The Best Latin American Restaurants in the Seattle Area | Eater Seattle

"Found in the center of the Wedgewood neighborhood, this cafe brings Brazilian fare to North Seattle. On hot, summer days, the banana-strawberry smoothie and acai bowls loaded with fresh fruit are excellent options. During lunchtime, you can order the tropical sandwich, which can be customized with options like Brazilian cream cheese, chimichurri sauce, and beef pastrami. Craving a light snack? Don’t forget to grab a bolhina de queso (fried cheese ball) on the way out. Indoor seating, takeout, and delivery are all available." - Elizabeth Delgado

Google
Best acai bowls we've ever had! Owner was kind to help me get my cousin's wheelchair out the door (very small step at entry, easy to get him in but extra hand out was great). Friendly service and the food smelled amazing. Next t time we'll be trying something hot. Have already recommended this place to lots of friends. ♥️

Google
Excellent place for desert and a meal. The Acai was fresh and delicious! We were pleasantly surprised on how good the sandwiches are. We had the Misto sandwich and it was definitely something we are coming back for! Wish we could give 10 stars.

Google
The acai bowls...omg so Yummy.. It's a very small place! Not good for large groups Great for take out or delivery! It's convienantly located and there is parking for limited cars. Again great for take out!

Google
The food is delicious! But be prepared, the waits become extraordinary. If you want a quick bite, this isn't the place. We have come here multiples times because the food is great, and have to plan around the fact that an order for two pastels takes 30 minutes from ordering at the counter to in your hands. And we see people waiting longer than that. If your doordasher looks stuck on the tracker, it's because they are waiting.... For a long time. And sometimes not everything is in the order. Make sure you check your bag before you leave that you got your sauces and extras. Doesn't help that they staple the bag closed, so I just rip it open after they hand it to me to check because I've had to drive back twice to get the rest of my order. We have mentioned the wait times to the stass and don't get any real response or reaction, maybe they get away with such slow service because they have the customers anyways, which is unfortunate because it's just not getting any better. Great food, good people, no sense or urgency or awareness of the time their customers are waiting.

Google
I'm so excited to find this place! Their açaí is amazing! They also have pastel (tradicional Brazilian fried dough filled with cheese, ground beef or chicken) which also was delicious. I'm already a fan!

Google
I've had very mixed results with this establishment. The food is good, but the consistency and accuracy of the orders is a detriment to their business. The food takes an astronomical amount of time to prepare which is not a big issue, but combining that with the fact that half of our orders from this place have had a ton of missing items is the reason for my review. We'll request green sauce on sandwiches and it won't be provided. I've ordered the burger meal a few times and it won't include the fries we've paid for and the establishment is only ever willing to do the bare minimum to rectify the issue and forced us to drive there for the items when the food is delivered originally. For the price that this place charges this is ridiculous. There is also a huge language barrier which is very frustrating in solving any of these issues and I feel is a huge part of why so many orders are prepared incorrectly.

Google
I've been here about 3 or 4 times, and every single time the food took more than 50 minutes to arrive. The staff is not attentive at all and very slow. The only reason I keep coming back is because the food is honestly amazing — it's the only place in the Seattle area that truly serves authentic Brazilian street food. But the long wait times and poor service make it a stressful experience every time. I really hope they improve, because the food deserves better.

Google
The acai bowls are fantastic. Best I have ever had. Not too sweet and perfect texture. I love coming here and every time it amazes me how good the acai bowls actually are here. The toppings are always delicious. I love how they do layers if you order nut butter as a topping.

Yelp
I got the X Salada burger and a strawberry-banana smoothie. Service was pretty fast (took 10 minutes to cook) and the food is good. It's a small place: limited parking behind the restaurant and limited seating inside. But it was fairly quiet at 4 PM, and I also saw some covered outdoor seating. My one complaint is that the burgers on the menu don't match what you actually get. The burger photos don't correspond with menu items (are they stock photos?), showing toppings that this restaurant doesn't serve. And when I got my X Salada burger home, I realized it didn't have hearts of palm on it, which the menu explicitly lists as a topping. So I'm disappointed about that. It still tastes good, but I feel like I overpaid for what I got. Overall though it's good food, and I'll probably come back again.

Yelp
Glad I decided to stop by and have an acai bowl for dinner. It was perfect as it wasn't heavy. I decided on the 24oz. The acai was not hard but very smooth and I was very impressed how they gave me honey and additional granola on the side. It made sense to me. Add it as you go or wait till you get to the point where the toppings are almost gone. It blew me away the amount of Brazilians that came into this place. It seems it's a bit of "home" for them. Constantly hearing Portuguese speak is a welcoming sound. Don't bother with the Jamba Juice and come to the real deal.

Yelp
New favorite açaí bowl place for our family. Delicious with pick up and even with delivery.

Yelp
peaNUTbutter smoothie was amazing. The owner was super friendly and had a great variety of Brazilian food transported here to the northwest. This was my first time having Coxinha and it was good-- especially with the sauce! There is limited room for dining but I will definitely be coming back for the fresh fruit smoothies. Go support a local restaurant people.

Yelp
Great food for value. Authentic and delicious. Kind service and helpful staff. I enjoy coming here a lot :)

Yelp
Support small business! This was a real treat to see this location pop up on our yelp when we were finished at the Saint Edwards Park, and wanted a quick snack that wasn't overly sweet. This was a great find all natural ingredients, not a lot of sugar, and also love the fact that it was a family business, and the kids were running the register and making the product. We had the acai bowl in with almond butter, granola, strawberries, and banana and also the strawberry banana shake. Both were really delicious.

Yelp
This spot has the best açaí bowl! Super fresh fruit is used for the toppings and they don't skimp! The açaí was also extremely smooth! My biggest pet peeve is when there's a big ice piece in the acai and that was not an issue here. The granola also has a nice crispy rice puff grain mixed in which have a nice crisp texture. 4.5/5 rating!

Yelp
Stopped in with my daughter for a quick smoothie, and we were so impressed! The smoothie was incredibly fresh and delicious. While we were there, we discovered they serve Brazilian food, and we couldn't resist trying the empanadas--they were hands down the best we've ever had! Definitely coming back for more. Highly recommend! Cute little place to stop by and the service was superb!

Yelp
Love this place! Very friendly staff and great food. One of our new favorite acai places

Yelp
So delicious!! I love that they added plenty of fresh toppings. Staff were very friendly.

Yelp
I am beside myself! Best açaí I've had outside of northern Brasil. Really, really, really good. Rich and so creamy, very smoothly ground and dense. The granola is delicious and crunchy, fruit on top was all fresh and sweet :) They were out of coxinhas but suggested a small sampler tray with mini coxinha, kibe, etc and everything was excellent. The green sauce was tasty, and I ate in and loved the little hot sauces. The staff was friendly and working hard at a steady stream of in person and online orders, constantly moving making fresh juice and orders. I didn't mind the wait one bit. So so impressed, vou voltar pronto!

Yelp
Kind of a strange concoction. It's an acai bowl shop that sells sandwiches and is also some kind of martial arts studio. I have no problem with something being an amalgam of businesses wrapped up into one, but the Acai bowl I got was grainy and sandy. Possibly the worst bowl I've ever had. A friend of mine swore it was the BEST Acai bowl in Seattle, so we had to give it a try. Maybe we got a lemon. But it was not good. I would be willing to give this place another try though, given the rave reviews from Yelp, Google Maps, and my friends. But I can only speak on my experience, and that one experience was bleh.

Magda K.

Yelp
Authentic Brazilian food, high-quality, great staff. You will feel like you are in Brasil.

Eric D.

Yelp
Love the açaí here! Great service and friendly staff! Parking is easy, and decoration is nice!

Earnie G.

Yelp
Great açaí place with a better sourced açaí. They also have food and recently added some hand food like cheese balls and coxinha (Brazilian chicken croquettes). This place is the real deal. Owned and operated by Brazilians. If you want the best açaí place fun the region, this is it.

Kasia G.

Yelp
Where do I even start...this place is AMAZING..I used to go to Kitanda for my acai bowls and once I tried Tropical Berry's acai I could never go back. The other places definitely Americanized their stuff and this place is legit. I also love that you can choose what you want added to your acai bowl. I'm excited to try their other popular items. Yes, some people write that they are expensive but it's quality and I'd rather pay a few dollars more for the purest amount of acai and to get the real deal! Also, all the people working there are nice and I'm so glad y'all moved the business to Bothell so I can come by a lot

Yelp
This place looks very unassuming on the outside, but the açaí bowls are delicious. The granola was layered in the bowl and the toppings were fresh and well balanced. Compared to other bowls I've tried in the area, it is clear that this place uses higher quality ingredients. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Just had my first Açaí bowl experience here. Their Açaí bowl was absolutely delicious. They let me try a sample first and now I am hooked. All ingredients were very fresh. I can't wait to go back tomorrow to try more items.

Yelp
Fantastic little hidden (in plain sight) gem. Delicious açaí bowls. So glad I stopped in. This will definitely be one of my "go-to" spots.

Yelp
This is the spot to come to if you are looking for some top tier, excellent açaí! There is no other place in the PNW I would rather go to then here for an açaí bowl. This is by far my favorite açaí bowl place in Seattle, and probably my favorite place in the country! I try to swing by at often as I can just because I never get tired of the food, and açaí bowls are one of my favorite meals. If I could, I would eat an açaí bowl everyday, anyday whether its for breakfast, lunch, and maybe even dessert, so I am always on the look for good açaí. Not many places in the PNW, or even in general can produce great açaí, but Tropical Berry definetly checks that off. First off, the actual açaí is incredible. The texture is smooth, but also very thick as well, and kind of has the consistency of frozen yogurt, but the flavor of the açaí is very luscious and really rich. It's really interesting how rich the flavors are because it makes the whole thing more decadent. You can really tell though that the base is just pure açaí, and everything you are tasting is the real thing. You definetly know the açaí is going to be authentic and pure when you see that the color of the açaí is very dark, and almost kind of looks black too. That just shows that they don't mix a bunch of other berries and stuff in the açaí which takes away from the true flavor of the açaí. On top of all of that, the toppings are also incredible! I really love the granola because of how crunchy and crisp it is. The coconut flakes are also really good and add more elements of texture and flavor. It doesn't stop there, because the fresh fruit on top are the finishing touches. I usually only get strawberries, but they are always really fresh and juicy. Overall, I love this place, I loce the açaí bowls, and I love the authenticity. This place has truly become one of my favorite places to come for some açaí. My go-to order is a large açaí bowl with granola, coconut flakes, and strawberries, and I don't think that will ever change. Bring your friends, bring your family, because I highly recommend swinging by here!

Yelp
Fresh fruit and Açaí flavor is on point at this Brazilian owned and operated bizz; they have a few kinks to workout with their cash register not working today and although it set my day back about 10 minutes (yes my life is one giant rush) this was a really nice stop today and the custom bowl I got was delicious. I opted for super cereal, cashew butter, and strawberry kiwi, the 8oz was fine for me. I had to eat this like 45 minutes later because of my schedule and I thought it would melt but it was perf. Tip: Groupon deal right now saves $3-4 off all purchases!

Yelp
Have gone by this place many times and thought "I want to try that!" We'll, finally made it in today and glad I did! The (assuming owner) was very kind and welcoming and i liked that you could easily customize your order. The bowl was super big (I got a medium and it was more than I thought) and delicious too!
google avatar

Andy P.

Yelp
We love the acai bowls here. The ingredients are so fresh. We drive 30 minutes to get them.
google avatar

Stefan H.

Yelp
Customer service is below sub-par. Everytime I go there, they have ZERO coxinhas. Even after one time I pre-ordered like 5 of them online, I was welcomed in there only to know that they had none left and at least I got my money back. I would say this place is only cool for Jujitsu, other than that... I'm going to Kitanda

Eduardo N.

Yelp
Quality açaí in their bowls, dense and doesn't melt like other places. Owner Is a sweet and honest guy dude with genuine love for his business (ask him about anything and he'll share). Ambiance is relaxed with regard for your time and experience.

K T.

Yelp
Once you get an acai bowl from here, you won't want to go anywhere else. Yes, it's that good. The acai is thick and creamy, the fruit sweet and juicy, and the presentation is a thing of beauty. I love that I can choose almond butter as a topping! Seriously, I tried to make one at home but it was a sad imposter next to an acai bowl from Tropical Berry. Mmmm, already dreaming about my next bowl.
google avatar

SeYoung C.

Yelp
Had a super tasty Acai bowl out of the state by chance (I'd never had one before). I searched for one around Seattle that was like the one I had before and couldn't find one - until today! Soooo good! Tasty Acai, crunchy granola, fresh fruits!
google avatar

Lisa P.

Yelp
Favorite acai bowls in Seattle! I love the acai, how they give you tons of toppings, and how fresh the fruit is. It's such a good find, because it's hard to find good smoothie bowl places in Seattle. My new go-to acai place! :)
google avatar

Isabella H.

Yelp
Amazing service. The owners are so sweet and polite and they will do anything to accommodate you. Best Brazilian treats in town!
google avatar

Madeleine Q.

Yelp
Pretty pricey for the portion and what you get. Service is slow yet friendly. Be ready for chats, loitering around to get your order. For acai bowls you can choose any of the toppings: strawberries bananas blueberries granola coconut flakes kiwi peanut butter almond butter and condensed milk. If you're looking for socal quality acai bowls this is a gentle warning--not gonna get what you came for but not so bad if you're in the area and craving some refreshing desserts or power snack.
google avatar

Jecca C.

Yelp
Tried this place out two times now and I love it! The açaí bowls and sandwiches are really good and the folks are really friendly. Will definitely come back often.
google avatar

Shannon P.

Yelp
Best Açaí Bowl I've ever had. It's an authentic Brazilian flavor. It's thick and dark and rich. And they have traditional toppings. Three sizes to choose from. Reasonable prices. Brazilian music playing. Great atmosphere! Loved it!
google avatar

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place while waiting for our laundry to dry nearby and what a great experience it was. I have never had an acai bowl before and they helped to explain all of their offerings and provided suggestions. Went with a bowl, with fruit, granola and agave (thanks to their recommendation) and it was delicious. Will definitely be back due to the tasty bowl we had and their awesome customer service.
google avatar

Reese H.

Yelp
Never had an Açaí bowl before and I can for sure say it won't be my last! Looking for more nutrient-dense lunch options this bowl ate like a super fruity sorbet with fresh fruits and toppings which made it feel more filling and tasty. Components were delivered in separate containers so crispy items didn't get soggy and fruit remained intact. Also grabbed a plant-based fruit shake as a beverage and had a very filling and good-feeling meal that ate like a healthier dessert. Was an excellent first experience!

Nichole K.

Yelp
My boyfriend suggested we try Tropical Berry after seeing they had real fruit smoothies. The owner was super friendly and very helpful. My boyfriend and I decided to split a pastrami sub sandwich and try the cheese ball and mini chicken pastry (can't recall the name). We were recommended the fresh squeezed cane sugar juice blended with frozen strawberries, it was delicious! We also got a sample of the cane sugar juice which was really good, Pro tip: add a squeeze of lime juice! Their aioli is good on everything we ate. Highly recommend!

Riley S.

Yelp
This place is delicious and the staff is so friendly! Try their chicked mashed potato fried thing--it's amazing New favorite spot!
google avatar

Amber H.

Yelp
They have the freshest, most delicious açaí. So healthy but it feels like a treat. I recommend everyone try this.

Lilian L.

Yelp
It's amazing place to have a wonderful Brazilian chicken cone (coxinha), a great espresso coffee and French roll with butter (pão na chapa in Portuguese).

R D.

Yelp
I am still thinking about the Açaí bowls - SO good. They use the Costco brand Almond butter which is the best almond butter - no additives, no extra oils, preservatives, etc. And their hot food (chicken and mashed potato bite) was unreal. Also the owners are Brazilian and this place is highly authentic!

Maille W.

Yelp
I love this place so much. Their food and service is so amazing. love to chat with their staff would recommend and will be eating there more often!

Megan B.

Yelp
Ordered 2 acai bowls here and went outside to wait for them. Waited 15 min and looked inside where there were zero employees behind the bar. We wait 10 more minutes for an employee to show up and ask about our order. Long story short we waited 15 more minutes for our order, while another customer walked in, got her order, and left. I wish I could say the acai was worth the almost 40 minute wait but it was just ok. Mostly granola with 1/2 of a strawberry on top and acai itself was not the best.
