Tsing Tao

Google
First time to visit this restaurant in more than 10 years when it was still at the Campbell location. I like the clean bright and airy feel of the space, and also the excellent service by the staff. The noodle dishes are still as good as I remembered back in the day. The green beans were fresh and crunchy. The Mongolian beef had a bit too much onions though. Overall we had a very nice meal experience.

Google
This place serves great portions for a decent price. The shrimp fried rice is particularly good. The chili prawn is a little too sweet, and can be mistaken for a dessert. The hot and sour soup is a harmonious blend of spicy and tangy flavors. They also offer free jasmine tea with meals. The place is well lit, and service is great.

Google
I was pleasantly surprised with Tsing Tao. They started me off with hot tea and a plate of kimchi. The kimchi was done of the best I've ever had and figured it had to be homemade due to texture and freshness of the cabbage. I asked a server, and she confirmed it was homemade. The soup was very good. But I was very impressed with the beef and broccoli. The broccoli was cooked perfectly al dente and hot as it should be ! The beef was tender and flavorful. The chow mein was very good and flavorful for just being a vegetable chow mein. Everything was very good, if you live in this area make sure you come eat here !! I love in Gilroy, so it's a ways for me to drive.

Google
Tsing Tao is a typical Chinese restaurant. It's a local spot with a big menu. They make their noodles by hand, which is why I gave them 4 stars instead of 3. The flavors are decent, and the service was good. The beef and chicken soups tasted fresh, and the portions were huge. The kids especially loved the noodles in the soups.

Matty L.

Google
Pretty decent American-style Chinese food. It’s a bit oily and can be heavy, so be sure to have some hot tea to balance everything. Is it authentic Chinese food that Chinese people eat? Probably not, but it’s still good American-Chinese food. Portions are giant for a family too. Makes pretty good left overs if that’s your thing. The Mushu chicken wraps were good, think of it as a delicate Chinese taco. The simple veggie side dish is good too.

Google
This is the best Chinese we’ve had in the South Bay ever! Amazingly friendly service, delicious kim chi to start. Plus tea! Orders wonderful egg rolls for appetizers. Then had honey walnut prawns and prawns with cashews. Both were incredible. Very generous portions. We’ll definitely be back!!! 💝😋

Peter J.

Google
This sesame chicken was perfect, the chicken was all clean meat, the sauce was subtle with a hint of honey but. It overly sweet as is often the case. The Chinese spicy cabbage (like kimchi) was fantastic, not burn your lips off hot, it was a delightful meal.

Huy N.

Google
Quiet spot in a medium size plaza with plenty of parking. The price is competitive but the portions are large and the quantity of meat is awesome. Staff is polite and food was served hot and fresh.

Harry H.

Yelp
Their Hot and Sour Soup is a 10 out of 10. The kimchi is homemade and although it's not on the menu is available for takeout.

Harry H.

Yelp
The hot and sour soup is one of top three I've had. Great! I don't like Kimchi at all, but this kimchi is wonderful! It's not on the menu, but you can buy 8 oz or 16oz so I bought some to take home!! Harry

Yelp
We absolutely love coming here we brought my dad and brother and we were greeted with so much love and we appreciate all the staff here Tina was our server she's the absolutely amazing person ever we really feel welcomed and at home everytime we come here the food is so delicious Today we had shrimp, fried rice, walnut, shrimp, sesame, chicken, sizzling, rice soup, and we had the appetizer platter which was so much food for us. It was delicious. They are more than generous with their portions of food. We always have a bunch to take home. Will be back soon, friends thank you again for hosting us. The ambience was amazing and calm.

Mike W.

Yelp
I ordered beef broccoli lunch special and it came with hot and sour soup + spring roll. The portion was too much for me so I pack the left overs for dinner. The food tastes the same as when they were in Campbell. So good they are still around.

Yelp
Overpriced and decent, I ordered six plates and none of the boxes were properly sealed, and they put the small box on the bottom .all of the food leaked, never going back
google avatar

Mar H.

Yelp
The food was fantastic! The service was great!! We'll definitely be going again. Loved the noodles, eggplant, seafood and veggies.

Lola L.

Yelp
Food has been very good when I've ordered. Servers are always kind and accommodating.

Yelp
Friendly and extremely quick service! We got here right when they opened and were seated immediately. Their lunch specials are unbeatable and very generous in portion (two meals). The fried rice is a little on the plain side but complements the meat entree. We tried both the sweet and sour chicken and sesame chicken, really crispy and saucy. The hot and sour soup is delicious and peppery. I love that they give you hot tea also. We've also gotten takeout from here and their regular menu items (jajangmyeon, tangsuyuk, etc) and it hits every time!

xiaoyan h.

Yelp
They cook every dish with care and passion -- from their handmade noodles and savory black bean sauce to their crispy sweet and sour pork and perfectly stir-fried chow fun. They have authentic flavors and generous portions!

Yelp
I had to bring a friend to Los Gatos today and I was starving after. I was craving some Chinese food, so I checked help. It showed Tsing Tao was close and had 4 stars. I figured I'd give it a try. Waking in there was a mix of customers. There were a few Asian people, so I was hopeful it would be good. My dad always good me "If you go to an ethnic restaurant and it has its own people eating, then it should be good." They brought me out tea and a small plate of kimchi. This was done of the best kimchi I've ever had. I figured it had to be home made and fresh. The cabbage was still crisp, not soggy and everything tastes fresh. I asked one of the servers and she confirmed it was homemade. The hot and sour soup was very good as well. I ordered the beef and broccoli with chow mein lunch plate. The beef and broccoli was cooked perfectly ! The brocoli was al dented and hot as it should be. The meat was tender and flavorful. The chow mein was very good as well for just being vegetable chow mein. It was very flavourful as well. I was very impressed with Tsing Tao restaurant. It's a bit pricier than what I'm used to, but it was very delicious. Plus I figured I'm in Los Gatos, so I'm sure rent it more expensive. If I'm in the area, I'll come eat here again !!

Yelp
Hands down favorite Chinese food in the San Jose area! Discovered them when they were located on Campbell/San Tomas Aquino...... then I moved away for a few years. When I moved back, I actually found a rental less than a mile from location. Was so excited to go and get my favorites (cashew chicken, veggie chow mein, & cream cheese wontons!) ...... but discovered they had moved locations! I may have banged mg fists on steering wheel and said a "bad word" or two . While I haven't gone to new location in Los Gatos to dine in, I do have Tsing Tao on my Door Dash rotation. And the meals never disappoint!

Yelp
The food was really good and very generous portions, the service was amazing, as soon as we sat we were given a tea kettle and homemade kimchee that was truly one of the best I've had. I wanted an order of it to go, maybe next time, I was so full. My only critique is that I wish they had single person dinner plates. My aunt and I had dinner and we wanted to try more but the portions for a single dish were huge , we couldn't finish it. It was very much family style portions which would have been fine if it wasn't just the two of us. As you can see from the photo the food was beautiful. The restaurant itself was bright, airy, and tidy. We will be back to try the lunch plates for sure!

Sri H.

Yelp
I've been to China several times and actually to the province popular for Szechuan spice. I know am in US and that too in Los Gatos but was hoping will atleast get some semblance of the original flavor/spice, that tingly spice sensation. This food tastes so terrible- it was basically like Panda's orange chicken but worse. Very sweet, beef was soggy/too much bready and none of the Szechuan pepper.
google avatar

Jenni G.

Yelp
Another amazing meal at Tsing Tao, this time for family-style lunch on a Sunday. Delicious food and great service, once again!

Yelp
Tsing Tao at 15525 Los Gatos Blvd, Ste D, Los Gatos, CA 95032 is a business that relocated from Campbell, CA. This is a brand new store with major upgrades from the old location. Freshly painted walls, great lighting and new flooring. Restaurant was spotlessly clean. The service was excellent, everyone worked as a team. One thing I really liked was the insulated mugs, which kept the drink ice cold. I feel the food is much better than the old location. The sweet and sour pork was fabulous! Tender, lightly battered, with pineapple, and other items. I like the fried rice, although a bit different than other restaurants. Not greasy and very tasty with lots of scrambled eggs in it. Of course, you can't beat the egg rolls or the hot and sour soup. I saw other dishes being delivered, everything looked marvelous! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant!

Michael P.

Yelp
Just found this place as our fav Chinese Restaurant closed. Here is our scoop. Food & Food Chpoices, both really good. Service even better. Prices.... Normal. Been there about 5 times. My suggestion is, get over there & try it out & let me know!

Yelp
Complimentary tea and also Kimchi was very appetizing, just the right amount of fermentation for sweet, sour and spicy mixture.  Need to buy a togo box of this next time. My friend suggested this Korean Chinese restaurant with a beer name.  Judging from the menu, I thought the food would be Americanized Chinese because I saw their popular dishes of sweet & sour pork, egg roll, walnut shrimp, chicken salad - dishes that are not authentic Chinese. But we ordered 2 dishes that passed my Chinese taste buds.  Chicken stir fry with green beans was yummy and felt healthy.   We also ordered the Ja Jang Mein which originated from China but is more popular in Korea.  Both were enjoyable and portions were generous; I was pleasantly surprised.

Prashant I.

Yelp
The portions were big but chicken was overcooked. The taste was bland and nothing to write home about. Kimchi side is certainly helpful to bring some taste.

Ramon C.

Yelp
The sweet n sour soup is bomb! I want ta try something else, but I can't . My sister loves the Kung Pao Chicken.

Yelp
I loved them in Campbell and I still love them in their new location in Los Gatos. Tsing Tao has been a staple in my life for 30 years. I live in Campbell and their original location was literally around the corner. So when they closed, I was heartbroken. Their wonton soup cures all things when I'm sick and those cream cheese, Rangoon wontons are killer! Thankfully I work in LG and even if I didn't, it's not terribly far away. The new location is easy to get to, clean and modern, and even more importantly, friendly, warm and still delicious! Popped in yesterday for some chicken salad and BOOM!! Huge portions ... tender and tasty chicken and that sauce is omg good. LG, I hope you love Tsing Tao as much as I do.

Yelp
This used to be in Campbell and I loved it then. I was super disappointed when they closed the Campbell location but had the opportunity to go to the new location a few months ago. Same delicious food, excellent service. Bonus; the place was bigger! I enjoyed the cozy feel at Campbell but I'm happy for the owners that they were able to expand. I recommended to a few friends recently and said it's my favorite place. They went and reached out saying they really enjoyed it too. THEY ARE ON DOORDASH! Super awesome!

Yelp
A local restaurant that serves jellyfish, that's amazing. Their food is pretty consistent, to stay or to go, staff friendly. Restaurant is clean overall great service, good food, good to bring family, good for large groups and pretty bright. overall highly recommend.

Yelp
I grew up eating at Tsing Tao at their Campbell location, but over more recent years, I noticed their food didn't taste the same. As the new location is near home, decided to give it a try on a early Sunday evening. It's new so it's clean and inviting, but we were the only diners for awhile. Ordered Korean Chinese dishes, a kung pao like fried squid and jjamp bong which is a hot seafood noodle soup dish. The food came out pretty quickly and their portions are still really big. The squid dish was not what I expected...at other Chinese restaurants the squid is long pieces, and not circle calamari like pieces. The sauce was overwhelmingly too sweet for me. The jjamp bong, they say the noodles are made in house, but it had a weird taste to me and my mom. The soup was not good either, which I was really hoping for because I was at a tail end of a cold. It is packed with ingredients, but all in all, I don't think I'd be back unless I try more typical dishes like Mongolian Beef or Kung Pao Chicken.

Yelp
This Chinese restaurant is tucked in away from Los Gatos Blvd, at the back end of a parking lot, so we didn't notice it until now. My wife and I had dinner here a few days ago. The portions here are large. We took home leftovers of everything, including the soup. So we got two meals from what we ordered. The food overall was good, but a bit on the bland side. We started with the Assorted Won Ton Soup ($11.95). There were lots of ingredients in it, but it was a bit bland. I added some of the free kimchi appetizer to it gave a flavor boost. The Sizzling Beef with Scallops ($25.95) was tasty. The presentation was good. The server brought the very hot iron plate and then placed the food into it causing a large steam cloud and lots of good sounding sizzling sounds. The combination of beef and scallops was covered with a good tasting sauce. This was the best dish we tried. The Garlic Flavor Egg Plant ($16.95) was good, but not great. I always order this dish to try out a new restaurant to see how well they prepare it. It was not my favorite here, but its flavor did improve by the next day.

Yelp
Nice add to the neighborhood and it fills the void of a good Chinese restaurant in this part of LG. It was bustling when I went in. The decor is simple and clean. The wait staff is friendly and nice. I got the chicken chow fun which was good but wish the portion was a little bigger, I was still hungry after I finished it.

Yelp
Open at 4pm. Just what I needed. Great service and the veggies are fresh. Chinese chicken salad, crispy coated chicken, not ooily and lots of chicken slices. Lots of Prawns with assorted veggies. Both delicious. Meal came wwith kimchee and hot tea.
google avatar

Yelp
Consistently, great service and food. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained. Great place for family dinner night or reasonably priced lunch specials. The food is far less greasy/oily than other Chinese restaurants in the area. Love their free cabbage kimchi! We typically go for the Jjajangmyun, Jjampong and their robust cream cheese wontons. Tonight we ventured out of our comfort zone and ordered other dishes. The sesame chicken had plenty of tender meat with a thin coating of breading. The vegetable chow mein was plentiful with fresh veggies and noodles overflowing from the platter. Also love the complimentary hot tea to wash everything down. Until next time...

Yelp
We've been going tsing Tao for 10 years in their previous Campbell location . Tuis is the first time we're trying their Los Gatos location since they moved . The food is good as it's always been A generous portions , well prepared , fresh and yummy . We ordered the Szechuan sliced fish , shrimp chow mein and shrimp dumpling - everything was great . The fish and chow mein were large portions and enough for 2 adults . The service. In the other hand was downright terrible - slow , the dishes did not arrive together (20 mins apart!) the server was not to be found when needed , water cups that we asked for arrived after 40 minutes I was debating if to give them 3 stars considering the service , but I do a Komodo edge they just opened , so we'll go with 4 stars for the great food. Hoping for a better service experience next time
google avatar

Aden G.

Yelp
Fast and efficient service. Overall all dishes we ordered are good but sweeter than we'd like. So we gave 3.5 stars. Jjampong was tasty but lacked some flavor. Frankly the dishes didn't meet our expectation based on our experience from tbe Campbell location. Atmosphere and service were pleasant though.
google avatar

Sofia T.

Yelp
When you sit down, they bring you a fresh pot of green tea and a plate of house made kimchee. The crunch and flavor was wonderful. We ordered the wonton soup but were underwhelmed by the lack of flavor. Thankfully, the main courses made up for that. The sesame chicken maintained a crunch and was very warming and flavorful with honey undertones. The beef chow fun was cooked to perfection and had fluffy, fresh noodles. Very pleased with the team-style quality of service. Will definitely be back to this quaint charmer soon!
google avatar

Iris Y.

Yelp
Great mandarin style Chinese food! We always get the Jajamen (black noodles with shrimp and pork) plus other items like egg rolls, Champon, etc. The service is nice and we have been regulars since I was in elementary school so it's been my first Chinese food encounter and comfort food I grew up with. I'm happy to see that they moved to Los Gatos from Campbell but as any restaurant nowadays it gets a little awkward to tip for take out the same as dining in as does any machine asks nowadays. I don't remember being tipped so much when I was a hostess at a restaurant but o well. I'll support the local business because Tsing Tao is my favorite spot for 25+ years!!
google avatar

Barbara H.

Yelp
Delicious Mongolian Beef and Chicken salad! Excellent service too! Definitely my new favorite!
google avatar

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Previously ate at their Campbell location and had the opportunity to get take out at their new location in Los Gatos. The new location is very clean and updated. Two large tables in the back with rectangle tables to the left and right. Setup is very similar to the Campbell location but updated. Decided to do a take out order. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is very popular and I saw them cater to everyone with a smile. We ordered Sizzling Rice Soup, Moo Shu Pork, Sweet and Sour Pork, Sesame Chicken, Tomato Beef, Green Beans, Eggplant, Honey Walnut Prawns, Chow Fun, and Fried Rice. Everything was very flavorful and the portions are very large for take out. Forgot to take photos before we ate, but was able to take a couple. Will definitely be back and love their new location.

Yelp
I've never had the original Tsingtao but a coworker introduced me to the new tsingtao and it tastes amazing and the service is great! Really fast delivery of food, tastes great, and has a good bang for the buck? I'm sold! The workers greet you immediately and bring you the kimchi and the soup once you finish ordering. Additionally, you get tea to go along with your meal. Restaurant is spacious but during lunch time, the room fills quick! It'll get really busy around 12 and doesn't end for a while! I ordered the Mongolian beef and it is extremely tender and flavorful. Portions are huge and 1 person can't finish the whole dish. It comes with an eggroll and your choice of white rice, fried rice, or chow mein. You'll have enough portions for 2 meals! Employees are really friendly and attentive. Will be a regular at this spot because their menu is extensive.
google avatar

Marshall Y.

Yelp
If you're looking for jjajangmyeon (zazhiangmian), this is the place for koreans looking for chinese food. If i hadn't gone with Korean folks, i wouldn't have realized that it was in this subcategory. They have one version of the menu that has items written in both hanzi and hangul. The bean paste in the jjajangmyeon here has a distinct, nuttier flavor. It's not as oily as other places' jjajangmyeon cuz I think maybe because they use less oil and more bean paste in their recipe. Our kid also really liked their jjampong.

Yelp
surprised to find tsing tao in los gatos...had moved to newer and nicer location...interiors are modern and clearn...restaurant serving korean/chinese food...sunday lunch visit and finding fairly empty...plenty of tables and seated right away...taking the most traditional korean/chinese dishes...black sauce noodles $15.95, tangsuyuk $21.95 and side of rice $2.95...sweet and sour fried tangsuyuk was sauced heavy, but delicious...black sauce noodles were also good...quick lunch for 3 people for $52.80 total after tax and tip...

Myragw ..

Yelp
Very Dissatisfied! Took a friend to lunch for her birthday, the 3 of us all ordered Honey Glazed Walnut Prawns. The Hot and Sour Soup was lukewarm, the Chow Mein was cold, the Steamed Rice and Friend Rice was tepid. The only thing on our plates were the fried Shrimp. The walnuts were cold, soft and sugary. There was no glaze on them or the Shrimp. $65. For one of the Worst meals I have ever had! I will not be back
google avatar

Terry K.

Yelp
Had takeout on Friday. Called it in, by the time we got there, our order was ready to go. They re our go to Chinese dine in /take out restaurant.
google avatar

Ron M.

Yelp
I ordered the Family Dinner for 4 people. The Won Ton Soup was excellent with added vegetables and mushrooms. The egg rolls were delicious and crunchy with veggies and pork. The Mongolian Beef was superb with the right amount of pepper heat and flavor. The Szechuan Prawns were equally superb with the spicy sauce. They allowed me to swap Sweet and Sour Pork for the Mushu Pork and it was excellent!

Jeff

Yelp
best Chinese nearby. Kimchi asurprise and delight! particularly enjoy hot&sour soup. friendly family
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
I go here for lunch sometimes dinner with my wife we love General Chows chicken/hot and sour soup with chunks of shrimp. Kimchi is the best I've ever had. and the special spicy house seafood noodle soup is my new favorite it's delicious!!

Carol H.

Yelp
Mongolian Beef was amazing! We also had Szechuan Prawns AGAIN because they are to die for! Also, the restaurant is large and scrupulously clean. The staff is energetic, and the food arrived amazingly fast. Lovely people working there. I wish them every success. The prawns are so good, my husband and I vowed to eat all of them and take the leftover Mongolian Beef home.
google avatar

Andrew L.

Yelp
Great addition to Los Gatos. They use to be in Campbell. Very friendly staff and they renovated the space. Nice and clean and they also give you free Kim chee once you've been sat. Service is good and waiters are very good and polite
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
Revisited Tsing Tao for dinner and sampled a variety of dishes including their signature chow fun, flavorful Mongolian beef, and wonderful honey walnut prawns. Additionally, indulged in the savory sautéed string beans with chicken, tasty and satisfying. The portions were generous, plenty for leftovers. Each dish was expertly prepared, piping hot, and incredibly tasty. The server was attentive and amiable. Undoubtedly the finest Chinese dining spot in Los Gatos; a return visit is a must!

CT B.

Yelp
Been here before when it opened years ago and felt exactly the same way as today. The food is very bland. Service is good and they give you a lot of food but overall it is lacking flavor. I took home some leftovers and now plan to add spice and sauce to them to make it flavorful.

Arun K.

Yelp
The prices listed in yelp menu are not true prices. When I went to pick up food, they asked for higher price and when I asked they point me to paper menu at the counter saying online pricing is not updated. They should match.
google avatar

Cindy S.

Yelp
Sorry- wanted to like this place- very disappointed. Food is average at best. And expen$ive.
google avatar

Alfred A.

Yelp
Good food. Short wait time , great service and the environment was awesome. It is a good place to eat with old friends or co workers

Grace K.

Yelp
Food is usually good, but giving 3 stars because my takeout of shrimp fried rice only had 3 pieces of shrimp. With the rate of prices they're charging, restaurants should not be skimping on ingredients.
