A fun spot for beer & BBQ in Ipswich. Today I had the "Sunshine & Kittens" and the "Land & Sea" from the taproom... and a Brisket Bomb with fries from the Big Pig BBQ food truck. The BBQ was amazing as usual... Sunshine & Kittens might just be my favorite IPA they've made yet through 8 years in business. It can hang with the IPAs that I have sampled from the San Diego craft beer scene! 🍻

Best spot in Ipswich to hang out and have a beer. Favorites include Season of the Witch, Northern Haze and Straight Up. Trivia nights with Zack are made even better with Mike, Kelsey and Tim.

Large selection of excellent beer. The linebrook lager, gran paradiso Italian pilsner, cerveza Mexican lager, and willowdale apa were all delicious. I'd come back for sure to drink the same or try new offerings. They are dog friendly on their patio which is uncovered so bring sun screen.

Great brews ! Nice spot, and great playlist! There is a fridge to the left of the bar for take home cans.. Parking was almost full on a sunny Saturday afternoon but they have overflow parking, next right heading north I believe. Signs for this are posted, just follow them if need be.

I'd give them 10 stars if there was such a thing. Out of all the breweries I've been to true north is the only one to really figure it out during this pandemic!!!!! Staff keeps u super well taken care of nd they are super covid contious. Everything ultra clean all the time!!! They are very attentive to their customers. Thanks for a great afternoon!!! We had a great experience with a large event held in their event room. The staff (Mike in particular) was so helpful as we set up and throughout the event. I can't recommend them highly enough. Thanks True North Ale for what was the perfect location and the perfect venue for our event.

Stopped in for a Premium Flight (5 pours). All of my picks were great. Great service, facilities and vibe. Highly recommended!

Huge space with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Good beer. Easy to order drinks and food via QR code or from the bar. Seemed very kid-friendly also.

Had a wonderful pitstop at True North this week before a family dinner. I've been to the taproom several times and it is spacious with lots of options for indoor and outdoor seating. The back area can also be used as a event/private party space. They always have 15-20 beers on tap and we enjoyed the festbier and the Octjoberfest. Extra bonus because they had the Red Sox playoff game with the sound on! I would definitely recommend this spot if you're a fan of local beers and find yourself on the North shore. The staff are great too and can help recommend something based on your preferences

This is THE brewery for the north shore! Local, active, friendly, here for the community and great beer! The resident food truck here is awesome. Patio is dog friendly. They got my dog a bowl of water and almost everyone behind the bar came to say hi on that Tuesday. I consider myself a local regular but I should go there more!

Another excellent visit. Great service and atmosphere. But most importantly- pumpkin beer!!! Delicious!!

I recommend the ASSGOLD beer. Just wonderful. For the record I'm 41 and sent this pic to three friends. We all hit a great laugh. Terrific brewery. Way better then the other one in town I won't mention. The other brewery hate baby's... they don't have high chairs cause kids and baby's aren't in their demographic. Can't make that up. They told me this with a straight face. True north is the greatest thing that's happened to Ipswich ....not counting me moving to town.

An awesome spot not too far from the north shore beaches! Loved this flight of sours and the place is spacious with outdoor seating options.

Nice huge selection of craft beers on tap. Also, they have their own wine which was very good, way better than expected from a brewery. There's also a food truck outside that makes amazing barbecue.

My favorite brewery in the USA! We come from Portland Oregon and this place is simply the best! keep up the great work on your wonderful beers!

Ipswich is its own reward. When, on a blustery new england day, uncertain clouds may simply evaporate or unleash a thunderous downpour, and the ennui you feel can only be tempered by a pause to enjoy a cool draft, may I humbly suggest a stop at the True North brewery. Columns of hop vines shroud the building in summer, overlooking the outdoor tables. But even in winter there is plenty of indoor seating, either at the long bar facing the impressive row of taps, or the double rows of stylish picnic tables with a view of the gleaming industrial brew room. Typically there are a score of impressive rotating brews, from hoppy IPAs to spiced seasonal brews. The selections really run the gamut of possibilities, and if you can't find a new favorite...man, are you hard to please! Food trucks are sporadically available, if you yearn for more than a giant pretzel, some local restaurants will deliver. I cannot figure out where else they would be on the weekends...talk about lack of competition!? Live music on the weekends, family friendly, a really good vibe!

Great outdoor seating and fantastic beer. They are also dog friendly with tie off spots all over the patio area which was very nice to see. I wish their outdoor seating had a better solution for shade because it does get crazy hot after a little while . They have umbrellas for tables but it doesn't really cover enough space.

I can't believe how good their beers are. Each one I tried! Not only were they all true to style, but they were also just excellent. Between my two friends and I, we went through almost the whole tap list via flights. I bought a bunch of cans to bring home with me. The food truck looked good but they didn't really have anything shareable so we didn't order anything. I'm not factoring this into my review of a brewery, though--I wouldn't ever want to come into a brewery hungry anyway. Standouts are their IPAs and sessions, plus their sour berliner weisse. Just so nicely done. I'm from NY so I probably won't be back here anytime soon, but I hope I'm wrong!

We were in the area and saw the brewery on Yelp. Thought that we would stop in and try the beer. First off the space is outstanding. Big, bright (even on a rainy day) and impeccably clean. The beer was just as wonderful. Couldn't find one I didn't like. One of my favorites was the Vincianne, a Belgian Golden Ale. But as I said couldn't find one we didn't like. We liked them so much we got some 4packs to go. Will definitely stop in again when we are in the area.

Incredible beer but really, really slow service. The last few times I've been there with family we've had snail paced service, and I know it gets busy so we try to be patient, but last night we ordered our to-go beer at the very start of sitting down as the employee said it would take a little bit for it to come out, and ended up waiting for an hour and a half for our to go beer to come out (three different employees came over to re-ask what we had ordered). Meanwhile the beer we ordered to drink on the patio also came out very very slow so we weren't able to have very much while we were sitting there. We love this place and the staff is always nice, but I can't sit there for an hour and a half waiting every time when we would like to be there for less time. Again though, great beer.

There last night beer was very good. Food truck sucked!! They should add free popcorn machine. We would have stayed longer had few more beers.

Excellent interesting beers in a relaxed and friendly setting. We've loved everything we've tried with Eye of the Dragon and A Wee Swally being especially good. Love the "at table" ordering and payment system too.

Beautiful space full of natural light. They offer a flight of four 4 oz tasters in this amazing compass tray and even take the time to label them so you know what you're drinking. Friendly staff and the beer was delicious!

I'm honestly not an IPA/beer drinker (anymore) and after trying a few different ones at the Swamptoberfest in Swampscott, MA, it really hit the spot. The beer was just as wonderful. Would love to stop in at their Taproom.

We visited recently and we loved this brewery. The beer was tasty and cold. Coldest beer we've had at any brewery. The facility is impressively clean and comfortable. We had the double IPA and the wheat ale. We also had a tasty pretzel. They also have food trucks that rotate on site. Check this place out you'll love it too.

Went there last Sunday. Had a great selection of beer styles. Including a great witbier and hazy IPA's. They had plenty of social distanced seating available. Also, very friendly staff.

Great beer, love it! Especially the Northern Haze. Ambiance in the brewery is fine but doesn't have a heck of a lot of character. It wouldn't keep me from going again.

Wow what a gem!! Stumbled upon this place on a rainy Saturday night and was impressed before I even walked in the door. Gorgeous, immaculate exterior and an even more impressive interior. This is a family friendly joint but also great for groups of friends and couples. You can't go wrong. The selection of beers was very impressive for a local joint. They have roughly a dozen beers all made here. My favorite was the Vincianne which I later found out won the World Beer Cup gold award. My husband had a flight and loved all of his beers too. Perfect place to bring in a pizza or takeout and kick back with some of the best local beers around!! Cheers!

Very good beer roomy inviting taproom with outside patio area. Did a flight some solid beers. By mid afternoon on a Saturday place overrun with young couples with kids. Uber kids every where kids ! Now we understand the little placecards on tables about kids staying with parents, tell staff if a problem etc . I get it that young families want a place to go and hang out have adult beverages and socialize but if that isn't your thing I'd recommend maybe later in evening to have a beer if you are a young parent with children and you like good beer you have found a great place to bring the fam!

Another great place to enjoy beer in Ipswich! Love the concept of being able to bring your food, games, etc and purchase the beer from them. They have communal tables so the atmosphere is always fun and friendly. Beer is great and they are always coming up with interesting varieties. Tip - you can grab packs to go on your way out! Food trucks are often there so you can experience some different types of food. Only complaint that it can get quite noisy - please work on improving that. The owners are great community supporters and nice, nice, nice - thank you!

An amazing spot! Great atmosphere, the Belgium blonde is my favorite but all the beers are great. They also serve soft pretzels which are delish and have food trucks there serving different types of food every weekend. Loved this place!

Great beer selection, many styles of beer are done well here. Only downfall is that there aren't enough staff members to handle tap room customers and customers buying cans to go...be prepated to wait awhile and be patient...the beer and personal service from the owners is worth it.

Great beer, great people. You can talk to the owners directly and they're happy to tell their story. A must go to in the north shore
