We ate here for my best friends birthday! The food is really good. For starters we ordered the burrata, truffle fries and the artichokes. For our entrees we had the cheese wheel special with sausage and extra shaved truffle, another cheese wheel pasta with chicken and extra shaved truffle, and the daily special of surf and turf over mashed potatoes. The food was delightful. The smell of the pasta alone while it was being tossed inside the cheese was enough to make our mouths water. The service on the other hand was not the best. We got seated right away however 20-30minutes before we got any water or attention. When they finally took our order we ordered drinks and water to go along with the cocktails and appetizers. Took more time to get our drink order, he left and i thought he went to finally get us water but he never returned with it. When he came back with the appetizers we reminded the guy and only then did he bring us water. It took even longer to get our food. All I have to say is if you want to eat here be prepared to spend a few hours due to the time it takes for everything. Oh and we went on a Monday, I can only imagine if it was a weekend. My friends and I kept joking around saying it was taking so long because they had to go catch the cow and butcher it for the surf and turf.

Really enjoyed my experience here! We got four courses and loved it from start to finish. The beef carpaccio starter was delicious, the cheese wheel pasta is a must and the filet..unreal. cut it with a butter knife! Good service and food did not disappoint

Located in North Park area, opens at 4pm. Went for happy hour, available Monday to Friday. Tried a few apps and dishes, but the one I will come back for is the parmesan wheel truffle pasta. It Sssoooo delicious. you can add protein like chicken or shrimp to the pasta dishes for an extra fee. One waiter/waitress staff who does everything from seating to serving to making the wheeled pasta so service can be a little slow. Went back for a second time around 5 and one waiter again. I'm not sure if more staff comes in later in the evening. Great service, but be patient and enjoy your food.

Overall our experience at truffle was really great. Olina was kind and I felt like she really cared about serving us. In fact, I felt like the pasta dish I ordered wasn’t hot and she remade it for me in the cheese wheel. My husband requested a modification to have a cream sauce for a pasta that normally has vodka sauce and they made it and he really enjoyed it. We ordered the truffle burrata and it was also delicious. The Bellini and Prosecco we ordered was also great. The only reason I’m not giving them 5 stars is because I felt like the pasta noodles in my dish were slightly over cooked and mushy. I also think it would be nice to have olive oil instead of butter with the bread but that’s just my preference.

Saw a reel on Instagram and decided to check out their famous pasta. Food was PHENOMENAL. I was going to just order an ordinary ceaser salad. Boy I was blown away by that Caeser salad. This is a must to share with your friend. Appetizer fried calamari/shrimp was good. Unlike the fried calamari from other restaurants, these are made with less batter. I ordered this gnocchi that literally MELTED IN MY MOUTH as if I was eating cheese. It was flavorful with fresh tomato and pesto sauce. It was such a great meal and I was so pleased. Will definitely come back again

My first time at Truffle was 24 September 2023 for the first night of San Diego Restaurant Week. We arrived at 5 pm for our reservation and were promptly greeted and seated. There were several diners but it was early so there was lots of seating. The venue's interior was designed well and was extremely homey and charming. I felt as if I was in Italy. Our server, Ricardo, came to the table and greeted us, got us water, and let us know about the menus and specials. We all selected the pre-fixe Restaurant Week menu and put in our order. Our first course came out and we each tucked into our selection hungrily. I had the burrata Caprese and my friends each had the Caesar salad. Our server, Ricardo, didn't hover and in fact let us eat. I love that about Italian and French restaurants. We finished our salads a few minutes later our entrees came out. I ordered the lobster ravioli. I had to! It was calling my name. They each ordered the salmon and mashed potatoes. My pasta was so freaking delicious! I could have bathed in the sauce. I haven't had a sauce that simple looking and so ridiculously complex in a long time! I couldn't finish all of mine. The next course was dessert and it was a homemade gelato. We ordered tiramisu for the table too. The tiramisu came out first and holy cow...it was spectacular! The gelato came out a few minutes later and it was the only downside of the meal. It was clearly homemade but was over churned. It wasn't creamy or smooth and instead was like ice milk. I had two small bites and pushed it aside. My friend ate the gelatos and myself and other friend finished off the tiramisu. The restaurant at that point was packed for Restaurant Week which is why I'd made our reservation for early. We were done with our meal as the noise level hit an ear shattering level. Perfectly timed. It took a while to get our check. I don't think they expected the turnout they got. Once we did, we paid and made our way out completely sated and stuffed. I am absolutely going back to Truffle. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience and scrumptious meal!

Everything we ordered was amazing. The homemade gnocchi melted in your mouth. The chicken cotoletta topped with fig and burrata was full of flavor. Plus the truffle sorbet was the perfect end to wrap up a fantastic meal. Our server, Isabella, was very informative and attentive and made our experience that much more enjoyable. Even the owner stopped by our table to share his story. I would not hesitate to revisit this place the next time I’m in San Diego. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting authentic, homemade Italian cuisine.

My wife said it best tonight: this food tastes like someone cares. Like sitting at a great restaurant in Italy. Absolutely great dining experience. We recently found out Truffle was open and had to come in once we saw the menu. Italian classics with an upscale touch. We shared the coccoli toscani, the chicken cotoletta, and the gnocchi al pesto. We had never had coccoli, but we’re always down for fritters, and adding burrata and prosciutto to them made them a must-try. The plate was beautiful and they tasted even better. The chicken had a delicious burrata on top but the real kicker was the fig jam sauce! It added a great nutty sweetness to it without being overly sweet. My favorite, though, was the gnocchi. I love gnocchi and this was probably the best I’ve ever had. So light and pillowy. Gotta be the ricotta. And the pesto sauce was so light and creamy. Absolutely terrific. Nothing felt heavy and everything tasted like the chef and owner put great thought and care into the food. The interior of the restaurant is so cute. Like you can go here for a casual meal and also for a nice date. They have a little back area with a 12 person table that looks awesome. Great place for a party or special family/friends occasion. The service was terrific and friendly. We are DEFINITELY going back and checking out more of the menu. That bistecca alla fiorentina is calling my name! Great addition to the neighborhood. You gotta go!! *Update: and they now have happy hour!

Yelp
Dario was very nice & gave out good suggestions. The food came out fast and was very good. I like the aesthetic of the place.

Yelp
Dario was amazing, drinks bomb, and aesthetics are pleasing. We sat outside water stayed full. Nice place.

Yelp
Food 5/5 We had the cheese wheel pasta of the day (spinach, truffle, mushroom fettuccine) the linguini pescatorre and a limoncelo cake. All were delicious. Nothing too heavy, very flavorful. The dessert was just the right amount of sweet. The cocktails were reasonably priced and also refreshing. Service 5/5 Our server was Francesco. He was so attentive, and made sure our experience was top notch (my wife and I were celebrating a big life event). Ambiance 5/5 The entire place gave great mix of classy but still approachable. You could have a very romantic dinner here but also somewhere you could casually bring a group of friends to have a good time.

Yelp
So disappointed.. Our food was tasty, but not worth the $$$. The extra star was for the experience of seeing the cheese wheel and for some of the truffle flavors, which we enjoyed. However, for a place that's named after the mushroom, they did a mediocre job of making their truffle flavors stand out. Also, our server upsold the truffle and the sausage in the cheese wheel by talking extremely fast and in circles, which was confusing, so I just went with it. It ended up costing almost $70. Again, it was good, but not THAT good. The steak tartare came with 3 little pieces of not-so-toasted crostinis. Why skimp on the cheapest ingredient? We were also confused about the chicken parm.. I guess you only get chicken and have to order pasta for an extra $4. Strange. Honestly, though, the worst part was the service. Our server pressured us to get bottled water instead of tap. He took forever to bring us anything and would swing by real fast asking if everything was good and leave immediately. And he almost refused to let me order the mango mule because it was not one of the 2 cocktails he recommended (spritzer & sangria). He gave us unsolicited recommendations, then when I asked what was in the mule, he straight up refused to tell me. My friend at the table had to explain because he just said that it's not what he prefers and left it at that. Bro, we never ASKED you what you preferred. When I said that I wanted the mule, he responded, "The spritzer?" Wow. To top it all off, he misgendered my friend and kept spitting while he was talking. It was my partner's birthday, and the server said he would bring something out. We had paid, left a good tip, and waited for about 25 minutes before giving up, leaving without the birthday treat. All while watching him check on every table but ours. We tried being empathetic throughout the experience. Maybe he was having an off night. We noticed someone he knew was double parked in front of the restaurant and left after a bus honked at it several times. Overall, it felt like they were skeezily trying to get us to spend as much money as possible. Bummer way to spend almost $400. Would not recommend.

Yelp
Dario was amazing! We so enjoyed the service and pasta with truffle in cheese wheel. Tiramisu was as traditional as I tried in Italy (almost ) Will be back soon!

Yelp
I'm a HUGE lover of truffle and after having a bite from their cheese wheel gnocchi sample from the Taste of North Park event, it was one of the most memorable places that stood out! I really wanted to check this place out one day, and luckily, the my friend actually suggested this restaurant to celebrate her birthday in January! It's located next to Shop Good and Street Side Thai Kitchen on University Avenue in North Park. There's only street parking around the area and could be hard to snatch a spot during dinner rush hours and weekends. Luckily, we were able to find a spot on the corner of the block fairly quickly! I got their Fettuccine Truffle Creamy with Chicken pasta. I was super excited because again, LOVE truffle and after seeing the cream sauce had some truffle flavoring, I had to get it! The pasta noodles were wide fettuccine noodles rather than the normal sized noodles I'm used to (peep at pic). And honestly, I love wider noodles so I was excited. Unfortunately, my pasta (and also my other friends with the fettuccine outside of the cheese wheel pasta), was undercooked and stuck together, making my entire pasta kind of clumpy and weird to eat. I had to separate the pasta noodles to enjoy my meal a little more with the sauce around. But it was still kind of hard to eat because of how undercooked my pasta was. The sauce was good but wasn't the best as it wasn't thick to coat all the noodles. I felt the reason for that was because of the watery consistency of the sauce, which was probably why the pasta also clumped up? My cousin who also got the same pasta as me mentioned agreed to the watery consistency of the sauce. There also was no truffle flavor (maybe just a teeny tiny splash of it) in the cream sauce which made me kind of sad as I was looking forward to that noticeable hint of flavor. My friends got their Fettuccine Truffle Creamy (x2) with Shrimp or Burrata. The shrimp was obviously the small frozen bag of shrimps with no seasoning on them. I felt that the extra $9 for the shrimps was not worth it whatsoever due to the lack of flavor for the high price tag. The burrata was bland and didn't have that beautiful cheesy goodness that I was used to. The others got their Pappardelle Short Rib (this was probably the best of all the pasta I tried - flavorful and tender short rib sprinkled around the pasta) and Paccheri Pink Vodka with Meatballs (I tried barely had a taste of this, but it very creamy and tasty!). The last two were probably better pastas taste wise compared to the white pastas all of us ordered. I didn't try their pasta noodles either as they also mentioned theirs were undercooked and clumpy. I didn't get to try the last friend's Garlic Bread as she couldn't eat the main entrees (can't remember the reason why), but she said she liked the breads! The birthday girl got the Cheese Wheel which came with really delicious cheese from the wheel and also shaved truffle! This was actually the best dish out of everything I tried (besides the complimentary bread; that butter was delicious!). It was $55 the night we went. I didn't try the noodles because mine wasn't all that great, but the cheese and shaved truffles, were delicious! So much that I asked if I could have more cheese LOL. But I felt that the price was kind of high even for this dish. I'm not sure if it's because we were the last party of 7 to arrive an hour before closing that the quality of the food wasn't as great, but it shouldn't have been an excuse as we were done eating by about 9:10pm. We had to pay a mandatory 3.95% service fee to offset whatever, which was fine, but I felt that our food should have been the best (or better) quality with the price of the food and extra service charge. Our server (only server actually) was quite nice and made our experience with the cheese wheel quite memorable, so shout out to him! He also brought out a complimentary birthday tiramisu cake for the birthday girl which was quite nice! But he took away our water canister immediately after we paid, and we didn't have any water to drink as we ate the tiramisu and chatted a little longer. I also did the Yelp check-in for a complimentary Coccoli after asking our server about it but never received it. I really wanted to come back after the Taste of North Park sampling they had (cheese wheel gnocchi) that I fell in love with but after this dinner experience, I was quite saddened by the vast difference in quality of the regular pastas and cheese wheel pasta. I would like to say my friends and I came on an off day night, and I hope the quality would be better in the future.

Yelp
The food was incredible! The cheese wheel paste, the meatballs, the cheese garlic bread and chicken Parmesan all were delicious. Portions were large so I have a tasty lunch for tomorrow. Our server Piper was attentive and brought our drinks and food out quickly. Checked in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. Very friendly and invited us back. The restaurant was comfortable and clean. We will be back with more friends to enjoy this wonderful restaurant!

Yelp
Came here for Happy Hour due to reviews. It's quite disappointing. We ordered 3 happy hour bites, they were just okay and portions were small. We put it another order of the calamari and truffle fries, took over 30 mins to come out along with 2 pastas. The pastas were not al dented and service is disappointing. No updates on the foods whatsoever. Will not be returning and will go back to Little Italy for better Italian options. This was just underwhelming. There were influencers dining in and they were more attentive to them (they came in after we did). There were customers waiting much longer than we were. While servers were friendly the service was subpar. Had to ask for our check multiple times... **Note to get the free cocoli, you'll need to write a review... It probably explains why the positive reviews....

Yelp
Came here for restaurant week and had a wonderful time. We started with the Coccoli Al Tartufo and the Truffle Burrata, both perfect appetizers. I got the cocoa e pepe gnocchi and each bite was pillowy heaven, and the flavor was amazing. We ended with the tiramisu which was fluffy light, and delicious! We also got a bottle of wine to share! Such a fun spot for a nice night out, the service was excellent too! Can't wait to come back to try more of the menu!

Yelp
You have to try the fettuccine in the Parmesan mixing bowl, Delicious and so creamy, you've never had anything like it. And the lemon cello cake is to die for. We have visited this restaurant 4 times and every time it just seems to get better and better. Piper is a great waitress and we always ask for her section.

Yelp
Idk. Maybe I am just having bad luck with this place. This time around I avoided the gnocchi as it was a major disappointment last time. This time I got the tartufo pizza. Had good truffle flavor but was very rich and super salty so I wouldn't get it again. So that's two dishes now that I got and didn't like A friend got the cheese wheel pasta and that was very good. I really want to like this place but it's not easy considering my go to Italian dish of gnocchi is a major miss here and the pizza also wasn't good. If it wasn't for the other food I'd give it one star. Service is great and on Wednesday the wine is half price. So maybe next time I go here I'll just have wine and eat dinner somewhere else. Ha ha.

Yelp
Ambiance of the place is great. Our server, Lana, is super nice and friendly. We ordered the pasta of the day in a cheese wheel which was divine! The mushroom pasta was amazing on first bite however the more I ate it the saltier it gets. I didn't wanna bother or complain since it might just be a personal preference but Lana noticed it and was very apologetic about it. She even had the manager speak to us to understand what was wrong with the food to make it better. I appreciate their willingness to want to give me a better experience both Lana and her manager was super nice and they even took off the mushroom pasta off our final bill. I will definitely try to give this place a second chance when I come back to San Diego.

Yelp
Came here in a group of six for dinner tonight. We all thought the food was decent, but sadly the service was terrible. I understand it was busy on a Saturday night during Restaurant Week, but we were pretty much ignored the entire dinner. We had to ask for water more than three times, and when they finally brought it 30 minutes later, it was only enough water to fill two glasses.. Everyone is also supposed to get complimentary bread and butter when you sit down, but they don't bring it out unless you ask- we got it after entrees and dessert lol. One of my friends ordered the prix fixe restaurant week menu that came with tiramisu as dessert, but we all sat there for 30 minutes after the rest of us finished dinner waiting literally just for that. It didn't come out until we asked for that too. I think they completely forgot about the last course of their menu, because the server seemed shocked when we asked about it. I ordered the burrata caprese "salad" but what I got was more like half a ball of burrata and two leaves for $22 lol. Nothing like the other pictures I saw on Yelp, or even the table next to us who ordered the same thing. It seemed like they gave me the portion of the burrata caprese that was on the restaurant week prix fixe menu and not the entree from their regular menu. I brought this up to our server after dinner, and he mumbled "I guess the kitchen made a mistake," entered in a 30% discount for the dish, and glared at us. My other friend ordered the short rib dish, but when the server arrived with the dish, he yelled "Pappardelle". When we looked at him confused and asked "is that the short rib?", he yelled again "Pappardelle" at us two more times until another server came to help him. It doesn't help to keep repeating yourself when everyone is confused and asking you to clarify. The whole interaction was bizarre and kind of humorous. Also when we asked for the free coccoli from the Yelp Check In, our server told us it was only 1 for the entire table, despite what it says on Yelp. It honestly seemed like the servers couldn't care less about us because they were already going to charge us an automatic 20% gratuity fee + 4% surcharge fee anyways. Overall, good albeit expensive pasta, nice ambience, but in terms of service, they were fully incapable of meeting the bare minimum. 2/5. Would not come back and would not recommend Truffle to anyone else.

Yelp
This is a really difficult one to write because some things were excellent, but overall - it was just 'meh'. And if you charge a lot of money for 'meh' - that's an issue. Presentation of the food was excellent. Highly recommend the zucchini blossoms - just excellent. I don't recommend their garlic bread which was a $9 mess. The sauce that accompanies the garlic bread was amazing. That's the theme of this review - you'll get something that will knock your taste buds out - followed by what the heck is this?!! As an example, my dish, Linguine Pescatore, excellent pasta - fantastic really - the sauce was amazing, and the seafood tasted like it came from Costco. And this San Diego. Look closely at the picture at the tiny salad shrimp, tiny scallops - and it all tasted frozen. Our entire meal was like that - you'd get something amazing followed up by 'WTH'? The only dish on the table that got a 10/10 score was the King Salmon - but the rest of us 5/10. Ambiance is amazing, they've done a great job on the interior of the restaurant. I would highly recommend eating inside the restaurant. We also had the added bonus of a drunk guy from Thai Street Kitchen next door who gave a running play by play of our meal while eating it. Trying to convince us that the Thai Street Kitchen had better food - it was that obvious we were struggling to get through our meals. At the time, I found it highly annoying, but today, maybe we SHOULD have taken the advice of a drunk man. Truffles needs to work out some 'kinks'.

Yelp
A nice rustic restaurant in the heart of North Park, serving up delicious Truffle decorated Italian dishes. - PARKING - Probably the hardest part of eating in North Park is the parking situation. All street spots next to restaurants are usually taken, and then the neighboring streets are also packed as well. I had to circle around 3 times before finding a spot about a block and a half away. - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - There's a small outdoor patio area for dining, and inside there's a variety of seating options for smaller parties and larger ones. There's a tucked away corner for a more private dinner party, seating about 12. The staff was very welcoming from the moment I stepped up to the hostess counter and throughout the entire meal service. There was a small delay getting our entrees, but with a large party and other customers, I could see how things could get backed up. - FOOD - Truffle Experience: Very unique dining experience, just be ready to pay the premium for what you get! We were able to taste a variety of dishes, but the ones that stood out were: - Truffle Fettuccine: Super creamy, super truffle-y, and no skimping on the truffle shavings on top! - Filet Mignon: The meat was very tender and the sauce flavor was delicious! - OVERALL - If I feel like treating myself or another friend out on a fancy dinner, this may be on the list!

Yelp
The more I think about this, the more frustrated I get. We were overcharged, plain and simple. That's not okay. Okay, the food was good.. pasta was fresh and perfectly done. The Truffle Caesar ($14) salad was really fresh, and nice. Best dish was the Pollo Fiorentino ($28) -- superb. Pass on the Funghi Ripieni ($22).. stuffed mushrooms, nothing remarkable, pretty oily. Let's talk about the "special".. the "Lobster fettuccine", not on the printed menu. The waiter described the specials, including the "market price" cheese wheel pasta. (And why is cheese MP? Does the MP of parmesan vary by season or something?) All the specials are the same price, he kept repeating, being $55. Including the Lobster Fettuccine, a serving of pink sauce pasta with half a lobster. The pasta was great, the lobster was ... just a waste. It was terribly overcooked, to where most of it was a shriveled dry sprig of lobster jerky, soaked in oil, served hidden by a very pretty large shell that makes everyone go "Oooo.. I want that". It was more Puerto Nuevo style, cut and deep fried. Maybe that's just how it is, but there wasn't a lot to enjoy.. could have been dried chicken in there. Not pre-scored or provided with crackers, so just an oily mess to eat by force. Pity the date-night crowd trying to make this dainty -- it's a hot mess, and not worth the work. When it's time to check out, you get this Toast terminal that has ONLY the Total price and the 18/20/25% tip selection. Tap your card, email your tab if you want, and off you go. Imagine the surprise when I come home to email showing the Lobster Fettuccine was not $55 but $72.95! That's not cool. You don't print the price on the menu, fine, but then your waiter has to be truthful about what it is! I could have caught this on check-out except they don't show you the itemized tab at all. The final kick in the pants? A 3.95% "Surcharge" that wasn't listed anywhere on the menu or information. I get it, yeah yeah, it's not illegal until July, but it just stings when they already overcharged me $18 for my entrée.. the cost of a whole appetizer or cocktail, now charged a bonus 4% for the .. whatever, on top of the tip for the incorrect service. (Tip auto-calculated inclusive of Tax and Service Charge, naturally.) Not a fan of this Italian "Toast" surprise, at all.

Yelp
Our visit to Truffle left much to be desired. Despite reserving the "Truffle Experience" through OpenTable, we were disappointed to discover upon arrival on February 14th that only a Valentine's Day fixed menu was available. When we inquired about the Truffle Experience we had booked, our waiter informed us that the kitchen was exclusively offering the Valentine's menu for the day. Arriving for our reservation at 6 pm, we were dismayed to find that several items from the Valentine's menu were already sold out, significantly limiting our dining options. One would expect a restaurant named Truffle to excel in showcasing truffle-infused dishes. However, the presence of truffles in our plates was disappointingly minimal. Opting for additional truffles at an extra cost of $15 per plate did little to enhance the flavor or value, as only a scant amount of shaved truffles adorned my pasta. While it is possible that the shortcomings were exacerbated by the Valentine's Day rush, the service was noticeably sluggish, and the kitchen appeared overwhelmed and disorganized. Surprisingly, tables seated after us received their orders much quicker, further adding to our frustration. In a redeeming gesture, our server Ricardo displayed kindness by offering us a complimentary glass of wine to compensate for the inconvenience

Yelp
Vibe is cute and trendy, good ambience and tables aren't too close together. PSA that there is not happy hour everyday, It says there is on the website, I believe just M-Th. We sat inside but both areas were good. We got a burrata salad with heirloom tomatoes and ended up sending it back twice. The first time there was 1 half slice of random tomato under the burrata (not an heirloom), we asked for more tomatoes, then it came back with zero tomatoes this time, finally we made it clear we like tomatoes and it came back with 2 slices of tomato that didn't look heirloom. They fixed it but still lackluster and could definitely make that dish a 10/10. Then we got Coccoli Toscani which was pretty good. The Parmesan wheel pasta was unreal, flavor was top notch. It was truffle with mushrooms and spinach, so good. Cons are it's $46 a bowl and pasta was overcooked. Limoncello cake was great and tiramisu had good flavors but was frozen in the middle. Slightly let down but this place does have potential.

Yelp
Came to try some Italian food, and I was not disappointed. The interior is very cozy and well decorated. From the start the waitress was so friendly and helpful. The food came out quickly and were all so delicious. I would definitely be back!

Great food. Must have the cheese wheel Terricone. Dario is the best server ever! All the food came out perfect. Even expresso martini was amazing!

Yelp
We had a disappointing San Diego Restaurant Week (SDRW) dinner here in September 2023.  One of the things I enjoy about SDRW is trying restaurants for the first time, and Truffles seemed to have promise with its menu. But there were major disconnects between the SDRW Dinner menu and some of the items served. Our expectation was that there'd be more truffles in the items with "Truffles" in their names. Truffles were non-existent. Service was good.  Interior decor was nice, but the noise level was very loud thanks to all of the hard surfaces.  Street parking only, but I found a space about three blocks away.

Yelp
Food = 5/5 Service = 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 There's nothing better than fresh, homemade pasta and this place did not disappoint. I ordered the cheese wheel pasta of the day which was fettuccine. The cheese wheel experience starts table side where they bring out the giant wheel of cheese and toss the pasta in to coat it all with the melted cheese. They then take the thick noodles of pasta out of the wheel and serve it on a plate with truffle shavings on top. It was rich, luscious, cheesy and so delicious! I also tried a couple starters- the Squash Blossoms and the calamari, both of which were excellent and recommended! The service was attentive and I appreciated the birthday surprise at the end. All in all, we had a great evening and would definitely come back.

Yelp
A lovely date spot with very cute decor and ambiance. We came for happy hour and ordered calamari, truffle fries, and a seafood pasta. Are were absolutely delicious! The service was also excellent, the waiters attentive. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
I was very disappointed with the food and service a few months ago. I left an honest review and Melissa G. responded with a comment. She mentioned that she sent me a direct message which instructed me to contact her via text to arrange a tasting so the restaurant can make up for their previous shortcomings. After many back and forth texts, I was able to find a free day for the tasting and she never responded. I tried to contact her two more times and I still have not received a response. Once again, I am very disappointed in the lack of follow through and professionalism from this restaurant and their employees.

Yelp
This restaurant must be owned by a real Italian! It's located on a main street near el cajon. I was there because it was before going to the airport and on my way from where i was staying so i benefited from an early dinner super late lunch because i wanted to try it and they start at 4pm. I also benefited from their happy hour menu which was a pleasant surprise! First, the decoration was lovely! Nice brick walls, two sides to the restaurant, pretty decorations, good date place. The waiter was a young Italian guy, very nice. The music: i think because it was lunch it passed , it was kind of like Italian rap"ish" but i hope they put classy Italian music at night for dates. At least that is my advice for them in case they dont already do that. The food was very good. The squash flowers were quite sweet due to the sauce on them but im sure they can do them without the sauce or with less. Just something to note. The mushroom soup was good according to my friend. The pastaaaaa... on the cheeseboard..... well there is only one option "of the day" which happened to be a truffle/cheese pasta so i was happy it was a vegetarian option! I dont know the price but i got it for half off due to the happy hour so also something to remember if you want to consider opting in for that fun! We didnt try the deserts and the coffee was ok. I would def return.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place since I have a terrifying addiction to truffle but sadly it was not on par. Service was ok and they charged us 20% because there were 6 ppl in our party. There was also a 4% service fee on top of that. Please just increase your menu prices and not charge us a hidden fee. I asked the waiter how much to add shaved truffles to my pasta n he said $75 for white and $35 for black. I passed on the addition but look at this the pasta comes w shaved truffles. I can't believe he was going to charge me extra. Not cool. The bathroom was unkempt.. no seat covers and no paper towels.Wth. I judge a restaurant on how they take care of the bathrooms and this was not good. Hopefully you get a better experience than I did.

Yelp
Tried this place with my friend tonight and was surprised when we received our check. The ambiance in the restaurant was very nice and trendy and the service was good. We shared the truffle Caesar salad and each had our own pasta. The pasta was good. I noticed on the menu that you can add shaved truffle to your pasta so both my friend and I did. We had no idea the shavings would cost $20 each ($40 for a small amount of shaved truffle on top). Overall the food was good, but i wasn't blown away and I do think it was overpriced. I also think the price for shaved truffle should be on the menu or mentioned when asked. The truffle cost the same price as my entree.

Yelp
I don't know where this all good review come from not fresh pasta not house made store bought style and over priced! Taste nothing special Not worth it they won't tell you about extra charges but will come ask you if you want truffle on top of your pasta! Never coming back here again

Yelp
I've been here twice and tried their dinner and brunch items! The space it pretty cute and I like the private table they have in the back. Let's start with my dinner visit when I shared artichoke alla romana, pici cacio e pepe, and scallops dishes. We were given some complimentary toast and truffle butter to start with. We both got an Aperol Spritz, but mine was a mocktail version. My drink was refreshing and bread was nice and crispy. Our entrees were small, but presented beautifully. The food was enjoyable. For dessert, we opted for the tiramisu and it was pretty good. I wanted to check out their brunch menu, so I came here about a month later. Hubby wanted to try the truffle chilaquiles, but they were out, so that was a bummer. He ended up choosing the steak and eggs, but his steak was well done and he asked for rare. It's nice that you can add fresh truffle to anything! My delmonaco benedict was topped with tuffle and caviar, but it was lacking flavor. The charcuterie board was better though. Overall, I would come back for dinner, but not for brunch.

Yelp
What a fabulous experience! This place was stunning and had a very delicious looking menu with a huge variety. The appetizers were both good, the squash blossoms were perfectly fried and the cheese inside was so fantastic, the fig jam really complimented it very well. The coccoli was really good, tasted like a savory donut, definitely recommend. The service in my opinion was a bit slow, we did not receive our cocktails until after we finished our appetizers. Our dirty plates were not taken away for quite a while, and our water took even longer to refill as well. My friend spilled a little bit of her drink on the table and no one came by for quite some time, so I ended up wiping down the table myself. This would of been a 5 star experience if the servers were a bit more attentive, and checked on us more often. Other than that, the cheese wheel definitely caught our eye! It was fabulous that they bring out the cheese and do it all in front of you! We also ordered the steak which was also cut in front of us and set on a hot stone. It was quite the show! The steak was outstanding! My friend and I both agreed it was some of the best steak we've had, it was super tender and the sauce that came with it was excellent. The cheese wheel in my opinion was just okay, the fresh pasta was wonderful but the sauce was a bit bland. We also barely got any shaved truffle on top. We were offered complimentary deserts for our birthday and WOW, the cheesecake was the BEST I've ever had. It was outstanding and it was a great ending to a fabulous meal. Overall, I really enjoyed this place. It was surprisingly very affordable for the quality and quantity of food. I'll definitely return to try more of the menu!

Yelp
Came here based on social media reviews and was very excited to try this spot. Came on a quiet weeknight and the place wasn't busy at all. Service was great but the food was underwhelming. Got the truffle fries, the bread plate and then wanted to try the cheese wheel pasta. We got the tail end of the wheel and it wasn't the experience we expected. Don't get me wrong truffle flavor was great and I wasn't too impressed. I think the fries were the best thing we ordered. Id still want to come back to try other dishes. Food 2/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance n/a

Yelp
Positives: - Complimentary Coccoli Toscani with a Yelp check-in - Definitely can taste the truffle flavor! Would recommend for a truffle lover like me - Good wine selection - Vegetarian and gluten-free options - Easy to make an online reservation for with OpenTable - Attentive service - Trendy inside decor (would look nice for an Instagram picture) Negatives: - Loud environment - Need to go down a street or two for side street parking - Mixed drinks watered down (Note: Also did not card us. While both my partner and I are 21, we found it questionable that our server didn't ask to see our IDs, especially because I look a bit younger. I know some people don't find issue with this, but we just want to point this out for owners, etc.) - Parmigiano Wheel doesn't come with an experience you get likewise to other restaurants. You don't get to see them mix all the ingredients in, or light the cheese with fire, etc. It was more of the pasta already being inside of it, and they just mix it and shed the truffle on top - No vegan options - Limited vegetable sides - Pasta is not on the thick side - Gnocchi Cacio e Pepe a little over peppered

Yelp
The food and the ambiance was incredible. Our server Francesco was a great server, even being his last night, he made our dining experience very enjoyable. Piper made us feel welcomed and had great conversations with us throughout our dinner.

Yelp
Great ambiance, excellent service by the server Dario! The food is in a different level! We did the 5 course meal. From start to finish, the food was excellent. 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
I've been seeing posts on Instagram about Truffle, and I finally tried it last night. The service was great. Everyone was nice and friendly, especially Piper. The place was pretty packed, and we didn't have a reservation, but they had a couple of empty tables, so we were seated right away. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated outdoors, but it looked pretty decorative inside. We tried the Truffle Fettuccine and the Ribeye Siciliana. They each tasted good on their own, but they also compliment each other very well. The pasta was very creamy with just enough Truffle. You can order extra shaved Truffle but I was worried that it would be too overwhelming. The steak was served on a hot stone. It was topped with a mushroom sauce that complemented very well. When we first got it, the steak was already a medium, and by the time we finished it, it was more on the medium well side. So if you like your steak medium, you might wanna take it off the stone not to overcook. The steak also came with a side of fries. That I was not a fan of. Sadly, It tasted like it needed to be cooked for a couple more minutes. Overall, it was a good experience, but a bit on the pricey side.

Yelp
What an amazing find! We could not decide on where to eat, and saw this beautiful restaurant and decided to give it a try. The decor is beautiful and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I have never had truffle before and honestly had to Google what it was, lol. I had a Ceasar salad and it was possibly the best. The food had either a hint of truffle or truffle. I checked in on Yelp and as a thank you for checking in, the restaurant offers a free dessert! This was a very warm and welcoming dinning experience and made my short vacation in San Diego wonderful.

Yelp
This place left the best impression. It's not only cute and nice inside but the items we tried were incredible. They deserve an award for their carbonara pasta! I will admit it's not an authentic carbonara since they add truffle but damn, the truffle in it really made it extra special. The truffle sausage flatbread was delicious as well and the calamari a hit. Kudos on the wine list. This was definitely a treat and if you're in the mood for pasta, give it a try!

Yelp
Another SD Diaries so far! Plus the outdoor seating is super nice, and the ambiance very classy restaurant, and the service is super friendly, and I just ordered the steak tartare, crab cakes.

Yelp
The cheese wheel pasta was incredible. I personally added chicken and devoured it. My wife and my cousin ordered the same thing and we did not have any left overs. The waitress was great. She kept the espresso martinis coming. We went on a less busy evening so there was plenty of seating. We made a reservation just in case but it wasn't needed. We would come back again.

Janet M.

Yelp
Hits the spot. And all the wait staff is so friendly, especially Lena. Tasty food and portions that are actually worth the price they charge...unlike so many other restaurants in SD.

Yelp

Yelp
This space used to be the home of North Park Sushi & Grill before Truffle Neighborhood Cucina took over and opened about three months ago. San Diego Dining Group is the owner of this new truffle-themed venture. They have experience with other Italian eateries around town such as Osteria Panevino (Gaslamp), Rusticucina (North Park), and Allegro Restaurant and Bar (Little Italy). There was a small outdoor patio out front for seating along with a rustically decorated interior dining area where I sat. Three truffle dishes were featured in the center of the menu. The other standard categories were antipasti, salads, soups, sides, entrees, and pasta. I selected the Grilled Octopus as an appetizer. The tentacle was placed on a puree base made of garbanzo beans with roasted bell peppers and chimichurri as the other components. The item was beautifully garnished on the center of the plate. My entree was the Scallops which was one of the truffle choices. Three pieces were placed on top of asparagus risotto soaked with truffle butter blanc. Microgreens were added to the top as garnishment. This dish was decadent and pricey with a $42 tag. I used some of the complimentary pieces of bread to mop up the creamy sauce before consuming. At the time of my visit, the waitstaff was still getting their feet wet as my primary server had to consult with the kitchen before responding to my menu questions. There is plenty of competition on this block of University Ave so Truffle Neighborhood Cucina does have their work cut out for them. I gave four stars for my dining experience.

Yelp
I went to Truffle Neighborhood Cucina in May 2023 to celebrate a friend's birthday. According to their website: - Welcoming & Snug Local Eatery (for culinary enthusiasts & wine aficionados) - Pays homage to TRUFFLE - "opulent ingredient" woven into dishes - Direct imports from Italy - Each dish is designed to blend culinary vision and neighborhood camaraderie My friends and I ordered a few dishes to share family style: - Zucchini Blossom (Appetizer) - Friturra Di Calamari (Appetizer) - Wild Boar Papardelle - Scallop Risotto - Daily Pasta Special - Rare Red Blend (Red Wine / Meritage) Meal & wine was wonderful! Service was great and ambiance was cozy. I definitely had a warm feeling in the restaurant. Yelp
I came to have some drinks during Happy Hour with my sister and had the best time. Their happy hour is great - 50% off drinks from 4pm to 6pm, Monday thru Friday. We spent more time than we anticipated there because they treated us so well. They gave us to try the focaccia bread with truffle butter (to die for) and the bruschetta which is also made with focaccia (also bomb!). I really want to go back to try their freshly made pastas!

Yelp
We are here from out of town. Such an amazing experience the staff went above and beyond the food was just out of this world The flavor of everything was just amazing and the ambiance was very nice just a little dark. Stepheno was just such an amazing server. Will come back for sure when we are back in the area.

Yelp
Celebratory birthday dinner for a good friend and fellow Yelper. The restaurant is located in a busy area with plenty of options if you are not a Truffle connossieur or Italian. However, my friend wanted Italian and her hubby reserved this place. It was a small group on a weekday so service was efficient. First drinks, I chose the cocktail, some had a bottle of wine to share between 3 people. We ordered to share - zucchini blossoms and the grilled octopus. Both were delightful to start the meal. Each of us ordered our individual entrees, both my friend and I enjoyed the scallops with asparagus risotto (one of the truffle dishes), another seafood truffle fettucine and finally the last order was wild boar papardelle. We all got a taste of each other's order and almost all of us finished our dishes. The starters were also good, I would prefer more char on my octopus but it was cooked right. And since it was the birthday of one of our friends, they came out with a tiramisu cake with the Happy Birthday song1 It was a good and rich (in calories) experience. Parking is not too bad on a weekday and there is a garage a block away. The location needs more visibility since you can miss it if you are looking for a more prominent sign. There is a small outdoor patio in front if you want to eat alfresco.

Yelp
When I found out San Diego was opening a restaurant that served everything with truffle, I knew I had to try. If you're a truffle lover, you would absolutely love this place! Located in the heart of North Park, everything from the service and ambience was perfection. Also, if you check in on Yelp, you get a complimentary coccoli tosconi. My cousin and I split that, the burrata salad, truffle fries, scallops, fettuccini pasta, and the bistecca alla fiorentina. If you order the bistecca alla fiorentina, they cook it in front of you and serve it with truffle sauce, mushroom sauce and a side of roasted potatoes. My personal favorite was the scallops. Everything we devoured had different levels of truffle flavor. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ I highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you're a truffle lover.

Yelp
My boyfriend brought his family here for his sister's birthday. I couldn't make it so I called in to have paid dessert brought to the table. The people I spoke with were so incredibly nice and helpful! They did an amazing job surprising her with lemon cheesecake and tiramisu, both recommended by the person I spoke with on the phone. The family also loved the food they ordered. What a lovely neighborhood gem with excellent service.
