Finally made it out to Truly Pizza since the reservations are like months out and people rave about this place on Tiktok. But, not quite what I expected honestly. Service was good and beautiful views but the food is the main attraction, c'mon now.
Started off with the garlic pull apart bread and it was super solid. Soft, buttery, and packed with good flavor without feeling heavy. Easy to crush. We also got the classic chicken wings and honestly, these stole the show. Wings were fire. Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, seasoned really well, and just had that perfect balance of flavor.
Now for the pizzas. We tried the Champion Cheese since it won Best Pizza of 2024 but to be real, it was kind of a letdown. It was good, the crust was crunchy and airy which I liked, but the red sauce was missing something. It lacked that pop of flavor you expect. I did not really get much of the classic oregano or garlic spice, and lowkey curious what tomatoes they even use because it just felt a little flat. Not bad, just not crazy good either like I was hoping. The crispy pepperoni was solid, had the little pepperoni cups with the edges crisped up nicely, but the real one to go after is the spinach and artichoke pizza. That one hit different. Super creamy without being heavy, good balance of flavors, and honestly the best pizza we had out of the bunch. Truly Pizza has good energy, the spot is nice, and the wings alone make it worth coming back for. I would just pass on the hype for the Champion and stick to what they do best.
