Tropical Smoothie Cafe

The smoothie was super fresh and perfectly blended. The staff was very friendly and the environment was really good and pleasant. The food was delicious too. I would highly recommend it.

I catered from Tropical Smoothie twice over the weekend, and it was wonderful! Patel was very responsive and was able to deliver the large order to wherever I needed. He labeled each order and delivered it on time. Highly recommend!

7:58 pm, i came in my gf, to try smoothies. The staff ( 2 girls & a guy) working there were friendly. We got the smoothies they recommended us, mango monsoon & the bahama mama, they were made in quick succession. Cafe is really clean, i would recommend students to come down here for calm studies. I would also recommend this location to my friends & my family members. 10/10

I've always had problems with this location (placing hot food and cold bowls in the same bag on top of each other, not swapping the sweetener as I asked, etc.) Usually, they try to fix it. This time, not so much. Got there before close, but they were trying to rush us out. Starting shutting off lights 15 minutes before close to tell us we had to go. Also, they didn't want to honor our coupons for free smoothie bowls. Said they were "out of stock," even though you could literally see them in the fridge from the order station. They at least made my friend's smoothie when I asked about it (they weren't going to because the "system shouldn't have accepted it" because it was 10 before close, even though she was there in the store - took them less than 2 minutes to do it). I'll give them some credit for that, I guess.

First time trying Tropical Smoothie Cafe. Other than my acai bowl being 90% granola and 10% anything else, there was an employee (short and hispanic girl) with a really bad attitude. I tried to be nice to her and smile maybe seeing as she had a bad day but she just had a bad attitude. Along with my order I asked for a cup of water which I didn’t receive with my order. When I walked to the counter to ask for it she made a comment under her breath and then had an attitude again giving it to me. I get we all have bad days and are human, but don’t take it out on your customers.

Wow I tried calling this store ahead of time about 10 minutes before I arrived and they didn’t want to pick up the phone. So then one of the girls finally picks up the phone after it rang for like 5 minutes straight and says they can’t take online or over the phone orders, which fine but by the time I get to the the store the drink I wanted could have already been made and all I needed to do was pay. But two younger girls decided to be snotty and not take my order when I arrived which she could have told me over the phone on my way over. Customer service is horrible but hey what’s new

Love this place. Healthy clean eats and the smoothies are always worth it especially the green fat burned. The points system also is a great way to gain free items. I’ve visited multiple locations even in different states and their service and food is always good.

Ordered a breakfast wrap with sausage egg and cheese, and a detox green smoothie. The wrap was ok. It ate kind of dry and needed a sauce or salsa. The detox green smoothie is one of my favorites and very refreshing.

It's a fairly okay Smoothie King-like spot. Inside were three fairly uninterested employees and a large menu of drinks with too many choices. I got one of their green detox smoothie drinks, which ended up in the $8 range. Tried to avoid the overly sweet drinks and something healthier; the drink pretty much tasted like ginger and was fine. Overall, meh.

My go-to spot for lunch and smoothies! The staff is excellent and friendly. I love their smoothies because they are not too sweet or sugary! The wraps are great!

There are times when I'm craving a smoothie and this is the closest option. They're not insanely amazing BUT I've never had any issues with mobile ordering and swiftly picking up inside. On the most recent trip, I got the açaí bowl and the fruit was all fresh!

This is a convenient location but the service is horrible to be honest. The staff is unprofessional and super slow and does not care about attentiveness towards customers. They need to do a better job at hiring and look at other stores in the Houston area that have better customer service.

The yogurt and granola bowl was a little smaller than I was expecting, but still delicious. The smoothies are always high quality. The staff could be a little more friendly and welcoming. The store itself is clean and well-kept.

First time trying this place and there was a hair in my buffalo wrap. Doesn't seem very sanitary.

I enjoy the Smoothies, especially the island green detox smoothie. My review is regarding the fact that the workers open this place super late, so I can never catch them open at 7am omw to work. I also can't catch them at at 8:30 omw home from the gym. It's pretty ridiculous. Google shows their business hours at 7am -9pm. I called at 8:45 and the girl working there said that they like to be going home at 9 so they close to the public early to clean up. What is happening with customer service these days? How is it okay for a business to advertise online hours but actually work on a sched that is more convenient for the workers..

CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCK! Just gonna leave it like that. The staff act as if they don't wanna be in there. Walked in, was there 5 minutes no one asked me if I wanted to order, so I downloaded the app & ordered. I PROMISE I WILL NEVER COME BACK & it's dirty in there. And......trash all outside. Horrible curbside appeal.

Absolutely disgusting. I ordered a Baja chicken wrap from here through DoorDash. I ate the first half of my wrap, unimpressed because it was bland. When I went to eat the second half, I noticed something unusual and I tore this piece of to examine it. I really hoped that this was one of the beans, but unfortunately not. It was a disgusting-looking bug. A beheaded one. I lost my appetite. I called the restaurant to let them know about this and they didn't answer, so I just posted a review on Google. They finally called me back and the person that answered must have been the owner, Swapnil Patel. He told me to send him the picture. He said that it looked planted and that this has never happened before. I didn't take too kindly that he was accusing me of this. I was at work. Didn't have time for any of this. I told him that it was reddish, but he said this was black. So he was going back and forth just not trying to take any accountability or make it right. Then he tried to suggest that if I didn't do it, it could have been my DoorDash driver. Absolutely ridiculous just because he couldn't take any accountability. Then he just said thank you ma'am and hung up.

Amazing quick food and amazing service by new owners. Make this place your go-to for healthy on the go snacks that actually offer nutrition instead of wasted calories. I've been going here for years and while the food has remained the same great quality, it's the new management that rounds out the perfect formula!

I went to this TSC location for the free smoothie promotion for national flip-flip day. The promotion was simple (or at least should've been): wear flip-flops, receive a free 12oz smoothie to kick off summer. I show up and was promptly informed that the "flip-flops" that I was wearing are not considered "flip-flops" and are more precisely classified as "sliders" because they are completely "open-toed", therefore, I am ineligible for the free 12 oz smoothie. I understand that it is a free item promotion, but the fact that you are arguing with customers on what is considered a "flip-flop" or not is a bit ridiculous in my opinion. Needless to say, I think I'll take my business to a competitor that won't care what shoes I wear.

Very disrespectful staff. I tried to get a 2nd cup holder, as I've done many times with no issue, and a male employee that was here today was very rude about it. He didn't even respond to the question the first time. Very disappointed in his attitude, as I asked nicely and expressed my concern. I don't get why you would be rude to someone and they ask a simple question. Steer clear of this tropical smoothie Café. Maybe go to Jamba or smoothie king where they have more respect.:-) Remember, it costs nothing to be nice!!!

This Bowl is almost 12 bucks with Tax and Where is the Chia Pudding it was hardly any in there. if I wanted fruit and granola I would've just bought that!! I ask the lady and she said that's how they come smh

*Sad face* it's a hot Texas summer day and my son and I were looking forward to a delicious cold smoothie. We go in and each order what we want, excited to taste the flavors of mango, pineapple ginger and kale. The menu looks so colorful, we can't wait to try it. Oh disappointment... $18 later and no flavor at all. Our smoothies taste more like ice than any of the tropical fruits we selected. It appears they're cutting corners and not adding the actual portions of the fruit we're paying for. At least the portions are large so we did get a whole lot of ice... You had one job Carl.... ‍ Do not recommend.

On the drive home the other day I saw they had not just smoothies, but also sandwiches. That night I received a local paper in the mail that had a coupon for an entree and a smoothie for $7 (great deal!). I decided to stop by on Friday for an afternoon snack. I went with a Sunshine smoothie (pretty good) and the buffalo chicken wrap (tasted fresh and delicious). The wrap came with a side, I went with the apple kale salad. The salad was tasted decent, but extremely small proportion. Will I go back? For sure. Definitely will go back soon to try one of their other wraps or paninis .

Tropical Smoothie is a great when it comes to good tasting food and smoothies. Customer service is a whole different ball game. (Just this location) This is the only location I've come to where the place refuses restroom to paying customers, instead they put a sign that says restrooms are closed. Second the employees refuse to pick up the phone. I been coming to this location for the past year and nothing has changed. The employee said they do not answer the phone because no one is on the other end. I called a few times prior to arrival and it just rang through, there was no pick up. Place could do so much better with a few changes.

I am a very big fan of smoothies and I was curious to try this place out. I got the Hurricane smoothie which was delicious. I enjoyed the tropical flavors. They only have 1 size so if you want less, that is not an option here. But the 1 size is a lot of smoothie to drink so I think it is worth the price. There aren't as many flavors as Jamba, but I do like that they have plenty of add in options (i.e. pea protein, whey, etc) and a lot of pineapple in their drinks, since I'm a big fan of pineapple. The baristas are efficient and I got my smoothie very quickly after ordering. This is a good place to go to when you are craving a simple smoothie.

The smoothies are my fav and I drive 15 mins away just to get tropical smoothie cafe over competitors but no I will no longer be a consumer at this location. There's always an issue or excuse and it really tampers with my experience.

Why is it every single time I come here no matter who's working they always have a attitude... like nobody greets you, nobody asks you how you're doing , hell she didn't ask me "what can I get for you today?" the girl rang up my order and didn't say nothing , didn't tell me how much it was just staring at me so I just gave her money. Walked off and didn't say anything just sat my drink down. The last time I was here the dude gave me my drink with a whole ass attitude and didn't say anything . Idk what type of bad energy is at this tsc but it's weird

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I had an epiphany late Sunday afternoon to stop being a fat bum and start living a healthy lifestyle...that was my first mistake. First stop of this "new me" was trying a green detox smoothie at this place. I arrived at 2:35pm and was one of the the only customers in the store. I placed an order for my smoothie by 2:37, which I did not get until 3:03pm. 26 minutes for ONE smoothie...are you kidding me? The girl employee making my smoothie looked like she had no idea what she was doing and kept asking the owner for help, which is probably what took so long. Finally, after what felt like hours, my smoothie was ready but it was literally thicker than a bowl of oatmeal!!! It wouldn't even pour into the glass, which took an additional 5-6 minutes because she had to call the owner for help AGAIN. Once I FINALLY got my smoothie, it was only 7/8th filled because the employee was having such a hard time pouring it out that a lot of it fell on the counter. This place doesn't offer different sizes so you can only chose from the one size which cost me almost $7. I don't mind the high price because I know fresh smoothies usually are a bit expensive, however, if I'm paying $7 I expect my glass to be completely full. Lastly, after waiting 26 min and paying $7...my smoothie tasted like CRAP. I'm not even being bias due to my everything that happened prior but I can genuinely say this was one of the worst smoothies I've ever had. I would not recommend this place to anyone nor will I ever be back.

The girl at the front told they don't take cash which is understandable but I've been here 5 days in a row and this was my 2 smoothie of this day and they took cash every other time so they need to come up with a better system because wtf lol

I tried Tropical Smoothie Cafe after going rock climbing nearby. The space is small, limited seated, and is clean and bright. There is a really nice assortment of smoothies, from light and fruity to creamy and rich. They also have a couple of wraps. I tried the Acai Berry Boost and the Detox Island Green, both of which were great. A few of my dining mates had some of the wraps, which they enjoyed. I really liked Tropical Smoothie Cafe. It is great for a quick meal or a jolt after a workout. I would definitely return if in the area again!

I've only ever had Smoothie King but my daughter recommended this cafe and I just have to say mind blowing! The customer service was great, kind young ladies helped me pick a mango flavored smoothie. This cafe is the healthy alternative to smoothie king, so much more natural tasting without too much sugar. Great for those with a sensitive pallet.

Yummm I like these darn smoothies so much! Very healthy and always fresh options, you can't go wrong with the fact that they offer happy hour prices as well. The food selection is healthy too if you want to grab a healthy snack, but my go to are the smoothies. Greens are always great options and I could almost come to this place everyday if I had more time on my hands! See you soon tropical smoothie.

Im annoyed to say that this place has gone down bad. The last 3x I've been here it's been bad experience. The employees have been rude, and the food has been bland. We paid for extra chicken in our wraps An got extra rice . The chicken just tasted like it had no flavor. Then our smoothies had no flavor or sweetness. It tasted like ice An blended fruit. Then the employees have given me attitude about parking for curbside, but there's been times we're we park there An no one comes out an I have to go inside. So?? Idk ‍ I think I'm done eating here for a bit..

Just ok. We got the mango magic, and the sunrise sunset. Both seemed to have more ice than fruit but they're not too expensive and the portions were pretty large. Considering that it's not terrible. Dogs thought it smelled 5/5!

Dunno what it was but I just had to spit out my one bite of this Thai chicken wrap...and I'm starving so I have to go and find something else to eat also. &10+ into a trash cup! Thankfully I had an empty cup in the car to spit out the rancid food...that I had to wait 10 mins for also. You'd think it'd be nice and fresh... but unfortunately no and I won't be coming back here again. Staff also didn't seem very happy to be working there. Maybe they know about the rancid food that's being served? :( unhappy and HANGRY... Had to stop by Starbucks for food that has always served me when I don't have much time to waste. Not rancid either and Stopped my hunger. I'm a repeat customer for them since no matter what location, I've never had rancid items. If they are out of something they will tell me not to order it. Like how they were out of kiwi pieces and asked if I was ok with substitution of something else

This is the worst location. Everytime I order there's something wrong with my order, smoothies are not of good quality (too watered down) and took an hour from placing my order to actually receive 2 smoothies! Once tasting smoothies and seeing it's just liquid, I ask for it to be remade and that's against policy since I drank some of it, how else would I know there something wrong?! Please do not waste your money on this headache of a location.

I've been ordering from Tropical Smoothie Cafe via DoorDash. So no comments on the physical location here. You can order a meal combo that includes a sandwich/ salad, smoothie, and a side. My favorite sandwiches here are the Chipotle Chicken and the Buffalo Chicken. Either the wrap or flat bread. I'm personally not a fan of the salad. As for smoothies, Peaches and Silk is my go-to favorite. It has peaches, strawberries, and a banana in it. Depending on the day/person making it, it may taste like just strawberries and bananas. The meal comes with a side option of fruit. You'll get one of God's greenest bananas. I ordered dinner from there 5 days ago and still haven't eaten my banana. Currently taking bets on what date this thing will be ready - anyone in?

Alright. I usually give a place a couple of opportunities to redeem themselves before I write a poor review, so I did just that and I have been disappointed every time I've come to this location. They either get my order wrong, didn't make it at all causing me to wait 20 minutes on my food, or just slap the food together sloppily and/or incorrectly. No more chances - this location sucks. Today, specifically, they sloppily prepared my order. If I wanted a chicken and cheese wrap I'd order it. I ordered a BUFFALO chicken wrap. Where is the buffalo sauce? Disappointing. However! Smoothies are always good, which is why they get 2 stars instead of one.

I had the mango smoothie and the tropical one. They gave me a huge cup! Kept me going for like 2 hours. The mango smoothie is the best in my opinion but they have a lot to choose from and they make it in front of you, and fast! I really liked this place Will continue to tame my business here

This location is the absolute worse location! It's never functioning properly! It's 2:28pm right now on a Friday and they're closed! This isn't the first time I've came during "business hours" and the business was closed or staff were in the back so long till i left .... Just close down atp 0 stars if i could!

This place doesn't even deserve one star! Unfortunately, but THANKFULLY I did not get a chance to try to food due to its poor sanitation. My girlfriend and I went there for lunch at 1:40pm and ordered two smoothies and a wrap. Around 2:10pm(Yes, 30 mins later) he hands us the wrap. As we were still waiting on the wraps we saw the manager, Chinedu Ekwenibe, making other wraps, touching the phone & the register using the same gloves he's using to prepare the food. This is a big NO, especially during this pandemic of COVID-19. My girlfriend politely approached the manager around 2:20pm(still no smoothies) and asked if he could remake our wrap using a new set of gloves as we seen him using the same gloves and touching everything. He immediately got defensive, started raising his voice, and refused to remake our food. At this point we just decided to cancel every and get a refund, but he wasn't going for that. He accused us of lying on him and said that he does not give refunds. So around 2:30pm after arguing with the absolute worst rude and aggressive manager, we decided to just leave without anything and just took a $21.08 loss. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS LOCATION!! The manager, Chinedu Ekwenibe, is rude, unprofessional, unsanitary, disrespectful, and does not value his customers. I urge you not to support this place, as I will never spend my money at an establishment like this. **I hope they don't just reply with the same copy & paste response that they sent everyone else. I really hope someone can address & correct this issue**

My boyfriend and I were craving a smoothie and decided to come here (we live down the street and have been here once or twice). Typically they're very slow so we usually come here when we have plenty of time. This time we were excited to come and showed up at 4:30pm. When we tried to come in, they were closed, all lights off, and chairs put up. It seems like they are closed often since someone wrote ALWAYS above their closed sign on the exterior of the window in sharpie. Their hours say one thing but the store says another. I'm sure the owners would be disappointed to see that they are loosing customers!

This place is under new management since May & the guys working there are awesome! Fresh ingredients always, friendly, clean, & generous when adding fruit. This place is BY FAR my favorite smoothie place in Houston because they don't cover their product in sugar - It is available if you want to add it though. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Blimey Limey is delicious (no turbinado)!

Love this place!! I've been going there for a year now and I love it. Great service. Manager is really nice. She is always suggesting me different smoothies or delicious food they have. Place looks very clean. Service is fast and I always leave happy with my smoothie. There is a large variety and all of them are to die for. I definitely recommend this place.

Stopped to get a blimey limey & didn't taste it before I left. Got home & it tasted disgusting. It wasn't a blimey limey bc I know what that smoothie tastes like. Called the store & asked could I bring them back bc it's not the right smoothie. He refuses as well as the manager even after he had said they possibly switched mine with someone else's. so I hung up reported the store on the website & im leaving a bad review. My money is not to be played with!

VERY PREJUDICE staff!!! The manager is incredibly rude. They treat people of color horribly. Worst experience ever at this location. Service was also very slow.

Pro: very reasonable prices for large smoothies. Con: reasonable prices because there doesn't seem to be much fruit in it. Don't get me wrong, Tropical Smoothie Cafe is better than Smoothie King. I ordered the Sunrise Sunset, but it just lacks flavor. It tastes like watered down version of a smoothie. If it had more fruit (or even just less ice and smaller size) , it would probably taste great! Next time I'll spend an extra couple bucks and go to Juiceland or something.

My dad and I ordered the same smoothie and when we got home they both had almost no flavor. guessing they only put one smoothies worth of ingredients and put ice in to fill ithe blender up. was hoping the new management would be better but that isn't what we experienced today.

Great restaurant! Excellent menu, great food and good service! Ambience is nice, owner is engaging and staff provides good customer service. A neighborhood gem for clean tasteful healthy eating!

My favorite smoothie place! I was introduced to this place in Dallas, and was so excited to find that they have locations in Houston, as well. I haven't had any smoothies other than the Avocolada, because it's that good. As far as food, I've only tried the Caribbean jerk chicken wrap--it's pretty good, but has some pineapple in it which makes it sweeter than I thought. If you like that, you'll love it, but I probably wouldn't get it again. 5 stars for the Avocolada alone. I think they could do a little more marketing about their newest location--most people don't know that it exists.

Love the variety of food and smoothie selections they have! I always get something from this spot after the gym, hits the spot every time. I didn't mention that they deliver food in a timely manner! The manager is so helpful and knowledgeable about the food items and smoothie items, staff is very friendly! I highly recommend this spot!

Lots of healthy options - the menu is quite extensive: variety of smoothies, wraps, quesadillas, and sandwiches. Portion sizes are just right. Competitive pricing. Already one of my favorite neighborhood spots.
