I came here because I have celiac disease and was excited about their gluten free options. What's good about true food kitchen is that it's totally accessible for disabled people. Not like performative accessible, real accessible. Wide aisles that people with assistive devices could easily navigate, no stairs or anything to get to the front door. They did not question my service dog. Also, importantly, our servers never leaned over my service dog with hot coffee or full plates. This is often a faux pas that servers make and it puts my SD in danger. So I appreciated that they were conscious of that.
The food itself was a little disappointing. I had the blueberry gluten free pancakes and they were super undercooked inside. They were supposed to be served with Greek yogurt and compote on top-- which technically they were, but it was like a blob of each-- too small for me to have topping with each bite. What was provided lasted me about 3 bites. Not much more than a decoration. The Greek yogurt was also not Greek yogurt, it was clearly sour cream. That's fine but they should've told me they were gonna give me sour cream instead of Greek yogurt. These were also served with fake syrup. For the price of these, they should have had more toppings and real maple syrup. Also, this was the adult size meal. Made me wonder how small the kids one must have been.
Service was friendly, however, we had some trouble getting their attention when we wanted to order. Several servers stood feet from us near the bar, talking and being on their phones. I have no problem with servers taking a little break, but I don't think that they should be doing it 5 feet away from the table, I think that they should have a break room to go to.
Overall it was adequate, but I was just so bummed out by the price of my meal as compared to the quality of it, that I'm really not sure if I would come back. I guess I would be interested to try some of their lunch and dinner items, so maybe I will give them another chance with their savories. It's great how many gluten free options they have but the number of gf items doesn't matter much if they are all the same underwhelming quality as my pancakes were.
