Tso Moriri or Moriri Lake is one of the most beautiful high altitude lakes in India, located nearly 15,000 ft above the sea level.
If you go to Tso Moriri be prepared for chilly gusts of wind, I personally felt it was colder than Pangong Lake during my visit here. A very small number of homestays, hotels and tents are available, so please book before your arrival.
The most beautiful part of this picturesque lake is this is surrounded by 'Tso Moriri Wetland Conservation Reserve' and its green grassland around the blue coloured lake and snow capped yellowish brown mountain range in the backdrop makes it more attractive and spectacular. This wetland reserve is maintained by locals, tour operators and armed forces officially and voluntarily.
The best time to visit is during August and September, if you are going on a clear sky sunny day the lake will give you a magnificent view to remember forever.
