Tropicales is a trendy cafe in the heart of Chapinero with a lively vibe. The menu yields a fusion mix of middle eastern with traditional Colombian dishes such as poached eggs with yogurt (labneh) or Shakshouka … The wait staff was more focused on turning table tops and even before we finished the meal the waitress placed the invoice on the table even though we wished to order deserts and another coffee. It seemed very pushy to get us to leave the restaurant as they repeated the desire to charge us 4 times, and it is not the traditional Colombian style. Prices are reasonable. As stated, We were fortunate to arrive early 8:30am) but when we left there was a queue of 12-15 people waiting to get in and the restaurant was full.

Ended up being three times here within two weeks and this being my favourite cafe in Bogota. Let me explain why. Surely hyped place, as it won different prices and apparently best Cafe in LATAM. I am often doubting awards, but still wanted to check it out. Let's start with Atmosphere: Interior Design is on point. So on point, I asked ChatGPT what kind of design that is. According to OpenAI, it's a modern, minimalistic nature and material mix. The important point here though: It's not only well crafted, but after entering and being there for a small while, you forgot how outside looks like - very inviting to not only join, but stay for a while. Second, staff. Friendly, attentive, helpful. Know their things about cafe. 5/5. Last but maybe most important: Coffee and Food. Coffee was very good, I bought some for home. Over my time/stays I had multiple flat whites and some iced cappucinos. Both, super recommendable (but watch out with the Flat White, my head was buzzing for quite a while - strong). A friend fell in love with the Hot Chocolate of theirs. Food wise I had a Energy bowl (good, but not phenomenal) and a Grilled Cheese Sandwhich (really good). If you're into speciality coffee, this is your place in Bogota. Can't wait to come back.

Before our first visit, we read several negative reviews and went there willing to get our own impression. The interior decor is beautiful, their dishes are great and their coffees are fantastic. Finally, another place in Bogotá where to drink good, specialty coffee. On the way out we spoke to Ulises, their manager, to provide this feedback. We will come back soon.

We went back two days in a row for breakfast and bought bags of beans on the spot. Two things I wouldn't normally do! This cafe is great. It's well-designed, the coffee is excellent and packs flavour, and the beans themselves are unique (you'll have to read up on the options when you visit). The service is pleasant and consistent with Colombia - As in, you might need to wave someone down if you want anything more, but they are attentive to your requests. The prices are also quite fair for Bogotá's Zona T. A problem I'm going to have is when I run out of beans... I guess I'll be returning to Colombia.

The best coffee in bogota! No need to elaborate, everything was amazing on the 3 times I’ve been there - The coffee, the food , the staff and especially and chilled vibe and atmosphere.

Tropicalia is a cool coffee shop — also great for brunch and breakfast. I started with an espresso made from a Geisha bean, which felt almost like too sad to use for espresso. Espresso was not perfect for such a beautiful Marzocco!! Then I had a Bourbon filter coffee, which was actually quite nice. Alongside that, I had an avocado toast with a poached egg and some feta cheese. Very nice overall. Cool design!!

Was really looking forward to visit this place after seeing it rank #10 in the world’s best coffee shops. Pour over coffee was good, however like many others have said the service wasn’t friendly or attentive and this ruined what a great coffee shop it could be.

Nice place, great feeling, prices are ok. Light is a little low, but in general it's quite good.
