Google
It was our first experience at True Food Kitchen. I loved the variety of healthy options. We tried two of the fresh juice blends, and they were perfect! The beet blend was my favorite. The ancient grains bowl with shrimp did not disappoint. The veggies were cooked perfectly and the sweet potatoes were delicious. The air-fried French fries were crispy and not greasy…guilt free? Maybe not, but I’d eat those every day. The air-fried chicken tenders were just OK, but not my favorite. Something about the texture was weird and they were a little dry, but maybe they were just overcooked a bit. I’ll definitely try this place again. There were several vegetarian and vegan options too! I saw another table with the cookie and ice cream and I was envious.

Google
I was curious if a wellness-concept restaurant could actually taste good, but it was surprisingly delicious! The hummus exceeded my expectations, and the jambalaya pasta was exactly the flavor we know and love—my friend said it reminded them of paella. The organic matcha latte was sold out, so I couldn’t try it, but I’ll definitely come back for that next time

Google
Some of our group liked the food and others thought it was just OK. The food is made from scratch, organic, in ways that are better on your body such as air fryers. However, I was disappointed in the quality of the food. I felt the food did not live up to the atmosphere. The food was reasonably priced. I personally would not go back but my wife who eats vegan would go back.

Google
True Food Kitchen is always delicious and the Raleigh location did not disappoint! From the moment we were greeted, through our exit, everyone was friendly. A special thank you to Victoria aka “V” who suggested I add blackened shrimp to my Pesto Pasta!

Nicola W.

Google
The organic tuscan kale salad with blackened sustainable arctic salmon was EXCELLENT!! I especially loved the robust flavor of the salad dressing (which the server (Mr. Woody) said is a proprietary blend made by the owner). The service was also excellent as I felt like I was visiting a family member who introduced me to his favorite place to eat!🤩🤩

Google
Food was good and the options are healthy. We enjoyed everything we ordered, and the kids did as well. It wasn’t bad, but nothing really stood out. They also have outdoor seating.

Google
My husband and I went for the first time this past Sunday. I really had high hopes for this place due to the many positive review. I have been looking for a restaurant with a focus on healthy and organic foods, without compromising the taste. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. I got the chicken tenders and kale salad. I've had air fried food before, but these chicken tenders were dry and hard. I still ate them because I was hungry. But they were pretty tough to chew. The kale salad was very tasty. My husband had the steak frites. He ate two bites. The steak was very chewy, fatty, and veiny so there wasn't much meat. I told him to send it back and order something else, but he just wanted to hurry and leave to get something else to eat. Not sure if we will be back any time soon. I am not sure about anything else on the menu. I think the salads would be a great choice.

Google
Definitely one of the top restaurants in NC. The food was outstanding and Woody, our server, was amazing. 10/10 in food options, flavor, service and ambience. We got the Panang curry with steak and shrimp along with the ancient grains bowl with chicken. This is definitely the vibe North Hills needed! Will be back!

Yelp
Bailey and Frankie were awesome! Turkey burger and ancient grain bowl with blackened shrimp weee fantastic

Courtney O.

Yelp
Awesome service and great food. The ambience and vibe is really crisp and elegant. Great variety of foods that are still approachable to people of all walks and you leave feeling good

Yelp
I was doing some holiday shopping in North Hills and wanted to try something new and warm. At a first glance, the outside of the restaurant is very minimalist and once you enter the inside is as well. But I truly think this is an ode to the real, simple ingredients in every dish. I sat at the bar and was quickly greeted by a warm bartender, I asked her how spicy the curry bowl was and she said about a medium spice level and that was very accurate. If you love spice, this will be perfect. The shellfish undertone in the curry was sooo flavorful. Every bite was filled with veggies like sweet potato, bok choy, carrots and snap peas. And the black regenerative rice was a cool contrast to the bright curry color. I would absolutely recommend if you're looking for something to warm you up in these cooler months! And of course, I had a drink or two. Their skinny margarita was light and citrusy.

Yelp
Came here for a book club meetup! I was really excited to try this place but the expectations were not met for me. Granted we had a bigger party, our waiter was pretty slow. We had a few girls come after drinks were ordered and he never checked back in with them to get their orders. Next, the food. I ordered the air fried chicken tenders and my goodness were they a disappoint. It was very much giving Tyson chicken tenders that I made at home. Not super juicy, had some burned spots on the end. Just not what I was expecting at all. A few of my friends said their food was ok, but no one really raved about it. The drinks were pretty good so I will say that had a lot going for itself. Not sure if I'll be back, but maybe it was a one off as far as experiences are concerned.

Yelp
I visited True Food Kitchen for the first time last night for dinner with friends. It was a chilly Thursday evening and there weren't many patrons. We were seated right away at the table of our choice. Ian was our server and he was awesome. He made sure we had water before he took our drink orders and kept a good eye on us throughout the evening, even as business started to pick up. It was the first visit for each of us, so we asked Ian for his top suggestions in each category. We all ordered cocktails and entrees. I had the all American beef burger (100% Grass fed) with a kale salad on the side. I enjoyed every bite!!! One of my friends had the Turkey burger w/ air fried French Fries on the side (additional charge for an upgraded side), she enjoyed her burger and said the fries were basic, but not bad. My other friend had the Ancient Grain Bowl and added the blackened Salmon as her protein. She said the Salmon was really good, the bowl ingredients were varied in temperature and that was disappointing as she wanted something hot/warm! We ended the evening with delectable dessert. I had the carrot cake, which was perfect! They shared the flourless chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream and devoured it!! I will definitely go back again!!!

Yelp
We ordered off of the brunch menu which goes on until 3pm (at least on Saturday anyway). The food was good but a little pricy for what you get. The sweet potatoes were fantastic and the avocado is fresh. The grilled bread was lovely and nice to dip in your food/runny eggs. The chili crunch, which is like a chili crisp, is phenomenal. Highly recommend. They had cholula as well and the other woman was extremely apologetic bc apparently they ran out and that was all they could get. But it was more than enough cholula. The demeanor of the separate servers was starkly diff with the one who brought the hot sauces being very friendly and apologetic and the other having a very flat affect, no smile, absent of any emotion. The "steak" is paltry so be warned if you decide to order anything with steak. It was a measly 3 or 4 tiny pieces that hardly qualify as steak. It was almost as if they had one steak strip and sliced it up to make it seem like there was more than there was but it had the opposite efffect. I asked our server Kourtney for medium rare and she said that it tends to be closer to medium rare than medium which was NOT true at all. That's like calling a pigeon a goose. My friend whom I dined with got the same thing and she noted that she also got hardly any steak at all and it was tiny. She asked for medium well done because she is expecting. Maybe they just nuked all the steak to make it easier on themselves. Ambience is chill and open area. Big open windows are good for people watching. High ceilings and modern type of place. Similar to tender greens but fancier. Hostess was nice. Apologized for the wait and mentioned that they were busy. This was on a Saturday at late 1ish/2pm. I would come back but would order something different.

Yelp
We sat in the screened-in outdoor section, which was really nice, but the inside had a fun vibe that would be great for a date night or girls night. We ordered the spicy pineapple margaritas and really enjoyed them. Our server recommended the edamame dumplings to start, and they were very good. We shared the Margherita pizza, which was just okay. We like that they use healthier ingredients, but the toppings were uneven, as you can see in our picture. We also ordered sides of the Tuscan-dusted fries and the kale salad, and both were great. Service was respectful and prompt. We'd come back to try other menu items, but probably wouldn't order pizza there again.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the food at True Food Kitchen. I loved all the healthy and plant-based options that are 100% seed oil free. It's also really helpful to see the macros listed for each menu item. It was difficult to choose, but I was excited about the air-fried chicken options and went with the Crisp'd green salad. The air fried chicken was delicious and all the veggies were fresh and perfect. My husband's seasonal salad was also delicious. True Food Kitchen had some great kids meals options as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my iced lavender matcha latte-it was earthy, floral, and refreshing. I'd love to go back.

Yelp
I came in a Monday around noon for lunch. I ordered the SZA CZA Ceasar Salad. It was just ok, not note worthy. It states it came with croutons, but as seen in my photo taken-- it came with very minimal croutons. I also would have preferred a bit more dressing on the salad. However, the crunch on the kale was nice. The waitress was attentive, and the food came out quickly.
google avatar

Dana H.

Yelp
The service was great (they get a bonus star), and the menu was varied, but most of it was a miss for me. The table shared a sourdough margherita pizza that was criminally undercooked and tasted nothing like sourdough. We also had a side of fries (arguably a 'table' sized order - but thankfully much smaller) that were overly soggy and greasy. The tuscan kale salad dressing was too much on the sweet side. The hummus (while tasty) was too chunky and not smooth enough to my liking. The only menu item that stood out was the ancient grain bowl.

Yelp
We had high hopes after reading the description online and looking at the menu. Our server was nice but a little standoffish. I had the American burger, which was good. My husband had the teriyaki bowl with chicken added. The avocado in his bowl was inedible because it was very hard. The bowl had good flavor, but was somehow still a little bland. Our friends ordered three specialty refreshers and two of the three drinks were left after a few sips. The OG had too much ginger and the lavender and Matcha drink was not good. I was surprised that the server never acknowledged that the drinks were left untouched. My knife was dirty and put off to the side which again she never commented on or acknowledged.

Yelp
I was very happily surprised that vegetarian, vegan gluten free food here was very tasty.. it was clean and inviting.. Kudos to our waiter Daniel who was very nice, knowledgeable, answered all my questions, attentive and made our experience there pleasant.. I'm not one to eat "healthy" but I have to say I enjoyed it.. the portions were small but enough to fill you.. The dessert.. chocolate cake wasn't my favourite but the vegan vanilla ice cream was pretty good..

Alexis A.

Yelp
V was my server. She was so nice and attentive. the food was excellent! Would definitely eat here again!

Yelp
I dined in at True Food Kitchen with a group and had an okay experience. We had a reservation and chose to sit in the bar area. It was a beer to start for me and the smoke show old fashioned for my husband. For food we started with charred cauliflower for the table. For our entrees it was the meatloaf for me and the pesto pasta for my husband. Our friends tried the tenderloin and lasagne al pesto. The starter was really good but the entrees were just okay. I also thought that the service was a little bit slow. It would not be my first choice to dine at in North Hills.
google avatar

Priyanka B.

Yelp
Went here for lunch with my sister. The food was pretty good. The burger I enjoyed the toppings although I would say that I had to order an extra side of the sauce because without it it was pretty dry. We also got the chard cauliflower which was very good. My sister got the sza ceaser salad and it was huge. It's definitely able to be split by at least two people. The mashed potatoes were pretty underwhelming though. The service was great overall.
google avatar

Heather F.

Yelp
First off, the service was excellent. No complaints there. Ambiance also nice, we sat outside. But... the food was meh. We got the tuscan salad, the Mediterranean hummus, the ancient grains bowl, and the Margherita pizza. The hummus and the bowl were decent, especially the lavash. The pizza gave frozen not fresh, and was undercooked. The dressing on the tuscan salad was unpleasantly sweet. So on the whole, not a stellar meal. Stars are all for the service!

Yelp
What a great addition to the North Hills area! It's positioned well near plenty of street parking and a parking garage that isn't too far. The service is excellent, very warm and attentive as soon as you walk in the door and until you head out to leave. It's a lively restaurant with plenty of seating and a spacious bar as well. For dinner, we decided on the spicy panang curry bowl and the bougie blanco pizza. Both were amazing!! The curry was filled with seasonal vegetables and fresh herbs. There's a hint of spice for those who may be sensitive. The bougie pizza is topped with Parmesan cream, black truffle, hot honey, and arugula. Great complementary flavors!! Both dishes were fresh and fulfilling. The food reminds me of farm to table as they outsource many foods from local organizations. I look forward to visiting again soon and trying other menu items!

Yelp
I was initially disappointed that Raleigh didn't have a True Food kitchen. My disappointment has since departed. The amazing wholesome food that the name True Food is known for is now in Raleigh. The veggie burger and Mac and cheese was one of the best that I've had. A refreshing mocktail called the hangover was the perfect paring to an after Thanksgiving meal.

Yelp
We went to True Food Kitchen last night after hearing all the hype and yes, it was with the hype! I made a reservation for five but it ended up only being three of us. I tried to call prior but didn't get answer; the woman at the front host stand was so kind about it. No big deal. The ambiance is casual and relaxed, yet modern. It almost reminded me of a fancier CAVA atmosphere with a beautiful bar. So much greenery and lighting. Our servers were AMAZING. We had two since we were there for three hours. Shoutout to WOODY & SAMANTHA R. Both kind, attentive, and funny; just all around good people and very knowledgeable with the menu tour! We started with a bottle of wine to share, a favorite of mine that is a Paso Robles Cabernet. They had a pretty extensive wine and drink menu, which is always good. They also offer different coffees and teas! We were brought waters too, and random yes, but they were just crispy and delicious. Cold water but no ice, perfect. The menu is so fun. There are so many different options and we of course had to try quite a few dishes to share! I love an extensive yet not overwhelming menu; we weren't in a rush and at not one point did we feel rushed by our servers. We started with the Tuna Lettuce Wraps & Edamame Truffle Dumplings. The Ahi Tuna Wraps were good, but let me tell you about these Dumplings: WOW. Woody recommended these and so did my friend, but I didn't need convincing. I could have eaten another order to myself. They are so flavorful, with a whisper of truffle but not too overpowering as truffle can sometimes be. I brought an extra order home to my husband and he also loved them. 10/10, do not skip these! We opted to share the classic Pepperoni Pizza as a next step; these are made with sourdough and so delicious! They are thin crust, but the actual crust is a bit thicker so it was perfect. We also ordered entrées; Nashville Chicken Sandwich, Thai Noodle Peanut Bowl, and Pot Roast Beef Dip. I tried the Nashville Chicken as this was air fried and light, yet still delicious, flavorful, and you didn't feel gross eating it, not a fan of fried foods and this was great. I also tried some tofu out of the Thai Noodle Peanut Bowl; so yummy, I love tofu! My own entrée was the Pot Roast Beef Dip. Think French Dip with Pot Roast, this was amazing! Cooked tender and the flavor was on point! We also shared a side of the Macaroni & Cheese (two sides, one for my dish and my sister got one originally to try), and unfortunately it was pretty bland. It has potential with more flavor/seasonings though! I got the Bougie Blanco pizza to go for leftovers, and this pizza was AMAZING! It's a Parmesan cream sauce, black truffle (again, not too overbearing) arugula, and served with a size of house-made hot honey. So yummy! Overall, we had a great experience at True Food Kitchen, a lovely addition to the cozy North Hills space. We will absolutely be back, and I highly recommend it! Also, fun fact: if you go Monday-Thursday and download the inKind app, you get $25 off of $75, and then earn even more cash for your next trip! Super simple and great that they do this. Check out their website for details!

Cecelia W.

Yelp
vegan burger good, fries undesirable, chocolate cake great, lime spritzer great. Service was not good. Ambiance was nice. Management gave excuses that the reasons they were out of items on the menu was because staff didn't show up for work because of ICE. This didn't excuse the waitress for not being informative!!

Morris B.

Yelp
"Brunch at True Food Kitchen in Raleigh did not disappoint! Loved the clean, organic vibes. I tried the avocado toast paired with their OG juice (ginger, pineapple, and lime) -- the toast was hearty and flavorful, and the juice was super refreshing. Perfect healthy start to the day!"

Anthony M.

Yelp
Food was fantastic. Even better service (which is hard to comprehend as the food was so good!) I was greeted in a timely fashion and the food came out very quickly. All around great experienc! would highly recommend!
google avatar

Maree S.

Yelp
Don't get the plant based burger with the gluten free bun. The patties were salty and crumbled off immediately and the bun was difficult to bite through. The food is too expensive to be bad. Atmosphere and service were nice but we left feeling disappointed.
google avatar

Courtney O.

Yelp
Great from start to finish. Our family has certain dietary restrictions and we've never met a more helpful staff to navigate us through a menu. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Elle B.

Yelp
We're so so happy True Food came to Raleigh!!!! Absolutely delicious clean eating. Flavor profiles are simple yet perfectly balanced and creative. The citrus salmon salad is killer, and I often struggle to find a salad I'd fawn over. They have really great kids choices too-- a teriyaki bowl full of veggies and chicken, hibiscus lemonade sweetened with agave... choices I feel so much better about offering my kids. The only thing I was disappointed in was the steak add on-- it was pricey and unfortunately really disappointing in flavor. But I've been here several times already and they haven't even been here long. Very happy about the addition to our food scene here! Oh and service has always been very very friendly and accommodating, with or without children in tow.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Wonderful addition to North Hills! The atmosphere and service are top notch. Frankie was so nice when he visited our table!
google avatar

Drew H.

Yelp
We now have dined at the Raleigh location and the NOLA location. the food is delicious and healthy. The air fried chicken was tender and scrumptious. It is very cozy and comfortable surroundings. Our server was a delight and attentive.
google avatar

Kim J.

Yelp
Made a reservation for Sunday at 5pm. Arrived at 5 and was greeted by the hostess and was sat immediately which was great. Now looking around there was people inside but they were by no means busy at all. We were seated in the last booth by the bar. The hostess did give us menus. We were a little shocked to see that they didn't offer any type of soda or pop. After 10mins we still had not been acknowledged or even see a waiter or waitress. Well we have been around long enough to know how this ends so we left. I did let the hostess know on the way out. Not sure if we will attempt to try again or not.

Yelp
I sent the following email to True Foods Corporate office but I never received a response so I'm posting here: I am a professional who comes to your Raleigh establishment almost twice a week and I sit at the bar and order the same two items since they became available; the Seasonal Roasted Butternut Squash pizza with gluten free crust and edamame dumplings which are my favorites. I came in today 3FEB25 and sat at the bar and ordered my same two items but this time with hummus. When I received the pizza, I took a bite and it tasted burned and then I noticed it was more charred than normal at the bottom of the crust. I asked the bartender if I could please send it back since I can't ignore the burned taste. She graciously took it back and ordered another. When the next one came I noticed it was still cold in the middle and I apologized and asked for it to be cooked more. She said yes she noticed that and she wanted her manager to come help. As soon as Gerry walked to me he seemed annoyed. I couldn't get one word out before he said "that's the way we always do it" I politely asked him if I can explain and he had the audacity to say to me, "I don't have time for this I have a catering order to complete" I said wow I amazed that you could say something like that and how unprofessional that was. He said well I will do it for you again. I said you never let me get one word out. You're being defensive for no reason. We exchanged a few more words and at that point I was done. I have never been treated this way. I am a traveler as I have corporate meetings in other cities like Atlanta and Chicago and I try my best to visit TF each time there. I feel that I have been racially profiled and discriminated against. I am disgusted with how this "manager" treated me. Something needs to be done. I'd hate to leave this review on yelp

Yelp
Went for Brunch on Sunday and didn't have a reservation, but they sat us within minutes of arrival even though the place was packed! We ordered and drinks came fast (lattes and a bloody mary) Or apps came fast as well but our entree was delayed. The manager, an older guy came and refilled our water and apologized for the delay and few minutes later delivered them himself. Didn't mind the wait but wasn't happy the dish we ordered didn't have the right potatoes and meat? He again came back over and explained because of the menu change they made some changes, he then returned with the potatoes we actually had hoped for and brought us a new round of lattes on the house.... above and beyond but greatly appreciated. Make a reservation, place was packed and well worth it!

Maeve M.

Yelp
V was our server and she was great!! Food was amazing. Will definitely be back for the edamame dumplings and the great service.

Johnny S.

Yelp
To start off, this place looks really cool. High bar shelves to display the wine with some hanging plants around the whole place give good energy. There was fresh espresso for my espresso martini which was awesome. They are able to accommodate many food allergies (my girlfriend is Gluten Free). And they even have outdoor seating. Definitely a cool spot for food and drinks in the North Hills area.

Tracy C.

Yelp
The chicken Parm was FABULOUS and our server V was amazing!! Everything was hot and fresh!

Kelly C.

Yelp
Ordered the spaghetti squash dish with chicken. It had less than 1/4 cup of squash and a full cup of cheese. I was looking for something health. This was not it! Very disappointing especially for $24.
google avatar

Jenna C.

Yelp
They claim they have organic "ketchup on their menu" but as I got up to go the bathroom, I looked over by their drink area/the wait staff work station and saw big bottles of French's ketchup... not organic. Really disappointing.

Samantha R.

Yelp
Truefood kitchen is a blessing! The organic anti inflammatory diet is the way to go. It's so hard to choose what to eat each time I come in. Consider asking for Samantha as your server and she will do her best to give you a quality Truefood experience. North Hills location helps with the vibe of the restaurant.
google avatar

Melissa H.

Yelp
Love having another restaurant in the area that focuses on healthy food with quality ingredients. We went for brunch and both enjoyed our lattes and brunch entrees. Our server, Chantelle, was super sweet and attentive and had great insights into the menu. Can't wait to try other things on their menu!

Ian S.

Yelp
Woody was fantastic. He was my tour guide for this delicious food. My Poke bowl was fantastic. Woody suggested I get six ounces of that scrumptious tuna and he was right! Mark the general manager came over and introduced himself. Very nice guy

Woody C.

Yelp
We had such a great time at True Food recently! Ian was our server and he was so knowledgeable about the menu and giving us recommendations. I have dietary restrictions and he handled them with ease. I'll definitely recommend this place to others!

C B.

Yelp
Good food, service, ambience... top notch. I have been 4 times since it opened in November and every time I have had the most friendly wait staff. Great place for lunch with an old friend. I am so here for clean eating... thank you True Food Kitchen

Sarah A.

Yelp
I love having options for my family and friends when it comes to gluten free and vegetarian friendly dishes. Mark and V were both great! We also sat at the bar for a drink first and Natalie took great care of us there. Definitely coming back!
google avatar

Julia C.

Yelp
Easy parking and beautiful space. Greeted with a friendly hostess and we loved our server, Chantelle! She was personable, attentive, and kind. Everyone was welcoming and hospitable with putting us at a table with a stroller and newborn baby. 10/10 will be back soon!!

Mari R.

Yelp
Visited on the 30th of December 2024 and the food was delicious. Great welcoming as soon as you enter. We did salmon and steak and the three plates were good including the mashed potatoes. Drinks were also very good. Accessible prices too. Recommended!

Stefanie L.

Yelp
True Food Kitchen is an amazing restaurant with lots of great vegetarian and vegan options. I'm obsessed with the plant-based double cheeseburger! It's hard to find homemade veggie burgers anymore (not "Impossible" burgers) and with vegan cheese and sauce, oh my. It's a treasure. Plus my meat-eating family and friends find great dishes, too. The pizzas are surprisingly delicious! And under the new management, this location is perfection. One of the most beautiful True Food Kitchens I've been to, and the current staff are very kind.

Bonny R.

Yelp
Very tasty food, nice atmosphere, and amazing service, our server Annie was great! Will be back!

Edric P.

Yelp
This place is truly amazing. The atmosphere for one, is really inviting. They did a great job on the decor. The food itself was really good, I ordered the Teriyaki Quinoa bowl, and added some shrimp. It really satisfied my taste. Lastly, our waitress was truly phenomenal. She knew the menu like the back of her hand and she kept us in good spirit as well. Her name is Chantelle; ask for her when go, you won't be disappointed.

Clayton B.

Yelp
For was amazing Courtney and woody we're spectacular. We will be back again soon. Mark the manager was attentive. 5 stars

K K.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious ! Clean food alternatives and they taste great. The spaghetti squash lasagna is great ! Every choice I've made has been good tasting and good for me too ! The restaurant is clean and stylish with a good ambiance. The servers were attentive and nice. It's a nice change from the usual boring choices at other restaurants. They have tasty food with a good selection of different dishes !

Apollo C.

Yelp
Didn't know this place was even here. Discovered it today with a great customer of ours as we were looking around. Went in sat at the bar. Got 1 drink each after 15 mins of waiting with nobody else at the bar only just us and we also ordered a couple of apps. Finally got drinks and once they were gone no waitress for 15 mins again. Apps came out after a 40 minute wait and were wrong. Sent back the wrong ones kept the rest. The rest were cold and very bad especially the WAY over cooked meatloaf sliders. After waiting 15 more minutes got our check settled and ran out to not return ever again. Beautiful location, building and atmosphere otherwise a complete FAIL. No thanks!
