Tropical Eats

This place is amazing!!!! Best oxtails I've ever had!!! My wife and I split them and our son got curry goat. We also tried the Mac and cheese and his rotisserie chicken!!! If I could give this place 100 stars I would!!! Also, it doesn't look like you can dine in here, but you can, look through the back door and there's a covered area to dine in as well. We live an hour and a half away but we will definitely be back here!!!!

Excellent choice if you're looking for authentic, homemade Latino and Caribbean dishes like your mom, aunt, or grandmother would make! Many of the dishes are slow cooked so the spices really soak in, and the meat falls off the bone. Friendly service, and very helpful and patient with working through my food allergies. Prices are VERY reasonable. Small venue, so best for takeout, but the food is SO WORTH IT! If you like some extra zip, make sure to ask for a side of the hot sauce. It is not your typical bottled hot sauce!

My daughter buys food from Tropical Eats often, but today was my first time taste testing, I had a little bit of the rice, pinto beans, ox tail and macaroni and cheese 😍Delicious! It has the true flavors of the Caribbean Homemade Cuisine! Highly recommend it. I can savor the heart and soul that was put into cooking this meal. Congratulations! Keep up the great work! Hidden gem! We were surprised to find this little spot with totally excellent Caribbean and Latin food. The oxtail & goat curry were both tasty and they had some vegetarian options too, like a really delicious chickpea potato curry. Bonus: the staff is super friendly! They added chairs to one of the tiny tables out in front of the restaurant so we could 'dine in' because their back patio was closed (and there's no indoor seating). Definitely get some roti with your meal and try the flan for dessert.

It’s small but warm and welcoming restaurant. They had Caribbean dishes like white rice, goat curry, beans, Yuka etc. One thing, the meal was tasty. My husband was going to order takeouts. My very picky son, enjoyed his meal.

I will not be going back here, ordered food here a couple times in the past and it lacked flavor. Last night was the worst experience of them all(yes I decided to give them one more shot). My curry goat needed some salt, the Patties were stale, empanadas needed some help as well. I am from the Caribbean myself and the food here is just not a good representation of island food. The fact that they gave me Patties that were obviously sitting in the store for maybe a day or two is just down right unacceptable. If you are looking for authentic Caribbean or Spanish food, there are much better options in the area.

Every time we come home from trucking this is our first stop! Excellent Trinidad and Puerto Rican mix of food selections. Very authentic and delicious! Next time we will remember to take photos. Lol!

I'm from Greensboro N.C. and I happened to be passing through Stroudssburg. While I was driving a sign that read Tropical Eats caught my eye. I doubled back and went to inquire about the establishment to find that it was a restuarant specializing in West Indian and Latin Cuisine !!!! I couldn't resist to limit myself with just one option for my entree so I chose three ! I had the West Indian fried rice along with Oxtail, Roasted Chicken, and the absolute BEST tasting Meatloaf I ever had in my life !!!! BERY PLEASED and THANK YOU !!!! P..
