Comedians Create Fake Trump Winery Billboard in Charlottesville, Virginia | Eater

"Fake ads imitating the winery's logo ran in local newspapers and on a roving Charlottesville billboard as part of a viral campaign for a Boycott Bigotry event organized by comedians Negin Farsad and Dean Obeidallah; the ads used a facsimile of the logo and provocative lines accusing the owner of racism (for example, suggesting the wines were 'aged with notes of [the owner's] racism') and urged people to stop supporting his bigotry. The stunt was deliberately launched in Charlottesville — chosen because the vineyard is near the site of last summer's violent white supremacist rally, an episode after which the then-president controversially described some participants as 'fine people' and later boasted about his nearby estate — framing the action as both a protest over conflicts of interest and a moral objection to bigotry. The organizers kicked off the campaign with a free local show and say they plan to stage similar comedy events and protests near other properties bearing the owner's brand nationwide." - Greg Morabito

Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Wants to Hire Foreign Workers as Servers and Cooks | Eater

"The winery owned by the president's son, Eric, filed a separate H-2 request earlier in the year to hire 23 foreign workers, part of a broader pattern of affiliated businesses seeking seasonal guest workers." - Erin DeJesus

Trump Winery Wants to Hire More Foreign Workers | Eater

"A Virginia winery bearing the president's name is seeking nearly two dozen additional seasonal H-2 visa agricultural workers to harvest grapes, offering $11.46 per hour for March through October positions. The operation says it has hired foreign guest workers every year since 2014 and argues it is difficult to find domestic labor for physically demanding, low-paying farm jobs, though critics highlight the irony given the president's prior rhetoric against foreign visa programs. The business is owned and operated by the president's youngest son, Eric." - Whitney Filloon

Google
We visited Trump Winery with another couple and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The setting is stunning—rolling hills, gorgeous vineyards, and views that make you slow down and take it all in. Lunch was delicious, perfectly paired with their exceptional wines. Every sip showcased the care, skill, and passion that clearly goes into their winemaking. The staff was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable, making us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. It’s clear they take pride not only in their wines, but in creating a truly memorable guest experience. We left with a few bottles to enjoy at home and can’t wait to come back. A must-visit in Virginia wine country!

Everything was perfect e.g price, food, seating, views, customer service, other visitors were friendly, easy access, good parking. Would go again. Only downside was the nuisance of the spotted lanternbugs. They were everywhere!

Google
Beautiful place to be with friends. You meet so many amazing supporters of freedom and a working economy!!! We were celebrating a 40th birthday and they made it so special. We loved the flat bread and charcuterie board. The bread is amazing BTW. A beautiful place and we will definitely be back when the vines are in full. Such an amazing place. Well done Eric!!

Google
Be prepared for a long drive up the mountain top .But well worth it. The views were spectacular. The parking lot is small. There is a nice gift shop for Trump wine souvenirs and self ordering wine and lunch at the wine counter. They will bring the food to you when it's ready. The food was delicious.well worth a visit .

Excellent food, wine, service, and gorgeous scenery. Reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

Google
Absolutely beautiful winery, the staff were gracious. The wines were all fantastic, and the staff spoke very highly of their boss, Eric Trump. Met a father of a groom from a wedding being held there, it was a beautiful Red White and Blue Americana themed wedding, and he was so happy to be there and said it was a perfect wedding venue.

Google
Massive estate but why wouldn't it be ... Very nice. Wines are mostly great. Worth the detour

Google
Trump Winery is our favorite winery in Virginia. On our last trip to Virginia we went there twice. It is so beautiful with plenty of seating. We most enjoyed the red wines. The people that work there are very knowledgeable about their wines. I've ordered twice online. There customer service has been very professional.

Yelp
We visited in early spring! The weather was perfect and the scenery amazing. Were purchased several wine, all whites and that did not disappoint. Crisp, cold, citrus and fresh are all words that come to mind. We enjoyed the hummus and charcuterie board. That was delicious as well! Overall, very pleasant and enjoyable!

Yelp
We loved this place! From the long drive up to winery, to the views, to the wine, to the charcuterie!!!! Leave politics out of it and just go enjoy this place! We loved it!

Yelp
You know you've reached the Trump Winery when you see American flags lining the fence at the road. The property is beautiful with a lake and grape field as far as you can see. Once we got to the Tasting room, it is a long, beautiful winding drive, we felt welcomed and comfortable at all times. We ordered a wine flight with two sparkling wines and two whites on the sweeter side. Then a Pesto Chicken Flatbread and a the Swiss BLT with cauliflower fritters and ranch. The flatbread and sandwich were delicious. The cauliflower fritters were just okay, they could use a buffalo or an asian spice on them for more flavor. The Trump Winery staff were super friendly, smiling, and very helpful during our time there on Monday, April 14th. The service was fast and friendly!

Yelp
Trump Winery in Charlottesville is a stunning vineyard with breathtaking views. We enjoyed a Taster's Choice Flight, and each wine was excellent. My favorite was the rosé, which was lightly sweet and incredibly refreshing. My husband preferred the Cabernet Sauvignon, which was rich and full-bodied. We also ordered the pita and hummus, which paired nicely with our wine. The staff was friendly and attentive, and everything; from the seating area to the restrooms, was clean and well-maintained. Most memorable of all were the spectacular views.

Yelp
I felt the wines tasted too young, they hadn't matured to an appropriate age, but that may be what this winery and their patrons like
google avatar

Yelp
We've been to a few wineries over the years. Trump winery offers several nice amenities. The most important being the wine: probably had a total of three bottles in my life, e.g., their Cab, Sauvignon Blanc and the nouveau blanc. They are all good--no complaints. Their award wall certainly provides the evidence of outstanding vino. The ambience of the tasting room, deck, gift shop, etc. are well appointed and pleasant. When I first approached the tasting room, the employees were busy with other patrons, so I bided my time looking at the menus. Eventually, I connected with one of the servers and asked for a sample of the Viognier. Too sweet! As my wife approached the bar, I asked for an other sample of the same. The server gave her a small sample. She agreed, a bit too sweet. We settled on the Sauvignon Blanc, which pared nicely with our mushroom and arugula flat bread pizza and salad. We enjoyed the food, and the view from the patio is spectacular. Definitely worth the trip!

Yelp
I would never dream of 3 stars and i almost have 1 star. The service was just awful with incredibly rude/arrogant tasting service. The manager did save us in the end but wow it needs new structuring and nicer people. That said, the place and location are superb. I was very excited to explore the facility and relax outside. For a Wednesday afternoon it was crowded. They no longer have the sweeter wines which bummed us. Every option was dry. I think there are opportunities here and it looks like they are still working out the kinks. I will return and hope it's a better experience.

Yelp
Beautiful grounds and views. Friendly staff and great wine. We came here for wine along with visiting other vineyards around the area but loved this one so much we came back the next day and had lunch and bought more wine. Highly recommend to make a trip here to relax and have vino.

Yelp
Being from California i am truly blown away!! The grounds are absolutely stunning!! And I would say better than what Napa has to offer!! Everyone was so friendly!! Especially Erin!! Hey girl hey!! She was so patient and helpful and just an absolute doll!! The food was delectable and paired nicely with everything that we were drinking.. On the note of drinking their wine was fantastic! Crisp whites, and soft reds!I didn't waste any time becoming a member!! The setting and ambiance of the winery is just so peaceful and enjoyable!! I love the main lawn with the Adirondack chairs. Fun for adults and kids alike! Can't wait for when my next time back will be!!

Yelp
What an amazing breathtaking scenery, from the drive to the location which was absolutely stunning. With a deep sense of place, Trump Winery ties together terroir and innovation, boasting nearly 200 acres of vines, large lakes, and spectacular rolling Blue Ridge views. Once on the grounds the sense of peace and tranquility. Driving up to the venue the collection of American Flags was very patriotic. I also loved the large American flag flowing in the wind, giving a very humbling and serene view. The staff is amazing, personable and knowledgeable in wines. We got a Flight of wines, which was superb. We left with several bottles of wine, shirts, hats and chocolate gold bars. The place is a magical and memorable experience. We love everything TRUMP! The TRUMP empire does everything with class and quality. Any visit to Trump Winery will be a treasured experience.

Yelp
Very nice place, great staff, beautiful views, good wine good pricing, a must visit if in the area

Yelp
Driving from Florida to Connecticut can be a lot, so making stops at special places always brightens up the road trip. That being said, we decided to stop here today. This was our first time going to Trump Winery. We have tried the wine before from our local liquor stores and had some shipped to our home...but visiting the winery is so much more than we could have imagined. The views are breathtaking, the inside is stunning, the food is perfect, the wines are sensational, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We will surely be back again. Thank you, Trump Winery, for a lovely lunch and wine tasting. God bless!

Yelp
In the Blue Ridge Foothills along Virginia's Wine Trail is an amazing winery. Just the stunning 1,300 acre estate-turned-winery is worth a visit for the views. The winery itself is located on the former private residence of John and Patricia Kluge, Albemarle Estate... The wine tasting "room" is the carriage house of that estate. It's impressive. The house is 26,000 square feet. The carnage house must be 15,000 square feet and is amazing. I've been in numerous impressive wineries on both coasts as well as Canada. This is more impressive than any I have seen. And the wine. I have tried some that are truly great. We bought some New World Reserve, a blend of mostly Merlot and Cab Franc is a favorite. We picked this up back before the 2020 election, but opened some after the 2024 election. I think this is one of the best Trump has to offer. I have yet to try the cidery, but it has to be good. You can order wine to be delivered to most states, so you don't have to travel here to taste... Trumps place is not far from Thomas Jefferson's winery which is one of the oldest in the country. It's good wine, not on par with Trumps but still worth a visit. If you go to Trump first, you will be underwhelmed by Jeffersons place. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy wine or happen to like amazing architecture and gorgeous views of the Virginia countryside.

Yelp
Coming here I really didn't know too much about the winery. I expected a smallish place, and the rolling hills filled with vines leading up to the large building. From their website: "We pride ourselves on creating the finest terroir-driven sparkling, white, and red wines, which have won numerous national and international medals and best-in-class designations. Planted with 227 acres of French vinifera varieties, Trump Winery is Virginia's largest vineyard and the largest vinifera vineyard on the East Coast." Yes, it is worth coming here. Having stayed for a night at the estate I passed on the tasting here and did not need the food either, so I cannot comment on that side of the experience. Otherwise, the gift shop, including the purchase of the Viognier wine I found to be my favorite, was all I was looking for. Service was friendly, and surprisingly low-key. Almost too low-key. When I asked for the wine, there was no push for an upsell on quantity. That's fine for me, but it almost felt awkward asking for three bottles. With Eric Trump being the President (of the winery that is) it was not surprising to see some St. Jude Children's Research Hospital stuff in the gift shop as well.

Yelp
Such a beautiful landscape and great service the wine was amazing! Brought some home but it went too fast!!! I cant wait to go back!
google avatar

Leigh R.

Yelp
Service and ambiance were amazing!!! The wines are delightful!! Nothing negative to report. Fabulous day! Dog friendly too!

Kara B.

Yelp
Everyone says it's the best. Tremendous. World-class. Believe me! Well... everyone must be drinking something stronger than wine, because this place? Total disaster. The wine? Weak. Very low energy. I've had better in a box from the grocery store. "Everyone loves it," they say -- not the people I know. Sad! The views are nice, sure, but you can't sip scenery. And the vibe? Cold. Like it was built to impress people who pretend they like wine but actually just want to brag about going to "Trump" Winery. It claims to be the biggest vineyard in Virginia. Okay. So what? So is the parking lot at Walmart -- doesn't mean I want to drink there. Everyone knows it's the best? No. Everyone knows it's the worst.
google avatar

CJ V.

Yelp
The wine was excellent and the views were amazing. We could have sat there all day enjoying the rolling green hills. We will be back.

Clayton B.

Yelp
This was the nastiest winery I have ever been to on the VA wine trail. Back when it was Kluge Estate Winery and Vineyard it was awesome and although tRump stole many of their recipes, they just don't stack up to what was there previously. Do yourself a favor and hit one of the other great wineries within minutes of this s#ithole.

Yelp
Amazing winery with beautiful views of Virginia countryside. Facility is well kept, clean and updated very nicely. Service is always outstanding! Winery serves pretty good food and is a great place to hangout with friends/family. Visit their Trump Cidery across the road and stay at the beautiful and romantic Trump Albemarle Estate for one of the best places to stay in the world. The service there cant be beat anywhere! This whole place id a great weekend getaway!

Sandra M.

Yelp
The most beautiful setting and all the red wines on the flight were extremely good! Service was good, the food showed up quickly and tasted delicious!
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
WOWZA! That's all I can say when it comes to the VIEW this is by far one of the BEST views of all wineries and the estate is just GORGEOUS! Photos don't do it justice but I tried! Service was fast, two separate bars to go to but all have wine flights and sell by the bottle. The food menu was large but we didn't have any food - just wine! This is a MUST DO on your winery stops!!!
google avatar

Yelp
I have been to this winery once before many years ago and recently revisited this weekend. It's even better than I remember it!! Ample views, vines, seating, and options. -The only complaint I could possibly have are the small amounts of bathroom stalls to the amount of people that visit this location!! I waited a bit to use the bathroom. Upon first walking into the main doors, the gift shop greets you. It's truly difficult not to get carried away with the bottles to take home, luxury bath robes, holiday decor such as ornaments; and pet collars. A couple steps further, and you have an option to move to your left or to your right into different tasting rooms and seating options with views and fire pits that warm up the entire area. I quickly got in line and waited a "normal" amount. It was certainly a busy weekend!! I ordered two tasting flights one red for my fiancé, and one customized flight for myself with sweeter white options and a sparkling rose! Each flight this weekend came with a signature, Trump Winery glass. We opted for a beautiful, larger red wine glass to take home with us. I Each flight had the option to select small pours or larger pours. I opted for the larger. Each flight was more than enough for us! Got a little buzz complimented with little bites to share. I ordered three food options: the charcuterie tray with meat and cheese, the artichoke fritters, and the chimmichurri steak flatbread. I was hungry....and I really fought myself hard to not order more. The options were really fantastic and upscale, even Caviar! The artichoke fritters were my favorite, coupled with a house made tzatziki with dill and garlic. I just might need to try recreate this recipe! The charcuterie has delicious cheese pairings, the smoked Gouda was my favorite! The cornichon pickles were so good! The stone ground Dijon too. The flatbread was crunchy on the edges and full of toppings! Certainly my fiancés favorite. We came the day after Thanksgiving, and it was really nice to see the amount of families throwing the footballs around, playing music, playing card, games, dressed nicely or just casual and of course it was difficult to find good outdoor seating. Also, it was a little chilly plenty of indoor seating was more than enough for us and we were able to walk around and really soak in the views which were really I could not state enough his house stunning the estate is. The service is fantastic. The lady who took my order was very hospitable and we got to talking and she wasn't rushing me to get to the next person. Clearly, customer service and care is important to the team.

Killer B.

Yelp
Went there the day before Mother's Day. We've been several times before. Always good with beautiful views, good food and wine of course.

Jeff B.

Yelp
Beautiful setting, service was excellent and friendly. I loved the 680 American Flags on each fence post.
google avatar

Christine A.

Yelp
All politics aside, this place is lovely. The grounds are absolutely impressive and the building screams luxury. We had the sparkling flight and a red flight and we loved them all. Complex, round and balanced were how we felt about 80% of what we tried. Courtney provided excellent service and we will definitely be back.

Jerri S.

Yelp
Food-service and mostly the view. They have wonderful wine. Their gift shop was a wonderful surprise. We definitely will be back again and again.
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
It's been a number of years since I've been there and the location is now up a giant hill at the renovated stables. It's absolutely beautiful and there is plenty of room to enjoy wine and scenery on any day. The food was disappointing! All of the food comes in disposable packages. For Trump, I expected legit plates. The description of the food is fancy with a variety of tastes, but it's poorly executed with over cooking or tiny portions (the pimento scoop was tiny!). Go for the wine and the scenery, don't bother with the food.

Betsey M.

Yelp
Love this winery! We were greeted with 100's of American flags on our drive in. Wine is delicious as is the food! Beautiful views and great indoor views with comfortable couches. Everyone who works there is so friendly. Highly recommend a visit.

Yelp
Hands down the most beautiful winery in Charlottesville. If you're in the area and are looking for amazing views with some amazing wine this is the place. Now I'm sure half the people won't visit here because of the name blah blah blah. But that's perfectly fine, It leaves the views and good wine for us who do want to enjoy it. Have been here multiple times when visiting the area and I definitely plan on going back in the future! The views are breathtaking. It's easy to just sit there for an hour and just stare off into the distance and just appreciate the beautiful scenery. The staff is always extremely professional and friendly and always goes above and beyond to make the experience top notch. I can't comment on the food as I haven't tried any of it but from what I see other people ordering and smelling it, it has to be good! But hopefully one time I'll give it a try for myself. Overall some of the most beautiful views, amazing wine and deserves every bit of 5/5 stars.

John F.

Yelp
The wine vineyard was an absolutely amazing experience. Brought my parents in law as they visited Charlottesville and they were extremely impressed with the size and quality of the estate. The wine, food, and atmosphere truly made the trip an incredible experience. The staff were extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. The cider tasting room just opened and was another great experience. 10/10 don't miss this trip if you are driving by.

Yelp
OMG this place it EPIC absolutely beautiful.... the grounds are magnificent.... the food and service are top notch.... I love it.... Joined the Wine Club too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
Excellent visit on a beautiful day! Food was good, lots of folks taking in a historical week, and great bubbles!
google avatar

Reina N.

Yelp
Beautiful views, excellent wine, tho they must work on the service. Hoping to visit again, to try their other selection of wine I didn't try on this visit.

Susan W.

Yelp
Outstanding Experience! The estate is absolutely stunning! I love the drive through the vineyards up the hill to the venue. The staff is amazing, personable and knowledgeable in wines. The wines are superb. We paired the wine with the charcuterie board which was delicious. Presentation was not lacking. The place is a magical and memorable experience. We love everything TRUMP! The TRUMP empire does everything with class and quality. We loved the large American flag It is a humbling and beautiful site to see the flag flowing in the wind and overlooking the most breathtaking views of the vineyard.
google avatar

Don B.

Yelp
Gorgeous property. The wine was amazing for 29 a bottle. I recommend the Sauvign Blanc

Cheryl S.

Yelp
What a beautiful place!! Long winding Drive lined with American flags up to a lovely building, which is spotless. Very good food and wine and a cozy fireplace in the winter. The new cider building STUNNING! Great views

Genna H.

Yelp
Was really looking forward to this visit, but unfortunately was very disappointed. Two people in our group threw up due to the winding road to the top. The wine was ok but nothing special, but the worst is that there were stink bugs all over the place! We sat near the windows and there were dead stink bugs littered all over the windowsill. I even had one fall from the ceiling into my arm as I was having a sip of my wine. If it was warmer it would have been nice to sit outside, but it was very cold and there were no fire pits, heaters or blankets to make us cozy. Given the other options in the area, I would certainly recommend trying other spots.
google avatar

Cindy S.

Yelp
Beautiful landscape!! Service was meh. Nice staff for sure but they don't serve you at your table/seat. You have to go get everything yourself. The food was just like a grocery store charcuterie board on like paper plates. Not as fancy as I would of liked for a winery. But great atmosphere! And such a lovely view. Still worth the trip to go.

M C.

Yelp
Excellent pimento cheese spread, beautifully decorated, spacious, love all the flags leading up to the winery.

Michael M.

Yelp
Always love this place! Good classy people, high quality merchandise and great food and drinks! My Golden Retriever loves running outside too. Come here a few times a year. Always great!

Layne R.

Yelp
One of the best views in Charlottesville Some people won't come here because of the family name attached. Your loss. Not a fan of the man myself, but since this is a review of a business, I am keeping it at that. The wine is pricier than other wine in Charlottesville. That's the be expected when your winery is owned by the same family whose famous daddy was president. Is the wine any good? I think it's great! It certainly pairs well with the extraordinary view of the mountains and valley. The second best aspect of Trump Winery for me wasn't their wine, though. Their Mushroom, Truffle Oil Flatbread was legitimately one of the best flatbreads I have ever eaten. I did not walk into Trump Winery of all places expecting this level of incredible flatbread deliciousness. You need to come here and try it for yourself. Once you've tasted it, you'll understand. They have a newly renovated, updated main space. It's absolutely gorgeous. It felt like I was walking through a building that was one part palace and one part cabin. Somehow, both those concepts blended together perfectly, which is a real testament to its unique architecture. Come to Trump Winery for an incredible experience!

Kevin K.

Yelp
Epic view, low key, not high pressure sales. Nice to be among kindred spirits, away from certainly types. Wine is very high quality- I prefer the whites including sparkling whites to to the reds.
google avatar

Rebecca M.

Yelp
Regardless of any political views this is a beautiful location and was impressed by the view, the wine, the food and the service!
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous here! Everything about this place, from the staff, to the wine, to the decor and ambiance - everything is perfect! We got a sparkling flight and a red flight and then got 3 or 4 bottles to drink there of the sparkling reserve and it is my favorite! We also got some bites in - Cobb salad and mushroom flatbread and it was sooooo good. I don't even like flatbread and the flatbread here has me craving for it often enough now.
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
Beautiful- politics aside this place and the service are top notch - the wine is great ! The food is ok to good, but really the staff and the scenery made this place an easy recommend.
google avatar

Darrell B.

Yelp
Spectacular grounds on the property of all the grapes very large facility loved it so much we ended up staying three hours. The food there was good to their specialty was sparkling ones which were really good.
google avatar

Jordan B.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful scenery and outdoor spaces. They offer four flights with three wines each. I opted to get one of each of the white, red and sparkling. The wines were okay and at a slightly higher price point than some others we went to that day. We did not order any food. We ordered a bottle of the blanc de blanc, we were given a nice ice bucket to keep it really cold while we enjoyed. A nice perk is for every tasting you can purchase a trump winery glass at a discounted price. I visited in August so it was a bit challenging that they didn't have much indoor seating. They do have an outdoor tent with shade, fans and cold water. If you want to bring your own food, you have to sit outside at a picnic table (not under tent).

Yelp
Beautiful place beautiful view great wine wonderful food great staff stop in and relax and enjoy all that they offer
