Tropical Express

I found this place on tiktok and it was 2 minutes from my house and it is a hidden gem a million percent...I've been multiple times since the first time and have not been disappointed...I even asked them to make something that wasn't on the menu and it turned out great (ask for an Arnold Palmer with straberry)...very welcoming family owned business and the food is addictive...you have to wait until after 2pm for the rib sandwich which is smoked on site and pulled off the grill when it's ordered...try anything on the menu and you'll be hooked too...

Babyyyy let me tell y’all something ,, I was at the doctor looking for a burger place on my google map,, and seen this place ,, look at the reviews , the pictures and self said ,, try them out,, so I did and omg ,, the shave slushes is off the chain ,, The shrimp boudin egg roll blow me away,,, I really love those,, there very addictive, omg ,, and got home try the Double meat cheeseburger,, it is smashing ,,, baby I will be back very soon ,, there lady is so nice that prepares the food and stuff,, thank y’all for making my day!!!!😍😍😍😍😍

This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood. Don't let the older building make you doubt trying this place! Burgers are amazing! It's definitely a hidden competition for the burger joints chain.

Just had an incredible meal that felt like a taste of home! Every dish is perfect, like something my grandmother would make. From start to finish, each item was packed with flavor and love. The service was also top-notch, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for amazing, comforting food and warm, attentive service!

Great spot for comfort food. Portions were big and the shaved ice was great with lots of syrup. I would suggest to rewrite the prices since it was hard to read.

I ordered the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls there was no cheese inside the egg roll. The boudin balls were good though.

This is probably the 2nd place I found in houston that has snowballs that remind me of being back home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The flavor was so sweet and yummy. It was soaked in juice. The ice was so soft! Prices are great. Service is solid. We pulled up right before close (I hate doing that) and they still served us. It's ducked off in a neighborhood. We didn't have issues parking in the street. There is enough seating at well. It's outside and in a neighborhood so I don't have much to say about the ambiance, but i definitely want to go back to the try the food!

Houston's hidden gem! They offer so many selections whether you want food or a sno-ball.

The staff is super friendly when ordering over the phone and when picking up in person. The food was hot and fresh and ready when I arrived. I had the Turkey burger and it was great! Honestly you couldn't really tell that it wasn't beef. The fries where good and they provided the seasoning on the side which is nice for some people who are watching their salt intake. I could have used an extra one though lol. Th e strawberry lemonade is always good I drank that to the last drop. It reminds me of a lemon berry slush from the popular chain fast food spot. It was delicious as always.

This place is such a vibe There's SO many flavors to choose from and even more options of food and snacks as well. My boyfriend and I went to get something to cool us off in this 100° today and ended up getting two burger combos and two snow cones..then came BACK for more cones that evening. I never do this. The burgers were cooked perfect and full of flavor and tender. The prices also are so affordable: these in the picture were only $4! Other snow cone places are half the size and like $5-8. I'll absolutely be back and will tell everyone about this spot

I love this place! It's off the grid but the burgers are next to none in Houston. I've been going here for about 5 years now and hope they will remain around for years to come.

There food is amazing it's always good and there's always a lot of food. The service is great they recommend things to you but everything is good to me every time I go. There's a lot of choice to choose from to fried food, burgers and they even server snow cones.

Great staff an Customer service food made fresh an hot to order. It's made quick not skimming on the portions either great taste and seasoned well. I love there burgers fries hotdogs egg rolls drinks it's just so much I have not tried yet and look forward to.

1st time visit The catfish combo plates have nice size fish portions, tasted fresh and hot. The shaved ice syrup has a really good flavor.

Has Good food but never open and they don't follow their online hour', says it close at 7 but they stop taking orders at 5:45 very lazy establishment

Omggg I love this place. Pork chop sandwich is amazing and the ice is perfect! I highly recommend adding Condensed milk to your snow cone.

Heard from a client to try this place. It's off the beaten path in a neighborhood. Great burger. I got the single....(was told not to pony up to the double meat). It was loaded with all the trimmings. There is just something about a juicy burger! They have something called a boudin ball egg roll. It's pretty righteous.

Everything on the menu is good especially their slush ice burgers and pork chop sandwich. They can just lay up a little on the chili when it comes to the nachos but amazing food it is !

It was sooo good. I had me the turkey burger, chili cheese fries and a Boudain ball. It is kind of in the middle of a neighborhood but it's very clean and cute.

I stumbled upon this place purely by accident & I must say I've made it a point to go by any chance I get..mind you it's really about 30 minutes out of my usual way but dammit they worth it..from the $1 (nice) size snow cones to the extraordinary tasting burgers & frito pies..this place is the "Ish"..& their prices will not leave your pockets dented..

I tried this place for the first time today on my lunch break with a friend. I was very pleased. The boudin balls were huge and very tasty. I got the boudin ball combo, it came with fries and a drink and the sauce that came with it was very tasty. It was only $6.00 and I was very satisfied. I'll be back for sure. I'll take pictures next time. I ate it so fast that I forgot to take them lol.

My family and I visited Tropical Express and ordered hamburgers and boudin balls. The food was great and the environment was warm and welcoming. This is arguably the best hamburger I've ever had and hands down the best boudin balls!!! They also have snow cones, ice cream, chicken sandwiches, Frito pies, hot dogs, BBQ and so much more! The prices are great too, boudin balls cost $1.50 each and we got a hamburger, fries and a drink for $7! If your ever looking for delicious homemade food you have to check out this place! I hear the pork chop sandwiches are to die for too!!

Burgers are huge and delicious! Today was my second time going within a week. My aunt urged me to try this place and I was not disappointed! Matter fact, I may go back tomorrow!

This place is reminiscent of Red Wagon. The food is delicious!! My coworkers and I first tried it on Wednesday and have ordered food from there 3 days straight! It's so addictive! I tried their Turkey burger on the first day, and it was totally awesome! Best Turkey burger that I've ever had! Since yesterday, I've been ordering their chop beef combo non-stop. That sandwich screams foodgasm! I've never had a chop beef sandwich that fantastic in my entire life, and I mean that! The peach cobbler is pretty good as well. Please don't sleep on Tropical Express. You won't regret it!

I went today with my two co-workers. We ordered some boudin balls combos and the turkey burger combo. Everything was delicious. The burger was seasoned just right. The patty was juicy and cooked to perfection.The boudin balls just as good. The seasoning was very flavorful and abundant in size. I will definitely be back as will my co-workers. We brought back three more meals and the office raved so much they will be going back tomorrow. What a great hidden treasure to find at Acres Homes. I work all over the city and must say that Tropical Express has some of the best tasting home-made food.

Turkey burger and fries are better than any beef burger I've ever eaten. The seasoning is PERFECT! The best part is that you feel that great kind of full, not the gross kind of full. Amazing!

A co-worker brought me a boudin ball from Tropical Express yesterday and it was so good I had to go and get some more today. They are amazing. I hear the burgers are great as well but it will be a while before I can bring myself to try anything else because the boudin balls are big and delicious. Well worth the stop if in the area (or the drive if not!) and if it is a nice day you can stay and eat in the covered area with tables and chairs which was clean and well kept. Prices great and staff welcoming!
