The 23 Best Restaurants in Amsterdam, the Netherlands | Eater

"Tropico draws a crowd of assorted South Americans from across the Netherlands to Amsterdam West for its ceviches, empanadas, and other Colombian specialties. The Bandeja Paisa, with chicharrón, chorizo, and mince, is a meat-lover’s feast, but there are also vegetarian options. As a resto-bar, it can get a little loud in the evenings, with Colombian musicians, live soccer games, and even karaoke, but that’s all part of the experience. Keep an eye out for specials like chicharrón sushi. Know before you go: Make sure to bring cash." - Katharine Khamhaengwong

I’m Colombian and came here hoping to enjoy a bit of home — and overall, it was a really nice experience! The food wasn’t fantastic, but it was tasty and comforting. For Colombians living abroad, this place is definitely a little treasure. We ordered a dish similar to Bandeja Paisa, with rice, beans, pork belly, fried plantain, and avocado — very flavorful and well served. The maracuyá juice was super refreshing and delicious! The only thing that could be improved was the steak, which was a bit tough and not as juicy or seasoned as we usually have it in Colombia. The portions were generous, the service was kind, and the atmosphere felt cozy and familiar. I’d happily come back to try more dishes and enjoy another maracuyá juice! 🇨🇴✨

First time Columbia food, so good! Definitely will come again. The waiter was warm and offered us to try Pony Malta with milk. Super chill place!

The food was very authentic and delicious. It was quite a busy place. We ordered two starters and two main courses, and it was a lot of food. The portions were really huge. The dorado fish was very delicious. The coconut rice that came with the fish was very flavorful. The patacones and steak with chimichurri were very good as well. The price is quite reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Went for the steak (fries) and dorada (fried fish). Both very nice, and surprisingly different and tasty than other places. The atmosphere is nice, and there seems to be a good level of authenticity. Would certainly go back! The lady serving us was very kind and attentive
