Ipswich is its own reward. When, on a blustery new england day, uncertain clouds may simply evaporate or unleash a thunderous downpour, and the ennui you feel can only be tempered by a pause to enjoy a cool draft, may I humbly suggest a stop at the True North brewery.
Columns of hop vines shroud the building in summer, overlooking the outdoor tables. But even in winter there is plenty of indoor seating, either at the long bar facing the impressive row of taps, or the double rows of stylish picnic tables with a view of the gleaming industrial brew room.
Typically there are a score of impressive rotating brews, from hoppy IPAs to spiced seasonal brews. The selections really run the gamut of possibilities, and if you can't find a new favorite...man, are you hard to please!
Food trucks are sporadically available, if you yearn for more than a giant pretzel, some local restaurants will deliver. I cannot figure out where else they would be on the weekends...talk about lack of competition!?
Live music on the weekends, family friendly, a really good vibe!
