Trotta's Pizza Drive Thru

Google
We have been ordering from Trotta's for years but the last couple of times it was not the same. This past order was horrible! Their pizza has changed along with the ownership. Their sauce is a replica of Poppa John's, there were hardly any toppings on it. We ask for a small box to give our son a few pieces and the guy gave us a box we had to put together, and wouldn't give us a receipt. I have to say Poppa John's is better and Less expensive! Will Not be ordering from Trotta's Again!

Google
Just picked up a 14” thin crust with my choice of veggies. Crust is burned, bottom of pizza is burned. What is going on here? You had the best pizza in Cincinnati!

Robert W.

Google
They seriously need to change the name. I have eaten eaten Trottas pizza for over 25 years and always gotten the Lotta Trotta for get togethers, well I haven't had it for over 3 years and stopped in and got one 3 days ago. It should now be called the "Notta Trotta" crust different, sauce different, hardly any toppings, greasy, it was terrible, a $42 terrible pizza. I will not be back, new owners have desicrated the name Trottas. So sad. Oh and Trottas sausage was awesome, the crap they used was not even close.

Google
I grew up in Cincinnati and before I moved away there was a delicious thick (almost cake thick) crust Trotta’s Pizza. I was in town visiting and spotted this Trotta’s the logo was very similar from the one I remembered. THIS IS NOT the Trotta’s I remembered. I ordered a pepperoni that is not what I got. It was a thin-ish crust generic pizza that fell bellow the quality of most cheap frozen pizza’s. Obviously I would not recommend it. But why do they try so hard to pass themselves off as the original? I feel like I’ve been scammed. I guess

Google
They really do need to change their name. My pizza had literally no sause on the hot wing pizza. It was like half eaten because we were hosting a party and the guests didn’t know, we kept having people come up and say the sause just wasn’t there. We came up to the drive thru with the pizza and the guy INSISTED they made it right while I’m looking at just straight cheese and bread. He ended up giving us a large pizza (we originally bought a lotta trotta) because we “ate half of it”. But I’m paying 40 something dollars for a mid, dry pizza. What “hot wing” pizza comes with supposedly clear sause? Ide give a photo but they took the pizza, so just imagine greasy blank crust i suppose. Dissapointed with how much Trottas fell off with the new owners.

Google
this was the first ever drive in pizza place i’ve seen! the employees were very nice and patient with my bf and i, the pizza came out quick and it looked amazing when we opened the box. the taste is absolutely amazing, my bf and i ate it so fast and we’re definitely coming here again!!!

I have been going to Trottas for over 35 years. When Dave sold the business a year or 2 ago there was an immediate decline in the quality. The dough was the most obvious change for the worse but there was just enough of the good taste left to keep me coming back. NO MORE! I typically order what's known as a pre-bake or half baked pizza, and finish it in my oven at home. When I arrived to pick up the pizza I discovered it that was almost fully baked and also cut which would make it impossible to finish on my oven rack at home without a pan which I do not have. I explained this to them and requested that they remake the pizza. The staff member proceeded to ARGUE with me and said I needed to tell them in advance not to cut pizza, AND that I could bake an already cut pizza on an oven rack with no problem. He also REFUSED to remake the pie. Incidentally this was not the first time they have screwed this order up. Back in the day when Dave Trotta ran the establishment this mistake was made on occasion and he would apologize and give me another pizza with his apologies. Not only have these people ruined a fine West Side pizza tradition, their customer service is the worst.

Google
We ordered the Lotta Trotta for a birthday party, and it was just as delicious as always! It had good amounts of toppings and cheese, and that sausage is so good! It was correct and on time, and I didn't even have to get out of my car to pick it up. How can you beat that? Tried to get a pic of the whole thing, but the birthday boy was faster.

Yelp
Trotta's is a drive through (literally through the building) pizza and corner market spot. They're at the corner of Werk and Glenway and super easy to stop in to pick up pizza. We ended up ordering online earlier in the day for a 6:45pm pick up and ordered a Lotta Trotta pepperoni pizza, their Lotta Trotta Hoagie with Italian dressing, and their large antipasto salad with Italian. We drove up to pick it up at the designated time and it was ready to go right away, and packaged nicely. The pizza is HUGE. We were bringing this to a family get together and the pizza was the size of two regular pieces and each slice had a generous amount of cheese and pepperoni. It was definitely a hit. The salad was a good size, definitely shareable and enough for a family. The Italian dressing seems house made, but they also gave us packets of premade caesar. The hoagie was a good size and was a good ratio of toppings to bread. It also came with a sauce option and I chose Italian for that as well. I appreciated that they boxed it was a piece of folded cardboard under it to keep the bottom from getting soggy. While you're there you can also pick up sodas, beers, snacks and other items. Overall, I think they offer a great variety of options at a competitive price in the area and are super convenient for pick up or delivery.

Yelp
Watch how much they charge you. This wasn't the first time. I bought 6 single Black & Milds that had 99c on the wrapper and they tried to charge me a $1.35. Then they tried to tell me that it's old packaging. We went back and forth and they were still trying to scam me. I got a refund. I have been going here for decades before the new owners. I told them I'm reporting them and I will never be back. The food is also not as good as it was with the old owners.

Yelp
It was a last minute idea for Father's Day they delivered the tasty pizza within the hour and they were able to complete my additional request by writing Happy Father's Day on it as well
google avatar

Donna W.

Yelp
OMG I ordered a Italian hoagie assuming (and yes I know what it means) it would be like Italian subs you order everywhere you know Italian meats and cheese but no it was a Italian sausage patty with onions and peppers on bad enough it was not what I wanted but both sandwiches the meat was burnt. I've always liked Trottas and haven't eaten there in a while and won't be going back

Laura T.

Yelp
If I could give 0 stars I would. I got a meatball Hoagie, a cheese fry, and a gyro Pizza. THIS WAS SOMEHOW $55. when I got the food it was cold. I knew something was up when three items equaled out to $55 so I called them and they charged me for bud light. I am 19 years old. there was no way I could get bud light if i wanted to. they refused to give me back my money and refuse to give me a receipt for my cold food. I'm so sick of this place.

Yelp
It's no longer the Trotta we know! The new owners changed to a nasty thin crust! The thick Sicilian they advertise is FALSE!

Linda C.

Yelp
One of the best pizzas in the nation. I've lived in Chicago and NYC, Trotta's stands above everything else I've tried. Honorable mention to Lou Malnati's in Chicago, but nothing beats a lotta Trotta. I drive 45 minutes each way when I'm in Ohio for Trotta's. And yes, it's worth it.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
The employees did not understand my order although it was ordered online as half pepperoni and half bacon (you pick left side and right side online). They called me twice to check what the order meant since there seemed to be a language barrier. The order was wrong. I got half pepperoni and bacon on one side and one half cheeae on the other. The pizza does not taste like Trottas used to and appears to be under new ownership.

Mary A.

Yelp
i live out of town and love Trotta's pizza. I will say this I will NEVER buy another one. The crust wasn't done, cheese not melted and the order was wrong. The great taste is gone and the crust super thin.

Rina D.

Yelp
Different owners and can tell. Ordered for Bengals game... Mozzarella and jalapeno poppers cold. Sour cream was chucky. When asked for sauces for the appetizers he gave us Italian dressing. When asked for Fritos bean dip from employee looked at the cans of sauces came back and said he had no idea what is was.

David W.

Yelp
The Trotta family must of sold out. The pizza went from a 5 to terrible. Hardly any Sauce or Cheese ordered extra pepperoni like three pieces on half. Plus pizza was burnt.
google avatar

Steven W.

Yelp
Amazing pizza, hard to beat $5 for 2 slices. The crust is crispy and garlicky, it's amazing!!

T T.

Yelp
Best meat lover pizza minus ham added onions. Yummy!!! Cooked extra crunchy per my request My new go to spot plus I can pick up a beverage too. Save time for me Will order Super Bowl 2023 food from here. Enjoy
google avatar

Anthony T.

Yelp
I have only hit the drive thru for lunch but the pizza was great. I can't wait to try other menu items. I definitely recommend giving them a try. The best pizza I've had so far in Cincinnati.

Jennifer V.

Yelp
I have gotten Lotta Trottas for years. This time it was a thin crust...not the anticipated thick garlic crust. When i called i was told i cannot request the thick galric crust. It was still tasty and garlicy, just a thin crust. Disappointing.

Christopher S.

Yelp
The food is not as good since they were sold. Crust is thinner less toppings and flavor is different
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
We love Trotta's so much. It's one of our family-favorite pizza spots and we feel so lucky it's on the west side! We love the variety of pizza topping options and that you can call ahead to order and drive thru to pick-up without ever leaving the car. It doesn't hurt that they have an amazing beer selection, either. Delicious pizza and nice selection of craft beer - who can say no to this perfect combination?!

70 K.

Yelp
I ordered a large Sicilian pizza last night. I've been a Trotta's customer for 35 years. The pizza was smaller and most importantly thinner. The crust was thin, dense and rubbery. Honestly, Little Caesars has a better thick crust pizza than the "new" Trotta's recipe at a third of the price.
google avatar

Karen L.

Yelp
We ordered two hoagies and mozzarella cheese sticks last night for dinner. We have been loyal Trotta"s customers for years and years. We have never had a bad meal from here. Until now. The hoagie buns were hard, cold and tasteless. They put the end slice of tomato, with a slightly rotten core, on the steak hoagie. They didn't put any onions on the sandwich, despite a request for them. The hoagies were dry, cold and just gross. We asked for mushroom sauce on the steak hoagie and we were given a tiny cup of freezing cold mushroom sauce. The mozzetta sticks were cold, rubbery and a funky color. The guy who served us in the drive thru must of been having a bad day. He was rude and grumpy. Very poor customer service. After wasting $26 dollars, I'm not sure we will ever be going back. We have mostly ordered pizza in the past. Maybe, we'll go back again for that.

Gee M.

Yelp
What happen????? Got the sicilian pizza and was flat and tough going down. New owners must call back the originals to re learn to make. Think maybe they forgot the yeast???
google avatar

Jim P.

Yelp
I ordered a large pizza, half sausage/mushroom/onion and half meat topper. Almost $30. When I got home I had half meat topper, half cheese. Check your order before you leave the store.
google avatar

Logan D.

Yelp
I called to ask if they were taking any special precautions, given the COVID-19 pandemic, and the person on the phone screamed "NO, NO, & NO" and hung up. Regardless of how you feel about the situation, terrible customer service. Won't be eating here ever again!

Jackie S.

Yelp
trotta has been around since i was 13. 51 now...westside sorry to break the news but it is now owned by people from india....it is no longer trottas that we all loved nd graved. you don't believe me go try a slice....sucks. he is cutting cost on all the things trotta never did...they have raised the prices so high...hes buying things from sam's and trying to weed out our long loyal vendnññors....

Cy Rerrr R.

Yelp
Love this place. I've been here several times and have gotten the pizza by the slice --all very large and very tasty It's great to see all of the beer and other drink options while in the drive up. Definitely worth last minute lunch or dinner stop
google avatar

Kathy B.

Yelp
This is hands down my favorite pizza in Cincinnati! Sicilian deep dish deliciousness. Plus, you can get goetta as a topping and it is sooooooo good! Get it with banana peppers or jalapeños. Also, the drive through has a great craft beer selection and you can get pizza BYTHE SLICE! YUmmers.
google avatar

Greg A.

Yelp
Every Monday im drving thru for lunch of one slice pepperoni the other flavor of the day. Unless it has olives. Blaaaaahhhh olives. Love this cheesey and garlic wonderfulness. Greg
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
MUST call in order ahead!!!!! ONLY a drive thru building. VERY quick service. Pizza by the slice available. HUGE selection of beer, both craft and domestic. Wine available.
google avatar

Jeffrey W.

Yelp
Pizza good, customer service, EH!! Ordered a large pepperoni/bacon pie cut pizza, specifically mentioned it several times. Returned home and cut like a checkerboard. Called to voice concern and inform the store of THEIR error and was told "Sorry were closed" I said I just want to make a note on my order. "We're closed" Again, "I want to tell you about my incorrect order" "We're closed" and hang up. I come from Clifton once a week to get Trotta's, and have supported Trotta;s since they were in Delhi by the Main Entrance about 30 years. If this is what you've come to, I think we'll need to go elsewhere. What you say?
google avatar

Patrick C.

Yelp
We love love this pizza! The lotta trotta is perfect for family parties! Goetta or pepperoni or sausage. So good!
google avatar

Ben C.

Yelp
Best pizza in the city no doubt about it Cool drive through even though they best pizza on the west side big pizza for price and fills u up
google avatar

Rob W.

Yelp
I love this place! It's a "drive through the building" drink and snack place. Sort of a 7-11 for people who hate getting out of their car. But you can also order food! To be fair, we have only had the same pizza twice now, but it's their Goetta Pizza! Good lord! It's great! Goetta is a local to Cincinnati thing- oats and meat- usually a breakfast item. When sprinkled over a pizza it becomes a wonderful crunchy meaty pizza topping. You think you won't like it? You are wrong. Try it!
google avatar

Ann P.

Yelp
Yummy pizza, great sauce. It's a drive thru liquor store and pizza store. Why not get a cold six pack and a pizza on your way home?
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
What a great concept! Drive right through to order and pick up pizza! Their menu has other good options including salads and desserts as well for those in your party not wanting pizza ( I wouldn't know why- but just in case). They have a great selection of beer too- lots of local and craft brews! The pizza itself is a bit greasy but overall the crust and sauce are great! Include that with the drive thru convenience and you got yourself a great place on the west side.
google avatar

Casey L.

Yelp
Lotta Trotta - go big or go home. The west side has the gem of pizza in Cincy. Deep dish at its prime - seriously, this pizza could feed a family of 12, and it doesn't skimp out on the flavor and cheesiness. A neat drive-thru to pickup your beer and pizza? What more could you want!!!
google avatar

Becca J.

Yelp
Love Trotta's. I am picking 4 Lotta Trotta's as a "Thank You!' to a hard-working group of life guards and pool staff. We picked our favorites...BLT, BBQ Chicken, Meat Topper and Cheese! Yum! Thank you so much!
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
I just can't stop myself from stopping when it is Bacon pizza day (I think that's Monday.) Drive on through and grab a slice. The lady that works there during the day (I think she's part of the Trotta family) is cool as a cucumber.
google avatar

Marlene F.

Yelp
Though it's the best pizza in Cincinnati. The person that took my order over the phone was rude and very short with me. I was asking a question and he refused to answer just kept repeating the same thing over and over. I was to 10 min for my pizza but when I arrived to pay I was told I had to wait an additional 15 min. I was eating here twice a week but unfortunately I will be taking a break.... it's so sad since I love their pizza....

Chris N.

Yelp
Love the pizza, great beer selection however the woman serving me was not wearing her protective mask correctly. A mask around you neck does no good at all. I'll need to stop going there.
google avatar

nancy d.

Yelp
I am not a la Rosas fan, so was thrilled to discover a great alternative. Hands down some of the best pizza in Cincinnati ( I also live adriaticos) I only wish they delivered to Delhi! It's definitely pricey so we don't eat here too often. We also love the antipasti salad; absolutely packed with meats, olives, pepperoncinis and pickled cauliflower. Yum!
google avatar

Tom J.

Yelp
Love this place. I am so glad it reopened. The pizza has garlicy crust that puts them over the top. You can buy the slice. I like the drive thru.
google avatar

Jay P.

Yelp
This is how pizza is supposed to be. Don't let the other "pizza" companies tell ya otherwise. Real bacon, homemade dough, garlic fingers from a fantasy novel, and their sauce tastes straight from Italia. Plus one of the best beer selections on the west side. Viva la Trotta's!
google avatar

Rob S.

Yelp
Skip Larosas and hit up Trotta. The crust has a hint of garlic and crunchiness to it that put it above and beyond. Don't be frightened that it is a drive through pizza/beer joint. Get a Lotta Trotta pizza and have some friends over!
google avatar

Heather L.

Yelp
Until I moved to Cincy I had never seen drive thru beer places, never mind PIZZA too. I was excited to see they had an Eggplant meatball pizza because eggplant cutlet is something never found in this area. It was a FANTASTIC combo of my two favorites! Perfectly done eggplant cutlet and yummy sliced meatballs. Pretty big so I had leftovers and A+ for how well it reheats! They actually have a lot on their menu including hoagies and salads, even desserts! Can't wait to try more!
google avatar

Ed S.

Yelp
Thick, garlicy crust with lots of spicy sauce and lots of cheese...this is my favorite pizza in the area. They don't skimp on the toppings either. The pizza is so damn good, I've never tried anything else on the menu! Their only location is the drive-thru on the Westside of Cincinnati, so there's no dining in, but it's worth the drive. I'm glad these guys have stuck around. Delicious!

Yelp
Trotta's is easily summed up in one thought for me: tasty pizza but needs operational execution improvement. We rolled in this afternoon with a heavy appetite not knowing what to expect. We pulled into the drive through and were the second car in line. There are no menus posted in the line, yet, when you pull up to the cashier you are expected to order on the spot or are handed a menu and told to pull out of line and lose your order. In our case this would have been five cars. Instead of pulling out of line, we hurriedly placed our order and pulled around to the side if the building where an extremely informal handout process is conducted. On two occasions we witnessed food being handed to the wrong customer (including us) only to then be handed to the right customer. Since we weren't officially told to wait on the side of the building, we pulled back through the drive through area to check on our order status only to be told that it'd still be another minute or two and that we should wait on the side of the building (like others were doing). The food finally came and it was pretty good. I would definitely try he pizza again but i really didn't care for the cheese fingers and wouldn't recommend anyone order them. I think it's a shame that small operational glitches (that are easy corrections) can have a negative impact on a patron's experience but that is certainly he case with Trotta's for me.
google avatar

Robbie G.

Yelp
Trotta's Pizza really has it all...fresh sauce, flavorful and hearty amounts of cheese, nicely seasoned garlicky crust, and very good toppings. I normally get double pepperoni cuz I'm a pepperoni hound. The sausage is good too with bits of fennel seeds in it which I like. The Sicilian is good, but a little too bready for me. I did knock one star because they don't deliver and they can sometimes be inconsistent with their cheese coverage when not getting double cheese (which can be too much at times). They have been better as of late so hopefully that's been addressed. Overall it's a winner though.
google avatar

Beth S.

Yelp
We're local West siders and Friday night is our Trottas pizza night! We like to get a different specialty pizza, small Sicilian every week. Or favorite is the buffalo chicken!
google avatar

Aly S.

Yelp
Growing up, we always used to get the Lotta Trotta at school functions and I wasn't really a fan. The square slices, thick crust and lack of sauce did not tickle my fancy. BUT then one day (after moving away from the west side), I tried a normal sized goetta pizza pie and my faith has been restored in this local pizzeria! Perfect amount of goetta (lots) and the crust is not as thick as the Lotta Trotta. Its the best goetta pizza around! By the way, you can drive thru to get your pizza and beer! Such convenience!

B S.

Yelp
I drove in from Indiana and ordered a Sicilian pizza in route. This was hands down the best pizza that I have gotten in years from Trotta's. It was an 80's throwback of deliciousness. Super saucy and cheesiness, this pizza was the bomb. Keep this up and I will drive in a couple times a month instead of a couple times a year. You need to give a raise to the pizza maker because they are the the best, and to those gals running the drive thru, they earned a bigger raise as they were hustling and so pleasant. You have awesome employees and I can only hope you realize this and reward them. Well done!
