservation because we had the private dining room in the back. I must start with that. This place is huge, I didn't expect it to have so many people and the parking lot is huge as well so just an FYI. But upon entry, the greeting was pretty standard and welcoming. It was shared that it's the oldest steakhouse in Broward County, and I can kind of tell, because the establishment gives me a back in the day feel and looks like it's been around for a while. Also, majority of the patrons of the establishment are definitely older so it seem this is somewhere they always come. The menu is pretty standard to a steakhouse, and I must say the prices are actually more affordable than the average steakhouse today such as Ruth Chris , flemings, Morton's, to name a few ( but these places are delicious lol). Now the food, it was OK, I had the coconut shrimp, which tasted like frozen package shrimp they heated up. I also have the crabcakes which was pretty standard and tasted okay as well. In my party, they had the appetizer sampler, mac and cheese, potatoes, the lobster, the porterhouse steak, the ribeye. But everything was just OK for me, it wasn't like melt in the mouth, scrumptious food. The food wasn't terrible, but it did not live up to the hype, and my party definitely agreed. I feel like a lot of these reviews and people that love it is really based on nostalgia for the restaurant because there are definitely better options out there. This is not somewhere I need to return.

Yelp
Tropic Acres Steakhouse, a place so quintessentially Florida, it should be featured on postcards. This is where I had the pleasure of dining with business colleagues and our better halves, immersing ourselves in what can only be described as a time capsule of old-school Florida charm. Let's start with the décor. Walking into Tropic Acres is like stepping onto the set of a classic Florida-themed movie from the '70s. The décor is so authentically dated, you half expect to see a young Elvis Presley at the next table, munching on a steak. It's not just a dining room; it's a museum of Floridian nostalgia - where every wall hanging and carpet pattern tells a story of a groovier era. Now, the steaks. These weren't just steaks; they were like delicious historical artifacts. Cooked to perfection, each bite was a reminder of why this place is an icon. Eating these steaks felt like being inducted into an exclusive club of carnivores who know the true meaning of "well done" (or medium-rare, as the case may be). The service? Imagine the professionalism of a state dinner but with the warmth of your favorite uncle at a family BBQ. The staff treated us with such finesse and care, I started wondering if we'd accidentally joined the ranks of Florida's elite. They were attentive, yet not overbearing - like culinary ninjas, appearing exactly when needed and then vanishing into the Floridian sunset. And let's not forget the overall experience. Dining here is like being part of a secret society that knows the true meaning of "Florida charm." It's the kind of place where you go for the steaks but stay for the stories. The atmosphere is so thick with nostalgia; you might leave with a slight accent and an urge to buy a vintage Cadillac. In summary, Tropic Acres Steakhouse is more than a restaurant; it's a journey back in time to the heart of old-school Florida. It's where steaks are served not just with sides but with a side of history. If you're looking to relive the glory days of the Sunshine State while enjoying a darn good steak, this is your spot. Just don't be surprised if you leave with a newfound appreciation for floral print and classic charm!

Yelp
Sorry, it was just ok. Shrimps were firm but small for a high end steak house. Asparagus was great. Steaks were disappointing ... 3 people were went with all commented the same.

Yelp
This was my first time at TA. I took my boyfriend for his birthday as he hadn't been in a decade and kept talking about the prime rib. We had 7 pm reservations. We got a drink at the bar while we waited and were sat around 7:20 pm. My bf stayed behind to pay the bar tab but after several minutes, he met me at the table and let the server know the bar was quite busy and that we had an open tab still in which the server advised he would handle it. The servers Laura and Arthur were very attentive. They told us about the specials and we ordered the escargot for an appetizer which was fantastic. The portion size was actually very good, however it needed to be served with more toast. We decided to split the large prime rib and the broiled seafood platter and added a lobster tail. All was fantastic! We had caesar salads which were very flavorful, a baked potato and the creamed spinach which was very good. I let them know it was my bf's birthday and we were offered a complimentary cheesecake or key lime pie. He chose the key lime pie which was great in flavor, but needed to be more chilled. Overall, we had a lovely dinner and will definitely return. I can't wait to come for HH!

Yelp
I got the prime rib. It was fine. They got us through New Year's Eve very quick. It felt rushed. Pretty expensive for what felt like kind of a cheap experience.

Yelp
I love coming to this place. Whole crew is alway great, Tony is a super chilled person and is a great bar tender. Nick was also a of great service at the bar. Make sure you get the lobster add on. Food has always been phenomenal. Live piano playing is great for the ambience enhancement. A must for all to try.

Yelp
I remember going to the Tropical Acres on Central Avenue in Yonkers as a child. It was the place to goto celebrate special events. I was so excited to be coming back. This Tropical Acres was nothing fancy or particularly special, just okay. Our waitress was attentive & nice. There were lots of rooms with parties coming & going. Seniors with walkers were leaving at 7 o'clock when we arrived & groups of teenagers celebrating sweet sixteens, young adults for a rehearsal dinner. a bus load of tourists and a mix of all kinds. There was a piano player, plaiting dinner music. I didn't realize this was a steakhouse and we're not big meat eaters. Four of us shared two assorted appetizers with coconut shrimp, fried mozzarella, fried zucchini, with a marinara and cocktail sauce on the side. I enjoyed my side, Cesar salad. We shared two roasted fish platters with shrimp, tilapia, scallops, and a crabcake with a baked potato on the side. Our fish was tasteless & dry, my meal tasted like frozen fish & crustaceans that were plated and heated under a broiler. It isn't too hard to make this at home and mine would have been fresh with fresh herbs. There was a desert cart that came around and we shared a tiramisu and red velvet cake They were also just okay.

Yelp
I wanted to give this another try because It was daddy-daughter date night. After taking our order, the server never came back to ask if we needed anything, and the overall service was lousy My daughter and I ordered prime rib MR, and when the food came, I had a prime rib, and she had a filet. I was going to send hers back, but she insisted on keeping it. Both pieces of meat were cooked to perfection and were good, and the sides are another story. The baked potato tasted like it was days old. And the asparagus tasted like lighter fluid. The French onion soup was cold The server immediately credited the asparagus, and I paid the bill. Not sure I'll go back again in the near future

Yelp
Tropical Acres has a great Lobster special and if you're lucky enough you can be served by Bryan. He is professional with a quick wit. Making this evening even more enjoyable.

Yelp
Had a 530 reservation for a family birthday dinner. Came here on the recommendation of friends who live locally. Service was solid for the first 15 minutes. Once apps came out it became borderline atrocious. Drinks were never refilled, couldn't get another beer, never saw the wait staff. It didn't seem understaffed. Entrees came out, three of the six orders were incorrect and several sides never came. They never offered to change those out and frankly, we didn't want to wait another hour for a new order. We decided to skip cake for my dad as everything was taking a long time. The check came and included all the items we never received as well as several drinks from someone else. When we pointed it out to our waitress, it seemed like we were inconveniencing her. I've worked in hospitality for almost 20 years... this place is unacceptable. Check your bill before giving them a card. It's a shame because the food we got was pretty good. Two thumbs down, go somewhere else.

Yelp
This could be a great place if they had enough staff And/OR the staff were trained in customer satisfaction. The sizzler plates are silly; give me a plate. Love e that it's not a chain.

Yelp
Old school style steakhouse. Lots of wood, slightly dark. Traditional food. Steaks of various cuts, a few types of seafood. A couple of pastas. But the steaks were very good, prepared as requested and seasoned a bit but not too much. Scallops also very good. Had an appetizer sampler we all enjoyed very much. Desserts were a tally really delicious. Had crème brûlée. berry cake, and tiramisu. All winners. The only things we all thought weren't so great were their side dishes. Creamed spinach, French fries, asparagus, hash browns. All just big nothings. But ok. Everything else was really good. And service was very attentive. The price, while not cheap, was actually comparatively very good Entrees come with a Salad and a side which many other places don't. We all really liked this place and would definitely come back.

Yelp
Always great food and good service. Have been coming here for years and have always had a great experience. We enjoyed their 2 Maine Lobster Summer special today. We had the creamed spinach and the sweet potato, delicious. For appetizer we had their home made, in-house battered onion rings, tasty. They have a live piano player and it was busy tonight due to their wine deal: half price bottles on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Yelp
My kids and I wanted to take their mother out for a special Mother's Day dinner. I suggested Tropical Acres after having had many wonderful dining experiences there. We had reservations for 4:30 pm. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the owner, Jack, then led to our table. Our servers were very pleasant and attentive to our party of six. We ordered a variety of entrees including salmon, steak, seafood, and beef Wellington. Everyone raved about how delicious their meals were. The relaxed ambiance of the very talented piano player made our dining experience extra special. I highly recommend Tropical Acres to anyone desiring an outstanding dining experience. Dine there and you'll be delighted you did!

Yelp
Decided to take my wife to dinner on Mother's Day; had a 5p reservation got there early decided to have a cocktail in the bar/lounge area, Tony & Nick the bartenders are a dynamic duo extremely polite & prompt service even though they were extremely busy for the holiday; We were promptly seated at our table after getting our drinks, a pre selected menu for the holiday with absolutely great choices, my wife chose the Beef Wellington ,at the suggestion of our server , I chose the Lamb chops both were served cooked and seasoned to perfection .. Jackson/manager came by to check everything was to our liking which was nice... We had a no pressure dinner that was by far well enjoyed and like home cooking, we decided we were having such a wonderful evening to have a after dinner drink back in the bar/lounge area , certainly had a fantastic time & highly recommend the establishment to those that enjoy a family like atmosphere, great food. Jack the establishments owner was on hand to great you on the way in and Thank you on the way out.... Class AAA establishment start to finish.....

Yelp
Six of us had a dinner reservation tonight at 6pm & we were seated immediately. They extended the summer lobster special until mid November so that was a pleasant surprise! Two one pound Maine lobsters, salad and a side dish for $35; available Monday-Friday while supplies last. Sometimes the lobsters are hit or miss but tonight they were sweet, juicy and of course messy. Absolutely delicious and again, what a great surprise. Others ordered the baked stuffed shrimp and a few filet steaks. Sides included asparagus, macaroni and cheese, a sweet potato and for my side I had their creamed spinach which has been my go-to side here for years. Surprisingly it's not heavy on the cream and it is wonderful. Desserts on the table were cheesecake, tiramisu and ice cream cake. I had a few bites of the tiramisu and it was yummy. Another great meal at Tropical Acres and I hope to return before mid November when the lobster special ends.

Yelp
This was the first time I'd been to this restaurant, so I don't think I can give it an extensive review but my overall experience was positive. One of the friends I was dining with recommended that we come here. I was in the mood for prime rib and have to say it was very tender and enjoyable. For appetizers, we got the stuffed mushroom, the shrimp cocktail and the appetizer sampler. I think all were decent and as expected. The fried mozzarella may have been a little bit better than I was expecting. The drinks were really well made and tasted sophisticated. I got the smoky margarita and it was mellow and not syrupy sweet like some I've had. The service was good and everyone was very attentive. The ambience was different and lively. It seems like there are a lot of older patrons that come to the bar to have drinks and socialize. I'm from the Tampa Bay Area and if I had to describe the restaurant, it was a cross between Charlie's steak house as far as decor (but the menu doesn't seem as extensive) and the now closed Red Rose Inn. Overall, I think it's worth a try.

Yelp
This steakhouse surpassed all expectations with its impeccable service, cozy ambiance, and, most notably, the mouthwatering steaks. Each cut was perfectly cooked to order, delivering a symphony of flavors that delighted the palate. The wine list complemented the meal flawlessly. The attentive staff and upscale atmosphere make it an ideal choice for a special night out. Undoubtedly a five-star dining experience. Our server was funny and kind !

Yelp
I had avoided this place for many years as people always said it was for the elderly. However when I was invited by a friend to go I was curious so I accepted the invitation. Little did I know I was going to have a lovely evening with great service. It was 4 of us, and we actually had 2 vegetarians with us. The staff were very accommodating in that they went and checked with the chef about if pastas had any chicken stock or contained meat. Under the advice of my friend I ordered the 11oz filet as it was only a few dollars more to go from 8 to 11ozs. I ordered it Pittsburgh style which I have always wanted to try. Dinner included a salad and a side. The house salad was lovely and I had the baked potato which was generous in portion size. The steak was phenomenal. I paired it with a glass of wine and it was a delicious experience. With 2 glasses of wine, and my salad, steak, and side my bill was about 65$, which in my book is great deal for a steak house. I look forward to returning

Yelp
Consistently great food. Had filet and lobster tail for NYE, a night when restaurants sometimes provide less quality because of the volume. Everything was perfect.

Yelp
Tropical acres has to be in business over 40 years / very popular with locals . A big restaurant with great service. Never a complain & if so it's taken care of ! A very popular bar but when they renovated after a fire years ago never enlarged thei bar area ! They even sell steaks & chops to the public if they have stock as they have huge following! They are consistent & residents have been coming there for years !Casual & comfortable !
