True & 12 Handmade Ice Cream

Nice place, and I enjoyed their choices. We placed our first order there in Munich, and it was quite tasty and good. I really enjoyed it when the ingredients had just the right amount of sugar; it makes a big difference for me! Their taste was comparable to any Italian taste, and it was enjoyable in those terms.

Just another level of ice cream. Very natural taste, right amount of sugar. Saffron, pistachio and lavender are my favorite so far. Especially finishing with lavender leaves behing hint of great smell. Love it!

Deliciously creamy 'proper' ice cream and best waffle cone I've tasted for ages!! Friendly service. I bought the lavender and blackberry white handcrafted chocolate too and oh wow!! Other really cute products to buy at the shop too. A must visit place!

Absolutely love this shop, the ice cream is divine and there's always such brilliant variety and the most delicious flavours! And the chocolate is simply gorgeous with beautifully designed packaging - make for fantastic gifts! Their white chocolates are so unique and have such delicious flavour, and the hot chocolate is super velvety. So awesome that the owners take so much pride and care in how ingredients are sourced and how their delightful products are made from scratch!! ❤️ Will be back for more!

My partner and I walked in thinking we'd share a cup of ice cream and after trying a bite we came back for 4 more scoops (and 3 bars of chocolate!)! It's clear the owners here care about quality — every flavor we tried had incredible depth and richness. You can taste the fresh milk and roasted Italian nuts and that were used for the hazelnut and the pistachio. The Madagascar vanilla bean had incredible undertones of orange and honey — unlike any vanilla bean ice cream I've ever tasted before. I'm so glad we found True & 12 and I can't wait to come back the next time we're in Munich!

Amazing ice cream from the finest ingredients! It’s the best in Munich for sure. It’s the quality you can taste, not expensive and very delicious , the lady is kind and lets you try samples.

I love this place! And the staff is super friendly especially when I can’t decide on a flavor. In the past I couldn’t get enough of the lavender and now I’m dipping heavily into the vanilla. What a great, deep flavor their vanilla has.

I know exactly what you might be thinkin "hell no, that ice cream will have me bloated and gassed up"! I used to feel the exact same way, except when traveling. Dairy that is not processed and free from preservatives will not upset my stomach. This ice cream is made in the smallest of batches, by hand, with locally sourced ingredients and minimal sugar, so all that is left is flavor! I visited this spot three times and had a different flavor, each more tongue tantalizing than the previous. I am a pistachio conosur, especially while in Europe. True prides themselves on creating a smooth, fresh nut paste, and it shows in the ice cream with the flavor of fresh roasted pistachios, the smallest hint of cane sugar, nothing else needed here! Yes, try a waffle cone, think stroopwafel without the caramel, and slight taste of cinnamon. Very nice small ice cream shop with smiley staff. I had just a single spoon of Lavander ice cream which was really amazing (EUR 1.60).

I used to think that I'd never had a really bad ice cream. And frankly, I find the difference between premium ice cream in the supermarket and the store-brand not to be all that huge. That smug assumption went kablooey when I tasted True &12. They take obsessive care to source ingredients--even milk--from known farm suppliers. And the taste is waaay better. They actually buy and grind their own pistachios, which I imagine is an utter pain-in-the-ass to do, but you sure can taste the difference. Technically, True & 12 makes gelato--less cream and eggs than "ice cream" and more milk solids. This makes it slightly lower in fat, but denser and with a creamier, smoother texture. Müncheners are obsessive about gelato in the summer, and queue for hours at their favourite Italian gelato places. The fact that the fast-moving queue outside True & 12 is among the longest in the city speaks volumes.

Took my Mom here during a weekend trip with her to Munich for an OCR. Since she was kind enough to accompany me I took her to dinner and then some dessert with this certainly special ice cream shop. The flavors like green tea and lavender may not be for everyone, but even their "normal" flavors such as pistachio or hazelnut were delicious. The price is a little high for ice cream, but certainly justified with the quality - more of a every once in a while thing, even if you live in town.

I've been to True & 12 quite a few times since its opening almost 3 weeks ago. And i am so impressed with this couple who have devoted their lives to ice cream. It is so nice to see a well priced ice cream that is made from real ingredients, and not just the generic packet stuff you find in most of the Eis cafe's in munich. This is a tough concept to try here in Munich, but i have seen it in Sydney and it has been so successful as the customer base begins to appreciate what real ingredients taste like. If you try the chocolate you taste the cocoa, try the yogurt and its yum, and any of the cool flavours like honey and goats cheese. Has such an interesting taste in your mouth that you want more. And for any aussies out there - give the blood orange one a try. It taste like a jaffas explosion in your mouth!

One of my favourite ice cream shop! A smaller selection of flavours that guaranty the freshness of ingredients. New flavours at every visit with some creative mix or even unexpected yummy taste (ex: pepper). That's simple: I always take forever to chose because I want to try them all. The staff is additionally very friendly!

The best icecream in Munich - and I have tried a lot! Even better than e.g. Ballabeni or Domori. Pretty much every flavor is amazing. Recommendations: chocolate intense, pistaccio, Vanilla . And all the fruit flavors are great - not too sweet, no artificial flavors, just lots of intense natural fruit taste.

Best home made ice cream in Europe! Great value too. These people should look at expanding. This is what people are looking for. The Bronte Pistachio was exceptional.

I had a fine chocolate-banana ice-cream. Good taste and some interesting flavors, but not quite reaching a big wow. Certainly worth stopping by on a hot day though. A bit more pricey than your average shop (1.30 € for a single scoop).
