My husband and I (more me than him) are VERY picky when choosing a restaurant, especially for a special occasion like our Anniversary. It took us weeks to finally decide on this restaurant. We always look at the menu (food and prices) before we go so there won't be any surprises. This restaurant is an excellent choice for several reasons...
When we got there 15 minutes ahead of our reservation, we were seated right away with our table ready for us. I thought that we were going to wait because it was crowded and busy, but we didn't. We had an Anniversary card with rose petals on our table. Each staff member signed the card which was a great touch. Christi was our server. The service was slow and my husband agreed. It was busy, so we didn't complain. The ambiance was DARK. We wasn't able to get decent pictures because it was dark. When we opened the menus, they lit up. Everything was still ok.
For the drinks, I ordered the Blackberry Bramble and he ordered the Hibiscus Fresca. We also ordered the Prime meatball appetizer. Everything took a while to come. Slow service once again but the drinks and appetizer were delicious. These were no ordinary meatballs. You will have to try it yourself to see what I mean.
For the main course I ordered the Petite Lobster Scampi and he ordered the Whitefish Ponchartrain. The scampi was phenomenal! The best lobster dish I ever had! I'm a salt sensitive person. I can't tolerate salty food. Seafood is usually too salty due to the heavy seasoning, but my dish was seasoned to PERFECTION! Not too salty AT ALL. I appreciate that soooooo much, y'all just don't know, lbvs! I had to stop eating at this one restaurant because all of their food was salty! What a shame because they have the potential to being a 5 star restaurant. Ok, back to this Truluck's review. My husband's plate was great as well, perfectly seasoned. Both dishes were delicious and flavorful without being too salty.
Christi brought out the baked Alaska for our surprise Anniversary desert. That was amazing too. You can definitely taste the liquor in that dessert. Delicious and with a kick at the same time. One of the best desserts I ever had!
The service was slow, but the food quality made up for everything! Everything was delicious and flavorful, right down to the parsley on my plate. Yes, I ate the parsley. This restaurant is pricey, but it is so worth it! I rather pay more for quality food than to pay less for food that's not good or too salty to eat. 5 STARS period! We will be back for more!
