Food-Related Nonprofit and Charitable Organizations to Donate to Around Atlanta During COVID-19 | Eater Atlanta

"A community farm and urban-agriculture education center that offers gardening and farming classes, sells produce at local farmers markets, and rents event space at its Collegetown farm in West End; it recently launched a mobile farmers-market initiative to bring fresh produce, cooking demos, and educational programming to schools, senior centers, and hospitals, and is fundraising to sustain that program." - Beth McKibben

Summer of 2022, my family and I attended a Soul Food Market. It was a great experience where we were able to local products and see the fruits of urban farmers.

We loved volunteering for Truly Living! Awesome organization and a great way to celebrate Earth Day.

The product is good, & when on-site couldn’t receive better service. Unfortunately, the inconsistency of when one can access their food (pickup varies according to weather), inconsistent means of communication (varies between erratic emails Or texts to manager who sometimes replies confirming I can pick up my food, other times I’m told to come a certain day then ghosted on) Leaves me wondering what exactly is this farm trying to do here. This community has to do better, just energetically it makes us all better. From a business perspective I’m appalled, from a integrity perspective, as this is food that my family paid for in advance & can’t access consistently… I’m disgusted. As CSA member, I really hate the first time experience I’m having with this place. **************UPDATE***************** It’s truly a blessing to have this CSA in our family’s kitchen. This business did a 360 in a matter of days - I’m just getting around now to update this, which is unfortunate because they have exceeded beyond every measure listed above in no time. Promptly responsive, incredibly flexible…I can’t rave any higher on the turn-around I’ve experienced here. It’s so refreshing to have their awesome food now reflect & align to the awesome consistent service received here.

Camp tlw is expensive for rich folks of course. My son has special needs like I told them. My son first day of camp was no nice after he tap staff they said he hit them and it was a liability and I need to pick him up now June 6. Don't bring your special needs kids to summer camp they even leave gate open so kids can run out.

My visit was peaceful. I enjoyed sitting in there in solitude. The beds could use some weeding. I'd like to volunteer my time to help with that. I was a bit disappointed that no one was there. :( But, I'll be back. 😊

Had a nice time with Otis and volunteering on the farm. Great place to learn about gardening and meet new friends! Hope to go back again soon!!

This farm is run by a lovely, devoted young lady. It's a joy to purchase her vibrant, healthy produce. Every week, she sells at the College town Farm Farmers Market.

Yelp
Awesomeness! Five stars absolutely MUST be doled out for a farm in the middle of downtown. Holla if ya hear me! This place rocks! They are growing all kinds of veggies and fruits, they host a summer camp for the kiddies, and they sell goods via a market on Fridays from 2 to dusk. Now you know this is the shiz-nigh-eee (stolen straight from Little Scrappy from Love and Hip-Hop, but I don't watch that...LOL). Chicken Little and her crew were running around doing their thing. That was cool. I don't know how I've never seen this place before, but kudos to Kathleen for organizing a volunteer event here and allowing us Yelpers to give our time to a very worthy cause. I will be supporting the market; you should too!

Yelp
There is nothing more special than knowing exactly where your food comes from and having it picked fresh for you that morning, or having some sage snipped fresh for you as you shop. This is what I experience every time I go to Truly Living Well. There are two locations, East Point on Wednesdays and Hilliard on Fridays. I feel like I am spoiling myself when I get my vegetables but really it's just self care.

Yelp
If you love organic same day picked fresh veggies, well here you have it! And if you are into juicing this is the place to go! I love everything about this place! The hours, the people the location and the food! You'll feel good the second you step on to their organic soil! It's soil with Soul! ‼

Yelp
We came from NYC to check out the Soil Festival and were blown away by the farm and the warmth/welcoming demeanor of those who were present. Beautiful, lush farm with carbon based agricultural practices and reddish-brown soil. Located a short uber ride or about 20-25 mins walk from Marta train station. Love it!

Yelp
Fresh local organic produce. They are open on Hilliard St. on Fridays from 2pm to dusk. Great variety of seasonal organic greens, collards, spinach, kale, arugula and more. A vendor offered free massages and there was a live demo from a raw food chef. They sell jams and preserves as well as great tasting zucchini sweet bread. Nice people and great customer service. I will definitely be back to enjoy the fresh produce before the season ends in November!

Yelp
Beautiful place with very friendly people who take you around the garden and show you the produce. The plums smelled so ripe and sweet. I reached after hours but they were still very happy to shower around. I'd highly recommend a this place, even if it's just to see how our food is grown.

Yelp
2nd Grade group went for a tour and farm to table lunch. It was great. My 7-year-old who claimed before he got there that he'd be bored, loved it as did all the kids. And the most amazing part, they ate a delicious nutritious meal that they loved. Will definitely go again and can't wait to sign my son up for camp in the summer.
