Disney foodies, this is your one stop shop for those baked potato cravings while you're in the park. I stopped by for my first one recently and it was a nice change up from the usual park snacks in Disneyland. I tried the Loaded Baked Potato which had bacon, cheese, butter, chives, and sour cream (which I opted out of). The potato was freshly cooked, though a little underdone for my liking. All toppings noted were on the potato, but I wouldn't describe it as "loaded." Lots of plain, undercooked potato and not enough cheese to get around. *sad face, especially with the price tag attached.*
Our visit to the Troubadour Tavern was on a Friday around lunch, so they were a little busy. I ordered through the mobile order system on the Disneyland app and had trouble finding a time that wasn't over an hour ahead. That usually is a sign a place is slammed. Lots of people love the potatoes here, so I'll attribute the underwhelming experience due to the possibility of the busy lunch rush. When I went to claim my mobile order, there were a ton of people waiting around from both the standby order line and mobile order side. The Cast Members were doing their best to fill orders in a timely manner, but the product definitely suffered as a result. I would give them another try in the future as I know people usually have a good experience here.
The Troubadour Tavern is located at the very end of Fantasyland up by It's a Small World and in front of the Fantasyland Theater. Aside from their infamous Loaded Baked Potato, they are currently offering fare themed to their showing of the Lion King which includes Chermoula Chicken and Rice, a Potato Sambusa, a Chermoula Chicken Baked Potato, and plantains. They are also the carriers of the beloved Simba popcorn bucket. As noted, they have the option to order through the Disneyland app in the mobile order system or through a traditional standby line. At the time of my visit, Magic Key Discounts applied. This is a quick service option with very limited seating in the immediate radius of the ordering area. It is a good option for those eating on the go or planning to stay and watch the show at Fantasyland Theater.
NOTE: You must have a park ticket and applicable park reservation to grab a bite from Troubadour Tavern.
